Today was the first time I stepped on Corbus Field since June 2012 when A'Ti graduated from Vallejo High School. We attended the 15th annual Stop the Violence Track Meet where Tino & A'Ti were being honored. It was bittersweet to say the least...bitter because of the "reason" we were there, and sweet because Mr. Kenny Lewis cared enough about our babies to honor their lives and bring more awareness to how senseless violence destroys families. Thank you Mr. Lewis...you are truly awesome for what you have done over the last 15 years to bring the community together & honor those who have fallen victim to violence. I know times are tough right now between law enforcement and the community. It's going to take major effort from both sides to repair relationships....but I have hope. Chief Bidou from the Vallejo Police Department and Mayor Osby Davis were in attendance. They both showed major love & support and expressed a sincere interest in working with Just Us MA's to help get through these rough times. Although it was very emotional today, I left feeling good!!
