YES I totally agree that Toji is more morally grey while Sukuna is just not a good person despite his job. I feel like Toji is the charismatic one, like so long as Sukuna can bring them in, Toji can get them to talk. He's just always pushing ppls buttons to me and he just knows how to get their lips moving, sometimes by being a flirt, sometimes by pissing them off, and sometimes he's even gentle about it (though this one is a spectacle even for his coworkers).

Where like, with Sukuna, he's not particularly good at talking, he's just intimidating and his presence alone makes people nervous and skittish enough to slip up. He's incredibly observant as well, eyes always fixed on the tiny giveaways of his prey. A fleeting glance where they hid the evidence, a slip of the tongue, a nervous shake in their hand that says they're lying. He sees through their fear and knows how to exploit it.

I just think Toji is more ambiguous than Sukuna, although there is really nothing ambiguous about the latter. Sukuna is a bad person, justifying his actions masquerading as righteousness, unlike Toji, he doesn't pretend to be good.

Toji tries to do his job well. There is some justice in him that seeks revenge for all the unsolved crimes in the city, and it is through Sukuna - his right-hand man, you might say - that he finds this sort of release.

Sukuna acts as the weapon that Toji, being the boss and the head of the institution, cannot use freely. This is why Toji gives him immunity, gives him access to places, provides him with information and protects him. Because Sukuna is his dog, in short; his weapon.

He is a good boss, not so good father, with a lot of crap under the table.
