So I've been thinking about religions and I came to the conclusion that I want my god to be Prometheus. Not that I believe the Greek mythology to be true (or untrue, how would I know), but if there was a god, my creator, I would want them to be like Prometheus.

Otherwise it would make me just sad, you know. All those religions that tell you that the god is almighty. It sucks. If an almighty entity created this shitty world to trap us in, we're fucked. What can we do about it? Nothing.

But if our creator is just a dude trying (and often failing) to do something nice for us, it gives a little more hope. I can at least hope that the god is good if I reject that they're almighty. Maybe my Prometheus will succeed at making me happy one day. But even if they don't, at least they'll keep trying. And believing in it seems nice.

I think, perhaps one of the funniest things to come from EPIC popularising the Odyssey is that now a ton of people think Poseidon wanted to kill Odysseus.

In the Odyssey, Poseidon has no intention of killing Odysseus. In fact, part of the whole reason Zeus lets Poseidon do whatever he wants even though he thinks Odysseus is rad and should get to kiss his wife is explicitly because Poseidon had no intentions of killing Odysseus. Poseidon wanted to pay back the suffering/inconvenience blinding Polyphemus would have caused. It's a really abstract thing tbh. How do you pay back someone permanently disabling your son? Poseidon's solution was just to amputate Odysseus from his other half; i.e. Penelope. The end game was never murder, it was always an endurance race.

Also, for those wondering if there's any sort of in text reason for why Poseidon wasn't around in God Games - at the time in the Odyssey when Athena petitions Zeus to let Odysseus leave Calypso's island, Poseidon was -checks notes- on vacation in Ethiopia. Yep. He left to Ethiopia for a festival and thusly was very much absent for Athena's whole "please let Ody go? Please? 🥺" request.

HELLO HI HELLO I AM!!! RECOVERING CURRENTLY!!!!

So I haven't posted in a small moment and planned to get myself going again soon but right now I am recovering from an accident (I won't get into the nitty gritty) that has left me quite shaken. FIRST OFF I AM OKAY! Minor injuries so nothing alarming I am physically fine besides being sore for a bit and some scrapes and bruises that are still healing, including my arms which is making drawing a bit difficult. I'm slowly getting better but cant really draw for long periods and honestly I might not draw much for a bit till I feel better both physically and mentally. its the mentally part that might take some time. But I'm resting, rest assured!

ANYWAY this is more just an update cause I know i've been a lil absent. ESPECIALLY after this accident. I'm not abandoning the blog by any means, def still check on tumblr but couldn't seem to muster the energy to interact with much at the moment as my brain is a little rattled up.

I hope yall are all okay! I hope your days are bright and yall are taking care of yourselves!

Fascinating how Polites, the character who is the personification of Odysseus' optimism and is only in 5 songs, is more grieved and appreciated than Eurylochus, a character who is his own person and is in 11 songs.

Here's my guess for dungeon groups:

Time, Twilight and Wind (because Time is NOT going to let Twi out of his sight, also if you look at the second-last panel in the update, it seems like he's looking at them specifically)

Warriors, Hyrule, and Legend (I think it makes sense for them to be together, even if Legend drives Warriors nuts. I could see him being like "here pretty boy I'll teach you all you need to know about dungeons" and go from there. Hyrule is there because I bet he'd want to go with Legend, and he also seems to look up to Warriors)

That leaves Four, Sky, and Wild, which I didn't think about much, but would certainly be an interesting group. Four and Wild working together would be nice, especially with Wild's new sword, and I wonder if Four would maybe end up using the Master Sword... maybe. It's just a guess.

An overblotted Malleus trying to scare 🌸 into submission. He pins them against the wall and grips their waist so tightly it marks angry red streaks. Chara Week Day 5: Ghost

Every time I see that machine in the True Lab, I wonder if it could possibly be Chara's soul in there? Probably unlikely, but not impossible... It's interesting to think about what the implications of that would be.
