buck never really had a place that was his . his childhood home never really felt like home , there was always something off . after that it was community college , the navy seals , and endless dead end jobs . and he had places . shitty apartment , rooms . he had a roof and a bed . however they where never home . his life fit into a box or two . buck never worried about having things . it wasn't until he came to LA .
finding the apartment was a long shot . ali had helped ; buck wasn't sure what he was looking for . trying to find a place , a home was different than trying to find a room to rent . the furniture it came with was minimal . the dinning table , the bed frame . the rest buck ended up buying himself . but he didn't know what to look for . finding the cheapest things he could on facebook , the thrift stores . it was basic and not his style . everything felt cold , square boxes inside boxes .
when he moved again it was because he wanted to . he wanted a place that fit him . without the input of anyone . buck didn't tell anyone he was looking , in truth he wasn't actively looking for something . it just happened that he'd been browsing rental sites for a while and after taylor and him ended he knew what he wanted .
his new apartment in silver lakes finally felt like home . furniture that spoke to him , furniture and decorations picked out because he liked them not because they where cheap and he felt like he needed them . he goes with earth tones , warm lights and soft textures . fake plants ( because he can't keep one alive longer than a month ) , books he actually reads .
the apartment is on the ground floor with minimal stairs and minimal neighbours . two bedrooms , the second of which buck uses for various guests and family members . with a singular bathroom with a wide tub and shower . the lounge is big enough he can buy his own couch , with slightly higher than normal ceilings . while the kitchen is small it leads onto a balcony . big enough for buck to put furniture , to hang up lights . its quiet with minimal traffic .
it took him almost thirty years but buck finally found his place , his home .
