This is just for fun probably not gonna do this again. I’ve been watching a lot of kdrama series lately so I thought I’d rate them.
note: My ratings are mostly based on my attention span. If it’s a good show with good characters, I usually look past acting and stick to it. Also, I always finish a series I started because I’m just built that way.
above 5 means it’s watchable, less than 5 means it’s trash and I’m dying.
Some are on going, some finished, some I’m still finishing
1. Destined With You 7/10 (Finished)
Rowoon’s acting man, he keeps it nice and fresh. His chemistry with Jo Boah…chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 So cute. The story isn’t interesting enough for me to pay attention to tho, in fact it makes things confusing. Like do they like each other because they like each other, or because of their past lives, or because of the love spell. Up until the end, the book of spells things had no relevance to the story whatsoever.
2. Strong Girl Nam Soon 7/10 (finishing)
It’s hard not to compare it to strong woman do bong soon, which is like one of the staples of kdrama. Started out way too fast paced, it was giving me a whiplash and then it dragged in the middle. Namsoon and ML has barely any chemistry. It was like they just like each other, like it was already decided they were going to be together from the start. RYU FUCKING SHIO. Carried the fucking show. His little interactions with Namsoon, his back story, him blushing at her. Everything. 2 points just for him. They did him dirty. Why do writers keep doing this? Make us think he has a chance and kill him off at the end? like wtf
3. A Good Day to be A Dog 8/10
Airing once a week makes it hard to remember the story and because of that the recaps takes time off the actual episode. I read parts of the webtoon. The show is very similar except for the part in the past life. Light and funny, but that’s it. Idk in my head i’m comparing it to business proposal (another feel good show) and it just falters in comparison. Also, idk if this is an unpopular opinion but CEW acting isn’t as good as it was in true beauty. I understand the characters are similar but him in true beauty was much better or am i biased? here he seems more stoic and he does this poses in some scenes that feels like he knows he’s good looking and it’s funny to watch 😂 like yes sir you are good looking we get it. Who is directing him to do this.
4. Moon in the Day 6/10
Good but exhausting. Every episode there’s a new plot, new plot twist. It’s trying to be so many things at once and forcing all the pieces to fit in that the main leads are neglected. Tho there are a couple of scenes where they were so cute and adorable but not enough. Before you know it they’re professing love to each other like when did that happen? Is FL the same person she was in her past life or not? Is ML in love with her or because she looks like his wife. The curse thing is also so confusing. Over-explains itself.
5. The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract 6/10
Not enough episodes to have an opinion but with the recent ones, i just think it’s cute. It’s cute and fun. Nothing that makes me excited to watch it again. It’s always the last I watch on fridays and saturdays. I like the actors. But the ML feels like a miscast. I know he’s a good actor but he just feels way too boy next door-y. Which is so confusing because I could’ve sworn I’ve watched him in another show where he was a chaebol and he was fine. Idk if it was the director’s fault but he just doesn’t feel like a rich chaebol ceo yet. Hopefully he falls into the character more in the next episodes. FL is so freaking beautiful tho and her acting 📈
6. My Demon 9/10
Visual Couple, Funny story, amazing scene. Also props to the writers and directors like how they thought of tango/fighting scene is beyond me. It’s currently the only one i’m excited to keep watching. And the story isn’t too complicated that it’s confusing to understand and still feels logical, even though it’s fantasy. 100% recommend you jump into the bandwagon. could be 10/10 if happy ending but we’ll have to wait for that.
7. My man is cupid 7/10
Feels like my demon. I like it. I kinda like my demon more not sure why. I think my demon keeps us in out toes while this show is more of a slowburn. It just feels like any other fantasy show rn obviously it’s only been two episode but still interesting. Attractive actors. Nana is so freaking pretty. ML and SL is also good looking.
8. The Matchmakers 6/10
trying to focus while watching it. It’s very slow paced and I have the attention span of a fish. That being said there some funny scenes that made me topple over laughing but I think I’m going to wait until all episodes are out and finish it.
9. Castaway Diva 8/10 (finishing)
Just started but already the scenes are so pretty. PEB can literally make me watch anything of hers she’s such a good actress. Story is very fresh and easy to watch. Don’t know who ML is yet but I have a feeling it’s not my pick. Woo Hak just goes above and beyond for her, if he’s not Ki Ho (?) I’m going to be so angry. Does FL have to always end up with the childhood love?? To hell with star-crossed lovers.
10. Perfect Marriage Revenge 6/10
It started out good and then it was just exhausting to watch. Every problems have easy solutions that the antagonists don’t really feel like villains. Very telenovela-y. I did read the webtoon so the story wasn’t that much of a surprise. I do however have a bone to pick. I am very confident in Sung Hoon’s acting skills. I’ve watched his other series previously. So why…Why is he making his voice lower than it is 😂 It’s so obvious it’s funny. I try to ignore but in some scenes where he’s supposed to be angry, it sounds more like he’s growling. I can’t take him seriously at all.

steal my heart
Synopsis: As a princess, you’ve never been one for parties, finding them boring and over the top, and yet, that’s where you met two men who enraptured you above everything you’ve ever experienced, and, while they were at it, stole your heart. Member: Taeyang/Reader and Youngbin/Reader Word Count: 7,683 Notes: for the lovely @frxggi ;)) after ten years i finally finished this secret shit ;)) i hope you enjoy ^^
As a princess, there's absolutely one thing you hate more than anything, and it was parties.
You never saw the joy in the whole get together, every snobby royalty coming along to dance and drink disgusting wine. Ever since you could remember, you've always found them boring. You'd much rather be back at your own castle, reading, wandering around the town or the castle, talking with the maids or even sleeping.
Parties just weren't your thing.
Especially when all any man at these parties tried to do was court you ever since your eighteenth birthday. Years later and you still weren’t giving in to anyone. You just weren’t ready for it.
Which was probably why you were ditching yet another party. Your parents could yell at you later, but, really. How were you supposed to sit around listening to the other princesses talk about marriage and how many jewels they had gotten that week? It was boring and frankly, you just didn't care.
You had managed to sneak off finally, heading out of the big dance hall of this castle – Prince Rowoon's castle you think? You didn't care much to really remember who it belonged to, too busy just trying to find his room. You were going to sneak out from there, down the balcony and out through the hedges until you were in the village. You’d stay at the inn for the night, and be done with this party.
You walk down the hallways, moving quietly as you can, avoiding eye contact with any of the servants. You make your way through long corridors, ones that go on and on, so long that you begin to get irritated. Any other day you’d be fascinated and more than willing to explore, but right now you just wanted out. You keep going, trying to remember important parts to let you know you weren’t going in circles. You move vases, shift paintings, and climb two sets of stairs, doing the same marking techniques you had on the previous floor, until finally, finally, you reach the prince's quarters.
It’s ridiculously buried within the castle, even for your standards, which probably meant he has probably had multiple assassin attempts on him.
That was just your guess though. Maybe he just liked a challenge before he went to bed for the night.
No matter though. It wasn’t your business. You’d be rid of this place in no time anyways.
You open the doors to the prince's chambers, stepping through quickly before closing them. You don’t have time to look around or do much else though, because when you turn around there’s another person in there, shutting the doors to the balcony entrance.
You have half a mind to scream, but you can’t help but be silenced by how ridiculously beautiful this man was. His blue hair shimmers in the moonlight that seeps through the balcony windows, framing a nice, sharp face with soft features. Pretty eyes, a rounded nose you want to kiss, and semi-plump lips that you find yourself going back to as you study his features.
He's the first guy who's ever caught your interest, compared to all the princes and dukes and royalty you've seen in your lifetime. Maybe it's in part because he climbed up from the balcony, but you're pretty sure it's mostly because of his beauty.
You're so distracted by him that you almost don't notice him rushing over to you, breaking the staring contest you had been having with each other. You quickly dodge out of his way before he can touch you, hold you, whatever he was planning on doing and rush over to the folding screen, hiding behind it. If he was going to get to you, he'd have to make noise first knocking the folding screen down.
Not sure anyone would hear it though, considering how ridiculously deep the prince's room was.
"Don't get any closer! I'm a princess, you know! You could be exiled or killed if you touch me!" The man looks at you curiously, tilting his head and smirking.
"A princess? You... don't look much like a princess," he says. You look down at yourself, noticing that you weren't wearing a dress like princesses at fancy parties and balls should. Instead, you were wearing pants and a shirt most knights wore, too lazy to put on a big dress for a party you'd be sneaking out of eventually anyways.
"...yes, well, I am a princess. You don't look much like royalty and you came in through the balcony-! What's with that, huh?"
The man laughs, stepping closer towards you and shrugging. "You're right. I'm not royalty." He's next to you in seconds, faster on his feet than before and you blink, realizing your wrist is in his grip. You didn't expect that.
"I'm a thief. Should I steal you away princess? You don't look like you want to be here." You stare up at him, your breath hitching in your throat at how beautiful he looked up close.
Why was your heart beating so fast? Why did your skin feel like it was on fire? This was utterly ridiculous.
You move your hand to his, trying to pry away his fingers from around your wrist, trying to get away from him. He didn't seem all that dangerous, but he could do anything to you if you didn't have your guard up.
"I'm- I don't need you to steal me away- let go of me. Please."
The man doesn't listen, leaning in close to you. "Are you going to go tell on me if I let you go?"
You shake your head, pushing at him, trying your best to just get him away. "Please let me go."
He listens this time, stepping away from you until he's halfway across the room. He doesn't pay you mind anymore, focusing on looking through the prince's things. You watch him carefully, rubbing at your wrist where he held you, wondering what he could possibly be looking for.
"Princess," the man speaks up, turning to you. "You wouldn't happen to know if the prince was in possession of a blue jewel tonight, would you?"
You shake your head.
"Hmm. Would you help me look?" You squint at the man in confusion.
"You want me to help you steal from the prince?" He shrugs. "Why not? It might be more fun than the party you're not at right now," he says. He's not wrong, that's for sure, but you couldn't help steal from the prince. You're pretty sure his parents were allies with your parents. If you had been caught helping a thief steal, they could easily start a war.
"Princess, if you help me, I'll make it worth your while," the man tells you. His words make your heart beat wildly again. If he was promising something that wasn't as boring as this party, then you'd gladly jump at that chance.
You sigh, stepping away from the folding screen. "Five minutes. Anything longer and I'm out of here."
"Of course."
The man and you search together, him on one side where the prince's bed was, while you searched by his mirror and dresser. You pick through his clothes, making sure you don't disturb anything too badly. A good thief wasn't supposed to leave their mark.
Not that you'd know. You weren't a thief.
You get to the final drawer, pulling it open only to find little boxes inside. It's not something you'd keep inside of a dresser, that's for sure. You frown at it before turning to the man. He's trying on a coat, a coat that is a little too long for his body and it makes you laugh.
He turns to you, frowning. "What?"
"A little big, don't you think? I think the prince is like 6 feet tall." The man's eyes widen.
"That's way too tall." You laugh before gesturing him over.
"I found something weird, I think." The man walks over to you, kneeling down next to you. His hands reach into the dresser drawer, fumbling with the small boxes inside. He's silent and you look at him in hope there will be some answers in his expression.
"Anything of interest?" You ask.
"...actually, yes," he says. He picks up a box and opens it up. You look down at what's inside, seeing a blue jewel. You're about to say something, but the man sets the box down, picking another one up. He opens this one too, and inside is another blue jewel, one that looks just like the other.
"What the..."
"Counterfeit," the man says. He closes each box before shutting the drawer and stands up. You quickly follow, frowning at him.
"Counterfeit? All of them? You're not even going to check-
"No need," he interrupts. "Either the prince has it, or they have it locked in their vault. That blue jewel is worth a pretty penny."
"...you're not going to go steal it, right?" The man laughs.
"Of course I am. What kind of thief would I be if I didn't steal what I came here for?" The man walks over to the mirror and you watch as he tidies himself up. He brushes off his black pants, fixes up the prince's coat that he was still wearing, and then slicks his hair in a different way. Every action is precise, purposeful, and by the time he's done, you're surprised at how princely he looks.
"You barely did anything how do you-
"Look so much like a prince? It's not hard, princess. A fancy coat and a nice hairstyle takes you a long way," he says. The man looks one last time in the mirror before walking to the door of the prince's room. He's about to open it up and leave you there, but turns back to you.
"Your name, princess?" You're surprised by his question, and frown.
"You're supposed to give your name first," you say. He smiles, a smile that makes your heart nearly melt.
"Manners, of course." He walks back towards you, kneeling down in front of you and taking your hand. He kisses it once before his eyes find yours, and you don't have the will to look away. How was he so charming?
"Yoo Taeyang, princess. A pleasure to meet you," he says.
You stare at him, trying to figure out where you've heard that name before. You know you've heard it more than once, but you can't place where. You shake it off, pulling your hand away from him and stepping back from him.
"Princess Y/N. Where do I know you from?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," he says. There's a cocky smirk on his face, one that you wish you could just slap away. You were going to figure out how you knew him one way or another.
When there's a silence between you, Taeyang stands back up and walks to the door again, opening it up. "You might want to get out of here soon, princess. The party won't look so pretty once I'm done with it."
"Hey, wait. You still owe me-
"In due time, princess," Taeyang says. He winks at you and then steps through the threshold, not saying another word as he shuts the door behind him. You stare at it for a minute before shaking your head in distaste and heading for the balcony.
-
You don't see Taeyang for a while after that night.
It's not a shocker to you really, especially when you figure out who he was. By the public, he was known as the Moonlight Bandit, one of the most famous thieves known, stealing in the night from royalty whenever was possible and before they even knew it was happening.
By the royals, he was known as Yoo Taeyang, his real name, the name you were supposed to look out for or call guards on if you heard it. It was a far better name than his alias, a dumb thing made up by the commoners because he stole in the night. At least, dumb by your standards.
Whatever name he went by, you weren't supposed to trust him.
You laugh just thinking about it. You had helped him back when you met, for the sole fact that he was supposed to be owing you something "worth your while" for helping him. You, a princess, had helped one of the most famous thieves try and steal from a prince.
Hilarious.
Though, you couldn't tell anyone what you had done.
You especially couldn't say anything because Taeyang had actually managed to steal what he had been looking for. It was talked about for weeks, how he had stolen Prince Rowoon's prized treasure, leaving the prince distraught in the meantime.
You didn't really care about that though. You just wanted to see Taeyang again. Something about him intrigued you, something no suitor could do. He was interesting and someone you wanted to know more about.
If only you could see him again.
Instead, you had to go to some king's castle to represent your family and possibly see if you could marry him. Your parents had been adamant about it since the party invitations were given out, and after so much pressure, you gave into their wishes.
The only upside was that maybe, just maybe, Taeyang would be there. Maybe the king had some precious jewel that Taeyang wanted to take.
You hoped he did.
Your carriage comes to a stop suddenly, the horses pulling it making noises that definitely weren't happy. Inseong, your escort, guard, and good friend steps out of the carriage to see what the problem is. You, who wasn't one to let problems be solved by others, step out too. You look to the coachmen, both trying to calm down the horses. Inseong is in front of the horses, kneeling on the ground as he picks up something.
You walk forward to where he is, frowning at seeing the glass on the ground. Inseong looks up at you when you step next to him, and he quickly stands up.
"Princess, it's dangerous- you should stay in the carriage," he says. You frown, rolling your eyes.
"How dangerous can a little glass be, Inseong? Calm down." Inseong doesn't let up though, continuing to push you back towards the carriage. You eventually give in, walking back and getting back inside.
You almost scream at seeing another person inside.
Luckily, your eyes just widen and you let out a loud gasp, a smile growing on your face.
"Taeyang!" He puts a finger to his mouth, and you quickly cover your own, effectively shutting yourself up. It wouldn't be good if he was caught by Inseong.
"Happy to see me, princess?" Taeyang asks. You nod your head, and a smile finds its way on his face. "I didn't think you liked me very much the last time we met."
You take your hands off your mouth, grinning at him. "I didn't. I'm just waiting for you to pay me back what you owe me."
It's not entirely the truth, but there was no way you were going to tell Taeyang you wanted to see him again. That was embarrassing, and a princess like yourself didn't do embarrassing things.
"Sure, princess. I'll believe that for now," he says.
"Why are you in my carriage?" You quickly ask.
He opens his mouth but closes it almost immediately after, no answer coming from him. A faint blush dusts his cheeks and he looks away. You look down at his hands, seeing Inseong's pouch in them and roll your eyes.
You shouldn't be surprised he was stealing from you.
"I'm sure there's been plenty of carriages that have come down this way... How many of those did you steal from?"
"Seven or eight?" He says, and then he shakes his head. "But that's not- I didn't know this was your carriage until I heard you speak. If I had known, I wouldn't have even set up the trap for you."
You laugh, smiling at him. "Wow, that's so sweet of you. But, it's okay. That's not even mine."
Suddenly, Inseong's voice catches your attention outside the carriage, and the both of you look to the door. He's getting closer, saying something to the coachmen, and you immediately panic.
Apparently, your first instinct when you're panicking is to push Taeyang out of your carriage while screaming.
Taeyang falls to the ground, and you fall after him, on top of him, hoping it serves as some sort of distraction to allow him to escape. Inseong would take care of you first before he went after a thief.
"Princess!" Taeyang groans underneath you and pushes you off. You see Inseong coming towards you, but before he can do anything, something smashes against the ground and smoke fills the area. You can't see anything, and as you feel around, you can't find Taeyang.
Before the smoke even clears, you know he's gone.
"Princess?! Are you alright?!" Inseong calls to you. He's next to you in a few moments, coughing from the smoke as he grabs onto you. You grab back, letting him know you're okay.
"I'm fine, Inseong," you tell him just for extra measure. "It was just some thief so don't worry too much." You hear him breathe a sigh of relief at your words. He helps you up, back into the carriage, and once more, you're continuing on your way.
You smile out your window when Inseong complains about one of his coins missing. It was probably bad to be happy about Taeyang stealing something from you, but, you got to see him again.
One coin missing was a good enough price to pay to see him once more.
-
The party at the king's castle is boring as ever. You have to wear a dress and a mask because it's a masquerade ball, a basic event for any king. You pop another appetizer into your mouth, the only good thing about this party, but even they can't save this bore fest. Really, you want to leave.
There had been no sign of the king anyways. All the other girls you had been hanging around had kept gossiping about how he hadn't even shown himself once at his own ball. It made you laugh, because that sounded like something you'd do. After half an hour had passed though, you were ready to ditch this party yourself.
If the king wasn't going to show up, why should you be there?
You take one last appetizer before setting your drink on one of the servant's trays, heading for the main door. There were still plenty of people flooding into the ballroom, so you're sure Inseong wouldn't even see you leave. You slide out easily, keeping your head down as you make your way to the gardens. The only good thing you heard about the king was he had an amazing hedge maze, one that if you looked from the balcony showed something similar to the king's coat of arms.
You doubted it, really, but being in a hedge maze in general, far away from some dumb party was way up your alley.
It's not hard to find, what with being the first thing you see when you step out into the backyard. You close the doors behind you and quickly enter, moving through the hedge maze without even bothering to take it all in. There wasn't anything fancy along the hedges, so there was no reason to really appreciate anything as you walk.
You're the real beauty was in the middle of the maze anyways. That's how every hedge maze was. At least, the one's you've been to.
You continue walking, turning corners, retracing your steps, and even taking a break until you finally reach the middle of the hedge maze. Your eyes widen at the sight that's before you. Beautiful flowers line every inch of the hedges, roses, lilies, peonies, and others, all in striking colors that make you feel so warm inside. In the middle of the hedges is a gazebo, vines tangling themselves in the lattice work. Pots filled with more flowers circle the gazebo, and looking at the entire picture together makes any flowers you've seen look pathetic.
Just as you thought, the middle of the hedge maze is beautiful, but even more so than any others you've seen.
"Trying to get away from the party too?" You jump at the sudden voice, looking around to see exactly who it was. A man sits on the ground by one of the hedges, a golden mask on his face. You move forward, stepping into the gazebo before nodding.
"They're not really my thing. What about you?"
"...same reason. Plus, I just like being out here," the man says. You nod your head, touching at one of the poles that had a vine wrapped around it.
"This place is beautiful. Do you live here?" You ask. The man smiles, laughing a little to himself.
"The first thing that came to mind was "not as beautiful as you." Isn't that lame?" You roll your eyes, nodding your head again.
"Absolutely lame and cheesy. Answer my question," you say. The man stands up, brushing himself off before walking to the gazebo. He touches the pole opposite of the one you're touching and picks at the vine.
"I do live here. I come here quite often to just... collect my thoughts," he says.
"I do that at my home too. Sometimes all the pressure and work gets to be too much-
"-and it's like you just wish you could relax for a hundred years?" You nod once more, smiling at the man.
"Exactly. You get it." He laughs once more, a laugh that resonates so nicely in your ears. You wouldn't mind hearing that laugh again and again.
"Most royals actually like being so busy... Are we weird for not enjoying it as well?" The man asks. Your hand moves down the pole, tracing the vines as it comes to sit in front of you. The man's hand moves as well, down, down, until it's next to yours, once again playing with the vines.
"...I don't think we're weird. I think wanting to relax a little makes us better leaders... Haven't you met all the stuck-up princesses and princes that never relax?"
The man laughs, nodding his head. "I've met enough for this lifetime. Speaking of meeting princesses... It's nice to meet you, Princess...?"
"...how do you know I'm a princess? I could be a commoner in disguise who is pretending to relate to your struggles," you say.
"I think your tiara speaks volumes about your royal status." You reach a hand up to the top of your head, feeling the tiara sitting there. You had forgotten about it since you walked outside, and even more so talking with this stranger. He just smiles at you as you bring your hand down, and you frown, looking away from him.
"...you're supposed to give your name first," you say. The man laughs, and you see him nod your head out of the corner of your eye.
"Of course. How could I forget my manners?" The man lifts your hand off of the gazebo's railing, pressing the top of it to his lips. The whole scene is reminiscent of your meeting with Taeyang, and you nearly miss him telling you his name just thinking about it.
Nearly. You were a princess, after all, and princesses had to pay attention to important things like this even when they were thinking about pretty thieves in the night.
"King Kim Youngbin. It's nice to meet you princess...?"
"Princess Y/N," you say automatically. Then you pause completely.
What did he just say?
"Wait, king-?"
"Your majesty!" A voice shouts.
"Your majesty, you must return to the ball!" You blink a few times, your thoughts piecing together this situation as the voices continue to shout for the king.
"Youngbin, I can't keep standing in for you the whole night! Come on!"
You stare at Youngbin – the king – in shock, not sure what to make of this revelation. You just met the king, the one who hadn't shown up since the ball, the one who was clearly hiding in his garden so he wouldn't have to go to his own party. You just met the king who you connected with, something you thought wasn't going to happen again like it did with Taeyang. You stare, and something in you tells you that you wouldn't mind seeing him again if he asked for you.
"I must go princess, but, if you'd like, you can stay here and I'll try and sneak out again. There's another secret grove that I'd think you'd enjoy."
"Your majesty!"
"I- I'll stay here then," you squeak out. Youngbin smiles at you and squeezes your hand before quickly stepping away, back towards the entrance you came in through.
You move to sit down on the bench inside the gazebo, letting out a heavy breath. You really didn't expect to meet the king tonight, nor did you expect to relate with him. No other royal person has done that with you. It was a weird thing to experience, that was for sure.
You wait outside in the garden long enough for the sun to start setting, but not long enough for Inseong to come looking. You're sure he was probably caught up in impressing some princess, or maybe Jaeyoon was here and they were fooling around as usual.
Either way, Youngbin eventually comes back out, greeting you with a napkin full of appetizers.
"I brought these because I think they're the best thing about this party," he says, holding them out for you as he takes a seat across from you. You smile softly, taking one from the napkin.
"I thought the same thing," you say. You pop it into your mouth and chew it slowly, savoring the taste of the delicious appetizer. They really were the best thing about this party.
"Aren't you wondering why I'm not at my own ball?" You look up at Youngbin as you swallow, and shrug.
"I didn't really think about it, no. But, now that you mention it... Why aren't you there? For a prince it seems understandable because their parents are there but you're the king... You're supposed to be there."
Youngbin laughs, shrugging as well. "I'm supposed to pick out someone to marry tonight. I can't rule a kingdom for too long without at least being engaged. But... they expect me to pick just anyone..."
"...let me guess, you want to marry someone you love?" Youngbin nods.
"I actually met someone. I think if we got to know each other even more, we'd have a lot in common and would be perfect but..." Youngbin smiles, looking right at you. Your heart skips a few beats just watching him. "I don't think she's the type for that sort of thing. She seems even more rebellious than me."
You have a feeling you know exactly what Youngbin is talking about, and you look down at the ground so you don't have to look at him. Your face feels hot again just thinking about Youngbin's words. How could he talk about marriage when he just met you only a few hours before? Maybe you did have some things in common, but, you weren't ready to be married yet, let alone to a king.
But even as you think that, some part of you says you wouldn't mind marrying Youngbin. At least, after getting to know each other a little more and after he courts you.
He made you want to attempt this whole thing with him, and, that was saying a lot since no one else had made you feel like that, especially in such a short amount of knowing each other.
"We wouldn't have to get married right away, right?" You ask before you even realize it. You look up at Youngbin, and the soft smile on his face helps in easing any worry you had about this situation.
"Are you thinking about it?" He asks.
"Answer my question first."
"No. We would be engaged for a while... In the meantime, I think courting you would be good for us... I want to get to know you better princess, because I've never met anyone else who thinks so alike to me. It must mean something, don't you think?"
You laugh, nodding your head. "I suppose so. If you're asking me to marry you, then I think I... can agree. However, if things don't work out... Would it be okay for us to part ways?"
Youngbin nods his head. "I wouldn't keep you tied down if you didn't want to be, princess."
"...then I accept your proposal."
-
Being with Youngbin is everything you've ever wanted in another person. Rather than being stuck up and snobby and boring like every other royal you've met, he's humble and adventurous and exciting. He's someone you want to spend countless hours with just messing around with or skipping meetings with or just talking because he's just that type of person you clicked so easily with.
It's only been two weeks together, but you find yourself falling more and more for Youngbin. He's just that person to you.
Even now, just sitting on your balcony watching the stars, you can't help but think about him. You'd be seeing him later this week, but waiting was torturous. You wanted to see him now.
"Don't think too hard, princess." You jump at the sudden voice, knocking your chair over in the process. You look around, trying to find the owner, only to spot a man leaning against the door, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
You knew that smirk anywhere.
"Taeyang?"
"The one and only. Did you miss me?" You frown and shake your head.
"Of course not. But... you have been absent for a while. You haven't even been in the news. Did you decide to retire?"
Taeyang laughs and steps closer to you, not bothering to answer your question. You watch as he picks up your chair, setting it back in its rightful place before holding his hand out.
"I came to cash in that favor I owe you."
It takes a moment for you to realize what exactly Taeyang was talking about. You had nearly forgotten about your first encounter together. It had made your night, and made you feel something no one else had been able to achieve.
You quickly shake off those thoughts, looking to Taeyang. "It's late, Taeyang. I have to get to sleep-
"This is going to be my only offer to you, princess. If not tonight, then you'll never get that favor from me."
Taeyang drove a hard bargain, apparently. Any other day, you'd argue with him, saying something about how you were a princess and he owed you, but not tonight. Tonight, you'd just give in. Something in you told you you just had to give in.
"...fine. But I really do have to be back before midnight. It'll look suspicious if I'm not."
"Sure. Get dressed. I'll be waiting at the gate for you."
Taeyang and you part ways then, and you head back inside. It only takes a few minutes to get dressed, adorning a cloak over everything so you didn't draw suspicion by anyone outside the castle, and only a few more for you to get outside and to the gate of the castle. You knew all the different hallways where the guards weren't going to be, so there wasn't any fuss making your way out.
Taeyang greets you at the gate the moment you step out of it, and once more, just like on the balcony, he holds out his hand. You stare at it, not sure if you should be taking it or not.
"You're supposed to take my hand. I don't want you getting lost, princess," he says.
"I know. Shut up." Hesitantly, you take his hand. Taeyang squeezes it, and then begins walking. You quickly follow suit, your eyes watching your hands as you walk in silence.
Somehow, your hands fit perfectly together. Your hand felt right in his.
Why did it feel so right in his?
-
Eventually, after traveling through the thick of a forest, you find yourself at a beautiful lake. The moonlight was reflecting off the water, making it sparkle and shimmer in the night. It leaves you breathless just looking at it.
"I've never seen this before," you say, moving to sit next to Taeyang on the grass. Taeyang folds his legs beneath him and starts picking at some of the flowers in front of you. They're small and white, and as he plucks them from the ground, they seem to shine as well from the moonlight.
It seemed like this whole place was just beautiful.
"Usually it's too hard to get to unless you're on foot. And, considering your status... I'm not surprised you've never seen it," Taeyang explains. You raise an eyebrow at him.
"Are you saying royalty never walks?"
"Mm, something like that. Most of you would probably walk on a man before you had to touch dirt." You shove at Taeyang, shaking your head at his words.
"That's not me and you know it," you say. Taeyang laughs and sits back up, looking at you with a playful smirk.
"I never accused you, princess. Feeling defensive, are we?" You shove at Taeyang again and turn away from him, staring at the grass in your embarrassment.
You two sit in silence for a long time, the sounds of your breathing, the rustling of trees, and Taeyang's hands playing with the flowers filling the air instead. The entire scene is peaceful, and it makes you think of sitting in your garden, listening to the breeze as it rustled the flowers and the bushes, the sun beaming down on you, bringing warmth to your body.
It makes you think of being with Youngbin, staring up at the stars together in his garden, your hand in his as he told you about each constellation.
You look down at your hand, seeing the ring that had been given to you by Youngbin for your engagement. You twist it back and forth, watching the golden stone sparkle in the moonlight. Just looking at it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Youngbin makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
"I heard you're getting married," you hear Taeyang say. You look back at him, nodding.
"King Youngbin is very sweet. He's... a good match for me," you say.
"You don't strike me as the type of person who wants to get married so young, princess. I thought you weren't into all of that... royalty crap."
You frown and turn back towards Taeyang. "I'm not. That's why Youngbin and I aren't getting married right away. We're... testing the waters, I suppose."
"So if it doesn't work out, you find some other royal jerk? Test the waters out with him too? And then again and again until it works out?"
"Youngbin isn't a jerk. He's probably the sweetest king I've ever met-
"Yeah, that's what all royals want you to think. They play nice but once you get too close, you figure out who they really are."
You're not sure why Taeyang is saying these things, nor what his point is exactly. You could agree a lot of royals were jerks and snobby people, but that wasn't Youngbin. He was different. He was better than any other royal you've met.
Youngbin was wonderful.
Why was Taeyang badmouthing him all of a sudden?
"What's your problem, Taeyang? What did Youngbin ever do to you? Did he give you too much candy or give you two too many gold coins? I mean, seriously, what could he have possibly done to hurt you?"
Taeyang looks at you with this expression you can't quite place. His eyes are saying so many different things, and you can't make out anything. All you know is that it makes you sad.
"...do you love him?" Taeyang whispers. The question catches you off guard, and you look to the ground. Taeyang's hands catch your eyes, and you see the flowers he had been picking shaped into a small circle, probably something that could fit around a finger.
Staring at it makes something in your brain click. Was this what you think it was?
"...Taeyang, are you...?"
"I asked a question first, princess," he interrupts. You stay silent for a moment, thinking things over in your head. You liked Youngbin a lot, but you weren't exactly in love with him quite yet. It had only been a few weeks. You needed more time to sort that out. Eventually, you're sure you would fall in love with him.
Youngbin was everything you wanted in a husband. He knew when to be serious, but also knew when to play around and just enjoy life.
Youngbin was like Taeyang, only with the added factor of being a royal. He was someone you were allowed to marry.
"...I don't know," you end up saying. "I mean, no. I just like him a lot right now. I need more time with him to figure my feelings out completely."
"He's someone you can have."
"Taeyang-
"Sometimes I wish I had been born a royal. Then I wouldn't have to steal everything I wanted. I could just have it." You're silent as you watch Taeyang. He moves to kneel in front of you, his flower ring held out between you two. This was exactly what you thought it was.
"When we first met, I knew there was something between us. Something I'm sure you felt too. It was an instant connection, right, princess?"
You can't help but nod your head.
"After that night, I wanted to see you again. I wanted to spend time together again. I wanted to know more about you. And then we met again in your carriage. I was happy to see you once more, and I was hoping I could steal you away from the king's ball.
"But then Youngbin did it before me. He did it so quickly. I thought I had made you feel at least something in the two times we met... Enough that you wouldn't fall for Youngbin..."
"Princess Y/N!"
"Princess, are you out there?" You turn away from Taeyang at the voices coming from the forest, your eyes widening at hearing them calling for you. You quickly stand up, tugging at Taeyang to stand up as well.
"You need to go- if they find you, they'll kill you."
"I will go. But, I have one more question princess."
"What is it?" You ask. If it got Taeyang to go, you were going to listen.
"Do you love me?"
Your heart clenches at Taeyang's words. You hadn't even thought about it before. Maybe before you met Youngbin, you'd say yes. It would've been love at first sight, thinking about it now. Taeyang was something you wanted night after night after your first encounter.
Now, you're not sure he was.
But right now wasn't the time to dwell on it. Taeyang needed to leave before your guards came to you.
"I don't know, Taeyang. Please, go. I don't want them to catch you," you say, pushing at him. Taeyang stays firmly in his place, and he takes on of your hands as he stands there. He presses the flower ring into your hands, closing your fingers around it delicately, and then he presses a kiss to your lips. It's unexpected and over in an instant, and once you get your bearings once more, Taeyang is already gone.
You touch your fingers to your lips, your heart beating rapidly all of a sudden.
You had forgotten about Taeyang once Youngbin stepped into your life. How could he just steal your heart like that all over again?
-
It's three months later, and it's the day of your wedding. You haven't seen Youngbin since last night, and all morning you've had maids and servants pampering you and serving you in any which way they can. You had to look perfect for your wedding day. You had to feel perfect on your wedding day.
You look down at your hands, opening them a little to view the folder up letter between them. How could you feel perfect on your wedding day when you had gotten a letter from Taeyang? You hadn't heard from him since that day by the lake, even though half the time you couldn't get him off your mind. If you weren't with Youngbin, you wanted to be with him.
It was the absolute worst, and now, here he was, showing up just when you didn't need him to be.
Why did he have to show up on today of all days? And why did he want to talk to you privately before your wedding? How were you supposed to even sneak out when there were maids next to you every second?
"Princess, are you okay? You look like you're about to be sick," one of the maids asks. You shake your head, standing up.
"I need fresh air," you say. You move to the door, and three maids immediately begin following. "By myself. Please. Just one moment."
Your maids look hesitant, but they give in, stepping back to their original places. You thank them and open the door, quickly heading down the hall. Well, you guessed this was your chance. Hopefully Taeyang was where you hoped he'd be waiting.
You're in your room in a matter of minutes and you shut the door behind you, lock it, and then walk to the balcony. You open the door up and peer out, immediately noticing the figure you expected to see. When he sees you, he smiles.
"You're looking dolled up," Taeyang says. You flush, looking to the ground.
"It's my wedding day, Taeyang. I haven't seen you for months after... you can't just show up like this. What do you want?"
You hear Taeyang step closer to you, and his feet come into view, standing right in front of yours. You move your eyes up his legs, his torso, and ending at his face. He's got a serious expression, one that clearly means business.
"Princess... I know today is your wedding day. It's your day with Youngbin... But I know what we have too. I know you and I have something between us-
"Taeyang, don't-
"I'm not asking you to run away with me. I'm just giving you the option," Taeyang says. You stare at him, your heart feeling heavy as you do. How could he make you feel like this on the day of your wedding?
He was the worst.
And yet, you were still listening to him.
"Before your wedding, if you feel it still... I'll be at the gate waiting for you," he says. One of his hands comes to cup your face, and you don't have the heart to pull away.
"And if I don't show?" You ask.
"Then I'll know your answer and this will be the last time you see me."
You nod your head and Taeyang takes a step back towards the balcony door, his hand dropping back to his side. "You should get back."
You nod your head again and brush past him back into your room, not looking back because you knew he was already gone.
-
You're standing in the hall with Youngbin, right outside the throne room where you were about to get married. He's holding your hand, his thumb rubbing soothing circles against yours for some sort of comfort, but it wasn't doing anything to settle your heart or your head.
You felt like your head was spinning, and your heart was hammering against your chest, nervous and confused about what you should do.
Taeyang was waiting outside the gate for you, ready to leave with you, and Youngbin was here, waiting for the music to start before you stepped into the throne room, sealing your life together.
You loved Youngbin, you know you did. A few months was all it took for you to fall head over heels.
But you know there's something with Taeyang. There's something there you've always wanted. And, you're sure within weeks or even days of being with each other, you'd be in love.
You just don't know what to do.
Either way you go, you leave something behind.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. You needed to make your choice now.
"Youngbin, you know I love you, right?" You look up at Youngbin, meeting his eyes, his soft, beautiful eyes that you want to stay staring at forever. He smiles, creases forming by his eyes as he does, and he nods.
"Of course I do. I love you too," he replies. You nod your head and slowly pry your hand away from his, stepping back a little. "Y/N?"
"I need- I need to go outside. I feel like I can't breathe in here," you say. You take another step back, and Youngbin instinctively follows.
"Let me go with you-
"No. No, it's okay. I'll be right back. I just need a moment to myself."
Youngbin doesn't look too happy at your words, clearly worried about you, but he takes a step back anyways. "Okay. Go ahead."
You nod your head and turn around, heading towards the door of the hallway. You take another deep breath as your fingers wrap around the door handle, and you look back at Youngbin, seeing him staring at you. You smile at him, and of course, he smiles back.
"I love you," you mouth. Youngbin does the same and right after, you turn back towards the door. You push it open, head down several halls, avoiding everyone who was preparing for the ball after the wedding, and finally step outside onto the front steps of the castle.
There, you take a deep breath before you start walking.

kpop rp!!??
henlo, my name is Desperate, and i would like to do some kpop rps!! if you’re interested, info below.
first off, these are the groups i’m looking for:
– monsta x – seventeen – mamamoo – block b – sf9(?) –*POSSIBLY* bts, however i’m picky
i am a multi-para, detailed writer, and i prefer no single paragraphs (unless the scene doesn’t call for more) and absolutely 0 one-liners. grammar and spelling is important but i won’t scream over a few mistakes!! i’m approachable i promise.
for the groups, here are the pairings (keep in mind we can do multi-chara rps, therefore multi couples, it all depends). characters w/ asterisks i play (if there are asterisks on both/all it means i have no preference, but if there are asterisks on both/all and one has two sets, it means i prefer them, but i WILL still play the other), pairings with multiple asterisks at the beginning i am thirsty for:
MX:
****–*jooheon*/changkyun ***–*hyungwon*/*wonho* (better at WH) ***–*wonho*/kihyun **–*hyungwon*/changkyun *–*jooheon*/minhyuk i am willing to try minhyuk/shownu or kihyun/shownu, however i don’t really play any of them so quality ≠ guaranteed.
SVT (get ready):
****–*seokmin*/*hoshi* ****–*jeonghan*/**seungcheol** ****–*vernon*/*seungkwan* ***–**wonwoo**/*mingyu* **–*minghao*/*mingyu* **–*minghao*/jun **–*jeonghan*/joshua *–**woozi**/*hoshi*
mamamoo (the basics):
****–*moonbyul*/solar ***–*wheein*/hwasa
block b:
****–*taeil*/pyo (i can possibly play him, just talk to me!) *–*kyung*/zico
for sf9 i still don’t really know who i like. together?? mostly. i have a slight idea but they may be inaccurate, and i feel like i’d be the best only at dawon, but i’m willing to try the following and if you bring me something to the table, i’ll listen!
sf9:
–*dawon*/zuho –*dawon*/youngbin –rowoon/youngbin? –rowoon/inseong?
for bts i am EXTREMELY PICKY and i wouldn’t recommend asking me abt them unless u have a good idea bc i have one going already! just warning you. i still have preferences tho,,
bts:
****–*hoseok*/taehyung **–*namjoon*/jin
alright, so hopefully you got through that! we can discuss limits, just know that i DO like roleplaying heavy topics (i will go low) but i will never force you into something you don’t want to do. i’m always a slut for angst, that’s all. i do mostly romance but i will do platonic! again, multi-chara rps will (mostly) always be a yes from me!
genres i do + ideas i like:
• fantasy • – character A os a mage, character B is a mythical (humanoid) creature, and they’ve been taught to fear each other. they’re trapped in a situation where trust is vital, thus having to make split second decisions to work together despite being scared. they’re lost somewhere, so they have to travel back and decide to stay together because it’s safer. chaos? ensues. – character A is a fairy (human-sizes, maybe a nymph, something with wings) and character B works in a black market of sorts where fairy (etc) wings are expensive and luxurious. B goes into the woods, hoping to find one using another tactic, and comes across a researcher who lives in the woods and studies the creatures (possibly character C?) and uses them to get close to character A. fairies are very trusting, so A is quick to trust B, and after getting closer B waits until A is sleeping and attempts to/succeeds in cutting off their precious wings (albeit with guilt). this can go maaany ways – etc etc
• gangs • – character A is the boss of a gang, character B is a student who’s bored with life and decides to end their life (this can be negotiated). B is walking home from class for the “last time” when they’re attacked. A comes out, asks why there are people on their turf, they run, and A pulls B into their life but not into their gang. keeps them safe. a lot can happen. – character A is from one gang. character B is from the rival. this has many possibilities. – character A is from a rival gang and is kidnapped by character B’s gang, however B is not very high up, so they simply have to look over A. bonds develop? many possibilities.
• angsty slice of life/city aus? content warning for these • – character A is a drug addict and was kicked from their shared apartment, character B is an almost homeless street musician. B, despite being jobless and close to sleeping on the streets, speaks positively with A, teaches them how to play guitar/bucket drums. that’s a skeleton, a lot can happen depending on limits! – character A is standing on the roof of a tall office building (they don’t work there), and character B goes up for a smoke/lunch/some kind of break, sees them, and either 1.) panics, yells, begs, 2.) is confused, wondering why a random person is at the top, likely leading to an awkward conversation, or 3.) is calm, collected, maybe even cold (my fave). either way B helps A down and carefully invites them home, and A is angsty af and they discuss life and A describes the lack of living in their life, etc. open ended
•other slice of life as long as there’s conflict•
still, feel free to bring me your own ideas, although i would prefer no SciFi! i love to see people discuss their ideas upon first conversation.
so please feel free to message me, and we can move to line, kakaotalk, or stay on tumblr (if you can’t do any, we can go on twitter as a last resort)! please consider i’m a thirsty rper
