i had to wake up early this morning for work (i am not a morning person) and i was just thinking about how serene the very late hours of the night/early hours of morning can be, especially when you're the only one who's awake and it's all quiet. even the birds are silent. everything is so still, like the whole world is holding its breath and for just that moment, it is only you and the beating of your heart. time stands still. then you realize you too are holding your breath, and when you exhale the spell breaks and time resumes.

of course i'm not describing anything new. but as my mornings usually consist of me scrambling out of bed last minute and throwing clothes on, this was a noteworthy experience for me.

ngl sometimes i feel so cringe for my interests. like ik undertale's fanbase has a reputation but thats not why i feel cringe its bc im so ANNOYING abt it. like. someone gives me a chance to talk abt mettaton and show my drawings and i get so excited i start screaming and kicking my feet in the air and end up talking nonstop for like 2 hrs. or someone gives me a chance to talk about terraria and i end up going into detail on each boss in chronological order and my strategies for fighting them, their attacks, what gear i use etc etc. or a lab partner asks me a question on the post lab worksheet and i start tripping over my words because i got a chance to talk about prokaryotes. and i try to explain how i took some inspiration from luffy's backstory for my dnd character and i end up getting into a bunch of one piece lore that Nobody Asked For. like why cant i just like things a normal amount why does it have to be cranked up to 11 all the time.

might just be the nostalgic mood i've been in lately but i miss old mobile terraria. not mobile terraria itself (PC is infinitely better even tho i run it on a shitbox) but like, pre-1.14 terraria and the weird charm it had. like all the stupid exclusive pets (i even had a chest full of them on my old tablet, before 1.14 was brought to mobile and they all turned to golden bunnies, and yes i'm still angry about that) and other weird items like the staff that summons an old lady minion. or how nights got longer once you entered hardmode. the heart caves that had a chance of spawning in the tundra and the joy of basically being handed 2 life crystals for free. i MISS that shit man. and i can't go back and play it bc even if i resuscitated my old tablet, like i said it auto updated to 1.14 so there's no going back, sigh.
