6: Does your OC have any supernatural powers?

No, but he has some cybernetic enhancements

7: Is your OC in a relationship?

No. He does have a platonic crush on Cobalt’s Paladin, but it’s not sexual in nature.

8: What are some of your OCs strengths?

He is fierce and agile. He has a great connection with his lion. In fact, the cybernetic eye was to allow for data transfer between his lion and himself. So, this way they can have more complex communications between each other.

Parlex values intelligence and knowledge.

He’s a bit of a dreamer, but it’s what gives him his spirit and drive.

He’s the force of determination and energy behind the activity of the Second Guardian’s lions. Without his, Violet’s, and Cobalt’s determination, the current paladins might have chosen to simply go into cryosleep to await the return of Voltron rather than being active during the original Guardian’s absense.

9: What are some of your OCs weaknesses?

He doesn’t have great experience interacting with people. He often doesn’t know what to say, or especially when to shut up. He’s either quite, or he comes across as snotty, or arrogant. Sometimes he’s civil, but then he’s never quite comfortable around people.

He hates crowds. Parlex has a great deal of anxiety and some insecurity. He’s the fifth paladin of Violet. He feels like he has a lot to live up to.

Parlex is a little timid and recalcitrant when it comes to making big decisions. He can’t stand being responsible for anything major when taking action against Zarkon. He has a lot of anxiety.

He hates guns. He sucks at them. Violet’s weapons are okay, but him, and a gun? Nope.

He’s a little shit and insults people at times. He thinks anyone who’s not keeping up with him might be stupid. He doesn’t like having to ‘slow down’ or to explain things. He just wants to DO things.

He is temperamental, like Violet. He’ll yell when he gets angry.

10: What is your OCs favorite outfit?

Secretly, he adores denim jeans, although Terran denim is scratchy. Luxian denim is better, but it’s usually green, which he hates. He ends up dying it, but he only has one pair of jeans. He loves wearing a long girly tunic over his a pair of his jeans for chillin’ with his lion.

He does like the way the Blade of Marmora dress. He’s seen a few in their ‘secret’ attire.

He totally envies the original paladin armor. All but Amber’s and Silver’s Paladin armor has changed. They had to change it to keep it from being identified by the Galra, and to update the technology and make repairs.

Are there any good oc blogs out there? I'm pretty new to this rp stuff and have an oc character, but I feel like I'm the only one.

There are tons.  Unfortunately, I don’t interact with as many as I’d like...but I highly recommend giving them all a go.  There are the ones I know of:lostpaladin-violetgun-makerI also roleplay with a bunch of really nice fandomless OCs as well as OCs with Voltron verses.  To be honest, some of my best threads ever were with OCs, so hang in there, and don’t give up!I bet if you took a look at Gun-Maker or the LostPaladin-Violet blogs, you’ll find more Voltron OCs.  Oh and one more thing.  Let’s RP.  Message me anytime and we’ll plot!  I’m slower than death, but I’m not going anywhere.  This humble Shiro blog is gonna be around for a long while.

Prelude - Drabble Prt 1

[EDIT/ UPDATE 7/15/18: in the months after I wrote this, some of the details never seemed to add up. I changed quite a bit of Zusu’s information & history. I’ve changed a bit of Parlex’s as well to be more realistic and fit with new information that has come out since Parlex was created around the end of season 2. I’m leaving this posterity. :) ] ---------- I’m writing a drabble or short story of sorts, setting up Parlex’s situation before he ends up in the cell with Shiro, in the rp between myself and @lonelypaladin

(Who’s a good rp partner. Very creative & easy to plot with.Not fast, but screw being fast when you have someone this reliable and great to work with. I’ll wait foreeeveeerrrr if I have to)

I haven’t edited it for grammar and continuity yet. I had to invent a few terms as the character Zusu is from a race I created because it gave me a way to add to the depth or dynamic of rps with Parlex and his fellow paladins because I have a tool by which to introduce situations that the paladins in VLD may have not encountered previously. AND, Zusu’s race doesn’t use him/her/she/his in reference to themselves. They use a variation of ande (part of the root of their racial name). It’s because they view themselves as either no-gender or single-gender (traditionalists vs modernists). However, a human would call them hermaphroditic.

The dust settled lightly across the hard ground. The mineral and rock encrusted shell covering the Balmeran could easily be mistaken for a regularly formed stone, etched by weather rather than being the result of several millennia of being surrounded by debris and asteroids. Parlex frowned as the dust crept closer to his own boots as it leapt off of Zusu’s paladin boots and onto the ground. How he missed the meadows of Dendaren with the grass so soft it was as light and delicate as a chick's downy feathers.

It certainly made for far more comfortable beds and blankets than what they had scavenged, bought, stolen, or traded this past decade. This Balmeran's atmosphere was cold compared to its counterparts, but it was the only one left that they had successfully kept hidden from the Galra Empire.

“You’re finding the dirt unusually fascinating today,” Zusu quiped with a dandes typical fluid tone. Zusu's race had a genetic and racially cultured voice which most found to be somewhere between sonorous or melodic. Zusu's was closer to sonorous where there was a hint of a masculine rumble in the throat that rolled into clearly enunciated words in a rhythm that was distinctly poetic.

Parlex looked up, giving the fellow paladin the exact smile which said, 'I have an idea’, that any sane person would consider a solid kick to the door of trouble to open in wide seeking some solution to their never-ending war.

“I think I've found him! It! Whatever he would want… “

Zusu's eyes widened, “Silver?”

The Anden sat down on the bench opposite of Parlex's. There was no one sitting close by in the living hall. Only a handful of their comrades in arms and a few of the indigenous Balmerans eating two long tables away. At the evening meal, the respite from the work day, the tables would be full of to the camp’s residents. Laborers, and warriors alike.

Parlex nodded and sat up straighter as he began to beam with enthusiasm, “We found records buried in the last hack. I don't think the Galra realized what they had. Probably dating back a century… or even within a decade or two of when we lost Silver.”

“Parlex…” Zusu's melody faltered with a degree of emotion that an Anden seldom showed. Softly ande continued, “ We can't do this again. You can't do this again. The rea.. “ Zusu quickly caught ande-self and amended, the original guardian is back. We need to find it, not the lost ones. Give it up, please.”

Immediately Parlex glared, his one natural eye drawing tight as there was a brief turn in the lens in his cybernetic eye which Zusu equated with the same inherent frustration Parlex's natural eye had just demonstrated. Violet's paladin hissed.

“And what? What are we going to do when we find them? Tell them we're sorry but we only have half a guardian to help you with?! We've been fighting for years, and where has this other guardian been? Lost? You really think that it's not another ploy!

Zusu frowned,  voice resuming its normal rhythm as Zusu studied the tension burning through ande fellow paladin. Parlex's eye glowed with the same intensity as the paladin's partner, Violet.

“The dictator has been dethroned, though temporarily. I received the confirmation not long before you signaled me. Cobalt went through and the probability is in compliance with our database. The original has returned and Zarkon has retreated. Unseen, but unfortunately not dead.”

“We will sing the stars alight with new fire, a hundred worlds reborn with our celebration when the manak is dead.”

He is part Altaen and part Galra. He’s actually less than one half Altaen, but it shows. His left eye is a cyborg eye. I’m still working on it. He’ll have the middle head thing the Galra have (that little strip), but he also has these quasi-braided pig tails for his hair. The actual skin and hair colors come later. I’m just trying to piece things together right now so all the parts are in the right place.

// Working on Parlex’s design. I had to toss around a few ideas and I’ve decided that Parlex is either a male full Galra or about a quarter Altaen & Galra.

Right now the idea is that he has a cybernetic eye, a few Altaen traits, and maybe a cybernetic lower right arm.

I’m thinking of having the components of Violet’s original bayard incorporated into the lower right arm. It’s just an idea.

Unlike the original Voltron, the Voltron Violet is a part of has been semi-active during the last 10,000 years. Not all five ‘lions’ were equally as active, but Violet and the other arm of this Voltron have been the most active.

Parlex isn’t the first paladin of Violet. The others lived their lives and Violet had to find new paladins after their passing, whether it was naturally or cut-short.

Prisoners

Shiro groaned and rolled onto his side. Only a moment ago the cell door had slid shut after he had been tossed in.  The smell was all too familiar.  In the complete darkness Shiro gave in to his emotions and cried.  It was too awful to accept; he was in Galra captivity again. Already he’d been sprayed, beaten, and claimed by one of the captains.   Knowing what was in store, Shiro wept brokenly in the tiny cell.   @lostpaladin-violet
