I think the drama at Williams isn't over. Alex has made it abundantly clear he is NOT happy with what happened to Logan. He mentioned several times publicly how rough he thought it was and his body language during the talk to the team when Franco and Vowles were talking about Logan so clearly said he wasn't buying any of their bullshit.

I suspect he's probably also not enjoying the way Vowles has been talking about Sainz and considering that maybe his own position isn't as secure as he hoped.//

It's entirely probable that Logan is one of those "yeah idgaf about politics" kind of white guys which yeah isn't great. But he also posted a thing on his instagram supporting local independent media, and someone did a great tumblr post about why that was actually a pretty big and pretty cool political statement in the context of Florida. So maybe he's just a guy who keeps it to himself because he's surrounded by people he loves who have problematic views.

Which, by the way, is an extremely complicated and difficult thing to deal with. My dad is turning into our equivalent of a trumpie and I hate it, but he's still my dad and I still love him. Yeah right now sport's the only thing we really talk about and even that's a landmine but he's also the same dad who would sit and read to me with all kinds of voices before bed, ya know?

Condemning people as bad because of who their family is is extremely problematic and I really don't get how you (anon) don't get that. "One Sargeant is a Trumpie = all Sargeants are Trumpies" starts to stray very close to other lines people really shouldn't want to cross.

I don't think it's sad that Corinna stood up for her son. Remember, Vowles was at Mercedes when Michael was, too. Vowles has even spoken about how much he liked and respected Michael and fun times they had together. To Corinna those words about Mick probably felt like a stab in the back.

What's really sad is that nobody has done the same for Logan, when Vowles' comments about Logan were much nastier. Alex and Oscar are the only ones who stood up for Logan and its not like either of them can rip Vowles a new one without repercussions.

I genuinely feel bad about Logan. While I understand that things were not going well for him I genuinely feel like at least they should have let him finish the year instead of dropping him now. To do that to any driver ia really brutal.

rumors of logan being dropped before the season ends have started up again. potential replacements atm are mick schumacher or liam lawson. liam being more tentative of the two because they'd have to work things out with red bull, but it would give him an ample refresher in an f1 car before they finally put him in the vcarb seat. idk how good mick would be per say, but they think he would at least cause less damage at this point.

i feel bad for him, but tbh at this point i really cannot say anything if they do end up replacing him. it's a cutthroat sport, and they're a team limited on funds to begin with. fans keep defending him, and while criticism of how vowles talks to the media is 100% valid, there's only so many times you can fail to deliver before you're let go. that's how it works in all sorts of jobs, and at the end of the day, being an f1 driver is a job too. you have to meet your team's expectations, or you're out.

it's mean to say, but i was expecting him to be dropped after the break. a solid halfway point, they can say they gave him half the season to prove himself, and now it's time for them to make the decision. especially since their updates do seem to have worked- alex was able to make it to q3 before he got disqualified, so clearly something is working on the development end. so that paired with the crash just kind of sealed the deal. but we'll see if they actually drop him or if they feel like they can just wait out the rest of the season.

There are also reports from that test that Jack was actually really quick - of course, people reporting otherwise have their own agenda, and boy oh boy, doesn't Colapinto have a lot of people ready to push agendas for him. The bio change was so massively disrespectful but shows so clearly the double standard. Can you imagine if Logan had done that? Or Jack? The screaming would be deafening, the accusations of being arrogant, of being too cocky. But when Colapinto does it, tee hee, isn't he funny? Logan didn't get two years, he got 18 months, and got booted from the Williams right as the new upgrades arrived, meaning he didn't get to drive the car that Colapinto got.

As for Jack being the son of Mick Doohan - yes, he is, what is he supposed to do about that? But Mick doesn't have the money to make Jack a paydriver, he's no Lawrence Stroll. Jack is fast, and talented, and earned that seat.

This anon is spitting straight facts here on everything said, because let’s be honest here: Franco is a paid driver through and through, and we all have known that since he has taken over for Logan, whether his fans want to admit to that or not. Also, you know it’s very funny now that he’s not with Williams anymore: his sponsors have suddenly disappeared from their updated sponsorship list, so I wouldn’t be surprised or shocked if we suddenly see a couple of Argentine companies pop up as Alpines sponsors soon, and if and when that does eventually happen, I think we all know what’s going to happen with Jack, because they interfered and pulled strings for Logan to lose his seat; so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the same to Jack because money talks loudly.

Another thing as pointed out from the linked post above if Logan, jack or any other driver pulled what Franco pulled with his bio, they would be under massive scrutiny, and most likely would have, had to put out an apology statement for a lapse in judgement or over sight, but since it was Franco, no he get a total free pass just because of his massive fan base.

If everyone in the united states was categorized by their family, friends or girlfriends or boyfriends political views then we would have so major problems here because the truth is you can be around people that share different political views then you as for example, personally I don’t share the same political views as my family or some of my friends and I would hate to have accusations of having certain political views when I don’t just because I’m around people who do have those view points.

So saying Logan shares the same political views as his family or girlfriend without solid proof is unfair to him because for all we know that information is untrue and he could have a totally different view and opinion then they do.

On a more serious note, I do find it interesting that one of Vowles' scrambling excuses for sacking Logan after Zandvoort was that they knew Logan was gone at the end of the year and he didn't want the relationship to sour. I always thought that was a shitty thing to say considering Logan has been nothing but professional the entire year, even when he had his own fucking car taken from him. But then to have both the Indycar and ELMS people pay particular attention to Logan's professionalism, work ethic, and character - and mentioning those traits specifically along with his speed - feels very pointed. I wish someone would point this out to Vowles, but all the people who talk to him are weasels who faff around with things like "we know you gave him every opportunity -" NO, he didn't, can you call him out please?
