You don't want your cat to be smart. Smart cats will get bored. They will require that you entertain them. They will come up with ways to get your attention; and smart cats will get creative. When cats are creative, it puts everyone around them in danger; it also puts them in danger. You will have to go to the ER; the cat will have to go to the separate ER that is for cats; if the cat got especially creative, you will both have to do this at the same time. This may present logistical difficulties. Cats should not be smart. Watch out.
