On a Tiktok of Avengers Loki impersonating Steve Rogers with Tony Stark right there, a commenter was like “Tony loves taking the piss out of Steve, if Loki wasn’t evil here I think they’d be besties” and someone else replied something along the lines of “defs somewhere else in the multiverse” and it made me giggle and got me thinking

One of my What-If related Marvel headcanons is that 1602 IS that somewhere, or at least, one of them. Loki is an eccentric theatre nerd who is out here with early access to the upcoming plays of “Will”, implying this little drama queen knows Shakespeare personally. Tony is an eccentric inventor who likes big made-up words. Shakespeare was also famous for making up words. Tony also says to Steve that he personally would’ve used a sonnet on Peggy. Shakespeare also wrote a bunch of sonnets. Loki likes to pop bottles while talking non-stop about theatre. Tony spent all night inventing on a bender, sooo they’re both a tad indulgent. I think the two of them are the only two not actually sparring with someone during the fighting that breaks out in the throne room (although Tony is trying to get his invention up and running - he’d probably fight if he could)

During my rewatch of this goofy little ep I absolutely LOST it spying a suspiciously Mjolnir shaped hammer/mallet in the back of Tony’s workshop, too. If actually Mjolnir, in this universe it belongs to Loki - who had coincidentally misplaced it when Thor ask him where it’s at. What’s Tony doing with Loki’s hammer, hm? How’d that get there? Theft? Forgetfulness? Or maybe a little prezzie?

You CANNOT convince me they don’t hang out, maybe secretly, passing goblets of palace sourced wine between them, Loki reciting his lines while Tony tinkers away, occasionally pausing to say something like “Where’s the blood, sweat and tears? Give me more, your highness. Also, can you put aside Yorick and hold these tongs for a mo’? Great!”

I def hc MK in both canon and au being a big mythology nerd in general, not just for SWK.

He'd be the kid running around the library with a bunch of mythology books too mature for him to check out without an adult (Tang said no cus they'd both get in trouble with Pigsy). Has different phases of interest throughout his childhood - the parents probably can gauge how old MK is in some photos based on what mythology he was currently obsessed with.

SWK, pointing to a photo in an album: "Was MK seven or eight in this one?" Tang: "Just turned seven. See the little wooden sword on his belt?" Mac: "Ah. The King Arthur phase. He had a cake shaped like a rock that year." Pigsy: "Easiest to design really. He just wanted a fake sword coming out the top." Sandy: "Also the year he figured out how to turn himself into a squirrel cus of the disney movie." SWK: "He cried so much for that girl squirrel." MK, overhearing and getting emotional: "She didn't understand! She was in love but couldn't understand why Wart couldn't be with her! It was heartbreaking!"

I'm projecting because I was that kid who knew all the greek gods names, and by proxy all the planets and their moons.

MK would make obscure mythology jokes that no one gets except Mac (theatre and mythology nerd intertwine often), and a certain demon.

MK, very tired after eating a bunch of mooncakes: "Feeling like I ate the wrong kinda lotus rn." Everyone else in the room: ??? Red Son, suddenly starts laughing: "Oh because of the lotus-eaters! Sorry, it took me a moment. Very clever noodle-boy." MK: ( ♥ ͜ʖ ♥)

But yeah MK is 100% still a Monkey King nerd, but he also nerds about other mythological heroes. Has all the OSP mythos videos saved into his memory. Frequently blames his magic/divine problems on completely unrelated gods aka "Damn you Zeus!"

Backreading your reporting and Hiddleston does, in fact, seem like exactly the type of person who would politely and demurely take David Tennant ragging on his MCU participation.

I unfortunately have spent time being not normal about that man. His unhinged sparkle dulled considerably (at least publicly) after the Taylor Swift thing. My dearest wish is that now that he has a literature/theatre nerd partner and a role in a Mike Flanagan project, he can plan his MCU exit strategy and dedicate himself to being an unwell-about-acting girlie for something outside Loki (his dream role is Much Ado's Benedick!). To follow up with a more positive post from my ‘top 5 dumbest criticisms debunked’ here’s a list of adorable and well-thought-out details from Thor: Love and Thunder, which, while not that difficult to spot, I appreciated even more the second time round.

- The costume department made Tessa Thompson at least four different perfectly tailored suits for approximately eight seconds of footage. Was it a waste of fabric? Absolutely not.

- Jane isn’t just a sci-fi nerd for reeling off films that explain wormholes well, her Halloween costume in the montage is Ash from Alien, post chest-burster scene.

- Thor has Nick Fury’s contact saved to his phone as ‘Nick Furry’ which will never not be funny to me.

- Was giving Dwayne a mustache when Kronans have absolutely no capacity to grow facial-hair an absolutely ridiculous decision that some poor vfx artist should have been sacked over? Absolutely. But it was also a really nice callback to Taika’s childhood Freddie Mercury obsession, so jot that down.

- That poor guy who got hit in the face when a certain cape was flung for dramatic emphasis has my sympathies.

- The little broken heart next to Thor’s ‘RIP Loki’ tattoo was hilarious and tragic at the same time.

- It was definitely ‘bring your daughter to work day’ on set, I’ve already seen plenty of people remarking on the adorableness of Chris Hemsworth’s kidlet, but both of Taika’s daughters were among the stolen Asgardian kids and were apparently really mean to Christian Bale.

- Despite having all the trappings of a family-friendly film you get multiple ‘oh shit’ lines, though it feels entirely appropriate to the tone of the scenes, there are also at least two references to a mass orgy held on a regular basis in Omnipotent City.

- All of the snacks in the vending machine Thor breaks are region-appropriate, which pleased me as someone who grew up only getting to eat that stuff in Finland or on family trips to IKEA and ngl, if I was having to pay like 2-3 euros for a pack of Marabou or some salmiakki, and I had super-strength, I’d probably just smash the thing too.   

- Glad to see independent theatre is still thriving in New Asgard, but the irony of Valkyrie being very done with the two actors while wearing a Phantom of the Opera t-shirt was not lost on me. Her being a closet theatre-kid seems pretty on-brand. 

- Sif still being a badass sword-fighter with only one arm (why is that such a common injury in the MCU?)

- Idk why, but the scene on the boat where the straight half of the crew are outside doing straight things while Korg and Valkyrie are propping up the bar, drinking and discussing being gay felt... weirdly relatable. If that isn’t how you and your friends end up at the tail-end of a house-party don’t @ me.

- It seemed a really odd choice at first to have a film with three semi-sentient weapons that have their own personalities and a fourth that’s just kind of there, but in hindsight it’s also hilarious. Stormbreaker’s got beef with Thor and Mjolnir and the Necrosword parallel each other beautifully (both are slowly killing the person that wields them, but the motives are polar opposites) so I kept waiting for the thunderbolt to have some whole hidden agenda of its own, but no, it was the only cool-looking god-level weapon that was... just a weapon.

I’ll probably think of more to add, because I love this film so damn much, but feel free to chip in if there’s any obvious ones I’ve forgotten.

Her mother, Livia, is an actress, who also tutors music in her spare time.

She loves all of her paternal siblings but Will and Kayla are her favourites.

Sunny is the only known demigod to be able to use Photokinesis. This is due to her rather…unique heritage of her father being Apollo and her maternal great grandfather being Helios. Who are both capable of using that ability.

Sunny’s a huge musical theatre nerd.

Hates poetry. Like she despises it…which is ironic given who her dad is and the fact she can curse people to speak only in rhyming couplets.

Fantastic archer, not brilliant at healing.

She has a crush on a certain ‘bad boy supreme’, whom she’ll often be found hanging out with at camp, she’s currently unsure whether it’s reciprocated (it totally is).

Looks like a cinnamon roll and is an actual ray of sunshine but sill will absolutely kick your butt into tartarus if necessary.

could i have a marvel ship?

i’m very shy and emotional, im also very jealous (scorpio moon things <3) but i never act on my jealousy in a toxic way, i just sorta get sad abt it :( but i’m very nurturing and i try to be as kind as possible. i’m also not very confrontational and i’m a people pleaser. i get annoyed very easily too which isn’t great.

i love english literature, theatre and history! i especially love learning about queens and fashion history. my favourite play is Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare and my favourite book is The Dead Poets Society. Although i love Little Women (i love Amy so much!) and i’m taking English Literature, History and Government and Politcs for A-levels :)

my aesthetic is very coquette, think pretty lace, henleys, skirts and pearls. i also love dior, their lipglosses are so cute!! cardigans too, theyre very comfy and sweet looking. green is my absolute favourite colour but its so hard to fit it into my aesthetic so i just buy a lot of plants :)
