Ian Rawes, founder of the London Sound Survey, will be presenting a talk titled How To Find Interesting Sounds on Sunday 9 July, 4:30PM at IKLECTIK.

In this talk, Rawes will describe the problems and possibilities which modernity presents to the urban field recordist in the search for interesting sounds. The talk will touch upon some of the technical aspects of field recording, but more emphasis will be given to how wider networks of meaning can arise from archival research, the ways recordings are organised and presented, and the relationship between the recordist and their subject.
