Bro is probably still grieving over the pilgrims, and tbf he's real for that, they were on that journey for ten years but BROO! I also like the idea that Wukong isn't really sure about his feelings for Nezha because yeah, he does like Nezha and thinks of him as cool, but does he actually want a partner or is he just attracted to the idea of someone not dying on him?

So the two of them are stuck in this circle because Nezha literally NEEDS approval and he needs Wukong to at least acknowledge that he wants him in some way, and while the jokes probably satiated that need for a bit in the beginning, Nezha does genuinely want to be wanted because he grew up pretty unwanted. And Wukong lowkey wants to want Nezha, and it's a pretty safe bet since Nezha is also immortal and strong so he doesn't have to worry about Nezha dying on him but old habits die hard and honestly he kinda wants to see how long he can play this relationship tug of war with Nezha(because he's still scared to admit his feelings and isn't sure if he actually likes Nezha or just likes the idea of not being left alone again) until Nezha gives up because Nezha MUST give up at some point, surely he'll get bored and leave, right? Maybe he'll get tired of this game like the Brotherhood and just leave him and spare him the heartbreak of getting attached and having happy memories only to leave after decades, maybe centuries if their lucky, together.

WRONG!! Nezha is just as stubborn as Wukong and as long as Wukong dangles the idea of his approval and/or affection Nezha WILL try and grab it.

i think nezha's craving for approval from maf(male authority figures)could have some further backing when you consider his mother. i couldn't find much information on her in jttw or her in general and iirc she never shows up or is even mentioned in lmk. i imagine that for lmk she's not really around much and thus isn't very present in nezha's life. because he doesn't have much of a relationship with his mom all he really has is his relationships with men. hell if you wanted to maybe nezha unconciously is also drawn to older women as well its not a craving for their approval but more just a craving for them to be there for him unlike his mother who never really was.

i used to think you were cool until i saw what you said on ao3..as a minor that connects to nezha it's weird how you think writing for him much less thinking lotuspeach is a good ship. 🫤 and i used to like you too..

Shit so wild I needed to pull up with the gacha reactions.

First and absolutely foremost, why the fuck are you as a minor hanging around either of my accounts?? I specifically added a warning on my pinned message for a reason. Ever since I turned 18 this year, NONE of my content is catered towards minors. I've repeated it over and over; if you're a MINOR, get away. The fact you chose to speak to me through anon speaks millions, actually, because I would've blocked your ass IMMEDIATELY.

Secondly; my AO3 also isn't catered to minors. Majority of my AO3 is filled with NSFW content with proper tags and warnings for readers. I know I'm not your parent but holy fuck, why in god's name would you admit you were on an nsfw only account to begin with?! Worst less, I KNOW where you got your lotuspeach complaint from and it's from my kinktober fic which has a specific warning for anyone under 18 to fucking leave.

Thirdly, I'm fully aware of the problematic ships in this fandom. I know there are some that are proshipping category, but I also aren't aware of what others there are because I like my small selection of ships. I don't like lotuspeach personally, but that's only because when I looked up the ship I found only noncon content, and it put me off from it. That being said though, lotuspeach isn't proshipping unless one side is a minor, which surprise: neither side are.

Look, I get that people are picky with ships, I am too. I also understand that fans of a ship can be weird―some lotuspeach fans tend to make really gross and weird content of the ship, which can put people off.

But, again, Nezha isn't a minor, and unless someone is shipping Nezha as a child with Wukong, then I don't think it's proshipping. Hence, I don't particularly give a shit about the ship because it's not problematic, and the person who had asked was very nice about it. I'm not even going to persist on why Nezha isn't a child anymore because at this point I'm tired.

My main issue here is, why are YOU as a minor hanging around MY account that has specifically repeated over and over again I am NOT a place for minors. None of my content including sfw are catered to children. I put a pinned for a reason and the fact you chose to ignore it is wild to me.

I know the toxic lotuspeach post was a while ago but OOOOHHHH. That's literally so so so GOOD!!! Not just Wukongs shitty communication and Nezhas anger issues, but depending on how you view their upbringings it just RAAAHH. If you choose to follow the stories where Nezhas dad was shitty and kinda abusive, do you think a teeny part of him would be just a teeny tiny bit afraid of Wukong being angry? Because Wukong technically has authority over Nezha(Not that he uses it). And not in a "I can't ever disagree with him" fear, but more of a "I need to push this fucker as far as I can so I know where the limits are" way? And mayhaps Wukong doesn't wanna lash out or scare Nezha, so he constantly downplays it and makes it into a joke, but it just spurs Nezha on further because he thinks Wukong doesn't take him seriously??? to further add to the toxicity i say we add in wukong's troubles with letting people in(considering the whole 'my best friends are dead and i had to kill my love-i mean my sworn brother') if you want to go with them not actually being together but more of them being a kind of..situation ship?(is that the right word? idk man) then have nezha maybe wanting an actual serious relationship but wukong brushes it off as a joke and refuses to take it seriously causing nezha to feel frustrated with him.

in my mind li jing does care for nezha but he's quite strict and often disapproves of his son's decisions. it results in nezha desperately craving his approval or the approval of older male figures in general. maybe that's why he's with wukong lmao. or maybe he's into dilfs(dilfs hunter nezha confirmed???)
