Posting some older art here. For y'all who don't know, I DM a little homebrew horror campaign for some close friends. This was the second creechur that was developed for it, and it is called a Bloodspitter.

From my notes: "Bloodspitters are quadrupedal creatures that resemble a human, with a gaping maw on their chest, instead of a sternum. Their ribcage is mobile to open and close this mouth. Their skin and body is relatively pale, and their body is covered in fine, translucent scales. They tend to sit in shadows: due to their translucent skin, the only visible part of them is their facial features (eyes/mouth). Bloodspitters derive their name from their highly acidic saliva- it is bloodlike in appearance and their primary form of killing/eating their prey is through spitting saliva on them to act as both a paralytic and digest it outside of their stomachs. Bloodspitters are also ambush predators, due to their translucent skin and low dexterity. When ambushing prey, they will pounce out of the shadows and grapple their prey, smearing their saliva over their body while attempting to force the melting prey into its chestmouth. Bloodspitters have shown to have unique levels of intelligence. Most have similar functions and activities to animals like cats. However, there are a few who are slightly more intelligent. These tend to be slower to attack, but are aware of the general strengths of different party members, and will tend to avoid prey that they recognize as resistant/immune to poison, and will target spellcasters with lower AC and melee options than, say, a fighter.
