READ FULL POEM BELOW ------------------------------------------------------------ I've heard of the crossroads - Where the street of forlorn hope Meets the sweet retreat of dispair. In that barren disrepair stands a single tree; With its roots as deep as its limbs are free. At the calyx of its sepulchre A wandering nebular mist nests - misbegotten - Singing a song long fogotten; "As above, so below, We each feed the other, Reaching, leeching, inching slow." I've heard the tree flowers clouds That bring rain in spades, and sunny shades. Yet, where I stand, it's also true - That these streets run parallel too, And there's no such tree, No misty mystery. So I walk on, I inch ahead, Hope and fear each at other's throats Apprehension mists the cranium-bred, Anticipations, yet, afloat.
