May the wisdom of Lord Ganesha guide you in all your endeavours. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi 2024!
Ganesha ॐ Talon Abraxas
Ganesh Chaturthi : An annual festival honours Ganesha for ten days, starting on Ganesh Chaturthi and ending on the fourteenth day of the fortnight (Anant Chaturdashi) which typically falls in late August or early September. Celebrations are traditionally held on the fourth day of the first fortnight (Shukla Chaturthi) in the month of Bhaadrapada in the Hindu calendar. The grand festival celebrated throughout India, especially in Maharashtra and Telengana includes worshipping by families at home, by people at their places of work and in public. The public celebration involves installing clay images of Ganesha in public pandals (temporary shrines) and group worship. At home, an appropriately-sized clay image is installed and worshipped by offering puja and prasad (typically Modaks and laddus) with family and friends. At the end of the festival, the idols are immersed (and dissolve) in a body of water such as a lake or pond.
Ganesh Mool Mantra
The Ganesha Mool Mantra is also known as the Ganesha Beeja mantra or the Bija mantra. In Hindi, ‘Beej’ means seed – the source of everything in the universe. This powerful mantra combines several of the Ganpathi beeja mantras, especially the beeja or the seed sonic vibration associated with Lord Ganpati –‘Gam’.
“Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Glaum Gam Ganapataye Vara Varad Sarvajan janmay Vashamanaye Swaha Tatpurushaye Vidmahe Vakratundaye Dhimahi Tanno Danti Prachodyat Om Shantih Shantih Shantihi”
Meaning : The Ganesh Mool mantra is the most succinct and powerful Lord Ganesha mantra of all. This mantra celebrates the unique and divine form of God Ganpati (Ganesha) and his powers. The Ganesha Mool (root) Mantra, beginning with the incantation of ‘Om’ evokes positivity, purity, energy and the presence of Lord Ganpati in one’s life.
Benefit : The Ganesh Mool Mantra is believed to create a powerful aura around one’s body because of the cosmic energy in the sound vibrations of the Sanskrit words. This mantra is uniquely musical and lifts the mind to a state of trance. It is widely chanted during Pujas and Yagyas to please Lord Ganesha. It brings peace, good luck, success and removes all obstacles from one’s life if incanted in the proper way.

5 Interesting facts about Diwali
Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, is one of the most widely celebrated religious occasions across the world. Here are some of the most surprising facts about Diwali that you probably didn’t know.
1. The day Lakshmi visits her devotees
Goddess Lakshmi visits her devotees and bestows gifts and blessings upon each of them. To welcome the Goddess, devotees clean their houses, decorate them with finery and lights, and prepare sweet treats and delicacies as offerings. Devotees believe the happier Lakshmi is with the visit, the more she blesses the family with health and wealth.
2. Different Diwali stories
Many see Diwali honouring the return of the lord Rama, his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana from exile, as told in the ancient Hindu epic called the Ramayana. To some, Diwali marks the return of Pandavas after 12 years of Vanvas and one year of agyatavas in the other ancient Hindu epic called the Mahabharata. Many other Hindus believe Diwali is linked to the celebration of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, and wife of deity Vishnu. The five day festival of Diwali begins on the day Lakshmi was born from the churning of cosmic ocean of milk during the tug of war between the forces of good and forces of evil; the night of Diwali is the day Lakshmi chose Vishnu as her husband and then married him. Some Hindus offer pujas to additional or alternate deities such as Kali, Ganesha, Saraswati, and Kubera. Other Hindus believe that Diwali is the day Vishnu came back to Lakshmi and their abode in the Vaikuntha; so those who worship Lakshmi receive the benefit of her good mood, and therefore are blessed with mental, physical and material well-being during the year ahead. But mostly the festival is considered the return of the Lord Rama and Sita after completing fourteen years in exile.
3. On the day of Diwali, Lord Mahavira attained his Moksha
In Jainism, Diwali commemorates the anniversary of Lord Mahavir‘s attainment of moksha, or freedom from the cycle of reincarnation, in 527 B.C.E. Lord Mahavir was the 24th and last Thirtankar of Jainism and revitalized the religion as it is today. First referred to in Jain scriptures as dipalikaya, or light leaving the body, it is said that the earth and the heavens were illuminated with lamps to mark the occasion of Lord Mahavir’s enlightenment.
4. Sikhs commonly called Diwali Bandi Chhor Divas
Diwali, for Sikhs, marks the Bandi Chhor Divas, when Guru Har Gobind Ji freed himself and Hindu Kings, from Fort Gwalior, from the prison of Islamic ruler Jahangir, and arrived at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Ever since then, Sikhs celebrate Bandi Choor Divas, with the annual lighting up of Golden Temple, fireworks and other festivities.
5. It is a national holiday in India, Trinidad & Tobago, Myanmar, Nepal, Mauritius, Guyana, Singapore, Suriname, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Fiji. And is an optional holiday in Pakistan.
Diwali is celebrated around the world, particularly in countries with significant populations of Hindu, Jain and Sikh origin. These include Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Mauritius, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, the Netherlands, Canada, the United Kingdom,United Arab Emirates, and the United States. With more understanding of Indian culture and global migration of people of Indian origin, the number of countries where Diwali/Deepavali is celebrated has been gradually increasing. While in some countries it is celebrated mainly by Indian expatriates, in others it is becoming part of the general local culture. In most of these countries Diwali is celebrated on the same lines as described in this article with some minor variations. Some important variations are worth mentioning.

Astrology suggests that a person with weak Mars in his horoscope should keep Mangalvar vrat to overcome the hurdles in life peacefully. It will also help reduce Mangal Dosha (Manglik dosh) with the grace of Hanuman Ji.
Besides mythology and astrology, fasting once a week can improve your metabolism and provide many health benefits.

Perform an aarti to complete your Puja. Then, distribute the offered sweets (Prasad) to your family.
Have food once in the whole day without onion or garlic and continue the procedure for the next 21 Tuesdays
Perform the same puja vidhi on the 22nd Tuesday and feed 21 Brahmins if possible and complete your fast
The story behind Mangalvar vrat
used to pray to Lord Hanuman to seek his blessings for a healthy child. Once, Nanda went to the dense jungle to pray to Hanuman ji to bless him with a child; on the other side, his wife used to pray to Hanuman ji daily. She used to keep fast on Tuesdays and offer food to Lord Hanuman before having any.
One fine Tuesday, she could not prepare food and feed Lord Hanuman due to another fast. She became sorrowful, slept on an empty stomach, and decided not to eat before offering food to Lord Hanuman until the following Tuesday. She went on fasting for the next six days without water and food.
She fainted early the next Tuesday due to hunger and starvation. Hanuman ji was impressed with her faith and belief and appeared before her. He blessed her with a little boy, Sunanda, named ‘Mangal.’ When her husband returned from the forest, he questioned her about the child, to which she replied with her side of the story.
The Brahim considering it hard to believe, was suspicious and refused to believe the same. One day, when Nanda was leaving for a bath, his wife asked him to take Mangal along, he agreed, but seeking a chance, he pushed the little child to a well
When Sunanda asked him about the child on his return, Mangal returned even before Nanda could respond. While Nanda couldn’t understand what had happened, he slept. Hanuman ji appeared in his dreams and clarified that his wife was right, and he blessed them with a little version of Lord Hanuman and how doubting his wife is a wrongful act of Nanda. After this, the Brahmin got happy, accepted his wife and their son, and the family lived happily. Sunanda continued her Tuesday fasts, and Hanuman ji continued his blessings on them.
Conclusion
To seek Lord Hanuman’s blessings, the most effortless process is the Mangalvar vrat. Change your fortune with this auspicious fasting and get Hanuman ji protection on your health and life.

DURVA ( GRASS ) AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN HINDU PUJAS
A special kind of grass in various Hindu puja rituals is popularly known as the durva or doob grass. In fact, no puja is ever deemed complete without offering durva to the deity. It is especially an important offering when you perform Ganesh puja.
So, what exactly is durva? Durva is a special type of sacred grass. The word Durva is derived from the words duhu and avam.
Durva brings the distant pure spiritual particles (pavitraks) of God closer to the devotee. The durva grass consists of three blades which represent the three principles of the primal Shiva, the primal Shakti and the primal Ganesha.
Durva is said to have the highest ability to attract Ganesha’s aura, which explains why it is an important offering made to Lord Ganesha. Generally, the tender shoots of durva are used in the puja ritual of a deity. These tender shoots have the highest capacity to absorb principles of deities present in the dew drops fallen on their leaves. This benefits the worshipper.
If durva bear flowers, they are not used in puja ritual, because a flowering plant denotes ripeness. Ripening causes decrease in the vitality of the plant. This further reduces its capacity to attract the frequencies of the deity principle.
Mythological Story Of Durva
Once, a demon named Analasura caused havoc in the heavens. He emitted fire from his eyes and destroyed whatever came in his way. All the demi-gods fled and sought Lord Ganesha’s help against the demon.
Ganesha assured them that He would finish off the demon and restore peace. In the battlefield, Analasura started attacking Lord Ganesha with fireballs and eventually tried to gulp him down. At that moment, Lord Ganesha showed him His original form, or ‘Virat Roop’ and gulped down the demon, instead.
After gulping down the demon, Lord Ganesha felt extremely restless due to the heat inside His body. So, the moon came to His help and stood on Ganesha’s head. Thus, He was named ‘Bhaalachandra’. Lord Vishnu also gave His lotus to bring down the heat, Lord Shiva tied His cobra around Ganesha’s belly. But nothing could bring down the heat. Finally, a few sages came with 21 durvas and placed it on Ganesha’s head.
Miraculously, the heat evaporated! Thus, Lord Ganesha declared that whoever worships Him with durva grass will forever receive His blessings.
The minimum number of durva grass to be offered to Lord Ganesha should be 21. The Durva is tied together and offer them to Lord Ganesha after dipping them in water. The entire idol of Lord Ganesha, excluding the face, should be covered with Durva. You should begin by offering the durva from the feet of the deity and then moving on to other parts.
The principle of a deity is emitted in higher proportions through the holy feet of the idol. So, the Durva offered in the beginning attracts Ganesha principle in higher proportions.
This principle is then transferred to the Durva offered later. The Nirgun frequencies of principles of deities are attracted in the idol. These frequencies are then transformed into Sagun frequencies in the idol and they are then emitted through the idol because of which the worshipper gets more benefit.
It is due to the emission of the deity’s principle through the Durva, the adverse influence of the raja-tama-predominant principles in the environment is reduced. This is the reason why a person suffering from negative energies feels more positive and de-stressed when he/she comes in contact with the Durva.

Ganesha ॐ
Jai Ganesh!

Why Brass Makes the Perfect Gift
Brass, a blend of copper and zinc, is a metal that has been revered for centuries for its strength, resilience, and aesthetic beauty. Its golden sheen, intricate designs, and rich cultural significance make it an exceptional gift item for any occasion. Whether it’s a brass pooja thali for a spiritual ceremony, brass god idols for home decor, or brass water bottles for health-conscious individuals, brass products from Hi Retails offer something for everyone.
Brass is often associated with purity, spirituality, and prosperity in many cultures, especially in India. It’s commonly used in puja items like brass pooja thalis, brass lamps, and brass idols of Hindu gods. These items are not just decorative but are also believed to bring positive energy, making them an ideal gift for weddings, festivals, housewarming, and other celebrations.
Versatility of Brass Gift Items
Brass is incredibly versatile, and it can be crafted into a wide range of items. Whether you're looking for decorative brass pieces for the home, brass gift items for a loved one, or brass utensils for practical use, the options are endless.
Brass Pooja Thalis: A pooja thali set is a perfect gift for those who want to bring spiritual energy into their homes. These beautifully crafted thalis are used in Hindu rituals for offerings and prayers. A well-designed brass pooja thali with intricate patterns and a beautiful finish makes for an elegant and meaningful gift.
Brass Idols: Brass idols of Hindu gods are among the most popular gifts for religious occasions. A brass idol of Lord Ganesha, Lord Krishna, or Durga Mata not only enhances the spiritual ambiance of a home but also serves as a symbol of blessings, prosperity, and peace. These idols, available in various sizes, are perfect for placing in the puja room or living space.
Brass Water Bottles and Utensils: For those seeking health-conscious and eco-friendly options, brass water bottles and brass utensils are a wonderful gift idea. Drinking water from a pure brass water bottle is said to have numerous health benefits, including improved digestion and enhanced immunity. It’s an ideal gift for anyone looking to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Brass Lamps and Bells: A brass lamp or hanging bell is another great gift option. These items are not only decorative but also believed to bring positive energy and enhance the beauty of any space. Whether it’s for a religious ceremony or simply to add a touch of elegance to the home, a brass lamp or brass hanging bell makes for a thoughtful and timeless gift.
Brass Decorative Pieces: For those who love home decor, decorative brass items are a fantastic choice. Items such as brass trays, brass decorative plates, and brass statues can instantly uplift the look of any room. The intricate designs and golden shine of these items make them perfect for adding a touch of elegance to the home.
The Timeless Appeal of Brass in Indian Culture
Brass holds deep cultural and spiritual significance in India. It is widely used in temple decoration, puja items, and traditional decor. The durability and beauty of brass make it an ideal material for creating items that are both functional and decorative. Over the years, brass has remained a symbol of wealth, strength, and spirituality in Indian households.
For example, brass idols of gods and goddesses are commonly used in Indian temples and homes for worship and decoration. The brass god idols are believed to bring blessings, peace, and prosperity to the home. Whether it's a brass idol of Lord Ganesha, Durga Mata, or Shiva, these idols are more than just decorative pieces—they hold immense spiritual significance and are often passed down through generations.
Brass is also closely associated with important rituals and festivals in India. During festivals like Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Navratri, brass pooja thalis and brass lamps are commonly used for prayers and offerings. Gifting these items during such festivals is a tradition that continues to this day, symbolizing good luck and prosperity.
How to Choose the Perfect Brass Gift
Choosing the right brass gift depends on the recipient's personal preferences, the occasion, and the specific use of the item. Here are some tips to help you select the perfect brass gift:
Consider the Occasion: For religious or spiritual occasions like weddings or housewarming, brass god idols or brass pooja thali sets make for meaningful gifts. If the gift is for a health-conscious individual, a brass water bottle would be a thoughtful and practical option.
Think About the Recipient's Taste: If the recipient enjoys home decor, opt for decorative brass items like brass trays or brass lamps. For those who appreciate tradition, a brass aarti thali or brass idols of Hindu gods would be a perfect choice.
Quality Matters: When buying brass gifts, it's important to ensure you're purchasing pure brass items from reliable brass manufacturers. High-quality brass products from a trusted source like Hi Retails ensure that the gift will last for years to come and retain its beauty.
Size and Design: Brass items come in various sizes and designs, so consider the space where the gift will be placed. A small brass idol might be perfect for a desk, while a larger brass statue may suit a living room or temple area.
