Tell us about Japan?

There's both so much and nothing at all to tell... I got here Just before coronavirus became the Big Thing everywhere (at the end of my training/beginning of march there were only like 100 cases in the country outside of the diamond princess cruise ship) but then it started Happening so most of my experiences here have been colored by that. 

I will say that I’m stuck between staying here another year or so and moving back to the US bc the Healthcare here is So Cheap compared to the US and the 100 yen stores are the Bomb

Hi! If you don't mind, I've been following your work for a while and had a few questions about your art (Please ignore this message if you don't want to answer). I love your tarot cards and I'm trying to figure out how to do them on my own. Have you ever uploaded a tutorial/gif/speedpaint showing how you do them? Rn I'm trying to figure it out by looking at the final images. (Seeing a PSD & how you arrange layers would be invaluable, but I understand if you don't want to share those.) [1/2]

[2/2] Do you start from a b/w painting, or go straight to colour under a sketch? How do you get that colour noise on top of everything? Or that painterly brushstroke texture overlay? What brushes/resources do you use? Thank you in advance! 

Hey!I’ve only recently figured out how to record my drawing process, so unfortunately there isn’t one of the tarots I did earlier. 

For the brushes, I have a collection of free-to-download sets from all over deviantart, could not name the sources if I tried. But I mostly go with pastel brushes that closely resemble those from the default Photoshop set.  

I usually start painting under the sketch, sampling colors from artworks that’ve inspired me at that time, and once that is more or less figured out I paint over the sketch to refine the shapes, keeping or disabling the sketch layer depending on the desired effect.

Both the color noise and the brushstroke texture are made by using free for use textures I’ve found online, usually set to Overlay or Screen but you can experiment to see what works best.

Lastly, I paint over it a bit, just in case there are some details or colors I do not like. 

That said, I promise to start making speedpaints and such in the near future.

hmmm, i really like aquariums and zoos, but i wouldn’t mind going to a café or a bookstore. if there’s a movie i’ve been wanting to see, that’s usually a fun thing to do. it really depends on my mood.

actualy iirc my roommates are gonna make waffles for dinner so im not like. worried. i just cant rly figure out exactly what the smell is other than its sweet and also the best

a rice cinnamon drink that i think is usually made with milk???(edit its not traditionally made with milk apparently but idk what ppl do nowadays) but i just got a cheap dry mix that you can add to water. its rly good i have it like. at least once a day now
