Hey as you noticed I've discovered your art recently and I'm impressed with how well you can pull of your own style and so because of that I wanted to ask you for this thing I've been scared for awhile. It's a fusion between a older version of Aubrey from Omori and bill cipher from gravity falls my 2 all time favorite characters and I have a awesome idea for how the fusion would work. Yeah I know a fusion between these 2 is weird but I thought it'd be cool so if you don't mind please try it!

Normally i do Not take art requests, esp from here, but idk it felt fun to do! I’m not too much of a fan of fusing humans since whenever I make fusions, I always have the power of abstract. I’m glad you really enjoy my art though! It means a lot :)!

I DID have other ideas for this but I panicked because I realised it kind of counts as gore and I do not like to frighten myself so I held back. Also idk fam this seems more like possession than a fusion but weh, take it as you’d like!

do you ever think about how selfless c!karl is? like, to a fault? he gives and gives and gives but he so rarely takes for himself.

karl cares so deeply for his friends and his fiancés (well, when he could remember them both). and i think that’s a big part of why he switched sides mid-war. even after Schlatt had annexed his own country (rutabagville), he switched sides to support them. and then he says himself when mexican l’manburg was created that it was his favorite place because that’s where his friends were, nevermind his home and party island in l’manburg. karl dies for mexican l’manburg. he literally sacrifices a life for his country and his friends, which is probably the ultimate act of selflessness.

and then he starts time traveling and he does have something for himself but he still protects others. he tries to save the people in the times he travels to and protect his friends from the weight of his secret all at once. he builds a new country so he can keep going back and helping people and doesn’t let anyone know about how his memory is deteriorating because it’s nobody’s burden but his.

i think that’s something that makes this decision between the inbetween and the other side so difficult. he’s drawn to the other side because it’s the selfless option, in his eyes. he gets to save so many people throughout the history and future of the server. literal lives lay in his hands. the inbetween is the more “selfish” option. it’s the option that preserves him and the one that’s he’s not compelled to take until he thinks about his friends. he knows that his memory loss could hurt them and that they’d be upset if he was just gone all the time. the inbetween would let him keep them in his life. as much as karl wants to choose the more selfless option, he finds the “selfish” one compelling for selfless reasons.

karl is selfless and that’s what makes this decision so difficult.

here’s a side by side just for fun also, because i actually put THOUGHT into a drawing for once and i wanna talk about it because i don’t think very often so i’m proud of myself when i do

random note that isn’t very important is that the background is exactly the same in both drawings !! i even made sure the sun and the moon are exactly the same size (big)

the chromatic aberration around the edges of the second drawing isn’t as intense mainly just to add to the lighter airier feeling, while in the first drawing it’s more intense because Emotions and shit. it makes sense in my head

speaking of airiness !! every part of scott that can be floating a lil is. it’s rlly just his hair, the weird gossamer thing ? (idk what it actually is lol) and the. i don’t wanna call it a loin cloth idk what you would call that. i think it was originally a skirt thing i might’ve forgotten some parts of it oh well. i only did like 4 days of a fashion design course and no part of it covered this okay okay. anyways this is also part of why his wings are up in the air like they are! just adds to the floaty vibe i think

ANOTHER reason his wings are in the air is because i wanted him to take up much more of the canvas this time. in the first one he’s small and all close to the ground, a much more defeated version of practically the same pose as in the second drawing (kneeling with his eyes closed and hands by his sides) while in the second he’s much more in control of what’s happening to him and confident of his powers and so like. big = confidence

there isn’t actually any significance in the difference between the halos besides the second one looks more like a sun while the first is just spikes lol. tho if u wanna be pretentious u could interpret it as his head being clearer and him not being stuck inside his own mind so much. idk

He wonders a few things about that invisible blood. If he can wash it off, is one; if there is some holy fount strong enough to erase the stains. If hands folded in prayer and washed in water counter the sins committed with them.

THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS REN!! so lent (or, ‘for lent this year, give up your lofty ideals and embrace the carnage of holiness!’) is my least read dsmp fic but one of my favorites anyway. i spent a lot of time cleaning up the lines and editing word choice, and i’m VERY happy with a lot of quotes out of it. including this one: “In the moment with a bowstring touching his cheek and an arrow about to be loosed, he had felt something like holy himself.” the themes in that oneshot very much are about the corrupting force of anger and violence, and the disguise of those things as something righteous and good. the whole fic is one big unreliable narrator too - do we trust quackity’s point of view here? was it righteousness when he killed schlatt? what about any other moment throughout the fic that he displays that “holy” rage? it’s a question, and an exploration of a theme, not an answer. i had a lot of fun setting it up that way on purpose!

another fun metaphor thing is the idea that quackity has blood stained on his hands throughout the entire fic. that “invisible blood” is his own anger and guilt, and it grows throughout his history until the point later on when he says it’s not just on his hands anymore - “It’s in his mouth and down his throat, in his stomach and in his guts and in every part of him. A baptism is not enough to wash it away.” - his whole self is corrupted, in some way, by those stains of blood. he compares the blood to wine as well, and there’s another bit at the end - “There is no water holy enough to wash him, so he doesn’t bother with water at all.” - and that’s a fun little bible reference there. something about water being something cleansing, but water is not enough for him now; with the references of “blood like wine,” we can look at that good ol’ miracle of water turned to wine and find our answer of what it is that he’s referring to instead - q’s baptism is in blood. giving up lofty ideals and embracing the carnage of holiness, indeed.

Would you give any advice to novice dsmp authors or fic writers? Like what could be helpful for those that are new to writing for this kind of Fandom? As well as for a few characters like example c!Sam or c!dream. Thank you for your time.

Hmm I'll do my best, but I'll admit writing advice is not my forte!

To start, here is a handy guide to writing dialogue for a ton of dsmp characters, although for me personally, I tend to just watch their lore and just, copy their style of speaking pretty much? But idk if that works for everyone. As for getting started, my first dsmp fic I basically wrote one scene I would've liked to see in canon, at the time Tommy and Techno talking while Tommy was first exiled, and that evolved into seven chapters! You don't have to start with any big over-arching plot, starting small is okay! It can just be a single scene, or something you wish they explored more in canon, anything! And I tend to write pretty in-universe stuff, I haven't attempted any au fics so far, I prefer writing stuff based on canon, that way you can let canon sort of guide your narrative!

As for specifics– Writing c!Sam, knowing his moral compass is key, I've found. As well as understanding that his strength is largely a facade and deep down he's terrified. Here's a great meta post about the way his stupid little brain works.

And for c!Dream, you know the go-to metaphors, everything is a game to him. He thinks he's a god, and he weighs every choice like a chess move or like poking an animal with a stick just to see what happens. Dream isn't childlike, but he is childish in my book. He wants to win and he treats other people as things to entertain him. Now, if you're looking at in-prison Dream– He's terrified. Quackity leaves him powerless and scared, and he doesn't know how to deal with that, but that doesn't make him any less calculating. The Dead Don't Dream is my interpretation of pre-prison Dream at his peak evil, but as for how I view prison!Dream, if you want some idea of how I see him in that state, I have this oneshot, Is your blood as red as this? and there's a lot of prison!Dream content in my Awesamdude-centric fic Rocks That Bleed which is also where you can see more of how I interpret Awesamdude. These are just how I've decided to play around with these characters, not necessarily the right way! I'm pretty sure there are clips out there of cc!Dream and cc!Sam talking about their characters, although I don't have any handy, I'm afraid. And checking out the tags for their characters on @/dsmpanalysis can give you some more ideas for how other folks view them!

The final memory of Minamoto no Yoshitsune is this.

A crater gurgles in the middle of the room. Slick blood clings to the break in pallored and scarred skin, where innards dangle limply on display as a meal for maggots that lie in wait.  Black hair remains in disarray, where once stood proud feathers gore mats their bristles from lack of care. The sound of chittering, of nonsensical squealing echoes. Kingu’s, where the features of Uruk’s beloved Enkidu are twisted by a soul into a gleeful sneer.   

It is immediately smeared with crimson, a spit in defiance for an evil that was to weak to complete their path. Weak but victorious feeling gives her the strength to smile. Despite the batter and waning form that the servant bore the woman that choose to live this second life as best as she could, the acceptance of defeat never creeps upon her. Fear does not reach her.

After all a weapon knows no fear; it could be faced with the most brutal of challenges with sound mind, it could act without hesitation and without prejudice.  No matter how broken and mangled the blade could be reforged, realigned and sharpened once more. 

But what happens when there is nothing left to reforge?

Beneath the waves of the primordial sea a gasp is consumed. The sensations that occur the moment the servants body is submerged is one of juxtaposed conflict. It’s heat causes her intestines that hung outwardly to bubble and burst as it ate away at the flesh in an instant. It’s frost freezes her saint’s graph until its chipped away and shattered.  The inhuman howl that is smothered rings clear only in Ushiwakamaru’s head for as long that her sense remain her own. 

In reality it happens in all of an instant, it happens in an eternity.  In the moment that bones snap they are reforged harder, the moment that her saints graph is decomposed it rights itself again. Ushiwakamaru’s, Minamoto no Yoshitsune’s death is one of suffering. From the moment the tar touches her the barest hint of skin to the moment that she it torn apart to the very core as she drowned. 

The first memory of                               is this. 

A murky form throws her head back, where a satisfied sigh leaves her lips the mud melts away from warm skin. The sound of singing, of a lullaby tones sweetly as a mother as she ushered her child into the world. Emotions swell, where there was once a weapons faux mimicry of humanity true feelings fill in the gaps. Anger, Joy, Hatred...... Love. 

Love that only a child could bare for her mother, Tiamat. 

Welcome to the new humanity, Ushiwaka.

Gwen’s home is actually pretty monochrome. The colours of furniture, countertops, and appliances being a combination of cool grey and black tones— But they do have plants placed throughout the space, so it brings in a bit of colour! Given that it’s an apartment, though, they can’t change too much. The space itself is large, as far as apartments go, so Gwen has space to move around in. Bookshelves are lined with different books, journals, and whatever other knick knacks they could find. They don’t really do much here; aside from working, sleeping, and sketching if they have time— they mostly try to keep themselves out of the house, if at all possible. But its still good to have their own space.

As for clothing, they store each piece separately. Their room is one of the bigger spaces in the apartment, so they took advantage and filled it up. Their closet is filled with all kinds of pretty shirts~ From lace, to ones with frilly sleeves, to a combination of the two. They have a dresser for socks, underwear, and any other miscellaneous items (including corsets :3). Then a completely seperate one just for pants. They have a bad habit of buying clothing when they don’t really need it, but if it’s pretty then they’re buying it.

They actually cut they’re hair! On their 19th birthday, they decided to give themselves a haircut— call it a fresh start of sorts (fitting, given they were born on New Year’s). It’s a shorter hairstyle, one that doesn’t go past their neck. They’ll either just wear it as is, or have a ‘half up-half down’ vibe going for them. They’ve decided now they don’t have as many appearances to hold up, they can let their hair rest in its natural state, and take care of it way better than they had been.

They’re generally dismissive when it comes to stressful situations. So they never really actually deal with them, but just tell themselves that ‘It’s not stressful,’ ‘You aren’t actually stressed,’ or ‘This is normal.’ But if it’s an emotion that’s causing them stress, they’re evasive. Running and hiding until the feeling goes away. If stressed enough, though, they might breakdown. They push and compact everything into such a tight box, that if something’s just a little too much, or their general ‘tactics’ don’t work, they fall over the edge.

Gwen doesn’t like alcohol, they hate the substance actually. Given their position, they kept having drinks shoved in their face, with no choice but to drink, from a very young age. Alcohol’s known to affect a child’s brain development. (there are drinking ages in place for a reason.)This, along with the negative feelings they have associated with it, make them physically ill whenever it’s mentioned or offered to them. But there are cases where they have to keep up appearances, or just have no other escape, where they may drink enough to numb their senses. They don’t take any drugs.

As for health, though— they have a few conditions, so they take medications. They have anaemia and asthma, those are the biggest ones; so they have iron supplements and asthma medications, as well a nebuliser and inhalers if the need calls for them. HRT is also a treatment they’ve committed to, though they prefer gel treatments rather than injections or pills. After their incident with Richter, they were on several different medications for heart complications, and so it could beat correct, but they no longer take them. (as for previous procedures— they’ve had top surgery >:3, but the scarring was minimal, and healed up nicely.)

Their voice drifts between feminine and masculine a lot, and it’s actually hard to put into words how I’ve been imagining their voice sounding?? So I have voice claims! The voices for both female and male Altmer in Skyrim both fit Gwen quite well. (because of the fluctuation, punctuation, and accent— and because one of Gwen’s parents was an Elf T~T)

I’d say for their normal, run of the mill speaking voice, it’s a mixture/in between of the two. But depending on the situation at hand, it drifts more towards feminine and masculine.

Buddy, I understand entirely how you feel! To have to let go of something that’s made you feel good is difficult, and I would know!!

Adventure Forward has given me so so so many new friends and new ideas. It’s been a huge inspiration for me since 2019, and it’s given me probably the best community I could ever ask for on here.

Paper Roblox literally gave me an identity! For so long, I was always so unsure of who, or even what I was. Once Aristris came around, my identity has become a whole and I have finally learnt to understand myself as I am!

To let go of a huge part of your life is breaking and hurtful, and I understand it hurts a lot. Unfortunately, twitter doesn’t understand that. Rover did the right thing to keep his people safe, but I will always stay right where I am, in love and care for my people and be their inspiration for as long as possible.

Throughout 2019, I was a clueless kid. I always believed bad was just an unlucky thing to run into. As I got older, I began learning the bads of people and it’s taken me a while to learn how to cut them out. By 2020, I became severely depressed, hell, I was close to abandoning this account so many times. When 2021 hit, I experienced so much trauma it terrified me how I even managed to keep going.

But no matter what hell I’ve been through, all of you have been there for me, looking out for me and caring for me when you feel I need it. After three years of believing I was undeserving of love and support, you all continued to care over me as time went by. I have an ongoing growing community of awesome people, and awesome friends who continue to stick by me no matter the consequences.

Friends since 2019 and 2020, you have all suffered so much with me, and I still love you all since. Those who have been later to the party, as clueless as many of you have been, you still stuck around for me. I love you all so dearly and I appreciate you all here. It was thanks to AFPR that I’m still here. I have met horrible people in my life, but this tumblr community right here, and my friends who look after me continuously, are all I need to keep going.

To be afraid of letting go of afpr isn’t a bad thing. It hurts to watch everything burn, but that’s okay. Us tumblr afpr fans have done this since 2019. Regardless of the drama, we will still keep going. Afpr is back in our hands and we have the opportunity to share it together. It’s why I encourage you all to express yourselves here. What is Karl's lore outside of tftsmp.

I have watched tftsmp but outside of that I only seen a few clips and 1 library building stream (that bbh mostly did)

hi! so most of the lore karl does now is tftsmp and what you watched w the building stream was part of a series that was mostly just building that i think he was calling “after the tales” which is probably what you’d look up to find them? there isn’t any good playlists of his dsmp streams/lore that i’ve see unfortunately. you can probably cherry pick his vods from the massive feral boys vods playlist, try this karl vods playlist, or find early stuff by looking on archive.org and sorting by 2020

but it’s also worth noting that he did lore before tftsmp started, it was just more along the line of improv lore. vod links and specific info are below the cut but here are some general things that are essential to his character beyond tftsmp:

his involvement in manberg and switching to help pogtopia in the war (+his country, rutabagville)

his relationship with first sapnap that became a polyam relationshup between him, sapnap, and quackity

sacrificing a canon life to establish the independence of el rapids

establishing kinoko kingdom with george and sapnap

i’ll be honest with you and say that i haven’t seen all of his early dsmp vods but he was involved in the manberg era and famously switched sides mid-war (he has a bit where he says that he was always on pogtopia’s side). he actually moderated part of the debate between POG2020 and SWAG2020 if you’ve seen that (here’s quackity’s vod).  here’s a few random vods i can think of from pre nov 16:

he also was involved in rebuilding l’manburg and generally was part of new l’manburg, doing a bunch of building during that era.

my favorite of his early lore, though, comes from the mexican l’manburg/el rapids arc which you want watch in its entirety HERE (you can skip the first vod). he’s not in the early parts of this arc and joins the country a bit late. the stream that is most essential to his lore though is actually a quackity stream, where he loses a canon life. i recommend all of it though because it’s awesome improv lore and super interesting imo.

he also appeared on a bbh egg stream and was defending quackity once but i can’t for the life of me remember when that was

karl’s lore is super interesting but sometimes hard to find because a lot of it happens on other people’s streams (especially quackity and sapnap’s) and so many off his vods were lost to time. you can read about a lot of it on his wiki page though too!

The thought of it - blunt and real and settling into his head - startles another laugh, another sob, out of his mouth. Karl tried to kill him. Karl tried to kill him in the woods and no one would have found him.

Time is a circle.

“You were right,” Quackity says. “You were right. Time is a fucking circle. It’s always going to catch up with us.”

HEHEHHE okay so if ur a fic writer you are probably well acquainted with the phenomenon of having A Scene™️ in your head that happens way late in your story, so everything you write is like “just a few more chapters until The Scene™️” the entire time you write? this is The Scene™️ in devil town. like, down to the exact snippet you picked out. quackity showing up on the sbi porch, soaked in rain and blood, a little hysterical in both tears and laughter, and the exact dialogue “time is a circle. it’s always going to catch up with us in the end.”

i had this shit planned from DAY ONE, babey. that’s early early outline stuff, and BOY was i excited to finally get to write it when i did - this whole chapter took me one day to write. start to end. it was SO FUN.

a fun thing to pick out here is the use of the phrasing “no one found her / no one would’ve found him.” that’s a phrase that comes up a bunch in dt, because i wrote it in there on purpose! the people who say it are always people connected to the disappearances in the woods. the first use comes from q back in chapter two - “Tommy is dead, Tommy is gone, they will never, ever find him.” other characters who say it are notably wilbur - “They never find anyone in those woods.” - techno at least once, but interestingly his line is about himself, not someone else - “Maybe they’ll find him. Maybe he’ll be the first one they do find in these woods, suffocated to death by something growing in his chest right here over his brother’s bloodied jacket.” - and tubbo references it some point as well if i’m not mistaken.

they never find anyone in those woods. it’s a very hopeless phrase, and the ones who use it know exactly how hopeless it is. makes sense that quackity uses it the most!
