WIP Wednesday Thursday

I think it’s still Wednesday in some places, so my being late is totally fine 😂 Thank you for the tag @undercoverpena 🩷

Here are extracts from a couple of my current wips:

Call It What You Want - Frankie Morales x OFC

“You remember Frankie, right?” Benny asks casually. “Tom woulda called him Catfish?”

“Uh, sure.” I don’t but I won’t admit to that. I remember the name vaguely, but that’s all.

Even if it hadn’t been four years ago since I last saw him, all I can remember of Tom’s funeral is a procession of strangers and the constant vibration of my work phone as I stood in the graveyard. That whole day was a stark reminder of the distance between us, that my own blood was a ghost to me even when he was alive. It bought me Molly, Tess and Will though.

Frankie walks in. He’s a little older than Benny but younger than Tom was. He’s all dark eyes and curls peeking out through a battered baseball cap; softly tanned skin and that smile … that smile is something. If he could bottle that up and sell it, I’m pretty sure he’d find a captive market.

everywhere, everything - Joel Miller x reader (bouncer au!)

His hands, hands you’ve seen both acts of violence and also hold your injured face so gently, skim your body. Joel’s hands, like him, are contradictions. He steps minutely closer, a little more into your space and oh so welcome.

He smells like soap and coffee, with the faint hints of autumn you noticed around the cabin and there’s something magic in this Joel Miller. Something in every sense of him, the way he touches you, the sound of his voice, the feel of his skin and sound of his voice that instantly draws you closer, that makes heat pool in your stomach.

He kisses you and you reach for his hands, entwine them together as he guides you further into the cabin, towards his bedroom.

You’re a mess of hands and lips, a clash of sensations and finally, finally this is happening.

WIP GAME

The rules: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how ridiculous or non-descriptive. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, then post a little snippet or tell them something about it.

thank you to the lovely @mvtthewmurdvck for the tag, i love your writing and it’s been brilliant chatting to you and getting to know you more recently. Like you I’ve shamelessly also made it a new post so I can use it as a reference to remind me of what I’m doing and try and stay on track and included some brief little summaries. Some of these are extremely early ideas or WIPs

My Current WIPs

secret smile - [javi p x f!reader] slow burn fic for s3 and beyond. javi returns to Colombia and is asked by his childhood best friend to keep an eye out for his sister who has also been stationed in the same embassy. The only thing is, she’s been assigned to keep an eye on him. I have the first two chapters drafted and am on number 3 now.

call it what you want chapter (you drew stars around my scars) - [frankie morales x f!reader] frankie and tom davis’ estranged sister become roommates a year after TF. In the next chapter, the two of them getting together hits a hurdle after a surprise visitor or two at the reader’s workplace.

you’ve got the love [dieter bravo x f!reader] - loose follow up one shot to for you, i would ruin myself. You’ve weathered the scandal together with dieter and kept out of the public eye, but now it’s time to start the publicity machine for the movie where you both got together.

hey brother (fuel to fire series) - [joel miller x f!reader] you make it to Jackson and find both of your brothers, but the reunions don’t quite go as expected

peace - [frankie morales x f!reader] you were losing him before the mission, now you’re scared he’s never coming back. Or how you all put the pieces together after TF

the bodyguard one- [frankie morales x f!reader].- bodyguard trope if you couldn’t tell by the oh so creative file name.

yesterday’s gone - [joel miller x f!reader] - Jackson era! A patrol leads to unexpected discoveries; a working copy of fleetwood mac’s rumours and you getting on with joel miller. (This was almost my first fic instead of into the fire)

JMNO Long Fic Draft One - [joel miller x ofc] - no outbreak au! The file name for this is truly spectacular, it might beat out ‘the bodyguard one’ for best file name.

Current State of WIPs

Secret Smile - chapter 5 will be published on Wednesday. We’re now at a point where I’m writing live so I’ll try and keep updates a minimum of fortnightly if I can. The whole fic is looking like it will end up with 15 chapters in total

Call it what you want - on official hiatus. I am currently minded to scrap and then completely rewrite this fic as I’m not happy with several elements on it. The concept will remain the same (roommates to lovers, tom’s sister, post TF) but I’m currently pondering on how to best tell the story I originally wanted to

Fuel to Fire - open to suggestions of scenarios you’d like to see (feel free to send some asks - my guidance is on my navigation post at the top), otherwise only writing when I have inspiration for it.

Untitled WIP (Joel Miller) - in early planning stages, Jackson era Joel. Might be a OFC, currently playing with ideas for it and figuring out how long it could be, mostly whether it should be a long one shot, miniseries or a longer fic. Definitely potential for angst with this one and some heavier topics in the background.

Other Ideas - there a couple of drabbles (Javi P and Frankie) starting to percolate and are slightly more relaxed, romcom vibes.

Is the next chapter nearly done? Yes

Is there a huge cliffhanger? Maybe?
