What would it be like to be spock,s mate/ other half ?
This goes for a Non-Vulcan, gender-neutral reader
Words: 841
Warnings: none
First off, Spock would cherish and love you very much – in his own way.
So at fist it would take you some time to being able to read him and find out what his love language and way of showing his caring for you is.
Maybe that first phase can be frustrating because it feels like he’s still rather distant. Tho he’d actually need some time to get used to the whole situation and know how to deal with it.
But once you figured him out, so much he did earlier in the relationship would make sense. And of course anything else he does in the future.
It would take him some time too to get to know and fully trust you before he will tell you about what he thinks (and feels if he does have a feeling for once)
He will almost never say ‘I love you’ but use other words like ‘I cherish you’ or ‘You mean very much to me’ or ‘I must admit that I am feeling a sense of happiness I cannot and do not wish to suppress if I think about you having decided to be my mate’.
Which, if you consider him being Vulcan, is something very sweet to say.
He will always remember anything you told him and not forget any birthdays, anniversaries etc. and will also be able to gift you something that you maybe just mentioned in passing.
He’s not the most touchy person – especially in the beginning – and will not often initiate physical contact with you. Or at least ask first like if you’d like a hug when you’re not feeling well.
Which doesn’t mean he doesn’t like physical contact – it's just something he’s not used to and after a while he will even enjoy it when you just hug him. (But of course you respect his boundaries if he sets any and will also try to hold back some touches so you’re not constantly touching him)
If you don’t work on the same ship as he does, your relationship often becomes long-distance, consisting mainly of regular calls.
Which also means that moments he’s back with you are something to be cherished and enjoyed, making you try to spend as much time together as you can.
He’d make it clear that he also has a responsibility to the crew and the ship. Meaning his work usually comes first.
Then again, if he feels like your life is in danger he might even make a rash and not so logical decision sometimes.
Your little quirks would amuse him to no end and he’d find them super cute but he’d never admit it.
But if you mention them being silly, he will correct you, saying they’re a part of you and that he loves you as a person and you wouldn’t be you without your quirks, meaning he doesn’t want you without them.
You totally could have long talks with him and sometimes the biggest challenge is that they don’t turn into a monologue of him where he’s talking and talking about a topic. (eg something scientific or one of their adventures they’ve been on)
Of course you would introduce your families to each other and Amanda loves you from second one, treating you like a second child
Sarek is of course more reserved about it all and he might seem scary at the beginning but with time you learn to read him too and that he means very well and is fond of you as well.
Spock would teach you a lot about Vulcan and it’s culture while you try to show him things from your world and make him more open to them. And it’s much fun to see him try and struggle with some things (take Inline skating as a basic example)
Jealousy would totally not be a thing. Because you know that if someone flirts with him it would be illogical if he paid attention to it (and might not even notice what they’re doing). And he trusts you too and knows that there is nothing he has to worry about if people try to flirt with you.
However, there sometimes is the thought within him that he fears you could leave him for ‘someone better’, who is from your own race and would be able to show their love for you more openly.
Meaning that then it’s up to you to comfort and reassure him that he’s the only person in the whole galaxy you want.
It gets better once you get married because of the mating bond that would be done then.
The wedding would be mixed, part Vulcan, part from your world. And it most likely would come to be when he’s experiencing Pon-Farr.
But he has informed you about it and even proposed so he’d know that if it happens to him you will be willing to take him as your husband (or wouldn’t feel forced to just do it to save his life) and that it isn’t all totally surprising to you.
Thank you so much for your ask and sorry this took a while. (also I really hope I got it right and this was about what you wanted xD)
#ask and ye shall receive#spock#spock x reader#spock x you#ngl this was so much fun to write and finally do sth for spock again#he really is a lovely lovely cutie#ask#bullet fic#s'chn t'gai spock

All about speed
Thank you to @flashfictionfridayofficial for the prompt
The Fandom? Thunderbirds - of course
The characters - Scott Tracy, Virgil Tracy, John Tracy
🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
He took a deep breath, and leaned down to check the laces before spinning the wheels.
Oh well, here goes.
A sharp breeze ruffled his hair as he tentatively stood up, wobbling a little as the rollerblades skidded on the slick surface.
It had been so long since he took to the velodrome, recalling the times when he would streak ahead of poor Virgil, who huffed and puffed. His stocky legs struggled with the inline wheels.
Often he would wobble and fall on his butt, before giving up, removing his footwear and sitting uncomfortably on the grassy verge.
John, on the other hand, was much more competitive.
He would streak past yelling
"HEY... SLOWPOKE. GOTTA GO FAST!"
Before zooming off in the distance.
Scott grinned at the memories, before checking his safety pads and helmet and taking the first wobbly moves.
At least the velodrome had been resurfaced after a decade of neglect and disrepair. So it would be a smooth ride with no bumps and ridges to trip him up.
Pushing off, his heart thudded and nervous adrenaline coursed through his veins.
Sheesh, you'd think, after surfing on a satellite dish aa well as other manic thrill rides through some of the rescues, this would be a piece of cake.
Or maybe he was getting too old.
A sudden yell and gust of wind, made him stumble a little.
"HEY! SLOWPOKE! GOTTA GO FAST! Heh, what's keeping you?"
John spun around, skating backwards, grinning and waving.
Considering how clumsy he was, just after returning Earthside, his red headed brother was graceful, fearless - and fast - on a pair of roller blades.
Oh, he couldn't let John win.
Nope
No way
Grinning mischievously, Scott yelled back.
"YOU'RE ON!"
Before pushing off to chase his brothers trail!

Choose Women's Inline Skates: A Guide to the Perfect Fit
Whether you're new to the world of inline skating or a seasoned pro, choosing the perfect pair of womens inline skates Australia can be an exciting yet daunting task. The right pair will enable you to skate longer, boost your performance, and reduce the risk of injuries. In this detailed blog post, we'll guide you through five essential tips that will help you find the perfect pair of inline skates for your needs, skill level, and personal preferences. -
Determine Your Style and Skill Level:
First and foremost, it's important to establish the type of inline skating you plan to do. There are several styles to choose from, including recreational, fitness, urban, aggressive, and speed skating. Each of these styles requires specific features in inline skates. For beginners, recreational or fitness skates are suitable, as they offer a comfortable and stable ride. As you progress in skill and experience, you may want to level up to more specialized skates tailored to your preferred skating style.
-
Choose the Correct Skate Size:
Achieving a perfect fit is crucial when purchasing impala roller skates Australia. A comfortably snug fit ensures that your foot won't move around too much, reducing the risk of blisters and improving overall performance. To find the right size, start by measuring your foot length and comparing it to a skate sizing chart. If you're shopping in-store, don't hesitate to try on different sizes and brands to find the one that feels best. Keep in mind that different brands may have varying sizing standards, so it's essential to rely solely on your measurements. -
Examine the Skate's Components:
When choosing the perfect pair of women's inline skates, it's crucial to examine the various components that make up a skate. Here are some key factors to consider: - Boot: Look for a boot that provides adequate support without being overly restrictive. A soft-boot provides more comfort and flexibility, while a hard-shell boot offers increased support and durability. - Frame: Aluminium frames are more lightweight and offer better energy transfer, making them ideal for long distances or speed skating. On the other hand, plastic frames are more affordable and suitable for beginner skaters. - Wheels: Smaller wheels (80mm or below) offer increased maneuverability and are better for urban or aggressive skating. Larger wheels (90mm or above) provide better speed and are ideal for fitness or speed skating. - Bearings: A skate's bearings determine how smoothly it rolls. Look for a higher ABEC rating (5 or above) for smooth, fast rolling. -
Set a Budget:
The price range for womens inline skates Australia can vary greatly. It's essential to establish a budget before shopping, as this will help narrow down your options and prevent overspending. While it's tempting to buy the cheapest pair available, investing in a higher-quality, better-fitted pair will ultimately be more beneficial in the long run. As your skill level improves, you might want to upgrade your skates, so keep that in mind when setting your budget. -
Read Reviews and Seek Expert Advice:
Lastly, do your research and seek advice from professionals in the world of inline skating. Read reviews on the skates you're considering and ask for recommendations from more experienced skaters or shop employees. Online forums and social media groups focused on inline skating can provide valuable insights into the fit, quality, and performance of various skates from those who've tested them firsthand. Conclusion: Choosing the perfect pair of womens inline skates Australia doesn't have to be a daunting task. Following these five essential tips will ensure that you find a pair that fits your needs, skill level, and personal preferences. By determining your skating style, choosing the correct size, examining the components, setting a budget, and seeking expert advice, you'll be well on your way to enjoying the thrill and benefits of inline skating. Don't forget to lace up your new skates and hit the pavement — happy skating! Read the full article

Conversation
During a conversation over poutine tots at the Skatebirds' treehouse lair
[Wherein we find Knock-Knock, lead of the inline-skating avian trio, opening a substantial-size kraft paper envelope as contains tourist brochures promoting Rex Beach, Minnesota and surrounds--as well as a cover letter with some advice.]
KNOCK-KNOCK: At least our inline-skating marathon to Rex Beach for the summer might have some productive worth after all--especially for Scooter!
SCOOTER: What exactly did you have in mind there?
KNOCK-KNOCK: In making our way cross-country towards Rex Beach and our summer gravitas, the local tourism agency in Rex Beach would like you to pass out [holding up a handful thereof] these brochures to interested passerby, promoting same along the way!
SATCHEL, adding his bit to the conversation: Let's just hope such doesn't add to the litter or the filler in the recycling bins of such who receive it!
SCOOTER: Which, if anything, is certain to make our journey a little more interesting!
KNOCK-KNOCK: Especially where you have small-town hick types who have yet to hear of Rex Beach, to begin with! Or, for that matter, us!
SCOOTER: Just imagine the selfie opportunities galore!
SATCHEL: At least it'll be interesting to get back out on the road, even if Skat Cat isn't out there bothering us anymore ...
KNOCK-KNOCK: I certainly hope Scooter can rise to the challenge, so to speak! Just as the O'Malley twins from Atlantic City, Winifred and Virginia, walked all the way from Atlantic City to Miami in the 1920's for the sake of promoting Atlantic City--that, know, being inspiration for this effort!
SCOOTER: At least I still have my courier bag for storing the brochures in beforehand ...

Erin Jackson is an American long track speed skater. She grew up in Florida and was involved in inline skating (with wheels) and after watching several of her friends go to the 2014 Olympics on ice she decided to try it. After only about a year on ice she made the 2018 Olympic team but she didn’t have the technique yet to be really fast.
This past year she won half the races in the sports shortest distance and was the world ranked number 1 at 500m. Think the 100m in track and field in terms of sprinting.
No black woman had ever won an Olympic medal from any country. No American had won an individual speed skating medal since 2010. No American woman since 2002. The last time an American won the 500m was 1994.
Going into the US Olympic Trials she was the number 1 threat to medal for the United States. But she slipped or stumbled and came in 3rd in a race where the US only had 2 spots. The US speed skating federation had rules for if a medal favorite fell at trials but she hadn’t hit the ice and with clear and incredible pain they didn’t grant her a reskate.
The woman who won that race, Brittany Bowe was a childhood friend of Jackson’s and she is a 1000m specialist who was unlikely to medal in the 500m. She gave up her spot so that Jackson could go. Jackson who had been disappointed but calm through the entire ordeal said of her that the world knew what kind of athlete Bowe was before but now they knew what kind of person she was. Bowe would a few weeks later get an extra quota spot and get to race the 500m anyway. She would also carry the flag in the opening ceremonies.
Today with her friend looking on Erin Jackson won a gold medal in that race.
That is why the Olympics is compelling.

No one cares about my inline skating takes but at least it doesn’t feel weird if they get ignored on this medium
Instagram’s “explore” page /algorithm provides very static images of the different skating disciplines. Roller skating (quads) is young, beautiful women doing effortless tricks or looking cute with perfectly customized skates. Aggressive skating is the archetypal skate rat bro in baggy clothes and no safety gear. Distance/fitness inline doesn’t show up much, but when it does, it’s random Europeans or older American women in coastal towns with long pedestrian paths. Slalom/wizard is also exclusively random Europeans, usually Eastern European women performing dazzling wizard moves.
I’m trying to seek out more people like me but I’m not represented in Instagram’s conveyance of the world of skating. I see bits and pieces- the aesthetics of quad trends, the recklessness of the aggro boys, the passion of the distance skaters, the dedication of the wizards. But it’s still not me. You don’t see any women (or more importantly, NB, but i’m not “visibly” nb) aggro skating. You don’t see much young American rep in distance skating.
I can keep complaining about the optics, but I know it’s superficial
I wanna start moving my insta presence towards a more skaterly one so I can hopefully find more people like me and maybe inspire more people too

We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:
Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana, who is also known as Saint; a 20 year old son of Horus. He is a figure skater.
FC NAME/GROUP: Saint Suppapong / Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana (Thai actor) CHARACTER NAME: Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana / ศุภพงษ์ อุดมแก้วกาญจนา AGE/DATE OF BIRTH: April 17, 2000 (adjusted from 1998) PLACE OF BIRTH: Ban Khlong Nonsi, Koh Chang island, Trat province, Thailand OCCUPATION: Professional figure skater HEIGHT: 1,81 / 5’11 WEIGHT: 62 / 137 DEFINING FEATURES: Caramel brown eyes that remind of his father’s golden eye, chubby cheeks and a bright as the sun smile, tends to wear his hair styled up but occasionally has it down for competition or styled shoots, broad shoulders relative to his frame, multiple scars along his legs and a few on his hands from skating injuries as well as rough calloused feet, scarring along his right outer thigh and just above the hip from a car accident in Seoul when he was 15
PERSONALITY: Suppapong, or as everyone calls him by Thai custom Saint, is a very driven individual and it shows in everything he does. Almost everything has a goal, whether it is choosing his food, declining your request of him or moving to the other side of the world. He always has a reason and he rarely gives up on his goals. He wants to make his family proud of him and strives to be the best. Not just as a figure skater but in general as a person he wants to be complimented and told he did well. Even so, it is undeniable that the man has a side of arrogance. However he sees it as something that even though it has its negative effects, if he controls it well is a perfect drive to keep him going further and further till he reaches the top. That and his rivalry with others. He can be prickly and impatient with things he doesn’t think worth his time yet he has the patience and focus to repeat one thing over and over again at training till he gets it just right. Though, faster is better. He considers himself unlucky but in reality he might often be the cause of his own misfortune. His highly demanding personality spills over into his personal life and surroundings, making it often hard for him to mix well with people who don’t have a similar mindset of working towards a goal. Add on to that his charisma and he can come across intimidating to some. But those who know him well enough are aware there’s a whole different side underneath. The brightest laughter and the most caring friend you can wish for. Crawling and clawing yourself to that spot however is not easy. But when you get there, he might just drop his guards and relax for once and you’ll see the Saint that doesn’t just act nice for the sake of it but who is actually warm and kind-hearted.
HISTORY: Born an only son of a resort owner on Koh Chang island in the Trat province of Thailand Suppapong, nicknamed Saint, never had too much to wish for in his childhood when it came to material things. The resort did well but as a result thereof and his mother’s wish for her son to excel he did not live on the beautiful island for long. Instead the boy was sent off, encouraged (made to) try many things to find his niche he could reach the top in. His mother wasn’t unkind, gods no, but she was determined in her wanting the best for her son. She saw finding your talents and excelling in them as the goal in life and as such created that life for Saint. His father was Horus, the Egyptian god who had a similar perfectionist attitude in the things he did. The boy never complained, always having seen it as normal for him and that he was made to excel, to make his parents proud. And eventually, in a local city they found something. It started with inline skating. Saint practically flew on the skates and in a short time through his joy and passion for the sport was doing tricks. The watchful eye of his ‘caretaker’, Aawut Ritthirong, who’d been with him throughout this search for his talent immediately saw it. He added to it. He had seen Saint excel in controlling his body and movements and knew exactly where to bring him. One flight to the capital Bangkok later and a scheduled training with a private coach they found it. Figure skating. Not only did it match the boy his interests and talents, it was also a prestigious sport. Fast forward one year to the age of 7 and the young Thai child arrives in an unfamiliar country with just his caretaker and one suitcase full of clothes and personal belongings. Everything arranged for him there to become who he needs to be. In Paris he begins training to become a professional, and this is where he meets a lifelong rival and friend. Timothée Valère Iver. The two boys are both the opposite and same poles of a magnet. At times attracting and at others repulsing one another. And it made for a very fruitful training environment, especially for Saint. Not only that, for the Thai demigod it was also a social experience and a relationship that eventually opens his eyes to more. Nothing is meant to last though and at 14 he is sat in a plane again with a suitcase, moved across the globe to Seoul this time to train with a new coach. Through his years he perfects his English and learns relatively well French and Korean, good enough to get him through most conversations. Most of all of course, he soars as a talent in the world of figure skating, dominating the field of youth competitions alongside Timothée. But it has a shadow side as between the two, one of them shines just that bit more. And it’s aggravating, to know how hard he works and seeing his rival take the majority of first places. However, Saint is determined to overcome him and to be the pride of their family his parents wish for. Or so he thinks they do. Countless days and nights are spent training to the point coaches, fellow athletes and friends try to stop him before he overworks himself. The blisters on his feet are endless but he skates through them and when he makes a mistake and falls or creates a wound on his legs or hands on accident he covers it with bandages and continues on as if nothing had happened. He suffers injuries because of it and from simply being unlucky at times, yet pulls himself out of them quickly. But it all doesn’t matter, because his rival remains to be above him. He makes it look so easy, something he could never achieve. At times the injuries and fatigue lead him to ‘bomb’ a competition in his own eyes, having to be satisfied with a 3rd or even 5th place. Unthinkable in his head, and his phone calls with his father every other week do not help. Everytime he asks about a competition and Saint has to tell him he didn’t come in first a piece of him turns black and rotten. He just wants to make them proud, but until he can win those competitions he can’t. Time distances him from them, unable to open up to his parents. To not even mention his inability to manifest wings like his father and half-brother are able to. Eventually, down a spiral of greed for success in his sport and auto-aggression focused on his high demands on himself he is urged by a manager to take the offer for a magazine shoot and interview. He does it and finds it’s addicting. Having people fuss over him, giving him whatever he wants and not even minding when he’s being arrogant, not to mention the responses on it afterwards when it is published. And slowly but surely he begins taking more and more of these jobs where he can fit it in his schedule, even appearing on entertainment shows. Despite the fact he still never misses a single day of training, those surrounding him see his arrogance grow more outward. Where it had been a driving force when it had been inward, it was now becoming something bigger that others had to deal with as well. Yet with his natural charisma and glorified attitude as the hard-worker they’re willing to accept it of him. That is until his mother calls, having heard and seen her sons changes. His caretaker still reported all his daily activities to her and tells her he’s worried he will be overdoing himself to the point of fainting or worse. She thinks the same and that it’s a distraction as she worries he has given up. And maybe a part of him had. She pulls him back and with another call to his father the young man is sent off once more in his existence, this time to live a more reclused life on Mount Phoenix. The only reason he complies is because it’s his parents, and because his rival just so happens to be training there too. He will be the best.
PANTHEON: Egyptian CHILD OF: Horus POWERS: Ability to manifest falcon wings and fly with them for short periods of time though it drains his energy rapidly and he hasn’t been able to do it yet, limited manipulation of air such as the ability to create small gusts of wind (also still developing), naturally charismatic as a leader STRENGTHS: Incredibly hard-worker who rarely gives up, focused learner, funny and good at socializing (when he wants to socialize), open-minded to people and opportunities WEAKNESSES: Perfectionism leading to overworking and being highly demanding of himself and his environment, being too strict on himself, arrogance and occasional self-pity, tunnel vision when he is too focused

Thanks for the skate review! I am actually already a rollerblader for years before quarantine but my old skates were too small and in the past I just went to the local sporting goods store to try them on. So this is my first time trying to buy online, plus in the past I'm primarily an indoor rink skater. It's been so long since I've had to shop for a new skate that I feel like I'm flying blind shopping online. None of my friends skate, so i'm jumping at any chance for skate talk!
2) And as much as I loathe the idea of online dating or making friends during quarantine, I'm kind of dying for some socially-distanced activity buddies. It was cool to find someone whose blog I was following happened to skate! I def don't live anywhere near you, but I'm here in skating spirit! As a challenge, I've also been trying to figure out quad skating during quarantine(which is a related but different beast). Even with the skate shortages, it's cool to see others picking up some wheels
*
omg A REAL LIVE EXPERIENCED ROLLERBLADER!! can you teach me how to do a t-stop without falling flat on my ass?? lol. I have been watching all of those SkateFresh videos on YouTube and working diligently on balancing drills but I still cannot for the life of me figure out how to actually use my dragging skate to stop. if you do end up picking up a new pair online, i’d love to hear what you think of the brand! i kinda picked the k2s at random (i read a million reviews but still did not feel super equipped to make the decision) but i really like them.
re: quarantine buddies -- i deleted my facebook years ago but just created a new one SOLELY to join my city’s inline skating social group. it’s such a charmingly wholesome page! just people posting pictures of their skates + of smooth parking lots they’ve found around the city. it’s very charming and when it gets a little cooler i think i’ll try going to some of their socially distanced parking lot skates. hope you can find a group too!

Bread’s Skate (?!) Journal 09/06/20: The Other Ones: A Look Back On The Tony Hawk Imitators Of The Early 2000's....And BMX XXX.
Looking back at Tony Hawk as a series that's pretty solidly in the past can cause someone to easily forget how those games were actually thought of at the time: Hyper popular. As a result of that popularity, it was easy to see a bunch of other games and franchises that wanted a piece of that money, some from Activision themselves, some....very much not. Some of these games were good! Some of these games were so bad that they've become something of a legendary laughing stock in the game landscape as a whole.
As I said, Activision was no stranger to trying to apply the Tony Hawk formula to other sports in an attempt to cash in on the extreme success of their franchise. Sometimes these cash in's actually made for decent, if unoriginal games. Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX was more or less a carbon copy of the Tony Hawk formula, but with BMX Bikes instead of Skateboards, and it actually worked pretty well once you got used to the inherent differences of the two different styles. Other attempts were not quite as fortunate as Matt Hoffman though, and both of them sort of had the same "downhill" problem. Shaun Palmers Pro Snowboarder was an attempt to put the Tony Hawk formula into a snowboarding game, and while that should reasonably work, the linear and all downhill nature of the levels really didn't lend themselves to a fun time.
Following from Shaun Palmer was "Wakeboarding Unleashed featuring Shaun Murray" which is quite a title! It was originally revealed with the far more descriptive name as "Shaun Murray's Pro Wakeboarder" but I have to assume that was changed to...distance the game from Tony Hawk? It's a confusing move to say the least. The game was actually quite decent, more so than you'd assume from something like a wakeboarding game, and you can tell there was some talent behind it, the games issue was that, by design, it was pretty much always on rails. You were literally pulled through the levels behind a speed boat, and even though there was plenty to trick off, it lent a feeling that you were just being guided to the cool set pieces rather than actually doing any exploration of your own, it deserved better. Hell, it at least deserves it's own Wikipedia page, the only mention of it at all is on Shaun Murray's very small Wikipedia entry, an ignoble end for a game that least tried something new.
I had to find a screenshot for Shaun Murray, which I swear is real, and this is the only one I could easily find online. I swear this game happened!
Of course Activision wasn't the only studio trying to capitalize on the extreme sports craze and the Tony Hawk trick heavy style. EA found what I would consider the greatest success with franchises like SSX, and one entry wonders like Freakstyle (which is a seminal game for me as a kid, but one I feel very few people even know exist), a sort of blend of SSX and racing through the lens of Motocross. Hell, eventually EA would make Skate, which outlived Tony Hawk itself for a few years, and I already wrote about earlier this week, an excellent franchise that was nonetheless heavily inspired by THPS.
Now, there are far more imitators and hanger on's, some good (Splashdown, while closer to Wave Race, definitely stole some of it's vibes from THPS). Some incredibly bad (Gravity Games: Vert, Street, Dirt, an abysmally bad Tony Hawk ripoff from the early 2000's immediately springs to mind) and some downright strange (Four words: Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure). But only one company tried so hard and failed so miserably, and that's Acclaim, and BMX XXX.
This is genuinely what some of the worst impulses of the video game industry look like.
Acclaim had found success early on by getting Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX out only one year after Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and it certainly wasn't a terrible game. It felt a little clunkier than what came out of Neversoft at the time, but it was definitely playable. Acclaim also went on to put out Aggressive Inline, which, while it might sound insane to say about an inline skating video game, is genuinely one of the best extreme sports games ever made. So Acclaim had real reason to believe they actually could put something out that would rival Tony Hawk! Then they put out BMX XXX.
BMX XXX is one of the most insipidly stupid things that any company has ever produced, certainly one of the worst video games ever made, and was so bad that Dave Mirra forced Acclaim to take his name off of it before release. You really can boil this game down to two things: Dave Mirra's okay BMX game play, and the horn-dog mindset of a 13 year old boy that just found an issue of Hustler in the woods. It's incredibly embarrassing! Full of hookers, pimps, literal strip club videos, dogs fucking and humor that was shitty and mean spirited even by the standards of 2004. It's astounding that anybody thought this game would sell at all, let alone do the impressive numbers they wanted for it. Even the console manufacturers didn't really seem to want this thing on their consoles, Sony out and out censored the nudity even (which yes, the game featured full polygonal breasts, and they are horrifying to look at today), and though the other two allowed the nudity to slide, they made it pretty clear they thought the game was terrible.
BMX XXX is a punchline today, rightfully, but I think it did so much harm to the idea of a competing extreme sports franchise, that any further attempt to really hone in on an Tony Hawk alike just sort of stopped right there. It actually came out pretty early on, in 2002, long before some of the other games I've mentioned on this list even, but the damage it did was impossible to ignore. Activision kept trying, we still got the occasional excellent SSX game, and we got Skate. Hell, we even got Ubisoft making a couple of tries, first with Shaun White doing a snowboarding and Skateboarding game, then with Steep. The concept wasn't killed entirely, a favorite of mine, Amped 3 for Xbox 360, even came out just a few years later, but it felt like the spirit was gone, and it never really came back. Thankfully, these days, we have more independent developers putting out their own vision of what an extreme sports game can be. I hope this new generation of developers can really get us back to the glory days of the extreme sports game, and even if they don't end up making it too far, at least they're going to try.
And things might get a little weird.

How to choose the proper roller skate wheels: A Simple Guide
Choosing the proper roller skate wheels is a crucial first step in a beginner's skating journey. Without them, you won't have the ability to move around freely and enjoy your new hobby. You need to know what type of wheel works best for different activities, such as speed skating and freestyle tricks. In this article we'll explore all that you need to know about finding the best roller skate wheel!
Consider the overall build of your skates.
Next, consider the overall build of your skates. If you have a boot with a higher arch or stiffer ankle support, you’ll need to look for wheels that are designed to handle this type of structure. In general, wheels designed for aggressive inline skating (or Aggressive Inline Wheels) tend to be more rigid than their recreational counterparts. This can help keep your feet and ankles aligned properly while skating on rough terrain or rolling through sharp turns at higher speeds.
Consider what types of skating you'll be doing.
If you plan to do a lot of skating, you may want to invest in a higher-end wheel. If you are planning on doing speed skating, it would be wise to invest in a higher-end wheel as well. They will last longer and be more durable. If you're just starting out, however, it's best to get a less expensive wheel until you know what kind of skating you want to do. If you are planning on doing speed skating, it would be wise to invest in a higher-end wheel as well. They will last longer and be more durable. If you're just starting out, however, it's best to get a less expensive wheel until you know what kind of skating you want to do.
Consider the hardness of the skate wheels.
One of the most important considerations is the hardness of your roller skate wheels. Wheels come in different durometers, which is a measure of how hard they are. The higher the number, the harder and faster the wheel will be. On the other hand, lower numbers indicate that it’s softer (and slower). Expert skaters tend to prefer harder wheels because they can retain speed better than soft ones over long distances. However, beginners may find that softer wheels give them more grip on slippery surfaces like wooden floors or wet roads. While experts want their skates as fast as possible while maintaining control over them at all times, beginners need something that will help them learn how to maneuver their skates without falling off every few seconds!
Consider the width of your wheels, as well as their cores.
The width of your wheels is important for stability and comfort. The wider the wheel, the more stable it will be. This means that if you have wider wheels, they will be easier to balance on while skating. If you have narrower wheels, however, they might not be as stable or sturdy when compared to wider ones. However, keep in mind that some people may find that narrow wheels allow them to skate faster than normal because there is less surface area pushing against the floor every time they turn their feet or push off with their toes. The core of a roller skate wheel can affect how much weight it can support before breaking down under duress from excessive strain caused by heavy skaters who weigh over 250 pounds total when wearing inline skates (i.e., those who wear both skates and boots at once). This is particularly important for users who weigh over 200 pounds themselves since these types of users will feel uncomfortable wearing many different styles depending upon how heavy they are relative
Consider the size of your wheels.
Size is a crucial factor in choosing your roller skates. The size of a wheel is measured in millimeters, and this measurement includes the core of the wheel as well as its bearing and axle. A good rule of thumb for selecting a size to fit your skates is to use the same diameter wheels on each skate. For example, if one foot requires size 66mm x 54mm wheels and another requires 71mm x 59mm wheels, it's not recommended that you combine both pairs into one skate because they won't fit together properly.
Consider the color and style you want for durable wheels with good performance.
One of the most important factors to consider when choosing skate wheels is color and style. The appearance of your skates can be a matter of personal preference, so you should find a style that appeals to you. You might also want to consider the colors that match your outfit or look best with your hair color. Another reason why people choose specific colors is because they express their personality through fashion choices. Whatever you decide, make sure it's something that makes sense for both yourself and the type of skating you'll be doing.
Roller skate wheels are a very personal choice, so there's no one-size-fits-all solution to your decisions about them.
Roller skate wheels are a very personal choice, so there's no one-size-fits-all solution to your decisions about them. In this article, we'll look at some of the basic factors you should consider when choosing what kind of roller blades Australia wheels are right for you, including: - The type of skating you will be doing most often - The hardness of the skate wheels (how stiff they are) - The width and core size of your new set of skates
Conclusion
I hope we've given you an idea of how to choose the types of roller skate wheels that are best for your needs. There are many factors that go into this decision, and it can be a difficult one. But if you take your time and consider all of the options, then there's no reason why you shouldn't find some great-looking skates at an affordable price! Read the full article

Buying a Golf Club Case For Travel
You should buy a case for your golf clubs if you travel, especially if you intend to take them with you on a vacation. However, there are a few important considerations that you need to keep in mind when shopping for a practice case. First of all, make sure that the case has sufficient padding and protection to prevent damage. Another important feature is whether it can lock. This feature is only necessary if you are planning to travel with your golf clubs, because TSA has restrictions when it comes to locking travel cases. You can find more information about ゴルフクラブケース練習用
Another important feature of a golf bag is its ability to accommodate cart and stand bags. It features internal compression straps, an ID window, and three outside pockets. It is lightweight and fits easily in most golf bags. However, there isn't much reinforcement around the clubs, so you need to be sure to bring some extra towels or extra balls to protect them. When shopping for a golf bag, it is important to check its weight. Make sure that it doesn't weigh more than nine pounds.
The Perfect Match valence bending system is a feature that makes traveling through TSA faster and easier. This system also makes it easier to lock your golf bag, which keeps your clubs safe even if you're going through a security checkpoint. A great golf bag will protect your clubs while traveling, so be sure to buy one that's not too bulky. The SKB Deluxe ATA golf bag has an attractive exterior, but it lacks internal pockets to store additional accessories. It is also one of the most expensive golf bags available.
The SKB Deluxe Standard ATA Travel Case weighs about 18 pounds before golf clubs. Therefore, make sure to add that to your weight limit when flying. Most airlines only allow forty to fifty pounds for golf bags. And remember that your case is only as good as your golf clubs. And remember that if you travel for a long distance, you should buy a golf bag with sufficient space and ventilation. You will be glad you did!
When shopping for a golf bag, the Founders Club travel case is a top choice among many golfers. It is made from high-quality material and has lots of padding. It also has dual inline skate wheels and heavy padded handles. Moreover, it is easily portable, and has two padded handles. Nevertheless, it is a little more expensive than the other options. It is worth the money though!
While buying a golf bag, be sure to check its size and weight. You may want to buy a case that fits your club bag. A smaller case won't fit a cart bag. The best practice golf bag is one that fits your golf clubs, and will protect them while you play. So, buy a hard case if you plan to travel a lot. If you're traveling for business or pleasure, the hard case may not be the right choice for you.

Meanwhile, some quality time among the Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera among the World-Renowned and Far-Famed Ten Thousand Lakes of Minnesota
Sunrise unlike any other.
A few stretching exercises for Huckleberry Hound and his Clementine coming out of the pup tent they chose to sleep in ... and before going for the breakfast (never mind such likely being of dehydrated derivation), just a few minutes’ refreshing swim in the chill of the early-morning lake is in order. And chill though the waters are, it couldn’t have been a more interesting swim, including a brief swing underwater ... and some rather wonderful handfasting.
Once back on shore--
“Huck--?”
“Yes, Clementine?”
“I admit it may have been a little chilly this time of the morning ...”
“But--”
“But it sure felt deserving enough to have some coffee out of the way!”
“And who wouldn’t resist some coffee after such a dive?”
*************
At your typical old-school resort’s tap room, a somewhat rainy evening seems to have put a damper on the likelihood of a sunset campfire ... but with the blessing of the resort’s management, none other than Captain Caveman decides to regale the guests with a few observations from his own unique standpoint about freediving. Even if his language seems to be a little broken (”Unga-bunga ... Cavey can’t help but feel wonderfully at peace underwater! Cavey’s hairy body keep things confortable!”), such doesn’t seem to stop some of the fellow Funtastics from relating their own diving tales such as--
That time The King and Skids used some rather crude diver’s helmets to find what remained of a Mexican restaurant as submerged when a reservoir came along--and a “treasure” of canned Hatch chili peppers which took some time to dry out and get over. As well as The King and Sheena finding some diving experiences themselves just the other day on the same lake, getting a little playful underwater in the bargain.
Wally Gator once stunning a manatee while diving in some springs somewhere in Central Florida, yet the manatee didn’t manage to show any attempt at reprisal.
In a sleazy-looking motel swimming pool somewhere near Gatlinburg, the Bungle Brothers (George and Joey), otherwise just killing time in the pool late at night, found two of those metal RFID-blocker wallets which guests “must have foolishly let slip into the pool while swimming,” were turned into the office--and whose manager let slip the fact that the guests had somehow sneaked out in the middle of the night days before, and that it “might be rather lucky” if they could locate their rightful owners (who, as the police later explained to them, were Notorious Drug Dealers).
As a subsidiary activity of a fishing trip to the Northwest Angle region of Lake of the Woods, Breezly Bruin (and his new girlfriend, Betty) decided to take up some diving time ... “and what a hug we two had at about 20 feet under the surface!”
“Shaggy” Rogers, perhaps the one closest to the quirks of Scooby-Doo, related a rather crazy episode of when Scooby’s crew were snorkelling off the Florida Keys when Scooby somehow caught his paw on some rather sharp coral trying to feel what same felt like ... but as Shaggy was snorkelling close by, he applied a cloth to the affected paw, and Scooby managed to heal “somewhat gradually.”
And probably a few more like that, well until closing time ensued.
And though there was no offer of a prize indicated for the best such ... Peter Potamus, in closing out the display of diving stories, explained that “nowhere else have I heard such crazier or more lovable diving stories” than exchanged in the snug of the tap room on such a rainy evening! (He should know: Peter Potamus happens to be quite a diver himself.)
*************
Speaking of Peter Potamus and his crew of divers, we found them one muggy afternoon on a pontoon close to the deepest spot on the lake (including their underwater photographer, Squiddly Diddly) with some Unlikely Diving Guests in form of the Cattanooga Cats, who, as its leader, Country, explained, “we thought amusing to take up, not so much out of ‘bucket list’ desires than just to try something new.”
Even its female lead, Kitty Jo, and her pet hound, Teeny Tim, “got into the act” to the surprise of the scuba party-loving hippo (”Who said Southern gals couldn’t dive anywhere but Florida way has certainly got to be wrong, explaining my willingness to go along with ‘the boys’ and take up the SCUBA bit”--Kitty Jo) ... which certainly surprised the lupine members of the dive party (as in Loopy De Loop, Hokey Wolf and Mildew Wolf, Hokey adding later “Just be grateful those Cattanooga Cats weren’t wasting their time finding catfish underwater!”--and prompting Scoots, the pint-sized virtuoso of as much insturments as storytelling, to remark “That wasn’t exactly our intent ... we just thought taking up diving might be an occasional experience in killing time!”, with Scoots adding some detail about how he found diving when a certain Amy Catline came into his life).
As if that weren’t enow, said Cattanooga Cats were named Honorary Divers with Peter Potamus’ All-Natural Diving Company, with the open invitation to join them again when they crossed paths. Which had Lippy the Lion remarking “I certainly hope our diving club isn’t going to the cats all of a sudden!”, bringing quite the laugh over some Sprecher Cream Soda.
*************
Talk about father-son bonding: Augie Doggie challenged his ever-so-doting Doggie Daddy to a race of sorts--Augie swimming underwater, Doggie Daddy on a paddleboard--from mid-lake to the resort’s beach, loser to pay for a Friday-evening fish fry at a tavern just up the road. (Still, just to be safe, Augie’s swimming was just beneath the surface and Doggie Daddy kept his distance on the paddleboard.)
At any rate, Augie’s sheer precocia and overactive nature won the race by at least two lengths on his father’s paddleboard, prompting Doggie Daddy to ask “Augie, Son of Sons!! How exactly was it possible for you to swim underwater as fast as you did?!!”
To which the Son of Sons responded, “Dearest Father ... I’ve been taking up some lessons in underwater swimming technique from one Breezly Bruin.”
“BREEZLY BRUIN--?!! Son of Sons, don’t tell me--”
“Yes, Father of Fathers ... THAT Breezly Bruin. He may be a little dumb, but you can get to liking him if only you made the effort.”
“Heh, heh, heh ... that was my son talking there!”
(At any rate, Doggie Daddy covered the fish fry, of which Augie managed to go through no less than four refills just to recover from such energy expenditure.)
*************
It’s not unusual for the back roads in the resort country of northern Minnesota to see their share of traffic heading to the resorts ... including an inline-skating run of the Skatebirds (Knock-Knock, Satchel and Scooter) one Saturday morning of some five miles to some chintzy-looking supper club of “the old school” essentially, such as was likely to be found in the resort country, hidden behind some pines from the highway.
And what was that all about?
For a weekend brunch buffet which certainly saw the likes of plenty others as a “surprise” party, including the ilk of Huckleberry Hound, Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole, Snagglepuss, the Hair Bear Bunch, Undercover Elephant and Loudmouse, Penelope Pitstop ... and, for good measure, The Banana Splits, who, by their admission, “were just passing through” on their way to an engagement Somewhere Near Duluth.
*************
Amongst some Adirondack chairs set in the shallows of the lake as sunset most vivid and beautiful reflected itself unto the lake, and over some Sprecher Puma Kola (well-chilled, mind you), Snagglepuss and Hair Bear were engrossing themselves in conversation while taking in the sunset and admiring just how spectacular it was.
“I just have to tell you, Snagglepuss,” Hair Bear exclaimed, “if Square Bear can pull off an Invisible Motorcycle, he can also pull off an Invisible Jet Ski!”
“Which,” Snagglepuss chimed in, “is rather rich, rather one for Ripley, even ... and yet, my ursine chum, how can it be possible?”
“I don’t know how he does it, Snagglepuss ... but he can pull it off faster than you can sing ‘The Minnesota Rowser’!” (Pause) “Yet, I admit there are times when Square Bear can get a little ahead of himself on that Invisible Jet Ski!”
“How so, Hair Bear?”
“So ahead of himself that he takes on that look suggesting a long-haul truck driver on amphetamines, supposedly heedless of any danger or risk inherent!”
“I just hope you’re not on amphetamines yourself ...”
“No, Snagglepuss ... we prefer getting our highs from what the French call the old joie de vivre, the joy of life!” (Pause) “Not to mention rather substantial appetites!”
“So I’ve heard,” as Snagglepuss let the last swig of Puma Kola trickle down his throat to appreciate such nuances of decaffeinated flavour in the face of a rather warm evening emergent. “Personally, I’d like to thank the folks who make that cola myself, maybe buy me a case or two even!”
To which Hair Bear chimed in with his own tasteful swig, “Hey, who wouldn’t? After all, the sun is setting rather beautifully ... the evening is barely young ... and what more could you ask for, aside from the thrill of discovering some misadventures from shortwave radio in the summertime?”
