Comedian David Baddiel hosts a podcast in which he was told the story of an alleged romance with singer David Bowie while he and Mick Jagger were on holiday in Mustique. "This woman was sixteen at the time, and Bowie would have been in his forties," Baddiel said. But was Bowie really in the habit of seducing teenagers when he was middle-aged? It appears so. Two women who were under the age of consent when they claim they slept with Bowie have come out. Lori Mattix, a young black girl who had a liasion with him at age 14, explained she never thought he was a pedophile, just that he would "f***k anything." He had an open marriage with wife Angie, who he married in 1970. She wrote in her autobiography, "David made a virtual religion of slipping the lance of love into almost everyone around him." Some lovers they shared, others they did not. In 1972, he was with Cyrinda Fox, a 19-year-old model. Bowie has been described by some friends as a "sex addict."
Lori Mattix: *What I remember most about the E Club was Bowie. I met him when he was doing the Spiders from Mars tour. I had not yet turned 15 and he wanted to take me to his hotel room. I was still a virgin and terrified. He had hair the color of carrots, no eyebrows, and the whitest skin imaginable. I grabbed on to [DJ and club co-owner] Rodney Bingenheimer and said I was with him. So we all just hung out and talked. I had probably kissed boys by that point, but I wasn't ready for David Bowie. Next time Bowie was in town, though, maybe five months later, I got a call at home from his bodyguard, a huge black guy named Stuey. He told me that David wanted to take me to dinner. Obviously, I had no homework that night. Fuck homework. My father was deceased, and I wasn't spending a lot of time at school anyway. I said that I would like to go, but I wanted to bring my friend. She was dying to sleep with him. I figured she would sleep with him while I got to hang out and have fun.
So we sat at this corner table in a private room. Stuey rolled enormous blunts. We then got to the Beverly Hilton and all went up to Bowie's enormous suite. I found myself more and more fascinated by him. Bowie excused himself and left us in this big living room with white shag carpeting and floor-to-ceiling windows. Stuey brought out champagne and hash. We were getting stoned when, all of a sudden, the bedroom door opens and there is Bowie in this red and orange and yellow kimono. He asked me to come with him, and walked me through his bedroom and into his bathroom, where he dropped his kimono. He got into the tub, already filled with water, and asked me to wash him. Of course I did. Then he escorted me into the bedroom and de-virginized me. He then had a threesome with me and [Sable Starr] and it was my first threesome. Me and [Sable] were both fucked up. I saw David many times after that, for the next ten years. *
Dana Gillespie also claimed she had sex with Bowie when she was 14, but he was 17 at the time. She said they slept together after meeting him when he performed at the Marquee in Soho in 1964.
Bowie would later face rape allegations in 1987 from 30-year-old Wanda Nichols. She filed a criminal complaint and claimed the British entertainer may have exposed her to AIDS and asked a judge to order the singer to take a test. She testified before a Dallas County grand jury, however the judge refused to indict Bowie to insufficient evidence.

Lori Mattix (sometimes known as Lori Maddox) was born in Los Angeles in 1958. When she was 13, Lori made her entry into the rock n roll scene with Sable Starr. They were regulars at the Rainbow Bar & Grill, Rodney’s English Disco, the Continental Hyatt House (the notorious “Riot House”), and the Whisky A Go Go.
Lori Mattix became a teen model for several magazines including the Star magazine, the most popular of the time. Lori’s petite frame, large brown eyes and masses of chestnut curls drew her many admirers. It was reported that she lost her virginity to David and Angie Bowie at 13.
When a photo of her was shown to Jimmy Page, he quickly became infatuated with her. He was still dating Miss Pamela of the GTO’s (later Pamela Des Barres) during this time, but when he was in LA in 1972 on the Zeppelin tour Jimmy Page went after Lori Mattix.
Lori avoided Jimmy Page’s advances several times. She admitted that she was frightened of him. Finally Led Zeppelin’s tour manager “kidnapped” her and brought her to Jimmy’s room at the Hyatt.
In an interview for the Hammer of the Gods, a biography of Led Zeppelin, Lori Mattix said that the room “was dimly lit by candles… and Jimmy was just sitting there in a corner, wearing this hat slouched over his eyes and holding a cane. It was really mysterious and weird… He looked just like a gangster. It was magnificent.”
The love affair of Jimmy Page and Lori Mattix started that night. It was kept secret since she was only 14 and Jimmy was still dating Pamela. His relationship with Pamela ended dramatically when he took her to a party for the band but left with Lori.
Accounts during this time said that Jimmy and Lori were very much in love and for the next year and a half she traveled often with the Led Zeppelin band. But when Lori turned 16 he left her for Bebe Buell, the Playmate who had recently been living with Todd Rundgren.
Bebe was Jimmy’s date for the Swan Song soiree, which Lori found incredibly upsetting since she was still in love with him.
Out of her mind on Quaaludes, she stumbled around the party, bloodying her nose and soaking her white gown in blood. When Bebe and Jimmy were leaving the party, she cornered them, screaming at Jimmy, “Why are you doing this to me?” but he ignored her and went to the Rainbow Room where he had a huge fight with Bebe over his cruelty to Lori.
Lori went to the Hyatt the next day where she found Jimmy and Bebe in bed together. She fled but came back later and knocked on the door. When Bebe opened the door with the chain on it, Lori reached through, grabbing Bebe’s hair and trying to drag her out.
Jimmy watched his former and current girlfriends fight it out from the safety of his room, laughing hysterically.
Lori drifted out of the groupie scene and briefly got back together with Jimmy in the early 1980s. She supposedly never got over the pain of their first breakup but has gone on to a stable career as a buyer in LA and has a son.
Just like Sable, Lori’s style was an amalgamation of trash and full-on glamour. Often wearing hot pants with halter tops made from long, thin scarves that barely covered her pre-pubescent breasts, Lori was just as likely to wear a vintage 1940s satin gown with a mink stole.
Even in her trashiest outfits, her huge smile lights up the snapshots and she never appears as cheap as Sable sometimes did. More openly romantic than her good friend, it isn’t hard to see how she was so deeply affected by the events of her teenage years.
After drifting out of the groupie scene, Lori Mattix held a series of jobs. She worked as a buyer and manager at a fashion boutique in Los Angeles. Lori occasionally gives interviews where she talks about her groupie days, especially her relationship with Jimmy Page.

Jimmy Page's Underage Girlfriend
Tumblr media
Jimmy Page, born on January 9th, 1944, is undeniably one of the most famous guitarists of all time, from the household name band, Led Zeppelin. In 1972, when Zeppelin was really gaining traction, Page entered into a relationship with “baby” groupie Lori Mattix (or sometimes known as Maddox), who was 13 at the time. There does not seem to be any information from any of the band members on what went down, how it went down, or even how they felt about the situation, but it seems that at least the manager of the band knew that what Jimmy was doing was wrong.
The only information we can really go with is from what Lori herself has said over the years, of which the story changes nearly every time, to whatever version that she feels alright with telling. Not to be harsh, but it is hard trying to find the truth when the only person willing to talk tends to change the situation.
I want to start with the facts and some background first, that are for the most part (unless proven otherwise) are undeniable. Lori Mattix was born in November of 1958, and one of an unknown amount of children, but interviews have implied that she had a  sister. In one interview, Lori stated that her father was dead (while other articles simply put that her father was not in the picture), at least by the time she was 13. In a video interview, Mattix states that she started out as a model in ‘Star Magazine’ which was an early 70’s pre-groupie publication. She stated that the magazine highlighted the young girls as being groupies, when in reality they were just models.
Lori states that the first person she had ever had sex with, and lost her virginity to, was David Bowie. To save pages of story from different times that she’s said different things, I will condense it to: there is no proof that Lori had ever even met David Bowie. There are pictures of her with Jimmy Page for sure, and pictures of her with Iggy Pop, but this instance with Bowie is essentially all text. Further, before delving too deep, many people have pointed out continuity errors of her having been ‘deflowered’ (her words) by Bowie before having met Page, yet stories that she’s told of how and when she met Jimmy do not add up to what would have been after the Bowie incident.
Even more confusing, despite there being proof of the relationship between her and Jimmy Page, the story differs between on how they met. On one account, Lori states that he essentially kidnapped her, another, she is alluded to having been at the Whiskey-a-go-go from another groupie, to having met him at his place in the hyatt with another groupie, and even further, that Jimmy contacted Lee Childers to set up a date for him to meet her.
Most sources seem to agree that Lori and Jimmy were together from the time she was either 13 or 14 up until she was 16.
Whenever she talks about the situation, Lori looks back on her time with Jimmy (if it even ever happened at all) fondly. Never having felt like the relationship was unusual, she believes that he was in love with her. According to Lori, Jimmy asked her mother for permission to date her, to which she agreed. Allegedly, Lori’s mother used to be an agent, and stated that her daughter was like Priscilla Presley.
Somehow, Mattix was able to insert herself into the situation of the Drake Incident, when Zeppelin were robbed of 200,000 dollars. She stated that the FBI were “all over them” and Peter Grant told her to get out of the hotel or else Jimmy would get in trouble.
When asked if she felt like Page exploited her, she stated that she “felt blessed”. Mattix would receive letters telling her that he was a pedophile, but she stated that she never thought of him like that.
Eventually the relationship ended when Jimmy was found in bed with another groupie, Bebe Buell.
Allegedly, the last time Mattix saw Jimmy in person, as adults, he said to her, “Lori, we were both children back then.” Lori stated that she thought to herself, “At least one of us were.”.
