Louboutina is an Instagram famous dog who lives in New York with her Dad, Cesar Fernandez. She is known as the hugging dog and has over 192k followers who check in daily for adorable updates.

On Christmas day 2017, the unimaginable happened. A fire struck their apartment and Fernandez lost absolutely everything. Firefighters managed to get his passport and coat from the apartment but everything else was gone.

Two people sustained minor injuries as the fire broke out on the top floor of the apartment building on Monday afternoon, the cause of the fire was “accidental, unattended candles”  according to the New York City Fire Department.

The pair were out for a walk when the fire struck.

In the meantime they are staying at a hotel but are currently looking for a new apartment. An online fund page was set up to help the pair and more than $70,000 has been raised in 7 days, Fernandez is overwhelmed with the fantastic response and said “I can’t read more than three of the comments without crying,” he said. “It’s been amazing. It’s incredible to realize how much people are with us.”

“I’ve been crying for two days,” Fernandez said. “But I know I’m going to be OK, and Loubie’s going to be OK.”

6 years ago dad was told that he was getting a pup for his birthday – He right away said "I want a golden retriever, a female pup and I'm gonna name her Louboutina" – even though I didn't arrive into his life until December (Thank you Daphne for the surprise) he knew on his birthday that he was going to be a father. ❤️Happy Birthday Dad!❤️ The world can tell how much we love each other. ➡️

Cute Golden Retriever Gives Free Hugs To Strangers In New York City

His name is Louboutina, he’s five years old and lives in New York. Her tendency to hug strangers down the street as she strolls along the city’s great avenues has made her a star on social media and in the media. His Instagram account already has more than 100,000 followers, and his owner, César Fernández, expresses in it that he would like to attend to all the means that propose interviews, but that the day only has 24 hours. That’s how popular this loving golden retriever has become.

The first time he hugged Caesar was, as with the unknown passers-by, in the middle of one of his walks. Louboutina was so happy to take her usual walk that she decided to show it to her in such an endearing way. Then, little by little, he began to do it with strangers. “First, he sits next to you, and if he sees you look at her, he gives you a hug,” Caesar explains to the media.
