i’m sick and tired of people saying loumand was a loveless relationship. because no! it was not! it was a passionless relationship, and even then that was mostly towards the end.
i mean do you really think that louis would have even considered being armand’s companion if he didn’t love him? especially so soon after losing lestat? while being haunted by him, and while knowing that he could be killed if armand discovered what he did to him? do you think armand would’ve been so gutted that louis said he was boring if he felt no love or fondness at all towards him? do you think he’d be physically unable to tell louis that lestat still loved him if he, himself, didn’t love him and want him so badly to stay?
even in the modern day timeline, when daniel was interrogating louis about how he failed claudia, pushing him to his breaking point, armand revealed himself to daniel for the first time since their initial interview in the 70s and threatened to let him die, at that. you can’t tell me armand would have done that when, up until that point, he had tried his best to conceal his own identity unless he did so out of love.
armand left his coven behind for louis. louis let down claudia again for armand after promising her that he wouldn’t. was part of their relationship fueled by a desire to spite lestat? absolutely! i believe that louis never stopped loving lestat, and that armand never truly forgave him, but that doesn’t mean that they were incapable of making room in their hearts for each other. i’ll be damned if you think i watched 2x05 and didn’t see the love, as fucked up and toxic as it was, alive and breathing between them
