one of my most long standing hyperspecific headcanons is that logan picked up smoking cigars because of ulysses s grant during the civil war.

after the capture of fort henry and for donelson in early 1862 grant was depicted with a cigar in his mouth in the papers. this image sparked him being sent a shit ton of cigars. many sources i've read state it's like 10,000. so due to the sheer amount of cigars received grant gave as many as he could away.

hence my headcanon that logan met and had a cigar with ulysses s grant sometime in 1862.
