I mentioned that Directory.Move and Rising Phoenix are the two AUs I made that I accidentally got really attached to, but the difference between the way I talk about the two of them is really funny to me.

Rising Phoenix exists as an AU that I can talk about in any order. There's important stuff that happened with Michael early on, but it was before Lyan got involved. So even though it's super important to how things got to where they are now, it's more like lore than anything else. Michael and Lyan simply Exist now so I can tell as many individual stories as I want whenever I want and it's fine.

But Directory.Move is an AU that I WANT to play out like an unfolding story. Things happen in an order that does actually matter. Terrarium has to figure stuff out over time. Characters have to contribute different things as they come up. There's world building and character growth involved. It's not a "drop in wherever" story.

Like... it's kinda hard to explain in a succinct way but they're just Different.

pairings: sanzu x gen!reader

a/n: i hope this is good enough! *cries* (p.s i did think about it but i planned to write like the following week)

warnings: violence, cursing

mask off pt.1

breeze swept through his pink hair, strands of his hair tickling his cheeks.

the rooftop was his place to think where he didn't need to cover his face all the time around the other executives and he felt that his heart was at ease to be so high up from the ground, a rush of pure danger that he was sitting near the edge.

his thoughts were usually about his missions, mikey's words or past traitors but now it was you, a person he can't get out of his head unfortunely.

after the incident at your house, he felt the slap of clothes on his head once the brothers reached his place. rindou looked like he was ready to shoot venom down sanzu's throat but you were a distraction to him, telling him that sanzu was tired and yelled at the younger haitani to let the pinknette rest.

you then got up, noticing the comfy clothes that were brought by ran and rindou for sanzu.

you went away from them, scared to see sanzu naked again and excused yourself to make drinks for everybody. sanzu let out a sneer, letting a vein pop near rindou's temple if he was scared that he's stealing you away. ran smacked rindou's cheek to calm him down and his younger brother smacked him back except on the eye.

" little bro here was just worried that-" poor ran couldn't countinue his sentence when rindou twisted his brother's arm while whispering quietly filled with dark intent that he better not hear you say anything about sanzu hurting you and sanzu waved his hand around, saying he didn't; liking the pure rage behind rindou's eyes but not ready for another joint locking session from him.

he countinued dressing himself with the clothes the brothers brought for him but rindou wasn't done with his spiteful staring contest.

you came with the drinks and sat down on the coach, waiting for them to sit while they were busy glaring at each other (wth were they doing asserting dominance) and was thankful that ran noticed you at the corner of his eye and tap both males with the back of his hands that you were there with the drinks.

the evening went by with you shyly confessing what you were doing with sanzu with full on detail, ran sitting back with an amused expression same with sanzu who glared at ran as a challenge to do something while rindou look away at you to not annoy himself farther.

sanzu knew how composed ran could be but he could see the older haitani's knuckles turning white to how tight he was gripping himself from not jumping on sanzu. rindou then tried to talk about it, fearing what his brother will do if sanzu's smirk pissed him off pass the limit.

ran was at ease that rindou was the one to talk about the issue, sinking into the soft coach even more because if it were him, two hands were already strangling sanzu's neck. well, you were a big and confident person, surely you can handle sanzu but there were many mistakes that sanzu can do and it's either aiming a loaded gun at you as a joke, accidently stabbing you and the list goes on. it was gory thoughts but he did arrived at your place splattered with blood, he could be more careless than that.

"i'm sure sugar can handle me right?"

he pulled you closer by the waist and pressed himself in your neck to annoy both brothers further but a grab to his cheeks stopped him when you looked at him with a sly expression, confused to where this confidence came from.

"sanzu.. i'm not the one getting hot heavy when getting touched and praised"

both brothers wanted to burst out laughing because they could see sanzu's face go pink, the exact same colour as his hair. your smile oh so innocent after and he left the house, muttering curses under his breath when finally the two could shake with guffaws to how sanzu broke his facade for a moment just because you were confident for a second, you were taking out the fire in your body with the milk tea you made and tried not to fluster yourself more.

the way you looked at his face with pure mock, teasing the insides of his soul that he fell back on the floor to not let his heart race so much.

he cursed at himself since he had a crush on someone, he didn't know he could react like this. his tongue bit while he tried not to freak out when he remembered your smirk and screamed a little but he screamed even louder when a hand on his his collar carried him off the edge.

"are you suicidal!?" takeomi held him by the collar like how mochi does it whenever he takes sanzu away like a cat away from arguments with his loud mouth.

sanzu brushed himself off, walking off because his brother interrupted his thoughts and now he had to think about the meeting that he'll have in 10 minutes. sanzu was jittery though, he couldn't care less about it when his phone vibrated and he tapped the notification.

while you were busy gripping his face, you slipped a note into his pocket and he took it out when he placed his hands in them, lowkey impressed that you even had the time to write it down when he was busy arguing with rindou.

he was excited to find out about you as a person, your interests, your personality, your everything. you manage to pull him in like a fish stuck on a hook. he keeps fantasizing, wiith his confidence, he could easily tease and flirt with you but it's pretty hard since you don't falter when you're in playful mood.

you can hold his heart, don't squeeze it too hard though.

after all, one touch on him and you manage to grab his whole entirety of his being.
