MODELING WAS SOMETHING that came naturally to Y/N L/N and it was something she had been interested in for years. There had been many passions of hers that didn’t really stick but she was happy that this one did. She had gotten to experience so many things because of her job but meeting her girlfriend was definitely the highlight.

The couple had been together for a few years now and everything still felt new, no matter how many time they did things with one another. Y/N and Lorine were the most supportive of one another and their careers, which weren’t the same, but they still got to have similar schedules. They understood each other more than anyone else did and it felt as though they were seen.

The two women were always going to the other’s events; no matter if it was concerts, photoshoots, parties, etc. That’s how Lorine ended up watching her girlfriend with a smirk on her face. The L/N stood in a short black dress that looked as if it could be tame lingerie. The older woman would be the first to say how hot her lover looked. It was impossible not to let her thoughts run wild.

A company had reached out to the H/C haired girl and wanted her to model some of their new dresses for a magazine, which she agreed to. The outfits fit her perfectly and she felt this sense of confidence pouring from her being, which definitely helped her do better.

The photographer took the last picture of the dress that he needed, that being the last one in general. She thanked him before going over to her girlfriend, the two walking into the dressing room. It was just the two of them so Lorine took this opportunity to share her thoughts with the one she loved.

Her lips captured Y/N’s in a heated kiss, it taking the younger woman by surprise but it was a nice one. Her arms brought the other girl’s body closer to her own, their chests almost touching. They only pulled away to breathe and Y/N laughed.

“Damn, this must really turn you on.” Y/N didn’t hesitate to comment on the kiss and the aura that her girlfriend was giving off.

Lorine nodded, “You have no idea.”

The brunette’s hands wondered up and down Y/N’s body before resting on her hips. Her gaze was intense but it was the best kind on intensity. She wasn’t hiding anything from her partner, no matter where they were at. Lorine and Y/N were always so open with each other and it sometimes shocked those around them, but they loved how things are.

“Darling, I’ve been thinking about you all day. I’ve been waiting for the moment when I can have you to myself.” After speaking, the brunette leaned down and started leaning a trail of kisses down Y/N’s jaw and neck.

This caused the H/C haired woman to move her neck to the side, allowing her lover to have more access and control. She would be lying if she said she hadn’t thought about this too but had been able to push it down long enough to finish her job.

Lorine Talhaoui and Y/N L/N never failed to make each other feel the euphoria that they enjoyed so much. Every time was always better than the last.

The Swedish woman stopped her actions momentarily to whisper in Y/N’s ear. “This dress would look better on the floor. How badly do you want me?”

The tone of Lorine’s voice made Y/N to bit her lip, the aching for her lover growing with each second that passed by. She started to forget where they were but the remembered.

“We can’t do this here—“ she trailed off, not caring deep down. Honestly, the whole situation turned her on. This would not be the first time where things had occurred when the two women finished working.

Her words earned a chuckle from her girlfriend. “Angel, I don’t really think you care as much as you’re claiming. Am I right?”

Both women knew that Y/N didn’t have to answer that question. Lorine was right and she didn’t have shame in admitting it. “Just shut up and kiss me.”

“Someone’s impatient,” the brunette teased before bringing her girlfriend back into a kiss. It was filled with passion and love but also desire.

A moment later, Lorine pulled away with a smirk returning to her features. “I want that dress off of you so I can reward you for your hard work, my love.”

Y/N L/N didn’t have to be told twice, the H/C haired girl pulling the dress down her body with some help from her lover. The time after that was a blur with Lorine showing Y/N the time of her life.

It's honestly amusing to me how this year Sweden kept making fun of Käärijä, how they kept the "haha, imagine Finland would've won last year, then there'd be milkmaids, Moomins and Käärijä as interval acts, wouldn't that be crazy" attitude for both semis and the final, and then proceeded to give us these absolute bangers of interval acts:

1. A song about EBU's spoke person wanting to bang Martin Österdahl (paired with continious booing from the crowd lmao).

2. Loreen, singing two different songs which sound completely the same, with the most hideous staging on Earth (I'm sorry, Loreen fans, but it looked like she got stuck in the dentist's chair).

3. Creepy AI (?) ABBA holograms. Sorry once again, but they were hard to look at, I'm glad they weren't there for long.

You know what? I WISH there were milkmaids, Moomins and Käärijä. That would've been really fun.

Oof yeah, here's a post detailing it ... here another... Basically they've absolutely flipped over the fact that Finnish public didn't give Loreen points at all (which I find absolutely hilarious) and suddenly started wielding such rhetoric as "the former eastern part of our kingdom" referring to Finland, which is???? like??? do I even need to say how Not Okay that is?

It might seem to some that the Finnish people are reacting to Sweden's (unfair) win and them being sore winners (which, points to them, I didn't know was possible!) with too much drama, but it's all tied to our history together. Finland has traditionally seen itself, and has been seen by other countries (Sweden included) as the sort of "little brother" to the more advanced, better-faring, glorious Sweden. While Sweden to my knowledge doesn't much care about what Finland gets up to (perhaps overlooking/ignoring us and our merits), Finland is always comparing itself to Sweden and trying to live up to it. It's a very common rhetoric and sort of, the atmosphere over here. We know more about Sweden than Sweden knows about us; we're constantly conscious that Sweden exists. Sweden gets talked about in international news; Finland, if mentioned, is often tied to - you guessed it - being Sweden's neighboring country.

We used to be part of Sweden for 600 years. During that time, Swedish was implemented as the language of the culture and the "civilised" whereas the finns living in the eAstErn pArT oF tHe kiNgDoM were seen as "wild" and "uncivilised" and just, generally a lesser people to the Swedish speaking population. We haven't been under Sweden's rule for some 200 years and STILL we can't seem to shake their influence on us. Swedish is still a mandatory language to learn at school (and I have many opinions on that, but that'd be another post). Finnish as a language has been disregarded for its whole existence. Our leading national thinkers and poets in the 19th century, who were the first ones to really push for the Finnish identity instead of us seeing ourselves as part of Sweden or Russia, wrote in Swedish. The first novel in Finnish was published in 1870.

So this is monumental to us, to have the whole word watching Finland and not Sweden. Finland has a lot of merits, especially considering how small a people we are (just 5,5mil). To have a song in our language, in Finnish be this popular, is something we couldn't have imagined. We as a people are humble to the extreme, so much that we might easily scorn anyone who is too successful (not a good thing!), and this is the first time in my life that I'm seeing the whole country rally behind someone like this. When we say "Our Jere" we mean it with our whole hearts. We're so so proud of him, everyone is, and for once Finnish people seem to think in unison that someone deserves all the praise and the success.

SO, to have Sweden in this UNIQUE moment of Finland raising its head and being "we're so amazing", with the rest of Europe going "yes you're so amazing!!", spew rhetoric like this, is just, unbelievable to me. Like I can't just believe that in the 21st century there are people in Sweden who hold up 200 year old thought patterns of our country. It's been shocking 'cos though there's always been rivalry, it's felt more... tongue in cheek. We "love to hate" Sweden over here. It's been "I hate Sweden (affectionate)". But now we find this unbelievably condescending and belittling attitude towards us raising its head, and we wonder, we thought we two were okay?? But have they always held these beliefs???

So there's a sense of betrayal in the air as well. And just, full on disbelief. And maybe we're starting to see that it has been like this all along, but we've decided to turn a blind eye to it? True colours shining through? Perhaps not... but yeah.

I think the most frustrating thing about this is I don’t even dislike Tattoo? I know a lot of other people do. You’re all valid, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s fine. Just fine! Definitely deserved to qualify for the final! Probably should have been on the left side of the leaderboard, no worries! I wouldn’t even object to a top 10 result! Loreen is a good singer and there is a reason she won the competition with a very similar song before!

In another world, this song would’ve been shuffled into my eurovision playlists like any other decent entry. I’d mostly forget about it until I heard it again, at which point I would remember the stupid fucking panini press staging, grin for a bit, then move on with life.

except I’m so pissed on Finland’s behalf and the way the votes went down that it is legitimately hard for me to appreciate it. I don’t want to dislike it but I can basically feel my opinions of the song shifting to match my opinions of the circumstances. I can feel my opinions of Loreen herself shifting, too, which is really frustrating because I know this isn’t her fault at all, but it feels like she’s stolen it

this is just. not a satisfying result. not for Finland who were completely robbed. not for the entire audience, who voted against the jury so strongly and for nothing. not for Loreen, who must have heard that the crowd wasn’t on her side and I can’t even imagine what that must’ve felt like.
