Locked in Lockefell - PC (Nour)
(if y’all got a notif before: no, you didn’t, I made no mistakes whatsoever.)
Y’all probably know the deal by now. More PCs. This one is for Locked in Lockefell @lockefell-library. The name’s Nour and I went for something a little different with this PC description and added some secrets (and added hints where to find them). The easter eggs aren’t mobile OR dashboard friendly though (gotta go to my actual blog.), so I’ve added a summary at the end.
The character art was done by the fantastic Eden @chercookue, please check them out if you can. Thank you once more for the lovely piece, Eden. <3
Picrew used for ref under the read more.
31̨͕̭̥ years old, 5’10/178cm.
Genderfluid, goes by he/they and she/they.
Associated plant/scent: Sandthorn.
Impression: Meticulous, mellow, gregarious, whimsical. Self-assured. Morbid, prideful, disingenuous, impish. Somewhat flighty. The kind of stranger you end up spilling your guts to at 3 in the morning at a random party and then never see again.
Personality: The above, but in addition: Extroverted as hell. Overall seems very relaxed but has a very incredibly dry delivery in regards to sarcasm. Takes great joy when people play along with their little jokes. Observant and somewhat cynical. Has a soft spots for kids.
Likes: Books (and makes a lot of bookmarks as a hobby), rainy days, arid climates. Traveling. Talking with people and getting to know them and their lives. Listening to street musicians. Mocha. Birds.
Dislikes: Enclosed and very tight spaces, powerlessness, lack of agè͆̕ncy. Busybodies, nosy folks. The inevitability of goodbyes.
Motifs connected to them: The Wheel of Fortune (Major Arcana), King of Pentacles (Minor Arcana).
Noteworthy physical aspects: Dimples! Several beauty marks, one near their mouth, one under their right eye and one above the left eyebrow. Snakebite piercings. Slightly pointed ears.
Notable possessions: A well worn and much loved notebook (never seems to run out of space), several leather bracelets, an antique gold t̬alisman, an old Nokia phone.
Other notes: Suffers from claustrop̳̲̻̩̃̇͊̾hobia. Currently unemployed but has a very colorful record, ranging from lifeguard to financial advisor to pastry chef. Very clingy sleeper and overall a very physically affectionate person. Once they like you, expect a lot of casual touches.
A perfectly normal human being.
Their dad was a traveling merchant who met a rather determined person who pursued̈́̏͊͘̕ him pretty aggressively. They ended up having ten kids together, of whom Nour is the third oldest. They ended up living a kind of secluded but pretty happ̡̗̪y life.
Nour ended up taking after their f̨͎ͅather in almost every aspect regarding their personality as well as his wanderlust though most of their looks they got from their mother. As soon as they were able to take care of themself, they left their home behind to venture out into the world. Their father had taught them the w͎̯̦ays of the world and how his business worked so they opened a branc̢͢h ‘store’, if you will. While Nour did that for quite a long time, they purs͇͉̯ued other passions along the way, which is how they ended up with their rather odd resume. They’ve also had a string of relationships along the road, none of which lasted.
At the moment, Nour is trying to redefine who they are and writing a book seems to be as good a place as any to start. And this certain library in a certain little town seems to hold a certain… Allure. It seems to be calling out to Nour. And the librarian is certainly charming.
…in case you didn’t manage to find all of the secrets or are on mobile, here’s a quick rundown.
Nour is part djinn, part shapeshifter. Their skillset aligns more closely with their father’s: They are able to grant up to three wishes of the person who holds their talisman. They’ve also inherited his longevity, and have been around for some thousand years. As long as the talisman they are bound to isn’t destroyed, they’re basically immortal.
Being a djinn comes with certain rules: You cannot disobey the holder of your talisman and be truthful towards them. You cannot extend a person’s natural lifespan. You cannot force someone to fall in love. You cannot kill the person in possession of your talisman.
This has led to some very unfortunate instances and being banished into their talisman for a hundred years is the reason for their claustrophobia. Nour learned quickly how to skirt the rules above (especially the ‘cannot kill the person in possession of your talisman’. Just gotta wait until they’re not in possession of their talisman anymore. And what faster way to accomplish that than manipulating some poor sod into stealing the talisman? No one is free of greed when faced with the prospect of attaining the unattainable.)
Regarding their mother, Nour inherited some of their shapeshifting prowess: While they cannot change much about their superficial physical appearance (the easiest being their height, which they can take some inches off of), they can change their sex if it suits them. That said, they usually don’t bother as it takes a LOT out of them.
Out for their siblings, five others are still alive and wandering their world. The unsent letters Nour carries with them are for their siblings, past loves or talisman holders.
While Nour seems flighty, it’s mostly that past experiences have made them incredibly wary of connecting with people and letting their guard down.
They can be very intense. It’s rare that they genuinely like someone but when they do? They will move heaven and earth if that person so much as asked. Yes, even break the rules Nour really should never, ever break… No one, absolutely no one, is free of greed when faced with the prospect of attaining the unattainable after all. Temptation rings true.
And here’s the Understand the Ship meme.
