But yes, I think... I think there are more things at play wrt Louis, Armand and Daniel, and the interference someone must have wielded.

I mean, in Sausalito Louis supposedly asked for his memories to be removed - something I can only see happening in very specific circumstances.

And it is said that they "abandoned Daniel" and that Daniel "woke up in a parking lot"... but not when.

I think there are past chunks missing, reasons are missing.

I think, ultimately Armand ran into the same trap as he did in the books, namely that he loved Daniel so much, but could not bring himself to turn him. Other than in QotD though, neither time nor Akasha forced his hand.

But something happened nonetheless, something that made Daniel return to his life, grow old, albeit closely tracked by his previous vampire companions.

I am not 100% sure if it is Louis who made Armand "let" Daniel grow old... but I do think it's someone :))

(And yes, I am exploring this angle in my fic, that's why I tagged them on it :))

Question..how long was Claudia with Louis and Lestat before she ran away and then after they allowed Lestat to come back?

I don't really know?

It's mentioned a few times that she was turned at 14, and when she killed Charlie, she mentions that she was 19, so presumably she was with them for at least five years before the 7 that she leaves. Then for 6 years, she and Louis live without Lestat. And if she's 36 (which may or may not be accurate but I think it's what she says in The Thing Lay Still) at the party in 1940, then that would mean that they live together again for about another 4 years after they allowed Lestat to come back.

I don't know how accurate this is because there's supposed to be some inconsistencies with dates in Louis' story. But I'd say that's probably a rough estimate. Also I might have fucked up the math.

Love waking up to the Armie love..and might I just say..Totally agree with the anons!

I NEVER pay attention to celeb scandals. But based on Armie's performance alone, I took the time to research him. You can't watch his interviews objectively and come out believing half the stuff you read. Unless you just want to hate on him. He embodied everything about Oliver because he IS Oliver. No one could have done it better. You see the intelligence and depth behind his eyes when he drops his guard. There is so much more to him than his looks. I'm not gonna lie, it's embarrassing, but I would watch some of his interviews and want to cry thinking what he went through. I will never understand why they went after him so hard..other than jealousy and people's love to tear others down. They are doing it to Timothee now. No wonder he hides so much.

Anyway. Armie is Oliver and he deserved way more recognition for his performance than he recieved but hopefully we will get a chance to see him at his best again. Judging by the reaction everytime he posts something, we are not alone in anxiously waiting his return to the screen.

A lot of your anon asks read like people who are hoping that Loustat is not the main focus. They seem to WANT lestat with anyone else other than Louis. Personally I don't see them wasting the chemistry or limited episodes on too much else.

Of course there will be an exploration of Nicki, a formative relationship for him. I'm sure he is going to tell his side of the thing with Armand which wasn't even a relationship but a near r*pe, and his dynamics with his Mom which will be an interesting character exploration since her abandonment of him formed his personality alot as well. This isn't even mentioning his horrific turning by Magnus or the Rock star arc which is to tell his story and protect Louis.

It's just his story is so dense there aren't going to be enough episodes to have him banging everybody but Louis and those two, as the show runners say, are the story.

His story just has so many layers

Granted, in the books, it ... can seem as a bit of a wild ride, focus-wise, but then these "romances" are ever just parts of a bigger picture, which spans 13 books.

I... don't blame show watchers who maybe have only heard of certain things about the chronicles to be confused as to how all that will fit with Loustat being endgame.

The next season will have a lot of past relationships, and Louis simply can not be a part of those. And I agree, the Lestat in the present... will definitely not have time for other relationships :)) - but then, he never wanted those. He wanted Louis, feeding-flings aside or not (which, btw, Louis has, too, when he lets go and actually goes feeding).

The show - and everyone on it - has been crystal clear as to where the focus lies, and AMC did not even ship bait for season 2.

That alone should make some things very clear, imho.

And I personally cannot wait to see them properly interact, given the few glimpses we got so far!!!!

(Also AMC would be plain stupid to break up the lightning in a bottle that is Jam Reiderson.😅 But that just as a note.)

Hey there. You know, I wish everyone is interested in this show would be like me. I watched the movie back in 94, read the first book immediately thereafter and just kind of casually observed and didn't dive deep into the whole universe. But after the show came out I realized I wasn't catching everything so I went back and read the books, the first three at least, and I follow blogs who respect the books but also love the show.

There are just too many details and things that will easily get missed and people are so willing to just settle on what they've seen. This is not Twilight, not to disparage it, but you are not going to get hit over the head with facts here. Plus, they are changing some things.

It just makes for a better experience if you realize there are things you just don't know and are willing to find out.

Besides it makes the rewatches all the more fun to see things that you are just discovering after having seen it multiple times before.

But yes, there are just soooooo many details and references, true, but what is most needed is imho... curiosity. To look beyond the surface.

And yes, I wished everyone would do it as you do dear :) I guess. Because despite all the changes they are doing the books, and I think after all is said and done we will truly have experienced... the brilliantly reimagined, color-conscious show of the decade. :)

Nalyra! I am on part 9 of Little Drinks and if your telling of Lestats turn is this terrible in The Vampire Lestat ( which i am going to read immediately once i finish this)..I STG if anyone else ever says anything bad about him again, I will physically fight them!! Oh my God! Please say you took liberties and are exaggerating cause this is awful!! I really just want to cry.

Well... I did expand on what I think the show will give us in s3.

Lestat's turning is written as "rape with forced orgasm" in the book, and I do expect that to be literal (since they added sex back in), after the body language and what little he told in 1x06. The fic itself... does take liberties of course, but... actually not that many (I think), given what we got already, and given he still has PTSD up to the last books.

S3 - that part - will be horrific, there's no way around it, and I am not looking forward to witnessing that, especially knowing what Sam can do as an actor. 😖

So, sending you a big hug and... a sorry. :/

I do hope we will see some healing on the show, if we get our seasons :/

And yeah. His turning is... "only" part of the reasons why he is how he is (imagine!!!) - his life was a shit show. I can only recommend reading TVL before s3, it will give so much context to s1 &2 as well. 💕
