Walls and Fine Line listening parties continue- Harry is not personally attending all his anymore, but Louis was at a second today, and was sort of present at today's Fine Line one by way of the WMI video being shown. Louis was interviewed and he slipped up and gave some details of his schedule (in the US til the 20th then home for the holidays) then was like uhhh wait I shouldn't probably tell everyone that huh and shoehorned in a comment about seeing Freddie for Xmas. The Phoenix Jingle Ball bash cancelled day two of their show (which Louis was on), if he's being moved to the other day we don't know it yet. The fan Louis helped out last year by funding her family's project to make her home accessible was at the listening party today and Louis went out of his way to make it special for her. She described her experience with him in the exact words as other child fans have after meeting him: "he's my best friend."

Harry has lots of stuff coming up including another Rolling Stone feature, it looks like, and Ellen on the 18th (same day as Live Lounge so one of them will be prerecorded- people are saying probably Live Lounge which given the name of it I find confusing but sure okay.) With those two outlets we'll for sure be hearing lots about Cherry and ex girlfriends soon; let's hope the people who like that really enjoy it because, as a correspondent from today's listening party said, 'I hope they really like Cherry cause they're gonna have a hard time making anything else add up to what they want it to.' More lyrics were leaked (umm Sunflower Vol 6 is about a lover who he calls sunflower? ...cool cool cool. Cool. Very calm.) and Adore You merch is out, the beautiful Eroda fish poster art! It's great merch, I want it, but it is yes. You guessed it. Extremely expensive. Speaking of which Argentinian fans are circulating a petition asking HSHQ to adjust HSLOT prices in their country to reflect the economic reality, namely that the current local ticket prices are insane and no one will be able to go.

The Eroda site has added a Testimonials tab with a few selected accounts of time spent on the island; one is from a user called EdtheErodian who seems to Know Things... is he Edward, aka The Boy, aka Harry Edward Styles? Or just a clever enthusiast?

Niall is in Australia providing content, just really quantity. He tells the Lizzo story again (he: you're smashing it! Lizzo: you can smash this!) and turns a little red and stutters just telling it, man I wish there was video of the actual incident, and he says yeah I've written my name on napkins for people to try to pick up on them. Does he have autograph signing flashbacks while he's doing it and think ack I shouldn't put my number on here? Should he be giving his number out to random people? I have questions. And Halsey says she has a song coming soon with a friend, Hiall collab theorists intensified.

Liam was papped at a BFA after-party last night, posted more song snippets, is offering free tickets to his album release show to UK merch store customers, and teased what looks like a video! Dec 6! Presumably for Live Forever soooo single and video drop along with the album Fri?

And Zayn surfaced for Giving Tuesday to promote Malalas fund, the organization formed by young Pakistani Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai to provide access to education for girls worldwide.

Ok I agree with your points to that anon, but you can’t look at the others and compare them to Louis when they seem to be different artists. Louis seems to prioritize perfecting his album in lieu of being public whereas Niam, especially liam like to go overboard with promo. Liam also has had 2 songs out since the beginning of the year so he has more incentive to do performances whereas Louis only had MY that his label and him seemed to scrap in place of getting the album done. Also 1)

Zayn was in the middle of a promo rollout when he was dropped/left his management team. It does happen and if I remember correctly Louis actually switched labels a week or two before Back To You was released. We’re also going off of an unknown album date so for all we know the album could be dropping end of the year/next year and the rollout might start later this year. Idk just wanted to add a second opinion. 2)-end

i don’t even know where to start with this. like i said people can be as optimistic as they want, but i don’t need your second opinion when it has no basis in what we’re seeing. you people think i’m drawing conclusions based on nothing? i’m drawing conclusions based on past events. and you seem to have a completely different idea of how this shit works, putting a whole lot of decision making at louis’ feet. 

“they seem to be different artists” as in… louis is the kind of artists who doesn’t need promo? doesn’t need brand building? literally what are you even talking about? even indie artists get promo. here’s a story: last year i had peak solo louis optimism. because of his connection with high snobiety and noisey i figured OK–they are going the “indie” route. i adjusted my expectations in my head, no jingle ball and big radio bashes in sight, and i figured then he’d be doing lots of festivals this year–not radio ones, but stuff like governor’s ball, lolla, osheaga etc. the stuff that appeals to that crowd. maybe he’d be talked up to stereogum which is the arbiter of indie taste. he could do kexp live lounge etc. what did we get? nothing. and as someone who does frequent lots of indie sites let me tell you he’s not even on their radar, and if he is it’s not in a positive light.

liam has had two more songs out… is the exact point. he’s getting to release his music. and i don’t know how you’re just brushing aside the fact that MY was completely abandoned? that’s not normal. you don’t scrap a single in order to get the album done? additionally you’re forgetting that niall promoed TT for months. he then promoed SH for months and did festivals with just TT and SH under his belt. there’s absolutely not logical reason for louis to be out of the spotlight. and you seem to think louis…. decided to stop promoting MY? like i’m sorry but you’re putting so much onus on him in all of this when he’s not the one pulling the strings. they spent so much energy promoting its debut on TXF only to drop it immediately – almost like it was only TXF promo. 

i didn’t say that no artists change teams mid-rollout, i said it’s a bad sign. and how well have things worked out for zayn exactly? how much promo is he doing? right. management contracts are quite rigid and are typically on year terms, which means louis dropped them because he didn’t want to renew for another year or two because he knows how shit they’ve been (which should indicate that he is in fact not happy with how his career has been handled so far, which punches a hole in your theory that he’s just a ‘different artist’ who doesn’t want to ‘overboard’). i am very cautiously optimistic about what a new management might entail. but as i’ve said, we’ve been burned before. really, really badly. so no, i’m not going to sit here and say everything is now under control when we’ve literally not seen any indication that things have changed for the better just yet. 

as for unknown dates–louis said the album was coming in the first half of the year. that’s by the end of june. i really fucking hope that’s not when the album is actually coming because the lack of lead up is criminal and will be used to push the idea that he’s a failure. and to clarify– i don’t think he is one. i think he has the potential to do so much. but that’s not how he’s being treated or reported on. 

and no, he didn’t change labels. he was reported as being distributed by RCA in the US, that was corrected to say he was actually with epic. they are both sony subsidiaries. i believe epic is the smaller of the two labels, so if you wanna be really pessimistic i’d say sony told RCA “here you go” and they were like, “nah” so they had to shuffle him over to epic who has shown zero interest in supporting him. it’s been a nonstop waiting game. epic prioritized camila we said, “okay maybe once her album is out they’re going to give louis some focus.” didn’t happen. we won him the best solo breakout award over her, hoping that would jolt them into paying some attention to him, didn’t happen. now they’re putting all their juice in meghan trainor. syco are too busy praising harry to even know a louis and also promoting their new boyband that’s supposed to replace 1d. they don’t care about him.

considering everything that’s going on i don’t think i or anyone else can be blamed for being worried. the only thing that will reassure me is an actual change in direction and promo. not your rose coloured interpretation of events.the reality is what mika has said, and what i’ve been saying from the start: “Am I going to be in the top seven global priorities at my record company? Because if you’re not, you have to face up to that – and find other ways to get what you need to promote your career.” louis is not one of the priorities at his label. he isn’t. and maybe, hopefully his new management will help him to stay relevant and accomplish something in spite of syco/epic and can secure him a deal with a label that will prioritize him later. but we don’t know that that’s going to happen. and i don’t do blind faith or blind trust anymore. i’m still completely devastated about how wrong i was about so many things. i still cry when i think about how different i thought this “hiatus” was going to turn out. i cannot afford to be optimistic again and be crushed again. 

so please. go be optimistic somewhere else. i’m waiting for concrete proof that things have changed.

seeing taylor at jingle bash was a feeling like no other 💓 i remember nearly being in tears watching her but the adrenaline some how kept my tears lolol but anyway!! it was the first time i had seen her again since july 2015. knowing she was doing well and happy made my heart burst :’) i remember it was the first time she played gorgeous live. i remember hugging andrea for the briefest second and i miss it all. i just can’t wait until september to see taylor in st louis and relive these feelings all over again @taylorswift @taylornation ❤️ love you

Mood of the day has been TICKET STRESS! With LT tour ticket sales upon us with little time to prepare and much confusion about what the hell is going on, tensions are running high. But the pre-sale codes were finally sent out to most places and fans in the first countries to go on sale successfully got tickets so it's slightly calmer now. To everyone trying tomorrow: may the odds be ever in your favor.

Louis has added another performance! He's playing the Phoenix AZ Jingle Bash on Dec 9. Video of fans from the WMI listening parties has been posted. WMI is Amazon song of the day! And in interviews: he says that WMI is the second of FOUR singles, so we can expect another after DLIBYH (which he said will be out in Nov) and probably the video series is four parts. He says he spends AN HOUR A DAY reading fan messages and that he'd like to find an unknown/unsigned band to open for him for the UK or US legs of tour to give them a boost. We found out why Noel Gallagher is credited on Walls; as suspected it's because of a melody similarity and not any work he and Louis did together. Louis said it was ironic cause he's a Liam Gallagher fan mostly but that they asked if it was ok and Noel said yes, "I thought it was fucking cool, I was expecting him to just say no." Late Late Show is tonight and early reports make it sound fun and that's all, no big drama. Ben Winston got everyone riled up teasing something exciting on the show tonight but, spoiler, it isn't anything exciting. Build interviewer Kevan Kenney tweets that he has Louis news tomorrow. Louis took fan pics and hung out a little bit outside the LLS taping.

Liam's anime lyric video was mysteriously reuploaded to YouTube, so all the previous view counts were lost, and even more mysteriously the description included A LOT of lyrics from the upcoming album, just a massive dump of song lyrics. WTF happened over there?? MTV is teasing a Liam interview for tomorrow with some cool clips of a fun looking photoshoot (that white suit and Panama hat! whoa) and an interview clip in which he talks about the difficulties of dating in the public eye. He also shows us through his shoot wardrobe, stopping on a patterned suit to give a little wink to Harry ("I feel like I know someone would wear it better.")

Niall congratulated Lewis Capaldi on finally making it number one in the US, tells us to "smile all the time" because "it's good for ya," and says he's been listening to his own album at the gym because he's working on mixes currently. He posted and quickly deleted a dimly lit selfie making a weird face OOPS.

We got a picture of Harry in his stage clothes from the Jools Holland taping- it's the FOURTH (4th) iteration of the same outfit in a different color scheme, amazing! The high waisted button trousers, glittery blouse and wide braces combo was in soft purples and pinks on this occasion. The similarity to a certain David Bowie era was again noted.

And in the most unexpected revelations of the day, a Julian Bunetta podcast casts a familiar song in a whole new light. He talks about nearly leaking the entirety of Midnight Memories by accident but does not mention the time he actually was responsible for No Control leaking and talks about writing for 1D at great length without ever acknowledging them having participated in songwriting, but the big story is about the writing of She's Not Afraid. He says the house next to the studio they were working in was being used for a porn shoot and they "didn't want to be creeps" so they were sneaking around in the bushes peeking through the windows because they felt that would be "more respectful" to the female actress, hmm yes that sounds about like Julian's idea of respecting women, and then they wrote the song about a made up version of her in their minds. Respectful is... definitely the word is have chosen for all that, YOU BET. Anyway he also says the Calabasas house was bought by Liam and that's who lived in it.
