Abundance: fullness of joy & strength in mind, body & soul! She’s 97! I’m 46! I’m tired and not showered! We’d only arrived hours before this picture but I’m very happy! My husband & I travel from Dallas to El Paso - 10 hours one way (on average we come every 4-6 weeks - sometimes we fly but we love the road trip & each other so there’s that!) to show up for her, to spend time with her, to take her all the places she wants to go, to spend quality time with her, to laugh with her, to listen to the amazing stories of her childhood, her long marriage, her three kids, her grandkids (2 of which she says are really her kids😉) Her work in the military.... I could go on and on. She is my personal development coach on the side & she doesn’t even know it. She teaches me so much about things that really matter the most. I make it a priority in my life to see her every chance I can because she’s NINETY SEVEN & I don’t want my last visit to be my last visit. She is the epitome of hard work, dedication & determination. Her stories never get old. She’s a depression baby & I can sit for hours & listen to ALL THE THINGS she grew through. I thought I had a tough childhood & I’m not discounting that. It was just very, very different times. What’s her secret to be this age? She never drank, never smoked, never sits still, eats what she wants, when she wants but knows when enough is enough for her. She just stopped driving - reluctantly. She drinks only water. She reads every single day & a lot. She works puzzles every single day. She is a devout Catholic. She gives & gives & never has expectations of receiving. She loves to “party!” She lives everyday to the fullest that she possibly can & she never gives up, ever! Age is just a number & we are both just living our best lives in the fullness of joy & strength... right now. Today!! She is a beautiful light I love to be around.
