Queensland drops again as South Australia overtakes us in CommSec report
"But in absolute terms, the 1.7 per cent annual rate [of population growth] is third-strongest in the nation," he said. Retail spending was up 9.2 per cent in Queensland in the June quarter on the decade-average, but the state still came in sixth on the measure.

"We have the highest unemployment rate in the nation, rock-bottom business confidence and an economy that grew by just 0.1 per cent in the last quarter," he said. "Queensland used to be an economic powerhouse, but now we're way behind NSW and Victoria and even South Australia is beating us." But Treasurer Jackie Trad said the CommSec report continued to underestimate Queensland's economic performance.
Treasurer Jackie Trad defended the state's performance.Credit:Bradley Kanaris "Queensland was fortunate to experience a resources boom that created unprecedented economic growth," she said. "The CommSec report ranks states against their own performance over the last decade, so our 2018 economy is viewed against our economy at the height of the boom. "As a government, we have had the challenging task of transitioning from this boom into a sustainable economy that will continue to deliver jobs and opportunities for Queenslanders." Ms Trad pointed to a recent Deloitte Business Outlook report, which she said painted a positive picture of the potential of Queensland's economy into the future. Loading "Our economic plan for investing in infrastructure and building new industries is working - driving economic growth and job creation," she said. Queensland's 6.1 per cent trend jobless rate was 4.6 per cent higher than the long-term average, while construction work was down 13.6 per cent. On the measure of home building, dwelling starts were up 13.7 per cent in Queensland. Wage growth in the year to June was strongest in both Victoria and Tasmania (2.5 per cent) ahead of Queensland, which was up 2.2 per cent. Liberia: Police Investigates ‘Strange Church’ for ‘Brainwashing’ Minors
Monrovia – Parents have started taking custody of their children as police continue to investigate a strange church called ‘Saint Assembly,’ established six years ago.
Report by Bettie K. Johnson-Mbayo, [email protected]
Jackie Perry is the first parent to take custody of her son after he was reportedly baptized by the church some weeks ago.
Perry, a mother of four, was worried that her eldest son – an 11th grader – started behaving strangely.
The 17-year-old boy became a member of the church in April and was allegedly brainwashed to neglect his mother and three siblings.
He stopped using soap to take his shower; neither did he brush his teeth with toothpaste.
He stopped going to school based on this church’s doctrine being educated or going further with education is a sin.
“I was concerned and asked him; he told me that he knows the truth already. ‘My church, Saint Assembly, says it’s sinful,’” the worried mother told this newspaper.
“When he was home one day, I overheard people warning him to stay away from the church, but my son has grown interested in the church and was refusing everything I gave him.”
Perry’s first visit to the church was to warn them of her son since his change in behavior was getting unbearable for her.
She thanked the Liberia National Police (LNP) for allowing her to take custody of her son after he left the house unknown to everyone.
On Wednesday, July 4, police officers took into custody several members and pastors of the church to begin investigation on their alleged act of denying children’s right to education and family values.
A call was placed to the church’s general overseer, one Robert Dossen, whose wife answered and said her husband was not around.
The investigator instructed her to inform her husband that members of their church were detained at the police headquarters, she said “You can even take the whole church my husband will not come anywhere.”
On Thursday, July 5, another investigator called the general overseer, who told police that he wouldn’t turn himself in.
Dossen is a Liberian national; born in 1974 and got married in 2004 to Felecia Dossen.
He has two children the eldest is Ralph D. Dossen born 2000 while the youngest is Extra Ralphilia Dossen born early 2018.
He was a follower of Political Science while in his youth. His interest and devotion to it led him to political persecution by the opposition and assaulted because of his strong opposition.
In 2004 he was busted by police and sentenced for 18 months, charged for criminal acts in the Republic of Benin.
After a trial in the court, where he made his open restitution and confession his sentenced dropped to 11 months.
Dossen said while he was in prison in Benin, he was visited by the Holy Spirit and given a gospel of holiness that he did not know.
Years after he returned home as a refugee from Ghana, he got involved with the gospel in the Deeper Life Bible Church.
Dossen said in 2012 he was called by God, similar to his call to holiness in prison, to establish another righteous ministry to boost the work of holiness in Liberia and the world at large.
His ministry was formally established on June 30, 2013 in the city of Paynesville. With the shortest time from then to now, the church grew rapidly from 9 persons to 3,000-4000 congregational members, with 40 major branches across Liberia.
It is not known when Dossen will turn himself in for inquiry to Police investigators.

QLD Government Must Not Be Held Hostage By Newscorp's Courier Mail In New Acland Stage 3 Mining Lease Decision.
Queensland’s Big Coal propagandist media, in the form of the Courier Mail, must definitely not be permitted to hold sway over the Queensland Labor Government’s New Acland Stage 3 Mining Lease decision-making process, says Activist Group Stop Brisbane Coal Trains.
This follows the historic rejection of New Acland Stage 3 mine expansion by the Queensland Land Court on Wednesday.
SBCT group spokesman John Gordon said the Courier Mail was a pro-Big Coal blight on the QLD political landscape, and every effort must be made by Government decision makers to withstand the corporate media Big Coal barrage that Newscorp will bring to bear, following the unprecedented Land Court rejection of the controversial mine expansion.
“Make no mistake, the Courier Mail and it’s Newscorp stablemate, The Australian, will bring all their weight down on Anthony Lynham, Annastacia Palaszczuk, Jackie Trad and the Labor Party, in the wake of the New Acland Stage 3 Land Court rejection.”
“They are Queensland’s establishment tabloid media, always lobbying for Big Coal interests and denying Climate Science.”
“We expect to see a procession of vested interest parties trotted out in these Murdoch so-called newspapers, to try and resurrect the Acland Stage 3 dead horse. People like the turncoat former Federal Energy Minister and now Qld Resources Council (QRC) CEO Ian Macfarlane is already bucking up and down on the spot, spruiking false New Hope jobs figures that were thoroughly debunked during the Land Court proceedings.
Gordon said the Courier Mail was bound to recruit Big Coal sychophants and New Hope apologists (see list below) in its quest to peddle influence and subvert the Government decision making process.
“Long suffering Queenslanders can expect to see blanket coverage of these vested-interest-talking-heads paraded out like clockwork in the lead up to the Mining Lease decision.” “It will be sickening,” said Gordon. “SBCT urges the Government - and for that matter the rest of the Queensland and National media - to hold the line and adhere to the Land Court’s comprehensive findings and decision, and not be swayed or intimidated by Newscorp and the Courier Mail.”
“They will be under siege but must hold the line, in the name of the truth and of our Democracy. -ends - SBCT list of key Big Coal Vested Interests: Tim Nicholls (LNP), Jeff Seeney(LNP), Deb Frecklington (LNP), Andrew Cripps (LNP) Ian MacFarlane (LNP and now QRC CEO), Michael Roche (former QRC CEO and now a Coal Consultant for some pro coal Legal firm), Barnaby Joyce (National Mining Party), Matt Canavan (National Mining Party), Barry O'Sullivan (National Mining Company), Josh Frydenberg (Liberal COALition)
