Every one of Mera's appearances can be attributed to showing you who he is and his development as a background character EXCEPT for the second license exam. My guy was there for silly reasons (affectionate) and I respect that
#like the first one introduced him#then there was the little scene with the rikiya clone and mera holding the hc president#then - not an appearance but - the mention of him being the temporary chairman#second license exam tho? basically a cameo#basically said 'yeah im sleepy you know how it is' and then sat down#let gang orca handle it#also complained about mic's commentary#looked 2 seconds away from losing it when mic asked the teacher what she thinks#then that was it#he contributed nothing except to be tired and done with mic and I love it#bnha#boku no hero academia#mera yokumiru#mettys posts#metty posts#bnha manga spoilers

But consider a traitor Aizawa AU. He's 1 of the few adults Eri fully trustsâthe hero who helps her with her Quirk, who helps take care of her, who makes her apple snacksâ& he suddenly disappears. She's told he's betrayed them, that he's bad now, that he's a villainâthe same word always applied to Overhaul.
She's still got Mic, Aizawa's husband, who's been betrayed just as much if not more. But it's like there's a hole ripped in the fabric of UA.
& with all the stress of the situation, & Aizawa no longer around to erase it, her Quirk starts acting up again. Doctors prescribe her medication that should help her control it, but the meds don't really seem to be working.
Then 1 day, in the dead of night, Aizawa is back. At her windowsill. He asks her to come with him.
At her clear hesitation, Aizawa tells her she doesn't have to decide right now. He's always let her take her time when she's needed it. This hasn't changed. Aizawa nullifies her Quirk, brings it down to a more manageable level, &âjust like thatâhe leaves.
She tells everyone in the morning about what happened, but there's no evidence of it anywhereâno security footage or alerts, no fingerprints, nothing. & because vivid dreams are a potential side-effect of the meds, itâs all written off as a dream. Sheâs obviously upset by peopleâs denial of what she experienced.
All of this takes a HUGE toll on Hizashi. He's probably been hit the hardest, yet he's forced to keep a brave face. He has no other choice. He can't just break down, no matter how understandable it would be. People need himâEri, the distraught students Shouta left behind, the media. The police also have questions for him; it's hard for them to believe this isn't a 2-person job, & he can't exactly scream in their faces about how much he's lost, about how close he is to losing himself too. No, he has to maintain a mask of professionalism at all times.
But now Eri says his husband was here. In her room. A hall away.
Hizashi pulls an all-nighter in Eri's room. Nothing. Figures. Poor kid. It's been hard on all of them, & it's no wonder her little mind can't process it properly. Hell, he can't think about it without verging on a breakdownâsomething that with his Quirk could be physically dangerous. His pain could level the building.
But there's no reports of an Eraserhead sighting from Eri the next day either.
Nemuriâwho he's been avoiding like the plague throughout all thisâgets wind of how sleep-deprived he is, threatens to use her Quirk on him, offers to stay in Eri's room for him. Keep watch. She swears on anything she'll alert him & only him immediately if there's anything... But there isn't. Eri also reports nothing.
Itâs the next night, just when they've decided to buy the doctors & investigators' verdict that it was all in Eri's head, that Shouta appears in Hizashi's room (a new, empty staff dormâthe memories in their shared suite too painful).
Immediately there's tears streaming down Hizashi's face. He's been trying so, so hard to keep it together all this time & now, in front of him, his husband is just... standing there. Hands raised in a pathetic way of showing he means no harm, as if he hasn't already done so much harm.
Hizashi clamps a hand over his own mouth, trying not to immediately blast out the windows with the sob that's building in his throat, gripping so hard his fingernails dig into his cheek. Hizashi wordlessly shakes his head, close to hyperventilating, & Shouta looks... tired. He looks really tired. He steps toward Hizashi like approaching a wounded animal, & it's a decent description of how he feels in the moment. Hizashi doesn't try to flee or stop him, frozen to the spot as the tears silently flow.
Shouta raises a hand to touch his face, still so hesitant. His fingers are shaking when they brush Hizashiâs cheek. Hizashiâs eyes snap closed. His hand is gentle. It cups his cheek, a thumb wiping the tears that heâs the cause of.
He wants to get mad, he wants to get mad, he wants to get mad. He wants to explode. Scream the whole teacherâs dorm awake until thereâs a dozen pros to take Shouta down. Blast out his eardrums & send him reeling from the vertigo because he left. He betrayed them. All of them. He betrayed him.
But he's not. Heâs not mad & he doesnât know why, only knows that oh god it hurts. Just knows that heâs shaking apart because this is Shouta & he canât do this. & Shoutaâs hand cups his cheek & he lets it happen & he hates that heâs missed it so much. Heâs missed him so much.
Shouta's other hand joins, holding his face so tenderly. Their bodies are close, Hizashi canât lean into himâhe canâtâbut then Shouta presses their foreheads together & from the shaking exhale Shouta lets out, it almost breaks both of them.
Shouta holds him like that. Hizashi's trembling hands move from his mouth to cover his husband's hands, to grip them tightly like he'll disappearâlike Hizashi will wake from a dream.
He doesn't.
Hizashi is shaking his head again, not trusting himself with words, but he can manage a whisper: Why?
"I can't tell you that, 'Zashi."
It's too much. It's been too much for too long, & that's what does it.
"Erase my Quirk."
A questioning look, so familiar. It's the hesitation on Shoutaâs part that finally gets that flare of anger burning in his chest.
"Just do it," he growls like itâs a threat, & in a way it is, but the anger is doused as quickly as it arrived.
& Shouta does. His eyes glow golden & good & thereâs so much Hizashi doesnât understand & he shatters.
For the first time in the weeks Shouta has been gone, Hizashi can finally fall apart.
Hizashi clutches two fists in Shoutaâs old hero costume, heaving with the sobs & wails heâs been pushing down for far too long nowâcompletely silent, nothing but harsh rushes of air.
If Shouta were to blink for even a second, the windows & all the glass in the room would be gone. But Shoutaâs got him, like he's always had him. & Shouta holds him fiercely close to his chest, lets him get it out, & says nothing.

heather
oh boy this is a long one, get comfortable!
Inspired by the song heather by Conan gray
This might hurt a little, imma be honest it hurt me a lot lol
let me know if you want a part 2
â- - - - - - r- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
you are a teacher at u.a, and you liked your job, to the extent.
of course you loved teaching all the wonderful students! they were so kind to you and all amazing, but one part in particular you donât like about your job.
mr aizawa
heâs not bad or anything of course not! But itâs your feelings towards him that you were scared about. whenever youâd see him in a hallway or teach alongside him, your heart would race, and your palms would sweat.
you hated it.
you hated how you couldnât help but stare at him and admire him. he was so handsome, and your sure he wasnât even trying to be.
and when you saw him before his press conference in that low bun? oh lord. you had one to many sinful thoughts about him that you did not want to admit
but, you hide your crush well, and would like to think that no one knew that you liked him.
so this leads us to where we are now, you and aizawa were alone in the teachers lounge, it was after hours so most people have cleared the school but you two
he was so close to you, you were sitting next to each other on the couch, grading papers together and all you could think about was how close he was. when he asked to grade papers together you started getting the symptoms he normally gave you, you were sweating, shaking your leg nervously and your heartbeat was faster then the fucking flash
âwhy are you acting so nervous?â
your head shot up from the paper you were grading, and with widened eyes you saw him looking curiously at you
âI-Iâm not nervous! Did those kids finally make you lose it zawa?â you let out a shaky laugh after, and hoped he would let it go
âof course not theyâll never break me. Even if they tryâ his voice was back to being monotone, and he went back to grading papers
you both graded papers for a while, before your stomach rumbled loudly, aizawa laughed and turned to you
âyou could have told me you were hungry, we can finish grading this tomorrow if you wantâ
you sighed in relief and started putting your papers away
âthank god, Iâm starving I didnât get to eat lunch cause mic was talking my ear offâ
aizawas facade faltered for a second, showing worry and concern which you missed, sadly
âsounds like himâ
you both finished packing up, and walked out together to the parking lot, it was dark outside with the stars swinging above you two it made you sad that youâd have to part ways.
you enjoyed his presence, you didnât have to keep up conversation you could just peacefully be in silence.
you saw your car and turned to say your goodbyes to aizawa, finding yourself a little to close then you thought
your eyes widened, and your heart started racing again.
âS-sorry!â you backed away and started blushing like a tomato
âno need to apologizeâ his eyes searched yours as he reached out towards you and grabbed your hand pulling you towards him
âyou look so beautiful y/nâ one of his hands held your waist close to his, the other reaching up to your face, softly touching it as if it would crumble from his touch
your heart was racing, you felt as if you were melting right before him
he slowly leaned in, making sure you were ok with it.
you leaned in with him, and your lips meant in a slow passionate kiss, and everything felt as if it froze around you all you felt was his arm around you, his lips on yours
you both pulled away air filling your lungs and you looked at aizawa, before your stomach let out a large rumble
you both let out a laugh, and you pulled away missing his warm arm around you
âsorry I guess my stomach really wants somethingâ
âduty calls, see you tomorrow yeah,?â
âyeah definitelyâ you smiled at him and waved a goodbye, turning towards your car and quickly got in hitting your head on the steering weel
you felt all giddy like a child, replaying the moment in your head as you drove home
....
the next day came quickly, and you have never been more excited to be in the school.
you walked through the doors and laughter filled your ears, you looked around for the source seeing ms joke with her class, making them all laugh
you quickly walked up to say a polite hello
âms joke! what brings you to ua today?â she pulled you into a hug and and you responded quickly
âmiss l/n! Iâm so happy to see you, my class is here for special training with there quirks. Itâs gonna be super fun. Also have you seen aizawa? I need to talk to himâ her voice was bright, she could brighten a room ina instant, you adored her you wish you could make people that happy
âsounds fun, and Iâll let him know that your looking for him. Iâll see you laterâ you walked to your class hoping to not be late and ran into a walking sleeping bag
âw-woah! Oh zawa sorry I didnât see you thereâ
âoh hey y/n, itâs fine not like Iâm a bright yellow walking blobâ you laughed at his joke and remembered what ms joke had said
âms joke is looking for you I saw her in the entranceâ
his face filled with a emotion that you couldnât quite tell, then went back to his normal bored looking face
âthank you for telling me Iâll find her soon, Iâm glad you bumped into me I wanted to ask you if we c-can u-um can we eat lunch together?â
your heart started racing at his question
âI would love toâ you smiled at him and he smiled back, and he walked past you and headed towards your class
you walked in your class trying to think about what went through his head and decided to ignore it looking forward to seeing him at lunch
...
lunch came by quickly and you grabbed your packed lunch and walked towards the teachers lounge, hearing laughter from inside.
you walked in and saw ms joke, mic, and aizawa sitting together eating there lunch.
they all looked up at you and you quickly noticed aizawa had already finished all his lunch, he looked like he was having a good time, you never made him laugh like ms joke did.
you felt your heartstrings being pulled and your face faultered slightly
âhey y/n! wanna join us?â Mic was being polite obviously but you knew they probably wouldnât want you there.
âyeah itâll be fun! Right zawa?â joke said
aizawa turned his head towards her and he look at her with something heâd never looked at you with
ok well, that hurt.
âoh hey sorry for interrupting I-I think Iâll just go grade some papers but thank you for the offerâ you turned away quickly, hoping to get away before they asked questions
you walked back into your classroom and set your lunch on your desk, sitting down and setting your head on the desk.
you saw the way he looked at her, and you were a fool to think you had more of a chance then she did
why would he ever kiss me?
Iâm not even half as pretty..
ms joke was a goddess, you really couldnât deny it.
you stuffed your lunch back in your bag and got ready for your next class.
the day went by slow, all you could think about was how you had messed up, letting him kiss you. you really couldnât fall for him. nothing good would come for it
your mood had dropped and all your students noticed, you were being more rude then normal and being quick to yell at them
after classes were over one of your students approached you with a worried look asking if you were ok and saying that they were here for you. you quickly denied it and told them to get going so you could grade papers.
you were going to grade papers in the teachers lounge again, but risking the sight of ms joke with aizawa was something you didnât want to risk seeing
you sat miserably at your desk grading as quick as you can so you could leave and avoid anything else. your heart already hurt and you didnât need anything more to ruin your day
maybe it was a misunderstanding right? but the way he looked at her, his smile and laugh, her nickname for him.. you couldnât ignore it and it hurt
you finished grading your papers and went to leave walking towards your car hoping to quickly be home, you needed a drink badly
âh-hey y/n wait up!â a familiar voice said, the one you thought about many times, but none of them were of him hurting you
you froze to the spot and wished to disappear
âoh hey aizawa, whatâs up?â he had a confused look, you always used a nickname so why the sudden change?
âis something wrong? youâve been acting weird all dayâ he was concerned obviously, but you could care less
ânope nothings wrong, and um about last night I think it was in the heat of the moment so we should forget it yeah? I got to get going Iâll see you tomorrowâ you tried to sound like you didnât care, but your voice had failed you and you mentally slapped yourself
you quickly went into your car trying to avoid any other conversation, pulling out of the parking lot faster than you should have.
this was good for him. she could make him happy unlike how you could. but oh how it hurt to think about them together
as you were driving away you saw aizawa standing there, and then saw ms joke approach him, putting a hand on his shoulder, touching him how you wanted to do desperately
only if you knew, how much I liked you..
i wish I were her.

I have one too many Shouji headcannons that I wanna talk about, but here's a few!
One thing is that he has some serious nerve damage in his back, like- it's not funny
He didn't even realise it was going to be such a problem until he tried exercising when they came back from Nabu
He could normally lift etra heavy weights and all that, he was able to hold out for a lot longer, and he thanked whatever god was out there that he was alone when it happened
He lifted up the weight, heard a loud crack, and was sent to the floor in pain. He couldn't move, and when he tried it felt like he was being stabbed with a bunch of needles in his back
It took him a half hour to force himself off the floor, and almost another hour to get back to the dorms. The pain from it never went away, and he didn't think much of it
He didn't even tell anyone until around a month later when he was forced to. It was a training exercise and his lower back felt like it was on fire the whole time. He and his team (Tokoyami and Midoryia) were able to make it through just fine, and Shouji thought it would be fine, they were going back to the dorms anyway
Dark Shadow was out, and was saying something about how great Shouji did, and clapped him on the back, not thinking much of it.
Shouji's whole world went white the second Dark Shadow put pressure on his back
When he came to, he was face down on a stretcher, not able to move or hear things properly. When the static cleared up, he could hear Midoryia's panicked muttering and he felt something on his head, a hand.
Tokoyami was saying something, then voices from up ahead started getting louder and Shouji felt the pace pick up, he couldn't move to speak, he just had to sit there until he felt something stick in him and the world went dark
When he woke up the next morning, he was forced to tell Aziawa, Recovery Girl and All Might about what happened and why his back was in constant pain. After Recovery Girl gave out about "self sacrificing idiots" while hitting All Might in the shin, Shouji was told he was stuck on bedrest, again.
Shouji agreed, reluctantly, and after a few days was allowed back in class.
That- was not supposed to turn into that, but moving on- to some more "can be extended on-" headcannons
He brushes his teeth at four am in the morning, no I don't have an explanation
The first day of UA he was mistaken as a second year student and got so nervous he agreed and had to have another student tell the teacher they got it wrong
He has so many extra pens and pencils because Denki shoots them across the room and loses them so Shouji has learnt to keep extra on him
If Bakugo and Kirishima were to ever get together to "study" Shouji would have to open a window because of the smell of burning rubber and caramel. He still to this day doesn't know what they do in there, he doesn't know what rubber has to do with their maths test.
The only extra thing he has in his room is a plush that was given to him when he was a kid. He's never let it go and it helps calm him down when he's panicking or stressing, he keeps it hidden in a drawer he can lock
This headcannon I read somewhere, can't remember where, but Shouji is a minimalist because he was bounced around a lot as a kid so he never got to keep anything or make a lot of friends, and to add to that his parents didn't actually give him the plush, it was given to him by another relative
Speaking of, if he were ever to be hit with a deaging quirk he'd be be the smallest kid you've ever seen, he was tiny when he was a kid, and he didn't have a growth spurt until middle school
Also as a kid he was super shy but really quick to settle into unknown environments once given a reason to trust the people around him. If say he was with the hero's they only need to say they're hero's and Shouji is happy to stay.
But he has the tendency to wander, even as a teenager sometimes he'll forget where he is and go wandering around alone, and ends up getting lost easily.
He also gets sensory overloads. It's very common for him and when he does he tends to just leave, he'll just walk away no matter where he is, if he's in class he'll ask to go to the bathroom and disappear for a while
It's more dangerous in public though, because he doesn't need to ask, and it takes forever for people to notice he's gone because he's so quiet. So when they do realise, whoever's with him is freaking out thinking he got snatched by a villain.
He also stims. I love this idea.
When he does it's really subtle and very few notice but those who do are like :0
Tokoyami notices easily, being observant like that, and whatever it is that made Shouji stim is either coming back with them or Tokoyami is taking it away.
Tokoyami keeps whatever he bought in his room so it doesn't clutter Shouji's room and lets him come and take it when he's around
Shouji and Tokoyami hang out a lot, and they're normally studying, but Dark Shadow tends to distract Shouji so it's just Tokoyami studying until he's yelling at Dark Shadow to stop trying to bench press Shouji
Kaminari, Mina and Sero are the worst influences on Shouji Aziawa has met. They lived together a week and Kaminari has not only 1. Stolen a shopping cart. 2. Snuck it into the dorms, but they used Shouji as a seat, and his arms as seatbelts, and went down the stairs in the shopping cart.
Aziawa has to drag Sero, Mina and Kaminari to Recovery Girl while Shouji limped behind them.
Aziawa has also walked in on Bakugo trying to teach Shouji to curse, and almost laughed when Shouji sat there, face blank, and said everything BUT fuck
Aziawa didn't think much of it until during training Shouji fell down two stories saving Iida the trouble, sat up, and mumbled "awe fuck" before standing up and continuing the exercise.
Aziawa forgave himself for wheezing when Bakugo cheered loudly before getting smacked over the head by Kirishima for "ruining Shouji's innocence"
Speaking of, M//eta has called Shouji "sexy octopus" so many times and Shouji's normally let it slide but one time Asui was listening in, heard it, and smacked the trash so far he ended up on the other side of the gym.
People call Shouji baby. Even people outside of 1A. Monoma has fucked up and called Shouji a baby once, and it was a "total accident"
((Kendou asked why Monoma hadn't ever said anything to Shouji and Monoma went "I can't make fun of the 1A baby, I'm not ready to die"))
Shouji is touch starved, and once the girls were cuddling, and Mina forced Shouji to join, he was in tears when they hugged him and ended up falling asleep ten minutes into the movie, he woke up in blankets and surrounded by friends
Shouji is a little spoon. I don't care if he's 6"2. He's a little spoon and I will die on this hill.
He has on multiple occasions forgotten which hand he left his phone in, and dropped it looking for it
Shouji and Ojiro watch Star Wars together, and of all people they roped Momo into watching with them and now she's hooked
Dark Shadow once threw someone down the stairs because they called Shouji a freak
Before Bakugo's character development, he called Shouji freaky, and once they moved into the dorms Bakugo became the first person to jump the gun on anyone who said shit about Shouji's appearance
Shouji. Sucks. At. Maths. I don't have a reason for this, he's really good at History and Science though.
Maths is really hard for some people(me) and Shouji and Denki do their maths homework with Momo. Kaminari once cried over it because he just didn't get it. Shouji almost followed when Momo moved on to Geography
Shouji is willing to let anyone talk to him about their problems, he's very willing to listen, but no one has ever heard him talk about his problems. When people try to let him know it's okay for him to talk, Shouji distracts them with the nearest thing, and he's even tried it with Aziawa
Back to being bounced around as a kid, Shouji still gets bounced around as a teen, just not as often. One couple that took Shouji ended up being... not the greatest people he's ever met.
Aziawa noticed immediately that there was something wrong when Shouji came in late, Recovery Girl at his side. His hands were wrapped in bandages and he sat down without looking up.
Recovery Girl said there was glass in his hands, but Shouji wouldn't tell her how it happened. His exact words were "it was an accident, he- I didn't mean to drop it" and Aziawa's dad instincts were going "N O"
This went on for several weeks, and with every day the injuries got worse and worse until one day Recovery Girl came in and asked if Shouji had shown up, only for Aziawa to say no, normally Shouji goes to Recovery Girl first, then class.
This was concerning, and what was worse is that the new address hadn't been registered, so they couldn't even look for Shouji
Shouji came in three days later, almost two hours earlier than he should've. He ran around looking for Aziawa, or All Might, or anyone who could help him.
Aziawa found him knocking on the staff room door, and Shouji told him what had happened (I'll leave that to you) and Aziawa stood up, left Shouji in Present Mic and All Might's semi capable hands, and went to beat some ass.
No one talks about Aziawa walking into class with bloody fists, talking to Shouji about moving into school funded apartments until the dorms are built.
I should've kept this one and the first one together but oh well-
During flu season no matter how much Shouji avoids it he gets sick and gets knocked down for at least a solid week before he even starts to get better at all
One time Denki caught some random bug, no one knew from where, but it spread fast and hit hard. Shouji stayed as far away from everyone as he could but ended up getting it and was stuck in the hospital overnight because of it, though Shouji doesn't remember this part
It was so bad that even Aziawa got it
All Might is the only one who can carry Shouji, aside from Uraraka but she doesn't count because she makes him float.
I have more but I think I've gone too far for today lmao
Feel free to add to these :D

âMommy? Where are we going?â Shinsou asks as he was strapped into his car seat. He looked up quizzically at his mom as she gave him a backpack stuffed with clothes and his favorite plush cat.
âWe are just going to a trip to see some of mommyâs friends okay?â She replied, giving him a small sad smile

Her eyes open, slowly, and the sobbing slows enough that she isnât shaking with it quite as much. Her hands are lowering from her mouth.
âUh-huh.â
Her voice, so small and hoarse, is all he needs. He feels the quirk trap around her mind, and her eyes fade from red to white, hands dropping slack by her side.

Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4Â Chapter 5
____________________________________________________________
Chapter 6
At the new information, I was receiving I stopped and put my hand up sighing out my anxiety then nodded slowly licking my lips âExcuse meâ I asked slowly and stepped forward âUm everyone else gets a pair and one Pro. I get no pair and ten Prosâ I was livid, I was losing my shit left right and centre. âOh yeahâ I nodded âSuper fairâ I had trained but ten Pros with ten different quirks and fighting styles.Â
âY/N,â Aizawa said slowly and I waited for what he was to say âYou are by far the strongest in your class, your quirk can be used in any situation. Your weakness is the amount, if we are all to fight you then we can see how you are truly travellingâ he explained. My hands were gripped at my sides. There was no way I was going to pass. âYou have one ruleâ he began and I laughed my eyes still downcast. âYou must show your true self to at least one teacher at all timesâ he explained.Â
I was now just standing there nodding as I licked my lips and then sighed out, again trying to understand this information âSo basically Iâm failing before I even take the testâ pursing my lips I blinked harshly trying to hold back my tears. I wasnât going to pass and I knew they had noticed my change in attitude.Â
âNoâ Midnight began and I looked down. âWe are testing you, you are so strongâ the teachers hadnât thought of what would happen if I failed did they. I shook my head and grit my teeth. How could I beat ten pro heroes not to mention All Might himself?Â
My peers were silent as I stood there seething in anger. What was I supposed to do? I couldnât fight ten Pros. I was so confident about this and now I was about to burst into tears and just tear myself apart right here. All the sleepless nights, all the coffee and panic attacks, all the studying and running my body into the ground to then have an impossible task thrown at me.Â
I shook my head slowly and then whispered out âLetâs just get this over withâ I had to watch every single second of everyone's fights. I had to learn everything. I wasnât going down without a fight. We walked in and I moved to the front sitting down in front of the TV my legs to my chest. I couldnât even blink. My heart was about to combust. I felt faint. I was glad they saw potential but not ten Pro heroes potential. My objective was to escape. I was about to cry.Â
The teachers were talking about how we could run away, I didnât have a choice. The teachers also wore bracelets to add half their weight, it would slow them down but with ten Pros it wouldnât help. The first fight was on Kirishima and Sato against Cementoss. They went for direct, a bad decision but my eyes widened as they broke through the walls of cement. They had limits while Cementoss doesnât, Cementoss was so fast and had no limit. I would have to cage him quickly and somewhere not near cement. A cage should do the trick but they took quite a bit of brainpower. It would have to be done, I could hear conversations behind me but this was far more important. I had to pass and I had that stupid rule I had to follow. I held my legs tighter, Cementoss was long-distance and had no limit. I had to remember that. The fight was over within a few minutes.Â
Then was Tokoyami and Tsu, ectoplasm had cloned. If he was in an illusion could he still use that? I couldn't even find out if I wanted to before I fought him. I continued to watch as people walked in and out. How many clones could he make, could he see through them? What was his limit? There were just so many to fight, this looked impossible. I watched as Tokoyami destroyed them, so they looked easy to destroy. I would have to find the original quickly. I knew how to control clones but were they the same as my own. My eyes widened as I saw him make a giant one of himself, how could I go around that. How could I win with a power like this? Ectoplasm also had a lot of power with close combat and distance. I had to bit that. I was shaking, my fingers digging into my legs as I leaned forward watching the next fight.Â
Iida and Ojiro, Powerloader could dig underground and hide. I would have to find a way to stop him. Though the boys won fairly quickly, speed was their key. Even though Powerloader is quick underground he wasnât too fast on land plus he needed machines for his quirk to work. I could suspend him in the air and he would be useless. My speed was good but if he made it underground I wouldnât have much of a chance. I would have to get him out of his little machine.Â
Then came Todoroki and Yaoyarozu against Aizawa. He was my biggest issue. He needed to be taken out immediately when I fought him, he could erase my quirk and I would be useless. I could rely on my physical abilities but it would still be not enough. Within seconds Todoroki was suspended and spiked objects placed beneath him with his partner now running for the exit. Aizawa also had his scarf, I had to worry about. They would come to me with everything they got. I had to think fast and hard, I wouldnât be able to stop. His quirk stopped when he blinked, if I got caught Iâd have another chance. Eraserhead was swinging through the air like it was nothing, what area would I be put in. Todoroki was still in the air as Yaoyarozu ran up to him but Erasurehead was on his way. They were yelling at each other trying to work together in the middle of the exam? Not the best time but still there nonetheless. The light then blinded Aizawa making him have to regain his sight then Aizawa was off again. Sure his quirk had lessened but it was still a lot we had to deal with. An ice wall and then Aizawa was blocked. I was only focused on Aizawa for this fight. I had to figure this out, how could I beat him? Yaoyorozu threw another scarf at him but when heated returned to its original shape, a metal. Clever but not something I could do. They won, though I couldnât win with their strategy.
I gripped my legs tighter if that was possible at this point. I was ignoring everything and everyone around me. People were talking to their partners figuring out strategies but all I could do was think. Thatâs all my quirk was, thoughts projected into the world. I breathed out trying to calm myself as I closed my eyes. Ten Pros, one me. I had to think faster than ever, my brain would be having ten different thoughts at the one time. I had to win, I had to show everyone I was better.Â
No. 13 was just sucking, if I put someone in front of her she would have to close, she may not be a hero today for this exercise but she would never intentionally hurt someone. I found that out when her pair competed against her. The second Uraraka got to close she stopped her quirk, still a hero at heart. I smirked, they were all still heroes at heart.Â
I was still sitting as I heard Iida and Yaoyarozu walked in talking to Midoriya and Tsu. Nezu was up, I didnât know his quirk. Then the area began to collapse around Mina and Kaminari. I was watching so closely as I heard Yaoyorozu talk and I sighed silently. He was smarter than everyone and could think faster than I could attack. Everyone had to be taken out quickly. The pair lost and I put my head in my legs to try and calm down. How in the hell could I fight someone so much smarter than me, I had to think faster then he could.Â
Koda and Jirou, all sound quirks. I watched them as they ran through the woods. The camera added Mic who was unimpressed with having to wait and within a second he yelled, voice loud and barreling through the woods. My eyes widened, I could create something sound cancelling, all my illusions could be it was the fact Iâd still hear him. A box may be, just place all ten teachers inboxes. Another quirk that was going to have to be ended quickly though he had to breathe, right? Or could he breathe through his quirk? I was at a loss of what to do. He made her ears bleed, his voice made her ears bleed. I was in disbelief, he wasnât caring. The ground began to rumble beneath him and then Present Mic was covered in bugs, ok so he didnât like bugs. Good to know.Â
I knew Snipe well, his fighting style and thought process. He was fast and knew where everyone was though he struggled when we fought close combat and when I made clones. Itâs going to be a lot to think about all at once but this is something I had to do. I could win, with each match I was getting more excited but nervous.Â
Midnight was strong if her quirk reached me I would just fall asleep, it came from her skin, I could have to cover her in something but I had heard it worked better on guys than girls. But what if said girl also didnât just like guys. I was screwed, I would have to keep her covered. Not too hard but still another thought I had to make, something seemingly impossible. Midnight also had her whip, I had to get her immobilized quickly and keep her there. I didnât know how far her scent could go. Immobilization was my best bet.
Finally All Might, the top hero. Everyone knew him, I mean how could you not, he was legendary. The number one hero to this day, both Bakugou and Midoriya were versing him but I had to do it alone with other Pros helping him. Bakugou was ignoring Midoriya all together, he was mad. If he was mad about being paired with Midoriya I couldnât imagine the anger that I gotta do it myself. They werenât working together. With the swing of the hand, a whole road was taken out by All Might. I had to go up against that, All Might in villain form. What could I do with something like this at his disposal? Bakugou was moving too quickly but when he was pushed into the ground I stood up quickly leaning over the bars to watch more closely. Two of the strongest people in my class were getting beat. Bakugou was just walking toward All Might not a care in the world, he was so strong and confident. Bakugou had been punched and I grimaced looking away before my breathing began to pick up, I knew my peers were watching my semi meltdown. My eyes were darting around the screen as I bit my lip in anger. Bakugou looked so angry and beat as Midoriya punched him out of the way from another hit. Midoriya was carrying Bakugou with him but my eyes were darting everywhere. I was confident but now my heart only raced in fear. My whole body was shaking as I watched them. Another hit from Bakugou, more hits but Midoriya had one of his gauntlets. The hit was massive and explosive I looked around but All Might was up within a few seconds. How in the hell did he get back up, I couldnât face him with other Pros. He was so strong I could hold him down? Place him in a box? Control him? Fear tactic? God what would work. I was biting my fingers in fear as I tried to figure out how to win. Bakugou was just kicked away then Midoriya was thrown into him. They were at his mercy. I couldnât beat him in physical strength but I could lock him away, it would take a lot of energy but I think I could do it. Midoriya was hurtling towards the exit, I had to make it to my exit. All Might was faster even with his bracelets he was faster. Locking him away would be my best bet, my only chance at winning. I was going to win, I was going to work my body and mind harder than ever. Bakugou had such strong attacks, how could he do this. How could he use such power and not fall, how could he do this? I was at a loss, Bakugou had so much strength in his body, so much raw power and stamina. The boys were then running to the exit. They won, they both fucking won. I had to verse that, if they could win, I could win, right?Â
When they won my legs collapsed as I fell to the ground, All Might would take a half an hour break then it was my go. I was shaking on the ground my breathing harsh and loud Recovery Girl ran to me.Â
âY/N breatheâ I couldnât breathe, how could I even think to breathe going up against them. âY/N you need to breatheâ I was going to fail, I was never going to become a hero. They gave an impossible mission, something I couldnât do. I had nothing, how could I win this. âY/Nâ she was yelling in my ear as I sucked in the air but never out.Â
My head was grabbed and I looked up to see Todoroki on his knees and looking into my eyes âY/N you need to breatheâ he breathed slowly and I tried to copy and then just looked down as I breathed out then in Oxygen flooding my cells.Â
âIâm going to failâ I looked around, Todoroki and recovery girl were the only ones here, then others Iâm sure going to see Miodoriya. âI canât win, my quirk canât beat ten Prosâ I whimpered, Todoroki now kneeling in front of my crouched figure.Â
âI believe in youâ he whispered and I rose my head, why was he always around when I was a mess. âYou can win, your quirk is amazing, youâve been training and studying for so long. Donât let a little stress take away your futureâ he was right. I nodded as I sighed out licking my lips.Â
âYouâve been watching them, I know you know all their weaknessesâ I nodded agreeing âYou just need to put them in use. You can do itâ I wasnât sure if she was allowed to encourage me but I appreciate it nonetheless.Â
I stood up shakily and nodded sternly, I had been a mess these last few weeks. I knew how to win, everyone began to walk in as I narrowed my eyes. I had to be confident, smirking I turned to Recovery Girl âMake sure to have the volume upâ she nodded. Minutes ago I was having a panic attack but I took a page from Bakugou, turning anger in power. I had to use everything every ounce of anger I had. I squeezed Todorokisâ hand as I passed and then I was walking off out the door and down the halls.Â
I waited for my time, I was in the field, they didnât think it was fair if my area had already been destroyed. Cementoss was useless here, Midnight wouldnât use her quirk near the others, Erasurehead would try and go for me immediately I had to hide from him. All Might had to be restrained, No. 13 placed in front of someone, Cementoss. Present Mic facing Eraserhead, couldnât use his quirk. Ectoplasm is occupied with my clones as well as Snipe. I could make more than thirty, I could make a hundred. It was all thoughts. Power loader suspended or occupied and Nezu had to be kept quiet, he is too smart heâd talk to the others.Â
Once I was in the field the time started, I thought of how my mother reacted when I won the sports festival, her ignoring me for a week then yelling at me every day. I thought about Bakugou not seeing me as a threat, my mother making my life a living hell. I was walking through the forest, they wouldnât move until they could see me I knew that. Anger was running through me, I was angry I came first in class, I was angry I was the only one doing my test. I was angry at my father for always taking my mothers' side, I was angry at my peers for not standing up for me. I was angry that after this I had to go home, I was angry I was in this god damned position. I was angry at it all. I was so mad. I spread my arms out and then there were about fifty of me. I began to run, I had to run. I had to be faster than everyone. I had to think faster, move faster.Â
Coming into the field the teachers were stunned. I was hidden from Eraserhead, all of the clones moved in unison, one thought, I couldnât see Power Loader, underground but he wouldnât put the teachers in danger. I jumped half of the clones following I was running on an illusion, three thoughts. Midnight couldnât use her quirk around the teachers, she had to stay with them but she also had her whip which was caught and pulling her through the field.Â
Then the clones came, I was fast fighting them quickly and easily. Ten thoughts. I was looking everywhere. Though a group of myself was running forward straight at them. âYou all have weaknessesâ I called out smirking making sure every illusion was talking and having the same expression.Â
âShe is trying to keep us togetherâ Nezu called out and they began to try and run in different directions. My hands came down to the ground sending waves through the Earth and walls around them.Â
âDo you think you can run that easilyâ I was running again. I had to keep thinking. Faster, faster. With a swivel of my hands, Nezu had his mouth covered and was suspended in the air. All Might tried to help him, occupied.Â
âI canât see the original, sheâs hiddenâ Eraserhead called out and then he moved to try to eliminate my copies, going physical then turning back to permeable. My clones landing hits he could not deflect. Snipe was shooting but the bullets went through the clones.Â
âIâm not stupidâ I screamed and grabbed No. 13 as my original self, her suit opened I moved to create the illusion of Cemetoss falling into her grasp, she screamed loud and deafening. She stopped and panicked as I placed the real one in front of her stopping the illusion. They were pressed to each other covered in mist.Â
âYou may be pretending to be villains but you are still Heroes at heart, isnât that rightâ I smirked, Nezu was trying to escape so holding my hand tighter he was constricted with All Might trying to release the mist. I had to stay near the other teachers. Mic and All Might couldnât use their quirks plus All Might was busy. âReal villains wouldnât care who they hurtâ I could see All Might looking around as I ran at him full force sending a weighted foot into his rib as he went flying. Nezu was left alone as I glared at the creature then running off going invisible to him, this was a lot. Maybe thirty thoughts at once. There was so much going on. I fell to the ground âHello Micâ I whispered as he screamed. I covered my ears, they said I had to let one teacher see. I let Cementos see my body fall to the ground holding my ears.
âSheâs downâ and I was quickly up as another shout came bringing my body to the ground. I couldnât hear. The illusions faulted shaking and stopping for a moment. No this is not how I would lose, my hands dug into the ground to somehow bring my thoughts back, my ears hurt so much.Â
Bugs, he doesnât like bugs. My eyes turned and then there was an army of bugs crawling up his body. Physical and going beneath his clothing, they felt real and the scream was real too. Covering my ears again as he tried to get them off him. âItâs just an illusion isnât itâ I whispered and stood to shake my head. Mic was still screaming and I turned the male towards Ectoplasm who in turn went flying to the other side of the field his clones dissipating into the air âYou all care far too muchâ I was so mad, my head hurt, my body hurt. Forty thoughts. âYou all thought I couldnât winâ I grit out and let Eraserhead see me for only a moment, not long enough to erase my quirk, I just needed a second. âYou have to be fasterâ I whispered and he sent out his little scarf. All Might was running back over now. I simply distorted and he was crashing into Aizawa as I flipped back onto an illusion. âPower Loader is useless if youâre all in the same place, he wouldnât risk hurting any of youâ I yelled and then Power Loader was coming out of the ground. An illusion of children, his biggest fear. Not being able to save them âWatch out Power Loader, wouldnât want them to get hurtâ then they were falling and he was digging into the ground. Forty-five thoughts.Â
I could feel Nezu trying to escape, he was persistent but I had a strong grip on him. Cementoss and No. 13 were doing the same I gripped them tighter. âYou think you can win that easilyâ All Might yelled across the field and I jumped into the sky far above them landing in a piece of physical illusion. I was stationed above them my eyes moving wild as I thought of everything. Snipe and Ectoplasm on the other side fighting clones and trying to work together. Â
âIt pissed me off that I was the only one to do a test like thisâ I could see Cementoss, No. 13, Power Loader and Midnight struggling, Midnight was being held back by vines encircling her. I had forgotten about her but still kept the illusion going. Mic was still trying to get bugs off him still, trying desperately as they crawled over his body. Eraserhead looking around frantically. Nezu still cocooned. All Might was looking around as well, back to back with Eraserhead. Ectoplasm fighting a ton of clones with Snipe. âBakugou should have got thisâ I called out and I was falling from the sky my legs covered in weights I came down landing a hard hit on All Mights' shoulders sending him to the ground âTodoroki as well, even Midoriyaâ I grit out moving to flip out of the scarfs way waving around the place. I was on the opposite side of the exit path. If I ran I could get there. I was flown back by a gust of wind, All Might. I landed harshly pain flaring in my back, landing on the ground and my illusions fell.Â
âGotchaâ I tried to use them but I looked to Eraserhead who was staring straight at me the rest of the teachers following. No this is not how I would lose. I didnât know how much time I had left. I was running full speed angry and losing my mind.Â
âThis was an impossible taskâ I screamed flipping over Cementoss and landing to make No. 13 fall to the floor. I threw myself back my hand landing on the ground as I flipped myself back a few times.Â
âI canât predict anythingâ Nezu yelled as he came to move out of the way as I jumped around. Making sure to always have a teacher between me and another. Then the clones came. I was moving quickly, he had to blink. He had never held it this long since the USJ. I was running out of breath and stamina.Â
âYou canât predict instinctâ I answered and one of the ectoplasm clones hit Mic as I dropped to the ground bending my back and then rolling the side. I was looking around frantically. I tried to push illusions as I wrapped my legs around Snipe sending myself back my hand grabbing the ground and sending him into Ectoplasm. âI never said I didnât have physical abilitiesâ I had to go faster.Â
I felt my quirk return, he blinked. I was livid, every single angered thought I had ever had came rushing back. I screamed loud and over the field, as I slammed my hands down on the ground, there were too many thoughts. I continued to scream, the mist taking over my body. I was not going to lose, I was the best. I had to hide from Eraserhead but he would have to put in eyedrops before his next use.Â
My body covered in the mist as I sent out shock waves sending the Pros back. More clones fighting, I was thinking so fast, copies moving insanely fast as I screamed âI will not lose to youâ I felt my hair go over my eyes. âI refuse to loseâ I screamed and then I was up and running. Running through them with speed unknown to my body. My legs ached and my head was pounding. I jumped high and sent my hand in a downward motion spiked illusions embedding into the ground âYou all thought you could beat the next Number one hero, Youâre wrongâ I was so angry, throwing my arms out they were all collected and left in the air. So many thoughts âNowâ They could all see me, eyes wide and dangling in the air as illusions ran across the field, there were so many âWatch me winâ I grit my teeth and I was running off. I was on overload, my thoughts coming like the speed of light, Eraserhead couldnât erase my quirk if he couldnât see me. I placed the mist over his eyes. All these thoughts were my ultimate move, a move that no one could beat. I ran to the exit and with my heart racing and body shaking, I let Eraserhead see me as I walked past the threshold and turned back to them all, mist covering my body as they all stared in amazement.
I had won, I let the illusions fall and I swayed, I won, all the power faded and I felt my body ache as I looked to the teachers, I won, I fucking won. My mind was moving so quickly and my eyes rolled back as I fell forward my body giving way. I was falling quickly and then I hit the ground twitching, I had thought too much. Thoughts were running so fast I couldnât keep up, my body couldnât keep up with the commands. I felt my hand twitch.
âY/Nâ I was hoisted in someonesâ arms. My eyes fell open but it was blurry and then we were running at least I think we were I could feel my body lightly bouncing, my arm hung over the side of whoever was holding me. âY/Nâ I heard again but I couldnât move my body. I hurt so much, was I hurting, no. I wasnât in pain my brain was just moving too quickly for my body to follow.Â
âBring her hereâ I heard. I could still hear, my vision blurred but there were voices. So many voices. âMidnight, knock her outâ and within seconds my vision went black and my mind went blank. The sweet bliss of sleep.Â
-
I could hear people talking, my head hurt. I couldnât open my eyes âIs she going to be okâ that sounded like Aizawa. âSheâs been out for daysâ he added. Had I been out for that long? I did feel rested but my head hurt. Thoughts, they came rushing back and I replayed my fight. I had collapsed after it.Â
âHer brain went into overload and shut down everything but her normal bodily functions. I donât know how long sheâll be out but from the scans, sheâs fineâ A doctor maybe, I heard a thank you and then there was movement.Â
âI knew we shouldnât have pushed her that farâ Midnight? Her voice was soft as I felt someone touch my hand the hand twitching lightly at the contact from another. âShe fought so hardâ I did, I put my all into it.Â
âShe didâ Snipesâ country sounding voice rang through soft and mellow âWhen Aizawa erased her quirk she didnât run, she fought. I couldnât fight against the nine other teachers alone and yet she did with no fearâ he sounded proud. Be proud of me, I won. I beat you all, I tried so hard to be the best.Â
âHer parents refused to come to see herâ Aizawa whispered and I heard a sigh come from my other ear. Aizawa on my right, Midnight holding my hand and I think Snipe was in front of me it was hard to gauge without my eyes open. âSheâs trying so hard to be the top hero with all this stress. We shouldnât have done itâ I could hear the regret. Donât regret facing me, I wanted it. I was scared and I panicked but during that fight. I felt alive, I felt like I could take on the world and I did, I won.Â
âWhy would they refuseâ I felt a thumb rubbing over my hand slowly, pittily. Donât pity me, my parents never cared there was no need to be sad. âI canât imagine not seeing my child if they were like thisâ I could hear her sniffle.Â
âThey said they were busyâ Aizawa answered and Midnights' soft hand gripped my hand tighter, I tried to hold it back. Nothing happened. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't, I couldnât even move my lip or finger. I felt my hand twitch a few times but other than that I was still. âI donât know how sheâs coping with that and then schoolâÂ
âSheâs notâ was that Bakugou. His voice was deep and I heard the stomps coming into the room. Was Bakugou coming to see me? My heart fluttered and I was glad I wasnât connected to the heart monitor.Â
âNo she isnâtâ If my breathing could catch it would have, it was Todoroki. Had they come to see me? Who else had come to see me over the days, was my class worried about me? Did I do good in their eyes?
âShe wasnât sleeping, she came to Yaoyarozuâs study session of a day then came to Kirishima and my own of night and proceeded to go home and study. We asked her when she had last eaten and she couldnât rememberâ Bakugou was outing me to the teachers wasnât he, though his voice didnât hold the same vigour it usually did. He sounded, sad.
âHer parents yell at herâ Todoroki, why were all my secrets being placed out in front of me like it was nothing. âShe got calls at study sessions and it was just her being yelled at. Her mother made her wait for hours after school to pick her up. I sat with herâ was this important information that needed to be out in the open.Â
âAnd yet she still gets up every day, trains and comes to school on time, takes notes and can get the best gradesâ I could hear the smile from Aizawa as he laughed lightly and continued âShe deserves to be a heroâ
My eyes were blinded to the light flooding my eyes, I was crying, again. I cried so much, so many emotions. At the sound of a shaky breath everyone looked to me I was moved into a sitting position as my hands came to my face and I cried. I felt Midnight rub my back as I sobbed into my hands.Â
âI just want to be a heroâ I whimpered and when my head rose I shook my head âI just want people to be proud of meâ I wanted to save people, for someone to look at me and tell me I was the reason they were pursuing their goals. I wanted to show the world that even though I have a deceiving quirk I can still be a hero.Â
âIâm proud of youâ I looked up tears streaming down my face as I saw Todoroki nod encouragingly âThe whole class is. We were all screaming for you during your matchâ I listened so intently. I always feared the class didnât like me. âIâm sure Bakugou is proud of you,â said blonde was elbowed in the ribs. I smiled, wobbly and uneven but smiled.
âBastardâ he grits out and leaned to one side and his head fell to a tilt and huffed crossing his arms âYeah whateverâ he whispered and turned way. I would take what I could get from the angry blonde.Â
âAll the teachers are proud of youâ My eyes left my peers and I looked to Aizawa who nodded happily a smile on his features. âI can promise you every single teacher and Pro in Japan is proud of you. Your video has been sent to agencies so they can see what they have to fight for. Something we do during the finals and we would've passed you if you just evaded getting captured but you won fair and squareâ I was crying again and I felt my shoulders shake as I nodded.
âThank youâ I whispered and looked up at all the people âThank you allâ I nodded and sighed out. Moving my legs as I felt the blood rush down. âI hope I can improve and be the best hero youâve ever seenâ I nodded and all the teachers did too.Â
I spoke for a while more and the teachers were off âThanks for saying I deserved to fight them allâ Bakugou huffed out and I smiled moving my hand slowly to pat his. He had moved to the side of my bed.
âI meant itâ his eyes widened âIâm not kidding, I didnât think I was going to win. I mean who would but I used your anger tactic and just lit the fuseâ I nodded and his face was blank âYou were a major factor to my victoryâ my eyes moved to Todoroki âYou too if you didnât help me calm down. I don't think I would have survived until the endâ I nodded. âFor that, I thank you bothâ I nodded.Â
They both sat with me and Bakugou pulled out food and I couldnât help the laugh that rang through my hospital room. âShut upâ he yelled and placed the bowl on the hospital table pushing it over my bed.Â
âThank you Bakugouâ Todoroki moved to sit on the bed as I moved to cross my legs. We continued to talk and we spoke about my fight. Partway through the conversation âYou two came togetherâ I asked moving forward to eat some rice.Â
They turned to each other and I watched Todoroki smile âwe were both worried about you, weâve come for the last few days. Aizawa stayed here for a night and everyone in the class has come at least onceâ he explained and I nodded smiling.Â
âI wasnât worriedâ Bakugou yelled and I could hear a few pops from his palm, Todoroki and Bakugou began to bicker. Bakugou mostly yelling and Todoroki being his calm and charming self.Â
âYou were the one who asked to stay after visiting hours because you were worriedâ the blonde flushed and moved his hands around. They looked like a couple if I was honest. My heart did the fluttering thing. I wouldnât mind dating them.Â
I paused my mouth open rice hanging in my mouth. What did I just think, no? I thought to all our encounters, I always got happy and my heart sped up. Do I have a crush on not only one boy but two? Two boys who seemed to hate each other. I looked back to them as they argued. They acted like a couple, they did come together. Were they a thing? A secret thing? I had noticed them eating lunch a few times, walking the same way. Sharing notes. Were they together? Oh no, did I have a crush on two gay men? Or were they Bi, Pan, Demi?
âAre you ok Y/Nâ shaking my head I turned to Todoroki as a hand was placed against my forehead. I flushed âYouâre heating up, do I need to get a doctorâ his voice was so plain but I had to admit I found it appealing. It was nice and soft to the ear. Something I could easily listen too forever.Â
âNoâ I stuttered and shook my head quickly Bakugou raising an eyebrow âIâm fine, I amâ I continued and waved my arms around before digging back into the food âThe food is good, did you make it,â I asked trying to change the topic.Â
A cross of his arms and a firm nod he smirked âOf course I made it and itâs good. You liked the spice from the noodles I gave you so I made something similarâ I smiled, of course, he was also good at cooking, why wouldnât he be he was good at everything else.Â
âYouâre cooking is quite good. I like your cold sobaâ Todoroki nodded and Bakugou rolled his eyes. Bakugou makes food for Todoroki, I didnât think they hung out but from the look of it, it wasnât a one-time thing.Â
âThe best soba is hot and spicy not your weird ice cold shitâ Bakugou shook his head and then began to retell a recipe with such great detail I followed every single word as we went along, I felt like I was making it. Then pointed out all the negatives of cold soba and positives of hot and spicy soba.Â
âI still like cold sobaâ Todoroki shrugged and the blonde huffed turning away. Did they meet up, study or something? Were they friends. I knew Bakugou didnât like Midoriya and Todoroki and Midoriya are friends so by relation he wouldnât like Todoroki but it seemed that was false.Â
âYou can like it but itâs still not the bestâ Bakugou was really in tune with his food, very passionate. I could cook pretty well but from the food he had given me, his technique and skills were well above my own.Â
âI beg to differâ Todoroki simply stated and then they were talking about something else. Todoroki was about the only person who seemed to be able to hold a normal conversation with the explosive teen.Â
âIâm glad you two are getting alongâ they both looked confused as they turned to my body, holding the bowl in one of my hands as the other holding the chopsticks. They looked to each other and then looked back âI mean from the festival, you two seem to be getting alongâ I smiled and nodded to the two who had blank stares and confused eyes âIâm happyâÂ
They didnât question it, a few more hours in the hospital, I was allowed out. Help from the boys I was asked to contact a parent to come and pick me up. I held the phone to my ear as I heard the phone call.Â
âWhat do you want?â My mother picked up and I could hear she was in the car, the phone clicking over to the new device. I didnât know how to respond, I didnât want a fight but I was very lethargic and tired.Â
âThe doctor asked me to call a parent to pick me up from the hospitalâ I answered and the line went silent. I pulled the phone away from the screen flashing allowing me to know the conversation was still going, I was surprised she hadnât hung up. I mean she didnât want to come to visit me from the information I was provided.Â
âYou got yourself into that mess you can get yourself outâ and with that, the line dropped. I licked my lips and turned to the doctor who in turn looked to the ground in pity. I locked my phone and placed it in the jumper Bakugou let me borrow.Â
âUm, Iâll get my way home. Iâm okâ I nodded and the doctor left. I looked down and sighed. I saw the boys looking me over as I fluffed the pillow anxiously. âThanks for the jumper Bakugou. Iâll wash it before giving it backâÂ
âItâs fine, I donât wear them often. I get too hotâ I nodded in understanding, his quirk was sweat based so I couldnât blame him for getting overheated. I liked it though, it was a lot better than just wearing my hero costume. It was long and much larger than I, fluffy as well. A gauntlet on the back, he said it was a gift from his dad. âWeâll take you homeâ the words were mumbled but I caught them.Â
âIâm just fine. My mother is just busy, you know mumâs on a mission. Always outâ I breathed out slowly my voice falling âAnd aboutâ who was I kidding. She didnât care, she couldnât care less about me.Â
âNo, we will take you back. I was dropping off Bakugou anyway. My father has someone to drive me around. If I drop you off they get paid more itâs a win-winâ Todoroki was good at convincing people efficiently and easily. Natural.Â
We were out the door and loading into the car. It was fancy, a limo. His dad was the number two hero and strived to show everyone just how important he was. I guess it was a perk but I knew he wasnât the nicest man ever. I simply sat back and let my mind rest. It was almost an hours drive.Â
âDonât you live in a rich area?â Bakugou asked when he told the driver the address, coming to sit back down with Todoroki and I. Crossing my legs on the seat I nodded.Â
âKinda, both my parents work in big businesses, they think it's a personality traitâ I answered and got a stern nod like he knew what I was talking about. Maybe his parents were the same, maybe not. Maybe he was just good at people and no one knew.
We talked in the car and as I was stepping out I went to take the jumper off, I was home now. I could give it back having only worn it for just over an hour. âKeep it, itâs fine. Dad will be happy someonesâ getting use out of itâ he was so nice. I thanked them both again as Todoroki helped me get my bags I had brought to school. I waved âIâll see you both tomorrowâ and with that, they were off.Â

-- YOUR POV
my life has been the most fun lately. ive been hanging out with David and he really gets me to let loose. he's always trying to top his last video which is so fun to be a part of. even if we wait around the house all day. tonight im alone though. I told him I needed to get some writing down for the last song of my album. I want it to be about being happy with yourself and secure with who you are. that you don't need another person to define who you are. but im having trouble putting that into words that rhyme. maybe I should just see what David is up to.
- daveyy (:
hey, I know I said I was busy but my mind is too cluttered and im curious what the vlog squad is up to đ >

- end texts -
âhey, loserâ I say as he walks in with our food and... is that ice cream? âwait, did you get ice cream?âÂ
âyeah, I got your favorite flavor!â he says with a smile. my heart aches at the kind gesture. âwow your house is so niceâ he sets the food on my counter as he glances around.Â
âthank you, im really into interior design... and nice housesâ i joke as i examine the ice cream David got for me. he chuckles as he gets my food out of the bag and sets it up in my living room. I put on a movie to watch but we end up muting it and just talking instead. our conversations just seem to flow. âwhat's a memory that stands out to you from your childhood?â I ask him. âthere's so many things,â he puts his arm around the back of my couch as we sit sideways to face each other. we finished eating forever ago. âprobably just all of high school. I learned so much, from my friends and my teachers. nothing academically, obviously.â he laughs. I smile to him and run my fingers through my hair. he watches my movements and for a moment its quiet.
âI think you're really smart.â I say finally. âI love how you push me, you're always there for me, and you just come up with the best ideas. you're so creative.âÂ
âwow. what did I do to deserve your kindness?â he asks with a slight laugh.
âI can think of a few things.â our conversation became much lighter after that. after a while we went into my home studio and he helped me write. the night was filled with jokes and endless laughing but also had serious moments too. I shared very personal details about my life. but the best thing of all was that there was no camera in sight. it was just friends being friends. no clickbait. no underlying purpose for the long stay. it was perfect.
-- next day
âhey y/n could I come over and talk?â Charlie asked over the phone.
âsure, I don't have anything planned till tonight.â
âok be there in 20.â
âwhat's the sudden emergency?â I ask as he walks in the door.
âthere's just something I've been wanting to confess for a really long time and iâm not sure-â
âits ok Charlie, what is it?â
âI think I'm in love with you.â
my heart dropped. Im frozen in time. I don't need a relationship right now and I sure as hell can't lose my friendship with Charlie.
âI don't know what to say...â
âsay you love me too!â he moves closer to me âI know you do! you always want to be around me, have me close to you, we talk all night. I know you feel it.â
I look at him with a blank expression.
âI honestly don't. I've never thought of you that way, and I'm really enjoying being single. for once in my life I'm not letting the pressure of having someone on my arm get to me, I don't need this right now, I-â
âwhat..? y/n. don't do this.â
âI'm not doing anything it's just the truth.â I look to the ground as his eyes fill with tears. âI think you should go.â I say.
-- DAVIDS POV, that night
- y/n/n đ
you're still coming to my party tonight right? >
< I wouldn't miss it! so proud of you! â¤ď¸
tonight was my party to celebrate my new show. I haven't told the fans yet but this vlog will be my announcement. we start filming for it on Monday and I've never been more excited. its exactly what I've been dreaming of all my life.
the party started to kick off and all my friends slowly started showing up. Charlie was going to perform his unreleased song tonight and everyone was already talking about it.Â
âhey have you heard anything from y/n and Charlie? are they dating?â Ilya comes up and whispers to me.
âno man, I haven't heard anything. I was with y/n all night last night and I wasn't exactly begging her to give me details but we did talk for hours about random stuff and she never brought him up or texted anyone. I don't know they might not be.â I say with hope shining through the cracks of my voice.
âI can just ask Charlie?â Ilya offers. he's such a good friend when it matters.
I nod and then head to get something to drink. y/n still wasn't here and I was getting antsy.
just then I hear Natalie let someone in. I peak around the corner and see y/n. she looks drop dead gorgeous. iâve never seen her dressed up like that. I think she saw right through me and asked if she had something on her face.Â
âno, no, I just have never seen you dressed like that. you look great.â I look to the floor. no way she and Charlie aren't an item. they both love music and they're both flawless people. they're a match made in heaven.Â
âwell, thank you, cowboy.â she says in a funny southern accent. she was so weird. she came in for a hug and she smelled exactly like when I first met her. I put my hand on the small of her back and for a split second I felt her push more into me.Â
âso where can I get a drink?â she asked as we pulled apart.
âa drink?â I ask
âyes, iâve had a bizarre day and I need a drink.â
Im about to ask her what she means when I hear Charlie from behind meÂ
âhey, babe, you're late.â he says to y/n as he pulls her into a hug. she almost looks uncomfortable. âhey Charles, how are you?âÂ
âiâm great, iâve had several drinks and im thinking much clearly-er nowâ
âI can smell thatâ she chuckles
I hand her her favorite drink and ask her if she finished the song. after a short conversation Charlie pulls her to the couch where some other friends are doing karaoke. she's basically sitting on his lap and laughing. I grab my camera and record a little outside trying to not think about it.
-- YOUR POV
I honestly think drunk Charlie has forgotten about our conversation from earlier. which iâm relieved because sometimes I just need good ol Charlie and not this new one that was in love with me. sure he's a little touchy but we were always close like that.Â
âalright I promised David I would perform an unreleased song tonight. come on I want you to hear it.â he grabs my hand pulls me up. I have a gut feeling I don't want to be here for it.
David set up the mic outside and everyone found a seat. David sat next to me with camera in hand.Â
âalright alrightâ Charlie starts. âhopefully I don't forget the lyrics since iâm a little buzzed.â the audience laughed. âbut this song means a lot to me, and I wrote it with someone in mind. someone who has changed my life for the better and made me a better man.â
oh god, please don't say my nameÂ
ây/n. you are everything to me. I wouldn't be able to be who I am today without you.â
everyone looks to me as the music starts. a love song. i place my head in my hands and David nudges me. âyou ok?â he whispers.
âcan you please get me out of here?â he nods his head and stands up. Charlie is looking down at his guitar lost in his music. I feel bad leaving but how could he not take no as an answer? I follow David out the door and my head is down in shame. he closes the patio door and turns to me. âwhat is going on? I thought you guys were dating?âÂ
âoh god, not you too.â I groan. âjust please I need to be anywhere but here right now. fast.â
âokay. letâs go.â
we go to his garage and he looks at me.Â
âyou said fast!â he shrugs as he opens the passenger Ferrari door for me. I laugh with my head thrown back âtrue. but im going to need a jacket or blanket.â
âhere, use mine.â he took off his hoodie and handed it to me. I hopped in the car and we were off.
âanywhere in mind?â he asks as we pull out of the neighborhood.
ânope,â I smile. âim kinda hungry thoughâ
âalright,â he turns the car at the light. âthen weâre gonna make this worth our while. I know an overly expensive place with great burgers.âÂ
I laugh at him as my hair blows in the wind âyes! lets spend all your money!â I lift my arms and scream. David just laughs at me. we speed down the highways. ive never felt so free.Â
we finally arrive to the place and get seated.
âso do you wanna tell me why we left my party now?â
âiâm sorry by the way. I didn't mean to drag you from your party but...â I look down and pick at my napkin âCharlie confessed his feelings for me this afternoon.â David looked at me confused.Â
âisn't that a good thing?â he asked.
ânot if I don't feel the same way.â I sigh and David looks surprised. âI was very clear about my feelings- or lack of. but he had been hitting on me all night and then the song. I know he was drunk but im really worried for my friendship with him.âÂ
âI can't believe my ears.â he said almost laughing. âyou, y/f/n, don't like the guy who seems like he was sent down from the heavens for you?âÂ
ânope. he just isn't my type I guess, I don't know. I never really thought of him that way and I don't want to.â
âwow, no one will be up to your standards will they?â David laughs as he takes a drink.
âthe right guy will be.â
perfect timing. the waitress comes over with our food. we thank her and get eating. he was right. best. burgers. ever!Â
I moan as I take another bite.
David looks me up and down with his cheeks full of burger and chuckles. âokay, y/n, calm down. it isn't no Charlie puth.â
I gasp and throw a fry at him playfully, laughing. âno... no it is not!â we both laugh harder. as we finish up David pays despite my best efforts and we head to my house so he can drop me off. the car ride was fun, we listened to all the hits and sang our hearts out. we got tons of funny looks, but nothing mattered. I grabbed his vlog camera he threw to the side and recorded him singing and then popped myself into frame and had the camera aimed at both of us. our hair was crazy and the night was wearing down on us but it didn't matter. we were just happy to be alive.Â
as we pulled into my driveway and David put the car in park, I looked to him. âyou wanna walk me to my door?âÂ
âalready on it.â
he came around and opened the car door for me and walked me up to my door.Â
âthank you for tonight. it was like out of a movie. I really needed it.â I was talking softly now since it was the dead of the night and the only thing heard was the crickets.Â
âanytime, y/n.â David also said softly. he kept looking to my lips which made my heart beat faster every time. I know I said I didn't need a guy, but he just looks too good.Â
âand congrats on your show, I'm really proud of you.â I step closer.Â
âthank you, congrats on staying single another night.â he joked but had his hands gently placed on my forearm.Â
âits still early.â I whisper closer to his face now. I can feel his breath and he can feel mine. my heart is going a million beats a minute and the butterflies in my stomach are in a tornado.
âI can't write a song about you, but I can buy you more expensive burgers.â
I laugh leaning my head on his shoulder. âthat's all a girl needs anyways.â
he laughs too but gently. I look up at him and his eyes are locked on mine. he places a hand on my cheek and then lower to my neck. I take a sharp breath in and connect our lips. his lips are soft, sweet, and gentle. I pull my arms up around his neck and deepen the kiss. I feel his hands slide down my back to just above my ass. I move my head to the side and open my mouth gently. he knows what to do and opens his mouth too. I feel his tongue dominate my mouth. he retracts and I close my mouth only to bite his bottom lip and then pull away. I let go and we put our foreheads together breathing heavily.Â
âI could do that again.â he says.
âwanna come inside?â I whisper, my hands now playing with his hairs at the end of his neck.
âbest party ever.â he laughs and I pull him inside. I don't know what im supposed to tell Charlie. the heart wants what it wants?

BNHA AU Ideas: Alleycat
Also on AO3!Â
TL;DR:Â Â
The story of the Erasure villain: Alley Cat and his heroic kittens. Aizawa, a rather nomadic villain, accidentally acquires two teenagers and a four-year-old. It's not the most conventional family, but it'll do.
villain aizawa: hes incredibly brutal and efficient, kind of an antihero type. he shuts down some things the heroes dont see, patrols the sketchy areas, looks out for children
he kinda,,, accidentally adopted some children
shinsou and izuku were runaways from a terrible foster home that tracked down the 'villain' alleycat and basically said
"are we worth anything to anyone?" and aizawa sees these kids hurt by heroics and takes them under his wing
eri is a kid izuku stumbled upon while out with shinsou before they met aizawa, and izuku basically adopted her straight out, came back to shinsou like "hi we have a little sister now" they are like 12, eri is 4
so aizawa accidentally gets 2 teens and a lil kid and he finds out they lowkey wanna be villains like him bc they wanna help and heroes dont help people like them. aizawa's heart breaks bc he doesn't want these kids to have the life he's had, so he promises to train hitoshi and izuku only if they try for the hero course
they agree. a villain begins to train heroes to enter the very thing that hurt them, with hopes of changing it from the inside out
ok also: in this au whatever horrible thing happened to shirakumo,,,, didnt. and he's 1A's homeroom teacher. hes bright, bubbly and cheerful, with the same expulsion rate aizawa has
so, shirakumo's hero name is cloud nine, hizashi's is feedback, not present mic. they both think aizawa is dead, and separately have to deal with the villain 'alleycat' as his territory intersects w ua's zone
aizawa, as alleycat, is a lot gentler to shirakumo and hizashi, more polite when speaking to them, less brutal with his takedowns. hizashi notices, but says nothing
hitoshi and izuku, with their baby sister eri, end up living with aizawa, training to be heroes to improve them fucked up society that taught them they were worthless in the  first place
he takes them on parkour routes in the early morning, teaches them how to disarm people with knives, to use an opponents size against them.
izuku hones his ability to analyse, hitoshi learns how to push peoples buttons. there is no such thing as a fair fight for them. they break each others noses, chip a tooth or two, get black eyes. there are no hard feelings, they are together through everything
the 4 of them live pretty rough, only on what aizawa can get as a villain/working day shifts in a dodgy bar. aizawa pretends to be their dad for anything legal, says they had two different mothers. it works, somehow.
Some minor cosmetic changes:
Izuku, Hitoshi and Eri all dye their hair black. It started as them quietly wanting to look like their âdadâ for sentimental reasons, but they quickly worked out that it made the lie a lot easier for others to swallow.
They all take the surname Aizawa
Eriâs hair is cut into a messy bob â she loves getting Izuku to give her pigtails with the little sparkly hair ties Shouta stole for her. Izukuâs hair is shorter at the back and longer at the front, obscuring his eyes a bit. Hitoshiâs hair is shoulder length and growing, he ties it back in a low bun.
All three of the kids have scars. Eriâs are like canon but a less extreme because her quirk only just showed up. Izuku and Hitoshi have some from bullies, horrible foster parents and reckless sparing. Izuku has a few more little ones because he developed his not-dadâs love of cats and is unafraid of getting bitten â on top of his lack of self-preservation.
they go to aldera middle school, bakugo is still a little shit. to be honest, izuku hates it the most when bakugo burns his uniform - they cant afford to buy extra. there have been a few weeks hes just had to where shinsou's spare and roll the sleeves up
izuku and shinsou have a bit of a spat the afternoon of the sludge villain. it's nothing either of them remembers in a weeks time, but it means shinsou leaves school first, without izuku
bakugo corners him, notebook, allmight, etc
izuku has to ask
all might says no
izuku crumbles, such a dramatic shift from the calm but nice boy he'd been before. you can see the moment his heart breaks. all might feels terrible, but izuku has jumped down the fire escape before he can say anything.
to be honest, izuku is moments away from a full-fledged breakdown. He shoots shinsou a quick text about the villain, but pauses when he hears explosions. He knows the chances its Katsuki are tiny but heâs never been a lucky guy, so he runs towards them
basically the rest of the episode plays out like canon, izuku goes home and meets with his whole ass family panicking because he sent a vague text about a villain then was totally AWOL for 2 hours
hitoshi hugs him really tight while aizawa mumbles something about a tracking chip.
Izuku tells hitoshi about all might, but just tells aizawa vaguely that hes getting a quirk, no he isnât in any danger, yes heâll be safe, no he canât tell you how.
Izuku and Hitoshi both pass the entrance exam with a mix of hero and villain points.
Izuku still doesnât his whole bone breaky routine but he also manages to take out a few robots by himself before that. He ends up with the highest score.
Hitoshi takes out a few more robots but spends a fair bit of time pushing people out of the way of robots, yelling at people to be more careful about the others around them, and controlling people to get them out of the way of debris. He gets into the top 10.
Nezu is very very interested in the two âbrothersâ with very different quirks that both did so well. He resolves to keep and eye on them.
Shirakumo is a riot as a teacher but boy is he stressful to be in a class with. The first insult out of Bakugoâs mouth and hes kicked him out of his class, telling him to try class B or get out of the school. (Blood King takes him. Bakugo is a little less horrible to izuku, at least where others can see)
Izukus having a quiet panic attack because Bakugo is going to kill him, and Hitoshi is caught between respecting the balls on their teacher and being pissed at the guy for putting izuku in a terrible position.
No quirk test, they do actually go see the opening ceremony. Hizashi and Shirakumo chat in sign while the principalâs speech drags on. Hitoshi and Izuku watch on, trying not to laugh when they start signing that they want to go to sleep.
Then they do the quirk test bc shirakumoâs a bastard. They end the day with Bakugo kicked out and Hagekure hanging onto her place by a thread. Izuku and Hitoshi come 4th and 5th respectively, despite not being able to use their quirks in the test. Shirakumo is interested.
Skipping to the interesting bits:
The USJ is just as terrible as canon, with the added fact that some of the thugs totally recognise izuku and hitoshi. Izuku works out how to use one for all at 1% during the attack. Hitoshi ends up with a scar on his eyebrow from a person with a claw quirk, Izuku gets a broken arm. Hitoshi sees all might in his skinny form for the first time and is suitably surprized
The sports festival goes a lot like canon in the first round, the second round features a team-up of just Hitoshi as the horse and Izuku as the rider bc they are so used to working with each other they felt itâd be more trouble to have extra team members. They arent exactly wrong and that round ends with them still in control of the 1â000â000 points band â along with a fair few teams just sitting on the sidelines with no idea how they got there.
Tournament round has izuku fighting Todoroki in the second round like canon, but in this universe, he wins (after helping him because whats izuku without a saviour complex). Hitoshi beats Tokoyami and Sero, but loses to Bakugo. The final round is Izuku vs Bakugo, they tie.
The stain arc is a riot. Izuku is interning w Gran, Hitoshi is with Nighteye who happens to be looking for âAlley Catâ. Hitoshi is so done with this.
Izuku finds Iida about to be attacked by stain and swoops in. Stain recognises him instantly
âOh, youâre one of the catâs kids, arenât you? Let me deal with this fake hero and you can show me what your dad's taught you.â
Iida is confused â resolves to ask about it later
âYou step away from him.â
âWhat?â
âI said. Step away from Iida. Heâs â Weâre going to be heroes. Weâre both going to be heroes and I wonât let you hurt him!â
Stain pauses, then smiles.
âLets see if the apple falls far from the tree, hm?â And he launches himself at Izuku
Izuku can dodge with the best of them, but he canât get close enough to hit stain while protecting Iida. He manages to escape paralysis, but by the time Todoroki arrives stain has barely taken damage.
Todoroki isnât the only person that responded to that warning. 1 city over, Hitoshi is franticly begging Nighteye to do something, because his brother is in danger. Nighteye is shocked at the fear in the previously apathetic childâs voice. He alerts heroes in the area, and makes his way over with a nervous Hitoshi in tow. On the other end of the city, where heâd been trying to keep an ear out for his kids, Aizawa gets the text and his heart drops. He begins running over.
Stain is taken out before any more help arrives. Without ropes, Todoroki freezes him solid in a block of ice. Endeavour arrives, as does Nighteye with a panicked Hitoshi. Aizawa arrives soon after, perched on a nearby rooftop, ready to whisk his kids away to safety should they need it.
The nomu swoops down, grabbing Izuku. Stain canât help â trapped in his block of ice. Aizawa runs after Izuku. The nomu drops Izuku off at Shirgirakiâs feet, who is rather delighted to have the annoying boy from the USJ delivered to him out of the blue. Heâs not, however, so happy with the knives he finds flying towards him. Kurogiri redirects them and the portal fades just in time for them to come face to face with the villain âAlley Catâ
âWell that was a cheap shot Alley Cat, what crawled up your ass and died?â
Aizawa places himself in front of Izuku, teeth bared. Izuku is clutching the leg of his costume. âDonât hurt him and you won't lose a hand.â Kurogiri goes to attack, but Shigiraki waves him off, letting Aizawa take back Izuku.
âSir?â
âDonât you see? There are villains in the hero course. I smell a side quest, donât you? We might even get some new party members out of it.

Sweet Nothing (MHA Staff AU Fanfiction)
Chapter 1
Warnings: None, completely swf
"A devastating loss to the American people to lose one of the most beloved heroes. People are still rioting outside of the court as you see Zion and other Pro-Heroes walk out."
Did I expect to have my license suspended after backing up victims of my colleague? Not exactly. Am I upset about it? Not entirely. My time in the U.S wasn't the best, I only stayed for my students, but now without my hero license, I can forget having my job at Cal Academy.
As I walked out of the courthouse, I gave my best smile for those looking and the press. Nerves continued to crawl up my spine as I tried my best to keep my cool. I can't make another scene as I did inside. Reporters flooded in, pestering me to get my opinion on one of my most significant failures.
"I can't describe how disappointing the outcome of the case was, but sometimes things happen. The cards just weren't in our favor. I just hope that people here and at home take this as a reminder of how heroes can fail sometimes, but it doesn't mean that hope is lost forever. I am sure that today is just a setback. Have a good day, and eventually, I will be back once my suspension ends." I smiled and nodded, making my way past the reporters.
"What will you be doing during your time in suspension?" A reporter reached out their microphone over my shoulder.
I thought for a moment. I was thinking back to a conversation I had with my old principal before this trial.
"If all goes wrong. Or something else occurs, and you want to come back. Along with most of the UA staff, I wanted to start a mental health program for the students. Specifically, a counselor or therapist per class. I think it will suit you well to be a counselor here." The calm and reassuring tone Nezu's voice always seemed to have calmed my nerves and made sure I always knew I had someone at my corner at all times.
I turned to the reporter and smirked, "I'll be in Japan."
Present Day
Okay, maybe I shouldn't have taken up Nezu's offer after all.
Class 1-A
Counselor: Mai Montoya
Homeroom Teacher: Shota Aizawa
The stupid mouse-dog-bear thing paired me up with Aizawa? AIZAWA! This is just like when he recommended me for the hero course the first time I ended up at UA.
"You okay? You look like you're about to vomit." Lily, a fellow friend from Cal Academy that Nezu hired, asked.
"I just might. Why must Nezu make things difficult for me?" I handed her my form and rubbed my temples.
She looked at the form and then put her hand on her hip, "I don't see anything wrong with this. There are only twenty students."
I stared up at her. I completely forgot that she's not only new to the school but new to Japan, so she doesn't know anyone but me. "It's not the number of students. I could care less about that. Nezu could give me two hundred kids, and I won't complain. It's the homeroom teacher I have a problem with."
She looks again, "Shota Aizawa. Now, why does that sound familiar?" She scratches her head. A few baby hairs start sticking out of her bun as I just continue to contemplate how my life led me here.
"Do you remember the group of friends I had before graduating UA and coming back to the US?" She nodded, "Do you remember the one specific friend that I stopped talking to?" She shook her head, "Sorry, the friend that stopped talking to me?"
"OH! Oh, wait... Oh no... he's the homeroom teacher?" Lily bit her lip and went to reach for the bottle of water while looking at her class information. "I thought you guys resolved things the last time you came to Japan to help Captain Celebrity five years ago." She took a huge swig of her bottle.
"Kind of, but not really. We talked because it had something to do with a case he was working on, but after that, it was mainly me talking to Kayama and Kayama bothering him. Or me talking to Mic, and he talks to him." I gave an embarrassed smile as Lily glared at me. "It's not my responsibility to patch things up with him; he cut me off."
She took another swig, "Maybe since you tell Principal Nezu everything, he thought you guys needed a push to get back together. Weren't you guys inseparable?"
"We were not inseparable. And Nezu should stop meddling; he's been like this since I was fifteen." I check the time on my laptop to see it was almost time for homeroom and start packing up to meet my new students. "It's almost time for the classes to start. Nezu wanted us to introduce ourselves to the students. Do you need me to show you where Class 1-B is located again? Do you need me to translate for you with the students?"
She shook her head and told me that she was fine and made her way out with me. She kept reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. But honestly, I wasn't listening. Being back at UA made me uneasy; it felt like my first day as a student here. Nervous and scared. Only this time, I had no reason to be. Maybe it was nostalgia. Or perhaps it was just a lot of, hmph. What the hell? I look down to see a familiar yellow sleeping bag at my feet. I turned to my left to see Lily was gone and that I already made it to classroom 1-A. Not only that, I met with the eyes of terrified students. I looked back down to see grey eyes popping out of the sleeping bag staring at me.
"I honestly thought the form was a joke." There it was. That stupid gruffly monotoned voice. It took all I had not to roll my eyes.
"Nice to see that in almost fifteen years, you kept that sleeping bag." I walked over the giant caterpillar of depression and into the classroom.
"It took you guys more than eight seconds to quiet down. That's not going to work." I heard the man say as he zipped out of his sleeping bag. "My name is Shota Aizawa. I'll be your homeroom teacher. And the woman over there, she is Mai Montoya, your counselor." I smiled and waved to students. It was met with mostly enthusiastic responses, aside from one kid grunting and another one practically drooling. Make a note not to wear a pencil skirt and a button-up as long as I'm that kid's counselor. Aizawa then proceeded to take a gym uniform out and told the students to get dressed and ready for training. He turned to look at me as the kids made their way out of the class, "You still do that face."
I blinked, "What face?"
"The face you do when you're concentrating on something too hard. What is it?"
"Oh." After fourteen years, he remembers that? "It's nothing; I just think that it's the first day, and maybe training should wait a little while." He turns and ignores me. "Hey, wait up!"
"I need to know how their quirks work, and the earlier they train, the earlier we can make then better heroes."
"It's only the first day, though. They could do introductions and talk about their quirks. Plus, I thought I saw you when the staff was watching the entrance exams; you should already have an idea." I pointed.
"It's not the same as in person." Was all he responded, "I'm their teacher so let me do what I normally do. You're only here to observe."
"I am here to introduce myself and get to know the students. And we are meant to collaborate, Sh... Aizawa." Eeeeeggggggg almost did a no-no right there. He didn't spare me a second glance, but I could tell that I annoyed him. He was already irritating me too. I just sighed and decided to sit on the bench and take my laptop out to start jotting down notes as I waited for the students to arrive.
Once the students arrived, Aizawa explained that he was making them do a Quirk Apprehension Test. They all seemed okay until he mentioned that whoever scored the lowest would be expelled. Kayama told me once about how Aizawa likes to expel students, but I didn't think it would be so early. I neglected the decision to interject; I didn't want to piss him off more so soon.
"Yes?" Aizawa spoke.
"My name is Tenya Iida. I have a question about the counselor?" I looked up to see a whole ocean of eyes looking at me.
I stood up and smooth out my skirt, "What is your question, Iida?"
"Why didn't we get a proper introduction yet?"
"Oh, uh, I was waiting until your teacher was done explaining the lesson so I can explain not only myself but the purpose of the new mental health program at UA." I smiled. "But since you asked, um, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give you the introduction now." I nodded over to Aizawa to get permission to speak more, knowing this was taking time away from his lesson. "Okay, well, as said before, I am Mai Montoya, your counselor. I am part of the new mental health program as a way for the school to become more engaged in students' mental health. I, along with many other Pro Heroes, felt that hero programs don't focus on the importance of mental health for both general students and hero students. Principal Nezu saw the importance and asked me to help be in charge of it. I am originally from the U.S, but I used to be a UA student, so that's how Nezu and I know each other."
Another student raised their hand to ask a question; she had pink skin and cute little horns popping out of her head, "Wait, 'I, along with other Pro Heroes.' You're a pro?"
I rubbed my neck, "Yes, I am a Pro Hero. I am currently not on active duty, though." Here we go. "Let me quickly explain myself, so you feel more inclined to trust me. I am the Pro Hero Zion..."
A green hair boy spoke up, "The U.S's Number 2 Hero that recently got their license suspended? Oh my god, why are you here in Japan? Our counselor is a top hero!"
I was speechless, this kid knew about... oh, who am I kidding the whole case was broadcasted all over the world. "As I was saying, yes, I have my Pro Hero license suspended in the U.S. currently. However, I still have my Japanese Hero License, so I am still a pro. I legally am not allowed to talk about any details about my suspension, though. Just know that the suspension isn't getting lifted anytime soon, so that's why I decided to move back to Japan." I waited for more interruptions.
"Are you allowed to train us too?" The boy asked.
"I wasn't hired for that. As a disclaimer, I only want to do my work at UA; I have to avoid any other scandals from hero work because of my suspension. So you won't be seeing me on the news anytime soon while I am here." They all awed and disappointedly huffed. Afterward, I gave out my email and other ways to contact me to make any appointments with me, and with that, their apprehension test started.
I stood to the side and analyzed the students in their testing environments for the most part. I found out the green-haired boy was named Izuku Midoriya, and the pink girl was Mina Ashido. Everyone seemed pretty determined to pass, mainly because of the threat of expulsion, which I guess is good, but I still don't think scaring the kids to do good was the best way to teach. "It's a logical deception; I have no plans to expel anyone." Aizawa came up to me with a stern face.
"That makes it worse. You scared them, and now they're not going to trust you." I made sure I wrote that piece of information in my notes about the class. The man just shrugged. "They have a lot of potentials. These quirks are fantastic." He just grunted. "I'm trying to have a conversation with you. Especially since you initiated it."
"I'm sorry to hear about your license suspension. You didn't deserve that." Aizawa just stared at the students and avoided looking at me.
"Things happen. I can't feel sorry for myself. I didn't even like working for that agency anyways." I brushed it off. "I just hate feeling that I failed to bring justice to those girls, especially since they reminded me of my students. Young, hopeful, ready to save the world. Now, they're scared and feel like there's no purpose in saving anyone if even heroes can be villains." I rested my chin on my fist as I watched the young heroes in front of me. Then I noticed one of the students going berserk with his explosion quirk on Midoriya. "You might want to keep an eye on Bakugou. His personality is almost as explosive as his quirk."
"I already have a feeling these kids are going to make me want to quit teaching," Aizawa grumbled. The next thing I saw was his capture weapon wrapped around the blond boy to stop him from blowing up Midoriya. I tried my best to contain my laughter at the kids' reaction to him, bringing it out again. From the corner of my eye, I noticed a blond crouching behind the corner of the building, analyzing the students as well-- All Might.
I rolled my eyes and got up. "I have to go back to my office. I'll see you, kids, later after you go through your general classes to see how you guys are adjusting." I went around the corner to meet with the seven-foot-two giant of a man. "What's up, Toshinori?"
The poor guy didn't see me and nearly almost transformed into his skinny form. "Young Montoya! It's wonderful to see you! Please don't tell Aizawa I'm here." He went to hug me (more like lifted me off the ground) and then hunch down.
I giggled, "Oh, I am pretty sure he noticed; he's just not saying anything about it."
"I'm just observing his teaching style since it's my first year as a teacher." He rubbed the back of his neck.
I hugged my laptop and levitated a little to get on his level, "I suggest telling him that you want to learn from him. I have to go, so have fun." I gave him a quick hug and left.
"I've missed you. Maybe you can finally take my offer of taking over my agency."
"Not this again," I grunted. "See you around, Toshinori. Let me know when you want teaching advice."
I love Toshinori, but after his injury ten years ago, he's been trying to convince nonstop to take care of his agency in case the worst would happen. I always just brushed it off. I didn't want that type of responsibility. My whole career in the U.S, people have compared me to him. And I never minded it, it was an honor to be compared to the symbol of peace. But the idea of actually taking the mantle never sat right with me. And I highly doubt it ever will after now being the only top hero to have a license suspension. After finding out Toshinori was going to be a teacher to find a new person to take his quirk, I got more nervous for him and the future of the new person to have One for All. With that in mind, it does give me a reason to try and take the mantle instead of putting it all on a student. It's irresponsible to give all that pressure onto a child. I guess that's mainly the reason why they added the mental health program. To make sure the kids aren't under a lot of pressure.

Here we go Loopty Loo pt4
Summary: Graduation was supposed to signal the final time they all spent time together at UA, to show they have all grown into the Heros they dreamed of being.
It was supposed to be, but when has anything ever been easy for class 1-A?

Loop #49
___________________________________________
To ask for normalcy in this class was too much, Aizawa knew this.
It was like asking it to rain gumdrops to expect these 20 idiots to behave like normal human beings for five minutes in the original timeline, and it had only gotten worse as they all fought off apathy at their time stuck just kept going.
But how Aizawa wished they would stop getting caught so he didnât have to deal with the other teacher questioning it.
Cockatoo: Uh Shouta?
Cockatoo: Should I ask why Bakugo and Kaminari are yelling âFuck your chicken strips!â at a shellshocked Todoroki?
YallMight: I think it has to do with them finding out that Endevar and Hawks are dating.
Chloroform: THEY WHAT????
Sleepis4theweak: I wish Yagi was joking
YallMight: At least they arenât singing âShe thinks my tractorâs sexyâ this time. Â
He glared at the tall blond he was eating lunch with, âFuck you, I know you put them up to that.â
âNo proof,â
âShut it,â
âIf I make you smile will you, forgive me?â
âMaybe,â
Yagi just grinned, âI just helped Jiro finish a parody song of Aint No Rest for the Wicked, called Aint No Rest for Endeavor, where they diss Endeavor for three minutes straight, including some⌠uh, classified information and are going to play it during the Cultural Festival with Shoto taking lead vocals.â
Aizawa wasnât fast enough to stop the snort from escaping, âThese fucking kids,â
âItâs better than Bakugoâs idea of writing a parody of âFuck Youâ to call out Overhaul or All for One⌠or both.â
âAs long Dabi gets a recording,â Aizawa chuckled, âIâm going to allow it.â
âYou were going to allow it either way,â Yagi teased, not even batting an eye at the fact that Aizawa basically adopted the villain, âBut I suppose he would like to see his younger brother roasting their father.â
Aizawa shrugged, âIâll talk to the kids when we get back, making sure they time the parody when they have the largest crowd. Iâm guessing Iâm going to be on âStop Endeavor from burning down the schoolâ detail again?â
âI can take Eri during it if you would like,â
âNah, Iâll let Mirio handle her, she misses him anyways. They canât make more of a scene then the Host club they held last year. â
He glanced back down at his phone, to see the flurry of texts had continued.
BloodyMess: Why is your class full of the troublesome ones? And why havenât you expelled any of them??
Cockatoo: Cause Sho is soft for his âproblem childrenâ
Chloroform: Yeah, plus they take care of his daughter like theyâre her big siblings and Iâve never seen Sho look softer.
YeeHaw: Soft? Are we talking about the same man?
Cockatoo : *SmilyBoi* Read em and weep
BloodyMess: Oh shit, the dude can actually smile and not look like heâs trying to murder you
SpaceCadet: Aw, heâs wearing a bow!
Cockatoo: Eri put it in his hair, he wasnât gonna remove it after she called him dad
Cockatoo: Oh shit
Chloroform:???
Cockatoo: Monoma said something to a table of Class 2-A kids and Shinsou appeared out of nowhere and brainwashed him. Heâs now dancing to Toxic by Brittany Spears in the middle of the courtyard.
Chloroform: Omg, please say youâre recording!
Cockatoo: I am, but now Kaminari and Sero are being backup dancers
Cockatoo: Mina just had to stop Kirishima from taking off his shirt when he joined
Cockatoo: We have a full-on flash mob going on right now.
Cockatoo: Sho, come get your kids. I donât know when they had time to choreograph this stuff but itâs not really school appropriate
BloodyMess: Aizawa, control your class
Chloroform: Heâs probably trying to stop a migraine from forming
YallMight: No, he finds the whole event funny.
Cockatoo: How do you know????
Yagi smirked snapping a picture of the usually stoic teacher wheezing at the mental image of his stupid kids before the picture was texted over the group.
Chloroform: Oh? Having a picnic together, are you?
Sleepis4theweak: And? Arenât we talking about my dumbass class?
Cockatoo: Pretty defensive there Sho, anything you want to share?
Sleepis4theweak: I have no idea what youâre talking about
Cockatoo: Come on Sho
Chloroform: Letâs change tactics
Chloroform: @YallMight are you fucking Aizawa?
YeeHaw: You trying to kill the man, Midnight?
BloodyMess: The man spits up enough blood without you being like this nem
Aizawa shot his companion a look, âDonât you dare,â
Toshinori raised a brow, a shit-eating grin crawling onto his face, âToo late,â Â
YallMight: Rawr (*ÎŚĎÎŚ*)
Aizawa could hear the screaming from here, though that was probably just Mic losing control at the unexpected response from the worldâs Golden Boy for all that was good and pure.
Oh, if they only know how corrupting spending 145 years with mostly horny meme teenagers is.
Aizawa couldnât breathe at this point, putting his head down on the table they shared, gasping for breath around his gales of laughter the stitch on his side pulling. Toshi looked way too pleased with himself, as his full belly laughter echoed around them. After a minute the taller man shifts and looks away, laughter drying up almost as quickly as it had started.
Aizawa squinted up at him, âWhat?â
âShould we let them think weâre dating?â
Shouta felt a slight flush crawl over his cheeks as he leaned across the table, âArenât we?â
Yagi relaxed at the words, âI⌠wasnât entirely sure where we stood on that. You know how tricky emotions are in these loops.â
Aizawa shrugged because he knew the man was right. Sexualities and attractions seemed as fluid as everything else in the loops. Heâs gone through marriage, dating, divorce, breakups, flings, and hookups at this point, whether he weathered them himself or just recalled them from the memories he received from each loop. He had been romantically involved with Hizashi, Nemuri, Tensi, Oboro, Emi, and even Yagi at one point or another.
In this timeline, however, he had been devoid of any romantic attachments, his timeline memories not recalling a single long term partner, and only a handful of one night stands. His emotional attachment for the kind, gentle, flawed man went beyond anything that resembled normal, but what in their lives was normal anymore, and he wasnât going to deny that even in the timelines where he was straight the number one hero was attractive in both forms.
He would admit that this was a loop where his physical attraction was... fairly overwhelming.
Aizawa just grasped Toshinori's hand in his own instead of answering, earning a blinding smile that made his heart flutter. If the attraction is mutual then, why not allow themselves some happiness in this mess?
His phone pinged again, his Class chat text tone⌠That rarely bore good things if he was tagged in it.
Sonic : *MaybeWeWentTooFar?* @dadzawa @DadMight um help?
âIâm gonna kill them,â He sighed as he opened the picture of Monoma standing on what seemed to be an ice version of Pride rock, holding Nezu aloft while most of 2-A and 2-B were kneeling at the base.
âAnd having them all prank you before you remember them next timeline?â Toshinori teased, puffing up as he rose from his seat, âI donât think so.â
The homeroom teacher sighed but silently agreed. Dying before graduation seemed to dump affected loopers earlier in the loop then everyone else. They could arrive anywhere from a few hours before everyone else, to years earlier and there didnât seem to be a set reason for how long they were sent back. Â After the first three times, the class seemed to come to a silent agreement to mess with each other as much as they could during the time they spent before everyone else remembered. Aizawa was still proud to say he had the best prelooping revenge on his problem children, even if it started accidentally.
âIf I told Hizashi that we were engaged, what would you do?â
The sunflower man choked slightly at the out of the blue question, coughing up a mouthful of blood as he deflated once again.
Aizawa continued walking hiding his smile into his capture weapon as he neared the courtyard.
Yagi jogged slightly after him, already puffed back up, before offering a counter with a shit-eating twinkle in his eyes, âIf you dodge the question until tomorrow I can have rings by morning.â
He slipped his hand into the otherâs hands in his way of answering. They were practically married anyway, pretending to have a secret engagement wasnât gonna be hard in the slightest. Toshi even came over enough that Eri probably not question it either, and it just gave them longer to be the happiest they could be during the loops.
His hair rose as he glared at Shinsou, capture wiping out to grab Nezu away from Monama as his grip slackened as the mind control faded from his system.
The whole courtyard whirled to look at them, and Aizawa notices too late how Midoriyaâs eyes flash between him and Yagi, down to their hands and over to where Mic was still filming, a straight-up evil smirk flashing for barely a second before it was perfectly covered in a scandalized mask.
âOMG AIZAWA-SENSEI ARE YOU FUCKING MY DAD?!?!?â
Welp murder was outweighing the possible embarrassment of preloop pranks. Maybe he could bribe Dabi with those embarrassing pictures Toru had taken of Endeavor...
âYoung Midorya!â All Might gasped, chopping his hand through the air similarly to how Tenya would do, âThat is highly inappropriate! What my fiance and I get up to in our free time is our business and our business alone!â
Make that two murders.
Definitely two murders.

BnHA Chapter 217: The Same as Him
Previously on BnHA: Dekuâs team beat Team MonoShin and secured the overall victory for class 1-A. Aizawa was all âhey Deku wtf was that shitshow out thereâ and Deku answered truthfully but vaguely and said he wasnât sure. He credited Ochako and Shinsou with saving him, but then Shinsou got all down on himself and said that he only did it because Ochako asked him and because he knew his team would lose if he didnât act. Aizawa was all âyou bonehead, youâre being too hard on yourselfâ and said that no hero is born truly selfless and that thatâs one of the qualities they train to learn. He and Vlad both agreed that Shinsou had more than earned a passing grade, and would most likely be joining the hero course in year 2. The chapter wrapped up with Monoma declaring that he would have won if heâd known ahead of time that Dekuâs quirk would turn out to be a âdud.â This led Deku to ponder what exactly occurred when Monoma failed to use his quirk, and it also prompted Aizawa to ask Monoma to come see Eri, most likely to see if he can help her figure out how to control her quirk.
Today on BnHA: All Might, Deku, and Bakugou discuss Dekuâs new OFA shenanigans in private. Bakugou points out that there must be some reason why this is happening now, and speculates on the possible connection to All for One. Later that evening, after unsuccessfully trying to draw the quirk out again, Deku heads back to the dorms ominously pondering the relationship between his power and AFOâs. Todoroki walks up to Deku and is all âdude does this make us two-quirks buddies nowâ and Deku awkwardly makes up some bullshit about it being an offshoot of his original quirk, which Todo buys into hook, line and sinker. The next day the faculty agrees to move Shinsou to the hero course, and Present Mic says the kid reminds him a lot of a young Aizawa. He also namedrops someone called âShirakumoâ, which immediately makes Aizawa go all stiff and hastily exit the conversation. Over at the teacherâs dorms, Monoma copies Eriâs quirk but proclaims it another âdud.â He explains that his power only copies the bare-bones of a quirk, and not any accumulated power stored within said quirk. Eri apologizes for having a âbad quirkâ thatâs so hard to deal with. Deku reassures her that powers arenât good or bad and it all depends on how you use them. He realizes this applies to his own power as well, and resolves to master it no matter what.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my mostly-unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. Iâm caught up with the manga now at chapter 225, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
oh my fucking lord
holy shit. itâs Todoroki not using his flames during the sports festival all over again. DAMN IT DEKU YOUâD BETTER FUCKING TAKE ME SERIOUSLY IâLL KILL YOU
that, or theyâre both actually trying to see if they can draw the quirk out again. DEKU IS THIS A CONSENSUAL SPAR. OR DO YOU NEED ME TO COME OVER THERE AND GIVE THIS BOY A STERN TALKING-TO
they do seem to be in one of the gyms, so at the very least they were presumably smart enough to get permission this time and probably All Might is there watching them
lol
on the other hand, All Mightâs supervision doesnât always mean much for keeping them in line. he has to learn to assert his authority more
oh good, my concerns were unwarranted
it is indeed consensual! Katsukiâs actually out here trying to help Izuku learn to control his new ability! letâs just stop for a second to repeat that. Katsuki is helping Izuku to get a better handle on his quirk. yes, that Katsuki. and that Izuku
though it seems like he misinterpreted the goal of the exercise a little bit possibly lol. to be fair, in his mind he probably doesnât understand the need to try and put training wheels on this thing and probably feels like Deku should fucking own that shit
(ETA: and having given it more thought, Iâm gonna go ahead and say heâs fucking right, actually. I wonât get super in-depth about this since Iâve already posted about it before, but this shows how much faith Katsuki actually has in Izuku, though. in his mind he doesnât view the new quirk as a danger, and he seems to be of the opinion that all Izuku needs is more practice using it. whatâs more, once Deku starts muttering about how he tried to lock the power away, Katsuki immediately gets frustrated and leaves, declaring the whole thing pointless for the time being. pretty sure this is because heâs already come to the conclusion that Deku will also reach by the end of this chapter -- that it doesnât matter what the nature of the quirk is; what matters is how you use it. in other words, Deku needs to stop being afraid of it and start embracing it.)
anyways, but the point is that yet again weâre only making forward progress with these two. no regression; no jealousy over Deku powering up yet again. and god but itâs just so, so gratifying to me to not have to go through the whole one-step-forward-two-steps-back thing with these characters. once they learn their lesson, itâs learned. this might be my single favorite thing about BnHA tbh
anyways so letâs continue with this chapter which Iâm only one and a half pages into and am already in love with!
so Dekuâs looking at his right arm appraisingly and confirming that the quirk isnât activating
he says its âpresenceâ has complete vanished
and now weâre getting a flashback to what I assume is earlier that afternoon, after the training exercise but before this little get together
and OH MY GOD BUT YOU GUYS
KEEP KACCHAN IN THE LOOP 2K19
DEKU LOOKS SO HAPPY TO HAVE HIM THERE THOUGH. AND LOL DID HE JUST INVITE HIMSELF IN OR WHAT. YOU JUST TRY AND HAVE A MEETING WITHOUT HIM AFTER THAT SHIT YOU JUST PULLED DEKU
All Might says that Katsuki is sharing this secret with them now, after all
AND WHERE WAS THAT ATTITUDE DURING LUNCH EARLIER TODAY, THOUGH. WELL WHATEVER, I FORGIVE YOU NOW ON ACCOUNT OF BEING SO HAPPY I COULD CRY
so Kacchan is asking if All Might knew about the whole black quirk thing
fffffff so would that be the Shouto-looking one in the trenchcoat, then? godfuckingdammit, they really did only give us one female wielder of OFA and then fucking went and killed her ass
Bakugou please share some more bonding moments with All Might and Deku so I can take my mind off of this please
also sure would hope Shimura was unaware of it, otherwise lord only knows what she was thinking not telling you. though you were likely only a year older than these two when she passed away, so maybe she just hadnât gotten around to it yet. that is, if she takes after you and waits ten million years before telling her successor anything
again, not even a hint of ill will toward Deku for being so amazing. and after all, why would there be? he already sorted out his feelings on that on the night of the provisional exam. he knows what he has to do and he knows what Deku has been tasked with doing. so if anything, Deku getting stronger is only a good thing, because heâs All Mightâs chosen successor and so he should fucking get stronger already
and I love that All Might also caught that as soon as the question was answered he didnât waste time pondering it and immediately went to the next logical step in the deduction process. he is an official member of the Scooby Squad now
and also lmao at âdonât call people trash,â but I wonder if heâll actually listen though. listen, at this point there is no Bakugou character development that would surprise me. he is crushing it; I wouldnât put anything past him
Deku says that all Hellboy said was that âthe time has come,â but Iâm inclined to agree with Katsuki though that there was some sort of external trigger. what was it that triggered his dream last night? and Iâm still not convinced itâs a coincidence that Shinsou has had some involvement with Deku both times that this Vestiges shit happened
oh SHIT
FUCKING YESSSSS OH MY GOD
this. this is the kind of shit Iâve been waiting for THIS WHOLE TIME
how many meetings like this have All Might and Deku had together, though? theyâve discussed all kinds of things about One for All, and yet this is the one topic that theyâve never once addressed, aside from all the way back in chapter 59 when All Might first told Deku about OFAâs origins. theyâve just kind of skirted around this shit. and I mean, I understand why; obviously AFO is a huge trigger for All Might in general, and itâs just easier for both of them to pretend like heâs no longer a threat now that heâs safely tucked away in prison
except that both of them know that is some bullshit, though. because unlike Katsuki, these two clods know about Nighteyeâs prophecy, for one. and there is a reason why thereâs been a fire burning underneath Dekuâs feet ever since the end of summer, and itâs not just because of the conversation the three of them had at Ground Beta. he knows. deep down some part of him knows he canât afford to sit on his hands. thereâs been an urgency in the back of his mind for quite some time now
and as for All Might, heâs been to visit AFO in Tartarus and heâs seen for himself what that situation is like. AFOâs total lack of concern over his current predicament, and his gleeful talk about the âmachinationsâ heâd put into place and about how everything was going just like heâd planned. and we saw for ourselves not too long ago that even the guards over at Tartarus are fearful of AFO and he puts them on edge and they donât appear to be at all confident in their ability to hold him if shit hits the fan
basically what Iâm saying is that both All Might and Izuku have been walking on eggshells when it comes to this topic even though the situation is unavoidable. so Iâm really fucking glad to see Kacchan bring it up almost immediately because yes!! thank you!
OH MY GOD
KATSUKI IS A DAD FOR ONE THEORIST CONFIRMED. oh you really are my son arenât you
smdh fucking look at this shit
and there we have it. he was thinking it as well but wasnât going to say anything about it
two conversations in and Iâm already fucking over the moon at Kacchanâs dynamic with the two of them and the refreshing change he brings to their plot pow-wows with his blunt and straightforward approach. I swear to god Katsuki if I could make you my favorite character all over again I would
so now weâre back in the gym, and Katsukiâs arguing with Izuku. âIâm tellinâ ya, you need to feel more like youâre in danger!â
I like how confident he is that heâd still be able to kick Dekuâs ass even with the new quirk activated sob
(ETA: and in fairness to Bakugou, @addermoray made a really good point a few days ago about his ability to keep up:
this is an excellent take and I completely agree, actually. doesnât really matter how many quirks Deku gets if Bakugouâs one single quirk gives him near-unparalleled firepower, speed, and agility. he can already pretty much do it all, and the one thing he is still lacking (experience) heâs gaining more and more of with each passing day. so good on him; the rivalry remains alive and well.)
and truthfully, his theory isnât wrong. we all know that the next time Dekuâs back is really against the wall OFA is gonna do some crazy shit again
meanwhile Deku is looking thoughtful and says that if the quirk really does respond to his feelings, âthen, at the time...â
DFLKHSLDKJ YOU DONâT HAVE TO REMIND ME WHAT YOUR FEELINGS WERE AT THE TIME DEKU HOLY SHIT IS THIS CHAPTER REALLY GONNA GO THERE TOO!?
aww damn weâre going in a different direction lol
you need to make up your damn mind son. do you want it or not. how about you imagine yourself unlocking it and having total control of it?
meanwhile Katsuki is fed up and walking away since theyâre done with the plot talk and the fighting part and now itâs just Deku standing there pondering
(ETA: and as I said in the earlier edit, itâs clear that right now Deku isnât on the same page as him as far as mastering this. Iâm hoping to see more rival training sessions in the near future now that Deku seems to have come around as of the end of the chapter, though.)
so All Mightâs saying theyâll call it a night then, and heâs asking Deku if heâs all right, and then dropping him off at the 1-A dorms
and there is yet another shot of Deku staring at his hand. heâs been doing that a lot lately
but! this time the panel is actually extremely intriguing though!
okay two quick Dad for One things here
Deku staring at his own hand and thinking âAll for Oneâs powerâ is the most blatant fucking foreshadowing Iâve ever seen though
look at the way his face is lit, half in shadow and half in light. that shit is intentional, make no mistake. Horikoshi knows exactly what heâs doing here. good and evil. light and darkness. the son of AFO and the heir to OFA. I am officially bumping up the likelihood of this theory from 30% all the way to 40%. closing in on fifty-fifty odds now guys
anyway, so believe it or not weâre only five pages into this chapter and already itâs a fave. god I love BnHAâs in-between chapters so fucking much
oh damn
Tetsutetsu what are you doing here in the 1-A dorms
and theyâre having a conversation that is just impossible to translate to English free from any innuendos
I feel for poor Turk over there at Mangastream, I really do. heâs just trying his best
out of curiosity I went to go check the Viz translation to see how Caleb handled it, and I gotta give him props
that must have taken some doing
lol so anyway then we get this panel
KiriTetsu is the purest ship in this entire canon and I will fight anyone on that
also, âeveryoneâ, huh
oh wow
lmao Ochakoâs seemingly-disembodied head in the bottom right corner weirded me out for a sec, especially with her being right next to Hagakure
and jesus christ Toadette, mere hours ago you nearly killed this dude and now youâre hounding him for photos of Hawks that would more than likely get him in trouble to share even if he did have them. please be more considerate
I ship MomoKendou, and seeing Momo with her hair down is so nice. she so rarely does it. she usually has like an Ariana Grande thing going on
I donât know what the hell Mina is doing to Mineta there but I support it
(ETA: apparently this is a reference to A Clockwork Orange. as previously stated, I support it.)
is Kacchan eating by himself. by my reckoning there are still 17 other people unaccounted for so probably not. but I donât see Monoma and Iâm wondering if heâs gonna go bother him. I actually wouldnât mind. it wouldnât feel right if Monoma didnât go bother someone
oh shit
A WILD TODODEKU MOMENT APPEARS
(ETA: I was so excited about him coming to interrogate Deku that I completely glossed over the fact that this line confirms that Shouto also officially has two quirks. Vizâs translation confirms this (âI didnât realize you had two quirks, too.â) so Deku and AFO arenât the only multi-quirk users running about.)
oh shit, again
gotta say, heâs been getting a lot better at passive-aggressively throwing shade lately. got some good practice in with the recent chats heâs had with his pop
ffffffff Deku is Struggling
quirk deprivation! thatâs right! look it up! itâs totally a thing and he definitely didnât just make it up right here on the spot!
asdflskj
oh like youâre one to talk, Mister âIt Took Me Ninety-Four Chapters to Put Two and Two Together Even Though Deku All But Told Me Outright Back in Chapter Elevenâ
but yes he is super trusting though sob
Deku says that Shouto was amazing too and heâs gotten a lot better at using his flames
but Shouto says he still has a long way to go
ooooooh
hahaha Iâm sure people are going to love this
âplease excuse me for a moment, this is a very important text from my estranged sonâ
and what the fuck is with that laughter though. does. does he just not know how to laugh. because it honestly wouldnât surprise me. âoh look, the corners of my mouth are turning upward and there are these strange rapid breaths of air bursting erratically from my chest.â should probably go get that checked out, Endeav
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ngl I kinda wish this projector screen was more high tech. you sent fucking hologram acceptance letters to every kid in the school for fuckâs sake
also this better mean heâs gonna be in class A! let Aizawa teach him!
oh shit. well we had BakuDeku, KiriTetsu, and TodoDeku so WHY NOT SOME ERASERMIC AS WELL
-- OKAY HOLD THE FUCK UP
what was that?? we have never seen Aizawa react to a topic like that before. Mic barely gets the name out and Aizawa is suddenly all âplease shut up fast nowâ
also, so Mic calls him by his surname, at least in public. whatâs up with that?? BUT MY FANFICS lol
well this Shirakumo had better be revealed in the upcoming arc then, and not dragged out for a hundred chapters as these mysteries so often are. well actually, theyâre either dragged out for ages or explained not three chapters later lol. rarely a middle ground with this series
MY BABY GIRLLLLLL
lol thatâs right, she had a previous encounter with him and Mirio was not too pleased
cotton-headed ninny muggins
so does Mirio fucking live at the teacherâs dorms for the time being or does he just commute here every day in order to have Mary Poppins adventures with his baby sis
now Aizawaâs walking up and apologizing for calling Deku and Mirio over
(ETA: which in hindsight confirms that Mirioâs not just there 24/7. aww.)
he says he has a request for Monoma, but he didnât want to traumatize Eri by having the two of them interact unmediated
oh shit
heâs got the horn though lol
so is this a fairly common thing with his quirk, then? strange that some of these quirks heâs able to control with ease mere seconds after acquiring them for the first time, but then with others he canât do anything at all
ah, heâs explaining it now
so pretty much what I thought. except I wasnât aware that Eriâs quirk accumulated power too
although wait, thatâs probably what the horn is. oh shit, so that means that even though sheâs super powerful when sheâs all charged up, it takes her months to recharge afterwards. so if sheâs not able to decrease the recharge time as she gets older, thatâs going to be a really effective limiter for her power then
LMAO
I legit burst out fucking laughing. you almost exploded. sure dodged a bullet there
if he seriously thought that was a possibility, maybe he could have, idk, fucking warned the guy before their match started that his quirk was off-limits for Monomaâs own safety though
(ETA: I guess it just didnât occur to him that Monoma might try it, what with them thinking he had a 3-quirk limit and him most likely copying his teammatesâ quirks instead.)
and now Mirioâs asking why Aizawa wanted Monoma to try and copy it
Aizawa says that he thought if Monoma copied it, they could get a better idea of how it works so it might be easier to control it if it gets out of hand again. âbut I guess it wonât be that easyâ
Eriiiii
(ETA: holy shit is Monoma elbowing Aizawa for making her tear up?)
ITâS NOT A BAD POWER IT IS A VERY GOOD POWER THAT SOME VERY BAD PEOPLE TRIED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
and speaking of, the fact that weâre bringing this up again now makes me hope weâre going to segue to the League sometime soon! because as we all recall, Shigaraki Tomura was last seen some 57 chapters ago taking the Quirk-Be-Gone serum from Overhaulâs very overrated and now nonexistent hands. itâs been quite a while since weâve seen our antagonist, Horikoshi, and the people are getting restless
(ETA: well, then. lol.)
anyway, so Deku is crouching down and telling Eri her power doesnât just hurt people, and that she saved him
and heâs comparing it to a knife -- itâs dangerous, but you can also use it to make delicious food lol
and he says he thinks her power is wonderful
awwwwwww
DO YOUR BEST ERIIIII
and you too, Deku. I believe in you. the journeyâs not gonna be easy, but you can do it kiddo
so thatâs it for this chapter. but damn, that was a hell of a lot of content packed within just 13 pages, though. this is definitely an insta-fave for me
(ETA: itâs in my top ten for sure. so much good stuff, oh man.)

Capture the Flag - PG
Tags are âmicshireâ and âelzashiâ for those that donât want to see these
Mic quickly glanced at the door for about the fiftieth time that morning.Â
"Anxious, are we?" Cementoss murmured quietly.Â
"Relax," Aizawa muttered at his friend in annoyance. "She'll be here. She's not late, Midnight is still explaining things to the students."
"Yeah, yeah." The young people were maybe just as excited as the blond teacher was, eyes wide and raising hands left and right. Midnight had everything to do to calm them down and answer as many questions as possible.
Finally she had had enough. "Quiet, already! She's going to be here, and you don't want to make a bad first impression." She slapped her cat-o-nine-tails to the side in a brisk motion, cutting through the babble. To her right in the classroom seating, Mineta had fallen over and was quite literally foaming at the mouth at the prospect of another female teacher entering the room. She sighed and rolled her eyes, turning just as Tsyu slapped him into sensibility with her tongue.
The door opened during the momentary pause and everyone's eyes fell on Elly in her hero outfit. She wore a soft cloth bodysuit, striped just like her tail in varying purple tones. The belly was white and there were white tufts along her wrists, ankles and about the modest dip in cleavage down the front of the suit. Her feet and hands looked just like cat paws, with soft, rubbery pads on each finger tip and along the toes and heels of her feet. She also sported what appeared to be a respirator type mask to cover her mouth and nose, the bottom half shaped disturbingly like the cheshire cat's curving grin.
Mic's shades dropped down low on his nose as she walked past him to stand by Midnight at the desk. "So cuuuute!" he whined, just loud enough for some of the kids to glance at him in surprise. Aizawa groaned and elbowed him.
Elly's ear flicked, but she said nothing. She just smiled at the students and waited for her introduction. She chuckled when the green-haired kid in the second row blurted out her name, though, seeing at least someone knew who she was. Midnight formally introduced her, and she went about the task of stating why she was there - mainly to help broaden their view on their own abilities, and how the different countries viewed heroes and their quirks.Â
She pursed her lips and looked back at the teachers behind her. "I'd spoken to the principal about this, but wasn't sure if you'd heard - before we get into my abilities, I wanted to show them first."
"You want to have a flag match with one of the staff." Midnight and the others already knew. Nezu had told them, but they hadn't chosen who would fight.
A tall young man in the back raised his hand. "Excuse me - what's a flag match?"
"Each person fighting wears something like a bandanna..." Midnight reached into her sleeve and produced two medium-sized pieces of cloth, one red and one blue. "The goal is to take the other's cloth. It's an easy way to spar without a lot of injuries."
"We used it a lot during mock battles in the States," Elly confessed. "Before we got into serious ones. And sometimes just for fun." She shrugged, causing Mic to turn redder than Mineta's face at the gentle sway in her tail and chest.Â
Midnight saw this, and her eyes narrowed slyly. "I think Yamada should fight her," she suggested.
"Ah..."Â
Elly raised a single eyebrow. "Mic?" She asked quietly.
"Ah!" He had started to sweat, and it wasn't just all the leather he wore. He pulled nervously at his long collar. It wasn't that he wanted to look weak, but he didn't want to use his power on her. Those cat's ears - they were more sensitive than a human's, and he made human ears bleed with his voice.Â
"I'll do it," Aizawa stepped in. He loosened some of the scarves about his neck, his face determined.
Mic blew a sigh of relief, grinning shamefacedly at the cat woman. "Heh." He shrugged and she smiled, shrugging as well.
"Okay."
They started to head into the recently renovated battle arena, the students milling about behind them as they filed out. Mic pulled Aizawa aside before they got there, just as Elly and Midnight walked into the huge doors. "Don't hurt her," he pleaded.
"Who says I would." He grunted, brushed sleep from his eyes and yawned. "Besides, she can handle it. She's a pro hero, remember?"
Mic bit his lip worriedly. "Mmmn." He swerved to the left to watch, moving away as the two squared off.Â
Elly seemed relaxed, although her tail was swishing lightly behind her. Aizawa liked cats, and he knew this meant she was agitated. He waited until everyone was settled, and held his arm out for the cloth to be tied on it, just as she did. The other teachers stepped away again, and Mic belatedly realized he was the one that always played announcer. He jumped to his feet and stood on the sidelines, his outfit hiding his troubled expression.
"Alright!" He called out, losing some anxiety in the familiar role. "First person to take the other's cloth wins!" He paused, then took a deep breath. "Are you ready?" He squealed, his voice rising as it always did on the last word. "Go!"
Elly didn't even move. Aizawa's hair rose as it did when he used his power. She couldn't see his eyes since he'd donned the glasses he wore, but she knew they would be glowing red. Yet all she said was, "So, Eraser... are you afraid of anything?"
"No," he said shortly, aiming at - nothing. There was nothing there. He stopped short. That had been fast! He spun, surveying the area as his wrappings came about, dropping now that he had no target.
"It's funny," a disembodied voice whispered eerily out of thin air to his left. "So many people tell me that, you know." He aimed at the voice and tried to at least snap what he couldn't see with his scarves. No luck. He listened, straining to pick up any sound that might clue him in on her location. "Surprise," she murmured, suddenly right beside him. One paw came up, and there was a glimmer of metal. It was a small scratch, hardly noticeable, and very, very fast. She was gone before he had time to react, melted into nothingness again and lost somewhere within the huge arena.
This went on for awhile, Mic uncharacteristically quiet as announcer. The only sounds were Aizawa's breathing, which was getting rougher, and faint whooshing sounds as he desperately tried to catch her.
"There." He jumped backwards and this time caught something when his wrappings spun out. Elly appeared within a loop of scarf, her mask making her appear more fierce than the look in her eyes.Â
"Cheshire is caught!" Mic yelped, pointing rather unnecessarily and then flailing about in a display of mixed emotions. "Is this it? Will Eraserhead win?!"
"I thought you knew, Eraser," she purred dangerously as he yanked her close enough to grab the winning cloth. "Cats like to play with string."
"What - wait, what's going on?" Mic was as confused as the rest of the students and staff. Instead of ensuring his victory, Aizawa reached up and pulled his glasses up onto his head. "He hasn't nulled her quirk once, it looks like, and now he's showing his eyes? What's happening here?"
"You don't know her fighting style, do you," Midnight stated smugly.
"But..." He stared closely at the scene unfolding in front of everyone. Aizawa's scarves reared up, in a strange display no one had seen before. The wrappings covered the top halves of their bodies. "Is he going for the win?"
The shockingly loud cat scream that echoed throughout the arena seemed to back this theory. But Elly disappeared and just as fast reappeared close to the staff, clutching Eraser's cloth for the win and noticeably upset. Her ears were flat on her head and she was still hissing. Aizawa, however, appeared eerily calm. He had that creepy grin on his face that he sometimes sported when he thought he'd outwitted someone. And he was bleeding.
"What happened?" Midnight gasped.Â
"He kissed me!"
Mic paused, his head cocked as he listened to this bit of information. He saw his friend wipe at his bleeding lips and his shocked brain slowly caught up with what had been said. He took a step towards Aizawa, frowning. He looked back at Elly, who was blushing across her pretty cheeks and touching her mouth with one hand.Â
"WHAAAAAT?!" He yelled almost at full power. His quirk usually didn't manifest unless he triggered it, but when he got upset he sometimes lost control. Everyone clapped their ears to their heads, but the sound had been mainly directed by the speakers about Mic's neck at the person responsible for his anger and disbelief. Aizawa's eyes rolled back in his head and he passed out, a little trickle of blood running from both ears.
"Damn it, Mic," Midnight sighed. "Now we have to rush him to Healing Girl."

I know you mentioned denki as a teacher at UA before!! Tell us more ⤠what was his first day like? Does he have any favorite / memorable students? Has he ever messed up? What's the craziest thing he's done as a teacher? How does he feel being back at UA but in the position of mentor now and not mentee? What made him decide to become a teacher? And more whatever you think of marinya!!
oh sam, you poetic land mermaid, blessing me with headcanon prompts. my angel. my everything.  my father and my son Â
SO!!   in light of breaking it the fuck down right here right now,  iâm about to get fucking lengthy as shit with this, so iâm tucking it under a cut to avoid clogging up the dash. Â
ready steady go!!
01.  what was his first day like?Â
his very first day teaching at UA was the first and last time he was ever punctual in his entire career. Â
he didnât sleep at all the night before, something he would continue to do every year thereafter since he gets way too excited about the first day  (  heâs excited to see all the students!  excited to see all their new quirks and watch them grow throughout the year, even if heâs got a very little part to in it himself.  )
he was about 25 when he started teaching, so still fairly young and baby - faced to his previous teachers aizawa, present mic, and midnight when he ran up to greet them in the teacherâs lounge.  despite being a full - grown adult whoâd long since grown into his body at that point, they all still very much saw him as the sporty kid who was always falling asleep or playing idol games on his phone in class,  being loud,  asking dumb questions, pulling pranks on those who should never be on the receiving end of them; their sparkplug troublemaker.
he ended up eating lunch with aizawa his first day as a means of calming his nerves, and it just sort of become a regular thing after that  (  this is also the last time he actually remembers to bring a lunch  ).  seemed aizawa still had a lot to teach him at his adult age;  mostly things that heâd already been trying to teach him for ten years now, like not skateboarding in the hallway and remembering to actually put some food in that motormouth.
02.  does he have any favorite / memorable students?Â
i had actually joked around with @praisemade about this once, but  â  since denkiâs terrified of spiders, i figure one year he walks in on the first day to find that thereâs a girl in his class who just  âŚÂ  has a giant spider for a head, legs and all.  and he proceeds to lose his everloving goddamn mind every day thereafter.
sheâs very polite and very timid, despite her grotesque appearance up top, although denki just seems to find that all the more unnerving when heâs lecturing and looks over to see her giant fangs twitching sweetly in interest.  heâs so fucking scared every time, like.  he isnât mean to her or anything, of course, but every time he shoots his gaze over to her desk or she approaches him during office hours with a question about the homework, he does a noticeable little jolt and seems to suddenly procure a light stutter.
BUT!  besides our sweet little spider girl, there is one other student that stands out to him, and that is, of course  âŚÂ  KAMINARI SEI, his baby sister that heâd kill everyone in the room and then himself for!
denki started teaching at 25, so by 27, he ended up getting his own little sister in his class, who would be freshly 15 in this verse and who applied for the general studies course.  she doesnât have any intentions of becoming a hero herself, but rather follows in the interest of becoming a medical professional like her mother one day.  denki, being lightly trained as a medic himself, fully supports this, as he would with anything she decided to do with her life. Â
sei grows up to be just as quiet as she had been as a child,  and kind of a super sleepy girl, too;  eyes always half - lidded, voice low like itâs on the verge of a yawn every time she opens her mouth.  most people would not ever believe she and denki were blood related were it not for the matching streaks of black in her light blonde hair.
he invites her over frequently for dinner since he knows that their parents arenât home very often, which she takes him up on about 1/3 of the time.  unlike her big brother, sei doesnât mind the silence at home and actually prefers it so that she can study in peace; denki used to lose his mind in those four walls whenever no one was around with him,  which was often,  hence why very little studying ever actually got done as a kid. Â
his bias for his sister isnât largely obvious to the rest of the class, since routine leaves him kinda dry most days and that just ends up matching her everyday personality  â  so itâs not to say that heâs outright smothering her or anything.  if theyâre being cute, itâs kind of through a secret language that theyâve always had between themselves, which is just more intuitive than not.  despite being years apart, they still get each other.
03.  has he ever messed up?  Â
depends on the context!  in terms of grading, heâs definitely either marked things incorrect that were actually correct or accidentally entered a studentâs grade in wrong to give them a much higher score than they earned a couple dozen times.  knowing this, he tries to be more careful and go a little slower, but, yâknow.  reading the same thing over and over and over and over again tends to make you wanna hurry up and pile through it, especially when youâre a high school teacher living in japan and especially when youâre also a pro hero on the side and especially especially when youâre KAMINARI DENKI, chaotic adhd / dyslexic angel.
if he has a partner living with him in this time, he might occasionally bug them every couple of minutes to proofread something for him or double check to make sure heâs reading a word on a studentâs essay correctly,  and even then he only does so if heâs really been struggling for a while, as he hates to feel like heâs being a bother. ( he tends to come with a lot more anxiety at this age, if you can even imagine.  like  âŚÂ  john - mulaney - accidentally - getting - a - prostate - exam - trying - to - get - on - xanax  levels of anxiety.  )
04.  whatâs the craziest thing heâs done as a teacher?
denki had a bad habit of smoking throughout his college years and still does so every so often when heâs stressed.  one time he came to class with a cigarette tucked behind his ear unknowingly, and when pointed out by a student, he proceeded to go âohâ, pull it out, and straight up eat it without second thought.
05.  how does he feel being back at UA but in the position of mentor now and not mentee?
it feels  âŚÂ  good.  like,  really really good.  like the kind of shit where it doesnât hit you right away that youâre exactly where youâre meant to be, and when it finally does, itâs kind of in the middle of doing something super mundane, like grading papers or buying a milk out of the school vending machine and itâs just  âŚÂ  an overwhelming sense of relief and satisfaction in the fact that you actually did something super right with your life, and for denki, that means everything.  getting to feel that for the first time after his lifelong struggle to find where he fit in actually brought him to tears.  luckily no one was around to witness this, but i can say with ease that even as hard as his job might be, denki is very complacent in his choices and wouldnât change a thing.
also, he likes getting to boss kids around now and throw chalk at their heads for sleeping in class.
06.  what made him decide to become a teacher?
simply put, a 2 AM revelation in the living room of his college apartment, sprawled out on the couch whilst staring idly up at a waterstain on his ceiling that was just barely being highlighted by the salt rock lamp across the room.  that sort of depression vibe.
as i stated before, denki struggled a lot in his first few years of college.  time management was nonexistent as ever.  close friendships were distanced and a little awkward due to an overwhelming amount of anxiety.  cooperativeness slimmed down to near - nothing; he started off on a high, partying often and enjoying all of college to its fullest, but that gradually sloped down to him barely ever reaching out to people anymore as he started failing what bare minimum class he was taking. adult life was terrifying him, and he felt like he was being held underwater at every single point of the day; compared to the rest of his friends and classmates, he saw himself as a failure. Â
he began smoking heavily  â  especially after quitting the soccer team he captained in lieu of trying to catch up with his schoolwork  â  and became much more erratic and short in personality. didnât joke around as much and ghosted people more often than not, which was a huge red flag coming from a guy who couldnât bear to leave anyone on read. Â
ended up skipping most of his classes in the mid - semester, and what very few he did pull himself together to go to, he slipped out of halfway through.  everything was heavy and he was too depressed to actually focus anymore.
spent a lot of time off campus to avoid being seen by friends, going to the city to fuck around for an afternoon, or just hopping on a train with no real destination in mind and staying there til it looped back around and spat him out back home.
needless to say, he was stuck.  and it stayed like that for a good while.
only in the middle of his second year, exhausted from having to retake all the classes heâd failed in the first year, did he ever try to actually do something about it.  only because the anxiety had already run him threadbare to the point of just  âŚÂ  feeling absolutely nothing,  not even fear anymore.  empty space.  like he was both the jar and the thing locked inside it.
so he had a long sit with himself in the wee hours of the morning, textbook open across his chest while he lay half - dead on the couch, not processing a single word of what heâd been reading and re - reading for twenty minutes.  he thought about what few accomplishments he had in life: graduating high school and just barely managing his quirk for the first time.  he thought about his family, who heâd been uncharacteristically cutting off to spare them from seeing what heâd melted down to.  he thoughts about how much he missed his friends and how he genuinely couldnât remember what his own laugh sounded or felt like.  he thought about all the people he wanted to help as a pro hero one day.  he thought about UA.
and then he got around to thinking about aizawa.  aizawa, who denki witnessed not once, but twice immediately sacrifice himself for the safety of his students firsthand.  aizawa who, even in the mess of the world tearing itself down around them, held strong for the sake of protecting his class and fulfilling his role as their teacher.  aizawa who made every student his personal responsibility in and out of school hours.  aizawa who denki never saw anything special in for so long and often quite feared, now coming to him in mind as a completely different side of the moon. Â
denki spent a long part of his teenage years being kinda pissed off at UA for failing its duties to protect them, for watching them undergo that trauma and proceeding to do  âŚÂ  well, really nothing about it, in his eyes.  he wanted more closure than what was given.  he wanted healing, not just an apology and a promise to do better next time.  they were just supposed to get up and move on because thatâs the way of heroes,  and in that regard, UA disappointed him heavily.
for a long time, he didnât see any reason to forgive the staff for that negligence.
only when he thought about aizawa again did it occur to him that his teacher had done everything in and out of his power to change the future that was almost ripped out of their hands every time they faced a villain.  how aizawa had been an unexpecting personal hero to him the entire time, a revelation that sort of began to connect a lot of dots that had been floating in denkiâs empty headspace all those years.  things made sense where they never used to.  aizawaâs personal goals were never concise, and suddenly denki found that they never needed to be;  his goals were stated in his actions of reaching out to his kids where others didnât.  he went above and beyond what was ever expected of him as a teacher. Â
to denki, aizawa stood out in his mind as the true plus ultra UA had been training them to be the entire time, albeit 2 years too late.  and he wanted to emulate that in his own life.  he wanted to help people in whatever way he could, and perhaps that didnât just mean saving people from burning buildings or giving a thumbs - up to a passing camera; he wanted to help young minds especially, save them from everything he and his classmates went through growing up, be one of the hands that guided them to a safe future, someone who never turned his back on anyone ever again.
he wanted to be a teacher, and he wanted to be a teacher at UA.  he wanted to be everything aizawa was and then some; the plus ultra of plus ultra. Â
so, that was a good start.
it was enough to get him out of bed for the first time in a long time and actually start to reach out and seek the help he desperately needed, which was only the first step in his personal healing process, but a big one nonetheless.  everything from there on was just tiles finally falling into place; changing his major, studying long hours, finally attending and actually passing the correct courses.
denki may not have ever ended up telling aizawa this  â  or at least he hasnât found any real reason to just yet   â  but that man really did end up saving him over and over again in ways he wasnât even aware of.
and thaaaaaaaat about covers it for the general questions there,  so all i really have left is these small tidbits and whatnot!
07.   denki still very much skateboards in this verse.  sometimes he will actually skateboard into the school and down the hallways if heâs running late (  but, like, casually. not in a hurry  ) and aizawa has to repeatedly reprimand his thirty-year-old ass for it.
08.  given the hectic schedule japanese teachers are subjected to every day, denki handles most of his patrols as a pro - hero at night. 7th period ends at 4:10 and most students are gone by 4:30, but he stays until about 5:30 - 6 for open office / tutoring hours.  if he doesnât have any papers to grade or weekly lessons plans to write up, then heâs usually ready to go by 8 pm after a light dinner and keeps his patrol up til midnight  (  or later if thereâs trouble  ).  gets home within the hour, showers, and is hopefully in bed by 2 am, only to have to wake up for school again at 6:30.
as you can imagine, he sleeps in on most days simply because heâs so exhausted all the time; also the reason for him being late to class almost every single day.  his homeroom students are used to it by now and the class rep usually knows to start the morning without him by taking attendance and opening up the lesson plan he keeps out for them since, well.  heâs at least a little self - aware.
this is also why he tends to only wear his hero costume on the very first day of the new school year, because it takes too long to gear up in the morning when heâs sleeping in.  he also just prefers the comfort, despite his adult costume looking fresh as fuck  â  so he usually rolls in wearing a loose v - neck under an oversized cardigan, floods, and high tops.
09.   following this, he also has a pair of readers that he wears often!  theyâre thin - wired and circular, like this.  he hangs them off the neck of his shirt when not in use, but occasionally slips them onto his head and very legitimately thinks heâs lost them after that.
10.   he keeps in contact with his graduating class from highschool!  every single one of them.  they tend to run into each other on the field a lot anyway, but he also tries to set up drinking or dinner plans with a few of them each week even though he himself isnât too heavy on drinking.
11.  heâs very spacey as a result of long - term brain damage over the years of literally frying his brain.  the more minor side of that is that he forgets important assets most days, like his wallet or lunch or keys, or leaves the faucet running all day and jacks his water bill.  sometimes he doesnât know where new scars or bruises came from.  sometimes he buys himself a strawberry milk, only to walk into the room and see that thereâs already 2 unopened strawberry milks on his desk that he forgot heâd just purchased.
he manages to be as chipper as he can be throughout it, but itâs hard to pretend something that challenges your everday life isnât doing exactly that.  it takes him a couple extra seconds to process anything being said to him and he ends up repeating himself often.  his conversational skills are a bit of a mess and he tries to keep himself short and concise as to not only avoid irritating / confusing the other person, but also just to make it easier on himself since he stumbles over words a lot where he was once much more verbose.  this especially leaves him very reluctant to be interviewed by the media, which is again a shame, since he used to love the limelight.
a lot of these symptoms arenât horribly unlike those of someone with early onset dementia.  luckily they donât seem to be worsening, as heâs since learned to controlled his power and hasnât had an instance of short - circuiting in years, but every so often âŚ

Twisting Fate

Summary:Â After his last act as a hero, All Might is forced into retirement. Unable to fight. Unable to protect anyone. How does one continue to carry certain burdens when they no longer have the strength to do so anymore. Can the man who's always had criticizing opinions about the No. 1 hero show him that it's okay to let someone help him? Starts post chapter 95 of manga.
Chapter 5: Concern
The days he had to prepare for the students' return to campus passed by in a blur Aizawa thinks as he climbs out from bed, hours before they're scheduled to arrive. As he dresses in his usual garb, he goes through everything he'd accomplished since his own relocation. His belongings were unpacked and somewhat organized. As long as he can find everything, he doesn't care.
He'd only just finished with the students' room assignments the previous day, having a little trouble deciding how to arrange the boys since the class was so uneven and the last thing he needed was a confrontation of sorts between Bakugou and Midoriya. He originally thought that the layout of the buildings were over the top, and had to remind himself that this was UA, so yes, it was over the top.
Other than the room assignments he had to decide how to approach the ten days that they would be on campus until the new term began. The original purpose of the camping retreat was to strengthen their quirks and then be issued provisional licenses. It was the simplest way for the students to get them and while he would have preferred the other option, at the time it was the safest way of doing things which mattered far more than his expectations of their abilities.
Now though, the only way for them to get the temporary hero licenses was through testing and ten days wasn't going to be enough. Even if his class was marginally ahead, they would need to take the definition of Plus Ultra to new heights. In order for them to do this, however, he needed help so he met with several teachers that would be best to help guide them during those ten days so that they'd be prepared. There was also the matter of registering each one them. It'd be a close cut to the deadline, but when you teach at the highest ranked national school you learned how to properly use reputation in order to get something done.
Throwing his weapon over his shoulders and clicking his utility belt into place, he walks out to the kitchen and brews a small pot of coffee. After having been addicted to the highly caffeinated substance, Aizawa was happy to learn that he didn't have to share since All Might preferred tea and caffeine was something that he was meant to avoid.
Pouring the piping hot liquid into his favorite cup (because even Aizawa can take pleasure in the small things) he looks toward the bedroom where said man is still sleeping. He hadn't seen or heard much from All Might since that first night, aside from the whimpers and frantic whisperings while he slept. Over the last few nights, Aizawa learned that his nightmare didn't come to him immediately. He'd sleep soundly for an hour or two before they attacked him.
Aizawa sat in, what he had since dubbed, his spot on the couch just outside All Might's bedroom in case the man woke up but needed someone to bring him from the terrors still. Fortunately, the nightmares didn't seem to be that bad as he remained asleep and eventually calmed down on his own. After the events of the USJ attack, Aizawa had suffered from horrible dreams as well and was able to sympathize with the man, figuring that he was probably seeing something happening to the student he gone to save.
All Might had spent most of his time at the flat in his room. With the treatments he'd been getting from the old nurse, sleeping was probably the only the he was able to. Though he did go out after that first night and came home with a fair selection of spices. Obviously the blonde was much more used to cooking than he was and hoped that once his cast came off, he didn't feel obligated to cook for him.
Aizawa wouldn't complain or turn down a fresh meal every now and then since they were living together, but he really didn't need anyone to concern themselves with his eating habits and feel the need to correct him on it. Least of all a man who was being made to gain weight even though it appeared that he normally cooked for himself. It was odd to Aizawa and he was curious about exactly what kind of wound All Might had suffered from in the past. Not that it was any of his business.
After a second cup, Aizawa walks to All Might's door and holds his ear to the door. There's no shuffling about or whimpering so he must still be sleeping. Before he steps through the front door, he looks back down the hall once more and waits for a minute just to make sure that the man isn't awake yet. It'd be ill timing for him to leave and only minute later for the man to wake up then need help with something.
Aizawa pulls the door closed behind him and locks it even though there's almost no point given where they're at. He steps onto the elevator and thinks back to that first night and how it had been the only night that he had cooked for All Might. He knew the blonde was eating since he'd spot an item or two missing from the fridge when he went to grab a fruit puree, which he needed to buy more of. Maybe after welcoming his class back to campus and showing them the dorm.
The elevator stops a floor below his and Aizawa can't help but roll his eyes. When the door opens, his longtime friend steps on with his hands shoved into his jacket as he hums to some foreign tune only he can hear.
"Eraser," he greets with only the first half of his hero name. "You're heading out a bit early to greet your kids."
"I still need to get them registered for the provisional licensing test," Aizawa explains. "Why are you heading out early?"
"Still finishing the English curriculum," he answers with a shrug.
"I hope you haven't forgotten that favor I asked of you, Hizashi," Aizawa notes, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at him.
"I'm not going everyday, but I'll stop by to help out the two that you mentioned to me," Mic answers and turns to look at the dark-haired man. "You look... surprisingly well rested."
"I am. Sleep has come pretty easily the last few nights," Aizawa admits, not surprised that his friend would notice. Hizashi always noticed every little change about him. "It won't last though. It never does."
The two walk in comfortable silence to the main building, with Mic once again humming that tune of his. Once there, Aizawa stops by the lounge and pours himself a third coffee to sip on while he works. When he gets to his computer, Mic is already hard at work. Aizawa chuckles to himself, listening to the blonde grumble about how he doesn't get what's so hard about the damn language and how the students have major catching up to do since most exams scores had been lacking.
Sitting at his own station, he looks to the spot that All Might normally occupies and hopes that the man isn't having trouble with anything. Every other morning, he'd already been up by the time Aizawa was leaving. This morning had been the only exception and he was half tempted to walk back just to set his mind at ease, but he didn't. It was one thing for him to offer to cook the other night because clearly that had been the blonde's intent and he needed help. But Aizawa knew what it was like to lose all sense of autonomy after an injury and he didn't want to encroach on that and make the man feel more helpless than he probably already did. Instead, he takes a sip of his drink and busies himself with the test registrations.
With all twenty students of his class standing outside the dorm that had been assigned to them, Aizawa welcomes the group back to campus. He reminds them that the important thing is that they are all gathered together safely. The students look amongst themselves and are happy to see that everyone was able to get permission, especially Jirou and Hagakure as they'd been in the hospital the longest because of the attack.
Asui speaks up and tells Aizawa that she is relieved that he was able to return as well. The teacher thinks back to the night of the press conference, how convinced he'd been that he'd be losing his job. He reaches up with his left hand to scratch at his chin, realizing that he probably should have shaved this morning, and admits that he'd been surprised at first.
Instead of haphazardly trying to control all the teachers, they've been allowed the same autonomy as always while keeping a tight grip on their leashes. They knew that they were being watched and were expected to act like normal with that knowledge. Aizawa shrugged the thought away with a clap of his hands to get the students' attention, informing them that they'll be getting a quick briefing regarding their dorms after quashing a rumor that somehow the press had gotten a hold of regarding the nature of the camp they'd been at.
Aizawa confirms that the original plan had been for them to acquire temporary hero licenses at the end of camp. However, because of the attack that didn't happen. He wants to know why some of them thought it appropriate to act as though they had any right to do so. By this point, every face is crestfallen save for three. Good, they know what they've done and that they shouldn't have done it.
He names off the five offending students, showing them that he knew exactly where they were and what they'd done on the night in question. The reactions of their classmates are not surprising but they're not in the clear either. Still, they understand the gravity of the actions taken by the five he named. He informs the class that with the exception of Bakugou, Jirou, and Hagakure he would have expelled every one of them were it not for All Might's retirement.
At the mention of the former hero's name, Midoriya's eyes snap up and meet his. Of all individuals that should not have been there, he was a top contender since he was still supposed be in the hospital that night. Aizawa is reminded that he still didn't know what was talked about during the student's home visit since he hadn't been present for it. He had trusted All Might to secure Midoriya's continued attendance and had delivered. Good thing too, because Aizawa trusted this student the least and needed someone to keep an eye on him.
For the five named, expulsion was obvious. For the other twelve, well they were all aware of their intentions but did nothing to stop them, thus they could be held just as accountable. Their saving grace from here on out will be to follow the established rules so that he doesn't have to deal with anymore headaches from such reports and so that he can once again trust the students.
Done scolding them, Aizawa pushes his irritation aside (because he really hates having to treat them like children though it's necessary sometimes) and turns to show them their new home. Not a moment later, his attention is drawn back to the gloomy bunch as Bakugou forces Kaminari to fry his own brain to which the rest of them find funny. He scoffs at the childish action but say nothing since it seems to be breaking the class from their depressive stupor. Kids.
After class 1-A is dismissed for the day and told to meet in homeroom tomorrow morning, Aizawa leaves them to unpack their belongings and settle in. He shuffles down the front steps and sees All Might standing just outside. The man looks haunted, his blue eyes lackluster and his cheeks even more sunken. He looks like a man about to break down and give up.
He looks at Aizawa and tries his best to smile but the emotion isn't behind it. "How are the students?" he asks.
"They're just fine, though you shouldn't be worrying about them, All Might," Aizawa responds, stopping on the second to last step in front of the man.
Toshi goes stiff when his hero name falls from Aizawa's mouth. Pathetic. How can he still call himself that given his state of health? The name just feels wrong to him now. "You can call me Toshinori while the students aren't around," he says a bit shyly.
Aizawa's brows furrow at the random statement, but makes note of it. His mind wanders to this morning and he shouldn't ask, but the thought just hadn't left him since. "Were you okay this morning? I mean, I just didn't see you awake when I left."
"Oh, I was fine," he assures the dark-haired who he has to look up at since he's still standing on the stairs. "You don't need to worry about me. I've had worse injuries." Toshi's eyes widen as the words leave his mouth, not intending for them to have been voiced.
Aizawa narrows his eyes at the blonde. "Did you just come to check on students or are you headed somewhere?" he questions and moves to step beside All Might and head back to the main building. Toshi falls into step beside him.
"I was on my way to see recovery girl," he confesses, brushing a bang from his face only to have it fall forward again.
"She's taking her time with your arm, isn't she?"
"It's not her fault," he explains, shaking his head. "That's how little stamina I have. Pretty pathetic, huh?" he scoffs. He can barely handle getting himself healed.
Toshi tilts his head toward the shorter man beside him. Aizawa's gaze is fixed ahead of him but he's not paying attention to anything in particular. His hands are stuffed into his pockets. Toshi notices that the teacher doesn't look as tired as he normally. There's more color to his skin.
"I don't think it's pathetic," he says suddenly. Toshi just blinks at him as Aizawa looks up to meet his eyes. "It just means that you've fought hard enough and it's time for you to rest." Toshi looks away from him, feeling his cheeks heat up and hopes that Aizawa doesn't notice.
When they walk past the teacher's lounge Aizawa stops, intending to get another cup of coffee. "I'm going out a bit later for groceries, if you need anything let me know and I'll pick it up."
"I will. Thank you, Aizawa."
The man nods at Toshi, who turns and continues walking to the infirmary. He thinks about the comment that Aizawa made and sighs. He had fought his hardest, but in the end it wasn't enough. The threat was still out there and he was powerless to do anything about it. Still, it was nice of Aizawa to think that he'd done enough, because coming from a man who didn't hand out empty praise meant he'd been sincere.
After meeting with Recovery Girl and answering the same questions she's been asking for days, Toshi decides to spend a little time outside. With only the forty first years enrolled in the hero course to have returned to campus, the place is a bit eerie. The school grounds are large enough that from where Toshi is, just outside where the residence halls are located, all he can hear is the slight breeze in the air.
It was just him under the warming sun with the gentle breeze running through his hair, blowing his bangs out of his face. Toshi takes as deep a breath he can through his nose then holds it for a moment and exhales through his mouth. He'd read something once that deep breathing was meant to help clear one's mind, though he wasn't quite sure he believed that. Still it felt good to not think about anything for a moment. To just exist in the spot where he was standing without any worries.
Toshi walks to the small garden that was added between the halls and looks for a spot to sit. He sees a shaded area beneath a tree and settles himself against its trunk. Closing his eyes, he thinks back to a much simpler time, when he was a quirkless boy.
On days he was lonely, he'd visit the arboretum in town and spend hours beneath the trees there. He remembers at one point, for a time, there was a stray that hung around the tree that he normally sat at. He started bringing treats for the feline and after a couple weeks of feeding it and spending his afternoons with it, it stopped showing up one day.
He made sure to leave something for it nibble on in case it showed up after he'd already left, but after a week of not seeing the cat Toshi decided to look for it. It had been at arboretum everyday for a month so wherever it was sleeping had to be close, right? He must have looked like a total fool because for next two days after school, he searched for that cat.
It was during the second day that he met Nana. The sun was beginning to set and after two afternoons of climbing trees and ducking under bushes, Toshi was losing hope. After he stood up and brushed the dirt from his pants, the thirteen almost fourteen year old boy started to head home. His eyes were downcast and he hung his head so that he wasn't paying any attention to where he was going and he ran straight into the woman.
Rubbing his forehead, he looked up to see a brown-haired woman giggling at him. She was wearing a tracksuit, like she'd been out running. When she stopped her fit, the woman smiled sweetly at him and reached down to help him stand. But it was not the gentle hand that Toshi remembered helping him that day. He flinched and smacked the reaching hand away, looking back to see if it was really Nana there with him.
Instead he sees the hand covered face of Shigaraki and starts awake.
Chest painfully heaving, Toshi rubs his eyes to rid himself of the hellish sight then tries to regain control of his breathing before he has a coughing fit. A good minute of slow, deliberate breaths calm his racing heart. The lack or fear had been nice for the moment it lasted but reality was determined to him grounded in a nightmare.
He remains under the tree for several more minutes to watch the sun start setting after realizing just how long he'd been outside. His casted arm was already itchy and sitting in the grass had only caused his skin to become more irritated. In fact, his whole body itched and ached a lot worse than it had been over the last couple days and he thinks that dozing off was probably a really bad idea.
Toshi lets out a hiss as he stands up and reaches up to work out the knot in his shoulder from where his sling had been resting. Yep, very bad idea to fall asleep outside.
When Toshi walks into the flat, locking the door behind him, he can faintly hear music coming from the living room. Quietly, he tip-toes down the hall and halfway down he can see the veranda door slid open, letting in the evening breeze. He makes it to the end where it opens to the rest of the place and freezes, sucking in a breath at the sight before him.
In the middle of the floor, with his shirtless back to the blonde, Aizawa is sitting with his legs crossed and his hands resting in his lap. His hair is messily and loosely tied back so it's off his shoulders. His lightly scarred back is straight, but not rigid, and his shoulders held parallel to the floor he's sitting 's eyes wander to the man's right elbow and his nonexistent stomach drops when he looks at the starburst shaped scar, reminding the blonde again of who's been hurt by Shigaraki.
He shakes his head, not wanting to think about the criminal any more than he already has in one day. He can't see Aizawa's face from this angle but he imagines that his eyes are closed as he breaths in a steady tempo with the ambience that's coming from the man's was going to boil an egg to eat, but now doesn't even want to move for fear of disturbing the man.
A shiver runs down his spine as he listens to Aizawa release the breath he'd been holding as slowly as possible. Without realizing it, Toshi does the same. He's getting uncomfortable, standing still. His shoulder still aches and his skin still itches. Maybe he can get to his room. It's a straight path there and all he has to do is silently turn the knob, walk in, then lightly push the door closed. That way he can shower, change, and take his meds before eating. That should be enough time for Aizawa to finish his meditation without interruption.
Toshi walks to his bedroom and halts at the door. Aizawa hasn't shifted at all so he's still in the clear. The blonde takes a breath and goes to lift his arm only to have his shoulder lock up in protest. He can't help but to hiss at the pain that shoots to his neck. Aizawa's quirk flares to life at the disturbance and he looks over to the origin to see All Might hunched over in front of his bedroom door. Realization hitting him Aizawa blinks and jumps to his feet, hurrying to the blonde's side.
"What happened? What hurts?" he questions, looking for what might be wrong.
"It's just my shoulder," Toshi answers. "I was trying to get to my room without disturbing you. I'm sorry."
Aizawa shakes his head and leads him to the couch. He sits the taller man down and takes off the sling, removing the weight of Toshi's broken arm from that shoulder. He reaches down and lightly presses down on his skin until he finds the knot. Toshi flinches away from his touch and looks up to Aizawa, who's still shirtless. His heart begins to race as his eyes slide over his sculpted and lightly marred chest. He can feel his cheeks growing hot as he becomes aware of just how close the man is to him.
"Wait here. I have something that'll help," Aizawa says and turns to leave the room, plucking up his shirt along the way.
Toshi sighs and hangs his head in relief, wincing at the pain in his shoulder when he does so. Thank god that he hadn't gone shopping for clothes that fit properly he thinks as he adjusts himself, before the other teacher returns. Aizawa walks from his room, his shirt on, carrying what Toshi would assume to be an ointment of some kind. Walking past his phone, still playing that strange music, he stops in front of the blonde.
"This will help to loosen the muscle, may I?" he asks, not wanting to intrude on his personal space. Toshi nods to him and sits still, trying to ignore how close the younger man is standing. Aizawa opens the tube and squeezes out a small amount of the cooling ointment onto his fingertips. He slides the blonde's shirt aside so he can work in the cream and Toshi shivers when the cold substance makes contact with his skin.
"Sorry, I should have warned you," he chuckles.
Toshi shakes his head. "It's okay. I'm sorry that I disturbed you."
"That? Just pretend you didn't see anything," he suggests, pushing a little harder on the knot in Toshi's shoulder. "Hizashi will never let me hear the end of it if he finds out."
Eyes closed, Toshi furrows his brow at the added pressure on his shoulder. "I wasn't planning to make a spectacle of it. I didn't even know you did that sort of thing."
"I actually don't. Most of the time I'm too tired," Aizawa admits with a shrug. "You smell like grass, Toshinori? Where've you been?" The blonde's eyes snap open at the sound of his name and looks dumbfounded. "What? Should I have-"
"It's fine," Toshi blurts out and shrugs away from Aizawa. "You just surprised me is all." The blonde stands up, forcing Aizawa to take a step back to accommodate the blonde's frame. "Umm, thank you for helping with my shoulder."
Aizawa has to crane his neck up to look at Toshi. "You're welcome," he says and watches the man step around him. "Are you feeling okay?"
Toshi freezes at his bedroom door. "I-I'm fine. I dozed off in the garden earlier and just really want to shower. Goodnight Aizawa," he says in a rushed voice then slams his door closed behind him.
"Oh, goodnight then," Aizawa says after the door is already closed. He stares at it for a second, baffled by what just occurred. If Aizawa didn't know any better, he'd say that the blonde looked a bit flushed, but that couldn't be right, could it?
Toshi waits with his back against the door as he hears Aizawa move across the floor to slide the veranda door closed then return to his own bedroom. After hearing his door click closed, he lets out a soft curse and slides down to the floor. He is ashamed of himself for having such a reaction toward the younger teacher. Sure he thought that Aizawa was attractive, but this... it was all tension. That's exactly what it was.
Toshi is simply frustrated with everything that was happening around him; his own weaknesses, this damn cast he was still wearing, lack of human touch- no goddammit. Huffing, Toshi goes to the bathroom to warm the shower, needing to desperately relieve himself.

Broken Masks- Chapter 2: Trembling Hands
*Read on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25544242/chapters/61981285*
He hadnât called. Shouta paced around the couch. He did expect him to and didnât want Midoriya to be in a situation where he had to call, but he couldnât help but worry. Not after what Bakugou had told him. He had seen the bruises, but not enough to tell how bad it was. What if he was unable to call? What if he was seriously hurt?
âShouta,â Hizashi moaned as Shouta paced past his view of the T.V. for the hundredth time, âHeâll call you if he needs to. He has your number and youâll see him tomorrow if he doesnât call.â
Shouta wrung his hands together. âYou donât understand, what if he canât call?â
âShouta,â Hizashi moaned, wrapping his arms around his waist when he passed his path again, âHeâll be okay.â
Shouta let Hizashi pull them onto the sofa with little protest and stayed quiet as he nuzzled his head into his hair. âBut heâs not,â Shouta whispered, âThere werenât just bruises on his wrist, Hizashi, there were also rope burns.â
He felt Hizashi stiffen behind him, felt his shuttered breath against the back of his neck. âRope burns?â Hizashi whispered. Shouta nodded, too afraid to speak. âAnd you let the kid go home?â
âShit, Hizashi,â he groaned, leaning back to smash Hizashi in the back of the sofa, âBakugou was the one to tell me and by that time, Midoriya was already goneâ
âWhy not call his home phone? Itâs in his records isnât it?â
âDonât you think I did,â Shouta groaned, âIt's been disconnected, and I went by his house during patrol.
âAnd?â
âNo one lived there,â Hizashi shifted behind him, âI talked to the landlord and she told me the last tenants moved out over a year ago and when I gave her a description of Midoriya, she said no one like that lived there.â
Hizashiâs hand fiddled with the ends of Shoutaâs hair, a nervous habit he had taken to recently and Shout knew by the end of the night he was going to have several small braids scattered in his hair. âWhy would they lie about where he lived?â
âWhy would a kid have rope burns on his wrists?â Shouta sighed, âSomethingâs not right.â
âItâll be okay,â Hizashi hummed, âThereâs not much we can do tonight. He has your number and we can talk to him tomorrow.â
âBut what if he doesnât show up tomorrow?â
Hizashi sighed, âHe hasnât missed a day of school yet. Honestly, Shouta, I thought you pride yourself on being smart. If the little listener is in danger, heâll know to keep the number hidden and act like nothingâs different. Heâs clearly a smart kid.â
âI know, I know,â Shouta sighed, âIâm just-â
âWorried?â Hizashi finished when Shouta didnât. âWhat are you going to do tomorrow?â
âGod,â Shouta groaned, âI donât know. Iâll have to tell Nedzu what I learned today before I can do anything else.â
âHeâs taken an interest in the kid hasnât he?â His voice wobbled with the question.
âYeah, he has,â Shouta sighed, âwhich is what worried me.â
In the end, Midoriya never did call, but he was standing outside the front of the school with a looming figure standing over him. Shouta shoved Hizashi behind a tree, not entirely sure why he didnât want the two to notice them. The same uneasy energy crackled around the kid, fear rippling off him in waves. Shaking tightly bandaged hands tried to push the man away, tugging at the heavy hand on his shoulder. Midoriyaâs legs trembled as if the man was pushing down on the kidâs shoulders.
âWho said you could go to school?â The man growled, his voice gruff and deep. Shouta scowled, watching the way Midoriya tried to shrink away as the man leaned forward. When Midoriya didnât answer, the man squeezed harder on his shoulder, his nails visibly digging into the fabric. Midoriya hissed in pain and tried to pull the manâs hands away.
âI asked you a question, boy,â he growled as he grabbed Midoriyaâs backpack and began pulling him away from the school, âWeâre going back. Youâre not done yet.â
Midoriya yelped as he stumbled over his feet, struggling to not fall over as he was dragged backward. Shouta rushed forward when Midoriya tried and failed to get his arms out of his backpack straps.Â
âMidoriya,â Shouta called, making his voice as calm as possible. The two in front of him froze. Dropping Midoriya, the man straightened and smiled at Shouta.
âMr. Aizawa,â Midoriya squeaked, taking a few nervous steps away from the man.Â
Shouta scowled and took a moment to examine the smiling man before speaking. The striking electric green eyes and short, styled shimmering silver hair were a dead giveaway of who he was. âPro hero Wrangler, do you have business with my student?â Pro hero Wrangler, Takaida Nakai a low-rank hero who mainly worked further up North, did just enough work to not get dropped by his agency and never seemed interested in raising in rank.
Takaida grinned and slid his eyes up and down Shouta, sizing him up like it would intimidate him enough to walk away. âSo youâre the Mr. Aizawa Iâve heard all about. Izuku talks about you a lot,â he slapped his hand on Midoriyaâs shoulder more aggressively than necessary, âdonât you, my boy?â
Midoriya stiffened and gave Shouta a pleading look, the muscles in his jaw tight. Shouta didnât break eye contact with him as he spoke. âIf I remember correctly, Midnight wanted to talk to you before class, she should be in her classroom.â
The kid gave a weak nod, but Takaida didnât let go. âSorry, but Izuku canât go to school,â Shouta raised an eyebrow waiting for him to continue, âHe injured his hands this morning, I was going to take him to the hospital, but you know how stubborn this kid can be.â
âIf itâs an injury,â Hizashi skipped to Shoutaâs side, âweâre happy to look at it, Recovery Girl is excellent at her job.â
Takaida hummed, âYes, good enough to give Izuku a crooked hand. I think I would prefer seeing an actual doctor.â
Forcing Midoriya to turn around, Takaida began pulling him away from the two teachers, but not before Shouta saw the panicked look on the kidâs face. Stumbling a few steps, Midoriya stared down at his bandaged hands before looking back at them. His eyes screamed for help and with much effort, he whispered, âIâm not fine.â
At that, Shouta whipped into action just as Takaida did. Electric green eyes flashed silver and Midoriya let out a strangled cry as he crumpled to the ground, clapping a hand where Takaidaâs had been. Shoutaâs capture weapon wrapped around the man and he pulled him off his feet. Hizashi ran to Midoriya who twitched on the ground, his teeth clenched to stop a strangled scream.
Takaida yanked at the fabric, making Shouta stumble and lose his grip just enough for the man to wiggle free. Shouta dived at him. Takaida slithered like a snake in Shoutaâs grasp, but as soon as he thought he had finally gotten Takaida in a proper lock, pain flared up his arm where Takaidaâs hand wrapped around his wrist.
His skin boiled under Takaidaâs grip and his vision tunneled unexpectedly until Shouta couldnât hold onto the man any longer. Takaida wormed away from Shoutaâs reach and with one hard kick to his head, the man ran.Â
A high pitch shrill rang in Shoutaâs ears and the world tilted, but through gritted teeth, he stumbled to his feet and tried to run after Takaida only to be stopped by a firm hand on his shoulder. âEraserhead,â Hizashi said, âYou canât go after him like that.â
âThe hell I canât.â
The grip on his shoulder tightened. âOur highest priority is Midoriya.â
Shoutaâs thoughts stilled and, for a moment, the world righted itself just long enough for him to look down at Midoriya. He was propped against the schoolâs wall looking incredibly dazed. He walked over to the kid with Hizashiâs help and knelt in front of Midoriya.
Midoriya blinked several times before he seemed to realize someone was in front of him. Opening his mouth to speak, he scowled and closed it again as his eyes trailed behind Shouta, his pupils dilating too quickly. Taking a shuddered breath, Midoriya raised a shaking hand to his shoulder and focused back on Shouta. âThere was something I needed to tell you,â he finally said, his voice rough and barely a whisper, âI-I canât remember w-what it was.â
âThatâs okay, little listener,â Hizashi said, grabbing Midoriyaâs arm, âLetâs get you inside and looked over first. You can tell us later.â Midoriya hummed as he was pulled to his feet and with the help of Hizashi and the wall, he began shuffling to the school entrance.
Groaning, Shouta pushed himself onto his feet. âIâll call it in then meet you in the infirmary.â
He had messed up. Again . Stop. Present Mic had started pacing the moment he had helped him onto a chair and Recovery Girl looked seconds away from yelling at him. Youâve ruined everything. Stop. Just like he said you would. Stop! Everythingâs going to fall apart because of you. Stop it! Youâre a disgrace. Stop. Theyâll be after you now. Stop, stop, stop!
A light flashing in front of his eyes had him jerking back into the present. Hizashi had stopped pacing and Recovery Girl was in front of him, waving a bright light around. âAre you with us?â She asked as she moved the light away. Was he? He wasnât sure, but he nodded anyway.
She hummed and looked back at Present Mic. âWas he responding to you before?â
âHe was at the beginning, but heâs been in and out. He responds to sudden changes or loud noises, but it seems like he keeps being caught up in his thoughts.â
She hummed again and eyed Izuku with concern. Was he really that bad? Youâre causing trouble for them. Stop. You should be doing better. Stop! You should be stronger. Stop it. All Might shouldnât have given you his quick. Stop. You didnât even use it. Why didnât he use it? He scowled in thought and began to dig his thumb into his palm.
âSee?â Present Mic whispered, âIt's not like heâs unaware, itâs like his thoughts are too loud and keeps drowning out everything else.â
Recovery Girl sighed. Itâs your fault. Stop. âI havenât seen symptoms like this in decades.â
âLike what?â Aizawa asked from the doorway, his movements drawing Izukuâs attention. Blood trailed down the side of his face and he held his arm close to his chest, but he walked into the room with his head high and eyes trained on him. Heâs mad at you. Stop.
âSit down, then Iâll explain,â she huffed, pointing to the bed next to Izuku. Once Shouta was sitting, Recovery Girl gave him a peck on the cheek and shuffled around the room to grab a cloth to give to him. Look at that, you made him get hurt. Stop. Youâre useless. Stop! If you didnât exist, no one would suffer. Stop it!
âHeâs experiencing symptoms of a quirk suppressant.â What? He looked down at his wrists, there were no cuffs on his wrists. Sure his hands were wrapped, but suppressants couldnât be put on something so thin. Wait. Why were his hands wrapped? Useless. Stop. You canât even remember what happened to your own hands. Stop! Imagine what could happen to you if others didnât look after you. Stop. Imagine how much people could get done if you werenât such a failure. Shut up! He knows, dammit, he knows.
â-on the way.â Izuku jerked at the gruff tone of Aizawaâs voice. You missed something. Stop. They can use that against you. Stop.
Recovery Girl touched his hands, making him hiss and yank them away. âMidoriya, you need to stop.â Stop? He was trying to. Was he mumbling? He stared down at his trembling hands, the bindings rolling on the sides like he had been rubbing across something. Because he was rubbing them. Pain sparked down his arm as if the thought had permitted his hands to yell at him. You deserve it. Stop. Sharp, burning pain rippled from his palms and wrapped around his hands like phantom hands still clung to him.
âMidoriya,â she repeated his name causing him to look up, âI need to examine your hands. Can I remove your bandages?â
No. No. Donât let her see, you canât let them know. Stop. Theyâll know youâre weak. Stop. Youâll ruin everything. Stop it! He shook his head with his eyes squeezed shut. He couldnât bring himself to see the angry look his teachers were certainly giving him. He shook his head again, returning to digging his thumb into his palm.
âKid.â Izuku stiffen and held his breath, Takaidaâs voice overshadowing his teachers so when large hands brushed against his wrists he couldnât help but pull away, his chair tilted back from the force he hit the back, but it didnât fall.
His eyes flew open to stare into angry green⌠black eyes? Aizawa stared back at him, looking more concerned than angry. Itâs a lie. Stop. âSorry,â he mumbled, âsorry. I- Iâm sorry.â
âMidoriya, itâs okay,â Aizawa said, his voice unusually soft, âweâre trying to help.â
Help. You donât deserve it. Stop. Youâre wasting time that could be used to help people who do. Stop it! Izuku nodded and began to pick at the bandages. He may not deserve it, but the faster he gave them what they wanted, the faster they could get back to helping others. You shouldnât have even let yourself get in this situation. Stop. Why did a failure like you even ask for help? Stop! You donât deserve it! Stop!
Unable to get his hand to stop shaking long enough to find the end, Izuku started to scratch at the back of his hand to get it off. Useless. Stop. Canât even do something this simple. Stop! Aizawa sighed and gently pulled his hands apart. Without a word, he began unwrapping his hands, taking his time in shifting his hand to avoid hurting him. Even with how careful Aizawa was when his thumb brushed against his palm, Izuku hissed and tried to pull his hand away. Aizawa didnât let go and continued until he caught the first glimpse of blackened skin. Aizawa paused, sucking in a hissed breath, and with slightly less stable hands, he continued.
Fear flared to the forefront of his mind as Izuku watched the last of his bandages were removed and he was forced to stare at the blackened skin shaped suspiciously like hands. Black bruises streaked across the back of his hand to wrap around his hand and settle at his palm.
Aizawa was faster with his other hand, or so Izuku thought. He wasnât sure, everything seemed so distant as terror rippled through him. You deserve this. Stop. You should have just done as he said. Stop! Theyâre going to know youâre a liar. Stop. Know you gave a villain information. I didnât know. You should have. Stop it! You should have known. Stop. You should have seen the patterns sooner. Stop! Why did he ever waste his time training you if you never learned anything? Stop it! This is why your motherâs never home. Stop. She canât stand how much of a failure you are. Stop it! Stop. Stop. Stop!
Large hands covered him, causing Izuku to look up. He blinked. Was Aizawa saying something? His mouth was moving so he probably was.Â
âLike I said,â Recovery Girlâs voice filtered into the ever-present whispers filling his mind, âHeâll slip in and out of responsiveness until we can figure out what heâs taken. Now move so I can see his hands.â
Aizawa shifted to the side and she took his place, making the same hissing breath Aizawa did when he saw Izukuâs hands. She turned his hands over multiple times before turning to the other two in the room. âWere either of you touched during your encounter?â
Present Mic scowled, âShouta was, but it was Wrangler who was attacking, his quirk doesnât cause damage like that.â
Recovery Girl whirled on Aizawa. âWhere did he touch you?âAizawa frowned and rolled up his sleeve, showing a striking similar black handprint wrapped around his wrist. âDammit,â she hissed grabbing Aizawas wrist, âI thought he was gone.â
âWho?â Present Mic asked, glancing over Aizawaâs shoulder to look at his wrist.
âBlack Mask,â Izuku whispered.

Iâve been thinking about it for a while, mostly set back from the thoughts because of on personal in denial of the possibility -- But, I might have adhd? Itâs nothing new that I always had a set of difficulties performing even the most basic chores; even school work. Even now, Iâm aware Iâm supposed to do a lot of writing but thatâs what I said to myself 2 hours ago. Now Itâs 00:15 [edit, itâs 00:36 now] and I have 5-6ish hours to sleep. RIP. I never considered of a mental illness solely because I never got officially diagnosed. Then again, my country [i say country because..weâre still old fashioned from the soviet times.] LOVES covering up the fact the fact some people might have these things, so you hardly ever find much information on these things, aside from psychology/suicide hotline/other websites. Basically, only from those that are talk about it; but rarely there is a single flyer that could mention these places even exist. A simple click of a button with google can bring the information, but honestly? I keep forgetting about it x10000 times;; Initially I believed I had depression, back in the day. Mostly because there where some traits common with a depressed individual [inability to perform tasks; losing interest in a lot of things..] I thought I self loathed myself too, but It was just a bit of insecurity. Now, I donât really care as much/eventually forget in a couple of seconds. Day dreaming was a factor of my assumption, until I accidentally hit up some sources (eventually help of a school psych to disclose some things) about adhd: Hyper focus. Constantly day dreaming; even at times youâre trying to get your full attention but then you realize you havenât heard a single thing; Messiness? I thought I was just a slob but most of the time, Iâm like, I literally can do this? But I canât start from everywhere? Iâm not sure if I make sense with that BUT anyways Inability to stomach a lot of text -- And Itâs coming from a roleplayer. Even though I enjoy writing and receiving lengthy replies, I tend to look at the bare minimum of information. I struggled to reply for days because, I just saw that I needed to write a lot on particular things, and I canât just get away with responding to 1-2 events/reactions and writing a shit load of what is my oc going through and what action theyâre attempting to perform. + Iâm relieved that my s/o has a particular rp writing style that I can get my full attention on, because Itâs usually broken down to the main parts of a thread and such. I like rping, but since Iâm lately not able to do the slightest thing.. I chose to keep it off a little or do the bare minimum. [Already this post that Iâm writing, the only thing I looked at was the hyper focus word LMAO] I forgot to disclose the fact, that I kinda fidget. I donât fidget that it looks like a spasm or as someone who could seem as having a seizure (because those where either options I was told that exist), but I did notice a lot of occasions where I keep tapping my foot at a rapid speed, at classes. And alone from that I get distracted and think about the tapping. RIP. ++++++ info; I noticed I am good at things that actually take my interest. Iâm always perfect at English, but I tend to be close to failing at Lithuanian/Native language. Especially when the subject focus is literature. Literature has a tendency to have books and cut paragraphs of some books, and HIDE some sort of meaning. I donât know if that has something to do with my assumed ML, but I never, never can see the hidden meaning in the given information. Like, ever. I still remember how my old lt teacher got always mad for me and called me incompetent, while the vague translation could be something as a retard, tbh. I got hooked on a game that was pretty much horror porn. Obsessed it over days and ruined my sleep even more than I ruin it now. I only stopped with It when I got all of the endings from my favorite characters and got some mini bonus thing for it. I enjoy playing overwatch, but I feel insecure continuing. I get called on my sudden decisions of an act so often, Itâs getting really fucking tiring. It doesnât help I tend to be really talkative and comment over a lot of things on the mic + over things that are outside the game. So, Iâd rather not play at all because Iâm a burden to others, at a multiplayer game. I have a vague memory of my mom bringing me to some institution, and Iâm pretty sure that place had to do with figuring out issues with your kid. Since my mom was pretty lame as a parent of a young kid, she never brought me up for the last sessions. I still recall doing some math quiz with some worker while she was asking me some math-unrelated questions. I donât know what to do, in the finale of my words. Canât really say this to my mother because Itâs questionable that sheâll take it seriously. Always unavailable to communicate or tends to ignore me (not even subtly, sad), so Itâs... Kinda pointless to do begin somewhere from a close relative. Iâm just, I just need to know. Iâm bothered about it because I feel like this could be also a placebo effect and all really Iâm experiencing is just a form of lack of responsibility and has nothing to do with ML.
