Now to contrast my Lance drabble, here's a soft self insert for Reala ^^

Reala x Reader

"Reala? Where are you taking me?"

"Just a bit farther, my heart."

"Can't you give me a hint?"

"No, I don't think I will."

You chuckled as you continued to blindly follow your lover, your eyes closed at his request and your arm looped together with his own as he lead you to wherever you both were headed.

Your brows quirked when the sound of shoes on stone changed to the light crunch of grass. The sudden breeze you felt confirmed you two were outside, "Just what are you planning?"

"I told you, it's a surprise." You could practically feel the coy smirk on his lips, "Just a bit longer, my dear. Be paitent."

You playfully huffed at that but remained silent as he asked. Your smile fell in surprise when a few minutes later, you heard what sounded like... A bird?

The two of you finally came to a stop. Your nightmaren lover whispered in your ear, "Alright, now open them."

You didn't need to be told twice. After letting your eyes adjust to the sudden light, you gasped at the gorgeous creature before you, standing tall and proud as it stared back at you curiously.

"Reala, is that...?"

"A jewel bird, yes." He replied as he stepped a bit closer, bringing you with him. The jewel bird lowered its head to get a better look at you both, "She won't bite, she's docile."

After some encouragement, you reached up and gently ran your fingers through the unimaginably soft feathers, making the bird let out clicks of approval. Your eyes were wide with amazement as you stared and admired the creatures beauty, how her feathers gleamed in the light and how her claws seemed to be made of her namesake and her ruby like eyes peering down at you. You could definitely see why her species were called jewel birds.

"Reala, this is... This is amazing!" You turned to him with a wide and bright smile, "She's gorgeous" The bird seemed to recognize that word since she let out some pleased noises and nuzzled further into your hand.

The general gave you a rare soft smile, the kind of smile he 9nly saved for you, "I'm glad you enjoy your gift so much."

"My gift? You don't mean..."

He gestured to the dream avian, still smiling warmly at you, "Meet your new steed."

You gasped again, not expecting this at all. Well, you knew one of Reala's love languages was gift giving, but you never expected him to give you something like this!

With a happy smile, you leaned forward to give him a grateful kiss on the lips, you would have embraced him but your hands were still holding and petting the bird, "Thank you so much!"

"It was my pleasure." The first level purred out, his eyes fluttering close at the feel of your soft lips. When you pulled away, you resisted a giggle when you saw his slight pout.

Looking back up towards the bird, you recognized some of her features and asked him, "Is this the same kind of bird that the goodles ride?"

"Yes, but also no." Reala explained, "This breed of jewel bird is far more friendly then the jail birds. While the jail birds are trained to take care of criminals, your jewel bird can be the most loyal companion if you treat her right."

You nodded understandingly, laughing softly when the bird gave you a playful headbutt, "I can tell we'll get along already. I'll definitely take good care of her."

Reala just stood back and watched you bond with your new friend, his smile growing with each laugh you emitted. Once again, you proved his fear wrong.

Everytime he was afraid of how you would respond to a present, you always proved him wrong with your words and actions of gratitude. Even when you walked in on him trying to fix the broken bracelet he had planned on giving you, you still gave him a tender kiss and offered to help him repair the peice of jewelry. His surprise may have been ruined that cycle, but the memory still made his heart beat faster.

He truly didn't know what he did to deserve you, but he would do everything in his power to ensure your happiness as you do for him every cycle.
