Introductions

Hello, while I struggle with art block, I thought I’d write a short introduction on how Artemis meets, your MC / OC 💜💜💜💜💜

You leave your shop, setting the magical locks. 

“Okay, now to go shopping.” You had closed up shop for the day because you were out of supplies for protection spells and other things.

“Okay, first stop, the local florist shop.” You breath out as you make your way towards the palace, as you approach get close to the gates you take a small turn down an ally, where you catch a whiff of rosemary and lavender.

*ring, ding!*

“Welcome!” A strong voice sounds from the back as a tall elegant woman appears from the back.

“How may help?” Her rose colored eyes stare into your (eye|color) as she smiles softly.

“Do you need anything specific? Are you in search of guidance?” She pauses before taking you hand in hers, gold painted nails trail along your hand.

“You are in no need of guidance, but I will tell you this.” She looks pointedly at you.

“Keep your door unlocked tonight, you will have an incredibly special guest arriving at your steps for guidance.” Her eyes widen for a second before she steps away from you, noticing that she has made you uncomfortable.

“I’m sorry, I must have frightened you, now what did you come here for?” She reaches over to the vase of blue, pink and purple roses, seemingly adjusting them.

“Oh! Yes! I need a dozen forget-me-nots, and a few camomile petals, and some rose petals and leaves.” You spurt out, flustered from the encounter.

“Ah, right away, lucky for you I have enough for you.” She says, disappearing into the back and once again appearing behind the counter with a burlap bag filled with the supplies needed.

“Great! Thanks, what do I owe you?” You question looking at the tall woman.

“You don’t need to pay me, just a name for a name.” She smiles once again, as she holds her tan hand out for you to shake. “Mine is Artemis, and it was a pleasure to meet you.” Her smile widens as you take her hand into yours.

“(your|name), and it was a pleasure to meet you as well. I hope we see more of each other in the future.” You smile at her as you leave the shop, a light feeling in your chest.

“Who was that?” Another tall woman emerges from the back.

“A customer, cousin.” Artemis turns to look at the woman, warmly looking into the woman's red eyes. “A very special customer, I believe you should go seek them out tonight, it could be the solution to your headaches, dear cousin.” Her black hair is swept to the side as she sets her forehead against her cousins’. 

“Very well, if you believe it will help me then I shall seek them out.” The beautiful woman heads towards the door, then smiling and gives Artemis a small wave.

“Goodnight, Artemis.”

“Goodnight dear Nadia.”

‘Lady Blue is agitated today’ (Lady Blue is his cobalt blue tarantula)

‘Give me the spiciest dish you have!’

‘Now this is what I call wine.’ (he loves wine and thus gets along well with Valerius)

‘Macie! Don’t bite passengers!’ (Macie is his familliar, a black swan)

‘Would you like some of my homemade chocolate cake?’

‘Hurt them again and I’ll punch your lights out’

‘Miss, I’m afraid your tentacle got stuck to my boat’ (some alien species)

Melanie:

‘Pitiful’ (her only response to someone flirting with her)

‘Do you not want to keep your teeth?’ 

‘I literally have demons as servants, you dumb fuck’

‘Here, I made you a cat plush’

‘I cannot comphrehend your nonsense’

‘I’d rather swallow a pregnant wildcat and crap out kittens’

‘I just woke up’ (at 8 pm, after she slept the entire day (she’s active at night))

‘Give me the cat that’s been here the longest’ (she adopts cats that no one wants)

2. If they were a romanceable character in The Arcana, how would their route be?

Starting in the shop, you visit Kim for some ingredients. He tries to be funny but you find his jokes weird. He knows it so he apologize. He saw you around and wanted to ask you on a date, but since he's so shy, he couldn't do it. You also saw him so many times. You liked him, but seeing how his expression were always intimidating, you tried to avoid him. You don't want to judge, but you were a little bit scared.

After a funny conversation, because you find his shyness so cute, you finally ask him on a date. His reaction is something like this:

Kim: Oh! Um, yes! I wanted to ask you, but um, I'm not um... That... Bold...

You: You're cute. Also, I don't know your name!

Kim: Yes! That's true! I'm sorry! I'm Kim!

You: Well, nice to meet you! See you this night, then?

Kim: O-Of course! See you later!

He blushes deeply and smiles to you, a smile that melts your heart.

After that date, you two go to more dates.

Also, you two work together to catch rhe murderer of Count Lucio. Nadia and everyone else find your dynamic so cute. Kim is a powerful magician, so you are, but together you can do anything. He's always worrying about you and he loves seeing you smiling. He loves making you laugh and when you look at him right in the eyes, he blushes deeply.

Kim: Is something wrong?

He's still blushing.

You: Oh, nothing at all! I just wanted to lookat your gorgeous face.

Kim: That's the cheesiest line I've ever heard... but luckily, it worked.

He looks at you and kisses you, avoidingyour gaze after it. You take him by the chin and smile fondly.

You: Let's kiss again!

He's incredibly insecure about himself, but thanks to you, you showed him how valuable his life is, how wonderful he is.

His card is The Lovers. You don't know quite why, but knowing him, and how he changed, how much he grew up, you eventually know why his card is The Lovers.

After discovering the truth about Lucio and his death, you two go to stop the devil. So now, upright and reversed end:

Upright: Kim tried to protect you, but ended on the floor, almost dying. Seeing your beloved one like that, your true potential shows and with all your might, you throw to him the most powerful spell. The devil is finished but Kim is still on the floor. You run to him and embrace him with your arms.

You: Kim! Please, stay with me! I... I can't live this life without you at my side. Kim! I... I love you! I should have told you that earlier, but I wanted to do it special! I wanted make you special, I wanted to make you feel how wonderful and incredible man you are! I... Please, don't die!

A powerful light embrace both of you. You close your eyes and when you open your eyes, you're again in the shop. Kim is safe and is watching you worried.

Kim: Y/n, are you okay!? The last thing I remember is you... Telling me... You love me?

You sigh relieved. The Lovers are talking to you. You reach for the card and you can hear clearly what they're saying. "Congratulations, Y/n, you have both survived and I can see, Kim is not alone anymore. It was quite the adventure, but I love seeing him this happy"

You smile and look at Kim. He's still looking at you surprised.

Kim: Y/n... Is that true?

You: It is, Kim. I love you.

He blushes again but runs to you and kisses you deeply. You're surprised, but you don't complain.

Kim: I... I love you too!

After some time, you two start a relationship, couple goals I can assure you. Even Nadia is touched by your cuteness.

Holding hands, you two walk toward the fountain. You're not sure how this will end, but you're happy now. Kim is happy. Everyone is happy and you're ready to live your life with your beloved one.

Reversed:

Kim's body lies on the floor. His blood covering his clothes. The Devil is smiling and you can't change you're madness. You run to The Devil, ready to kill him. He's fast, but you're faster. The Devil killed your beloved one. You couldn't say to him that you love him.

After a tiring fight, you on the floor, almost defeated, The Devil run to you, but with your final strength, you use your most powerful spell and right in their heart! You can feel it, you can feel how The Devil'sbody crumbles and you're now with their heart in your hand.

Desperate, you run to Kim and wishing he will be okay, you put The Devil's heart in his body.

Black smoke embrace his body and after a brief moment, you can see Kim. But this time is different. He looks different.

Kim: Y/n? Is that you?

You: Yes! Here I am!

Kim: My beloved one... I feel powerful. Why is that?

You: You are now the devil, Kim. I'm sorry! I wanted to save you no matter what and I thought--

He laughs sweetly and stops you.

Kim: I know, Y/n, it's okay. I'm... okay.

You: Are you sure?

He laughs again.

Kim: Come here, Y/n

You follow his instructions.

You: What it is?

He kisses you deeply, feeling his hands roaming your back.

Kim: Now, y/n, you have to go.

You: What?! I'm not living!

Kim: Y/n, Vesuvia needs you.

You: But, I need you to stay by my side!

Kim: I'll be okay, y/n. You can always come to visit me.

You: But--

Kim: Y/n, please.

You don't need to fight anymore, Kim is right. Vesuvia needs you.

You: Will you be alright?

Kim: Of course. As long as I feel you with me, I'll be alright.

You smile sadly and kiss him.

You walk towards the great gates to exist The Devil's realm. Kim follows you and kisses you once more.

Kim: Stay safe.

You start walking again, but you feel like you didn't say something yet. Then it hits you.

You: Kim! Wait! I have something to tell you.

Kim looks at you surprised.

Kim: What it is?

You: I love you.

Kim smiles and hugs you harder than ever.

Kim: I'm so happy to hear that! I love you too!

Once again, you walk away, feeling Kim's gaze hot in your back.

After some time, you are the magician of the court. You live in the palace. Everyone is happy to have you there and every night you visit Kim in his new realm. At first it got you so much time and effort, but after weeks training, you just have to close your eyes to go to Kim's realm.

sooooooooooooooooo here’s the dealio . work has me absolutely exhausted . if a six - hour training shift can fuck me up mentally and physically this much, it’s going to be very difficult for me to write effectively . so here’s the plan :

i’ll be dropping drafts that are unplotted to focus on my plotted ones . if we have a character relationship mapped out prior to this post, i’ll be keeping our thread .

i will be focusing on moving forward . for now, each character will be single - verse and single - ship. the verses will be :

ellie : cryptid verse . she lives in the woods and is a fairly well - known local cryptid, however, few people genuinely believe in her existence .

silas : botanist verse . he works alongside park rangers to help care for and identify local and invasive plant species, while also performing his own magical experiments on plants from faerie .

bee : child - swapper verse . bee is a for-hire kidnapper, switching human children out for fae to be raised as changelings . she frequently deals with humans, others, and fae alike .

natalie : ghost hunter verse . natalie is a former child semi - star, and now works running a small paranormal investigation business .

dianthe : photographer verse . a former follower of artemis, the now immortal - dianthe captures her prey using different methods than so many years ago . she also moonlights as a painter .

persephone : florist verse . the gods have faded, and the ones who were powerful enough to stay have had to make due . the goddess of spring now runs her own small florist business .

i will not be writing au’s unless heavily plotted .

in addition, i will favor deeper, more meaningful relationships over one-off threads . from now on, starter calls will be reserved for characters that have already interacted with the muse it refers to, and plotting calls will be for those i haven’t interacted with yet .

i’m capping threads at ten per muse and no more than two per partner ( this does not apply to other multi - muses, as several of our muses may interact . for multi - muse blogs, consider it two per your muse(s) ) .

bee : local forest faerie, kidnapper of children. raised as a changeling and works as something of a bounty hunter for the fae, trading human children for fae to be raised as changelings. responsible for the kidnapping of ellie’s mother and brother. mild alcoholic ( by human standards ) and has a fondness for cats.

silas : ellie’s brother, a clever botanist and faerie magic user. fascinated by the fae as well as herbal remedies. collector of books and shiny stones. often nonverbal, finds it incredibly difficult to speak to those he doesn’t know or isn’t extremely comfortable with. 

natalie : heir to a small paranormal investigating business, natalie grew up the child of a famous paranormal investigator. her father traveled the world and often took her with him, while she spent summers in her mother’s quiet home. she always looked up to her father, so when it was discovered natalie could see and communicate with ghosts, everyone was ecstatic. she is quite spoiled, having starred on a small-time ghost hunting show as a teenager alongside her father.

persephone : goddess of spring, heavily headcanon and lore olympus - based. originally known as kore, now choosing to call herself persephone. she was locked in a greenhouse by her mother, demeter, until she was allowed to live on mount olympus. 

dianthe : a follower of artemis, a member of her hunt since the days of olympus. when the old gods died, their followers lived on, and in the chaos, disbanded. she’s alone, immortal, wandering the world without the leader of her hunt. she chose photography as her new path, and travels across the country and sometimes further to capture images of what once would have been her prey.

I READ A BOOK: “Artemis” by Andy Weir

Six years ago, Andy Weir wrote the science fiction novel The Martian, about a botanist in a mission to Mars who left behind by his teammates and forced to survive on an inhospitable planet. Using his background as a programmer, Weir was able to construct a scientifically possible scenario, as well as inject some believable humor, and create a fully immersive and entertaining story.

With his new novel Artemis, Weir is still floating in outer space. This time, the action takes place on the moon and features a wide array of believable characters and exciting scenarios.

The novel follows Jasmine “Jazz” Bashara, a young smuggler of Saudi descent living in Artemis, the first city on the moon. Jazz is hired by a local businessman to dismantle the equipment of a rival company, a job she treats like any other hired job. However, the rival company is run by the local mob, getting Jazz and those close to her caught up in a conspiracy for control of the moon.

Like The Martian, Artemis is not afraid to get technical with its jargon. Weir’s work is always very scientific, featuring characters who actually understand the science being used and descriptions which aren’t dumbed down for the audience. Sometimes, the novel’s technicality gets overwhelming and the imagination really has to work hard to picture what Weir is writing. However, Jazz is such an engaging protagonist and her witty musings of her adventures help get the reader through the more confusing parts.

The main difference between Artemis and The Martian is the way each book chooses to begin its story. The Martian puts the reader into immediate action, with Mark Watney having already been left on Mars by his teammates. Artemis takes its time to introduce the readers to the story, giving Jazz a few chapters of backstory before thrusting her into adventure. While this method doesn’t quite suck the reader into the story like it did with The Martian, the extra chapters of introduction allow the world of Artemis to really fall into place, giving the reader a grander scope of this futuristic city.

Comparing the two novels by Weir, Artemis is a good second effort but I didn’t find it as fully realized as The Martian. Nonetheless, Artemis was a fun and intelligent read, one that wasn’t afraid to let science take the stage in an otherwise outrageous show.

I’ll go first, my apprentice is most like Belle from Beauty and the Beast because she loves to read and while Asra would always be away on his own journeys she wished for an exploration of her own and something fun. The daily life of Vesuvia is nice and all but before the events of the game, Victoriana was quite bored. Also, i like to add in a bit of Rapunzel from Tangled bc i like to headcanon that Asra didn’t really trust her to be out of the city after her rebirth and he thought it was too dangerous, so when Asra was away she would sneak away to the forest to feel free, and she didn’t know it but Muriel kept her secret. Also, a little Pocahontas for her love of nature and free spirit!
