iZombie 5x10 "Night in the Zombie City" Review
With just three episodes of iZombie left, we are inching closer and closer to the truth about the cure, and characters are going to more drastic measures as time ticks on.
For this week’s murder, a young sex worker and private eye detective are killed back to back. Liv eats the detective’s brain, bathing the episode in noir. Sad saxophones, light bars across the eyes, and long trench coats. A thunderstorm plays in the background for the whole episode, making every scene feel like a dark and stormy night. The power goes out in the station, giving it a 50’s black and white movie vibe. Bunny, the sex worker, was one of Candy’s girls, so the investigation naturally winds up at Don E Be Good’s. All signs point to the waitress, Jane, who ends up returning to the scene of the crime. Blaine confronts her near the bar, and right before Jane is about to shoot him, Crybaby comes in and knocks her out cold. Blaine eats her brain in hopes of finding out more, and he has a vision. The private eye detective had managed to secure a cure for Bunny, and Jane caught wind of it. Trying to steal the cure for herself, she killed both of them. Of course, getting another cure would be in Blaine’s best interest, and so he eats Jane’s brain in hopes to figure out where she stashed the cure.
Blaine and Liv cross paths at the private eye’s office while working on the case, but tensions finally boil over between the two when they are looking for the cure in the kitchen of Don E Be Good’s. Peyton gets Liv to come out drinking, and Peyton drowns her sorrows and delivers wobbly karaoke. The fun comes to an abrupt end when someone tells Peyton that she was a bad mayor. She tells him exactly what she thinks about that by sockin him right in the mouth. A huge bar fight breaks out. “Seriously? On karaoke night?” Don E moans. If only he knew the knockout, drag-out Liv and Blaine were having in the back. This is certainly not the first time that these two have come to fisticuffs, but this time it gets ugly. Crybaby intervenes again, with more intentions to kill. Right before he brings the bat down on Liv’s head, Clive comes to the rescue. Blaine throws Crybaby under the bus for Jane’s murder, which is what Blaine does, and Crybaby truly should not be shocked about it.
Peyton is also arrested. Poor girl is clearly having a hard time dealing with not being mayor anymore. Now that she’s off the hook for all of Seattle’s problems, what else does she have to do? “Did I ever tell you I wanted to be a paleontologist?” she tells Liv. “Seems hard to get fired from that job.” I hope in the next three episodes, Peyton can get her groove back, rather than taking up an extended stay in Margaritaville and getting arrested for bar fights.
Another character who has been under a lot of stress lately, as well as a new relationship, is Don E. In a bought of frustration, he calls the murders a “hassle” for business, which rubs Darcy the wrong way. Confused about what he said, Liv soothes him while sipping on hard liquor. “Dames got you dizzy, Don E. It’s what dames do.” He has a sweet moment with Candy, where she encourages him to get Darcy back, and it seems a little bit like a final goodbye. Candy has been an unsung hero of this series. She has never had a full plot on her own, unfortunately always at the mercy of the unethical men in her life. We aren’t often in tune with her thoughts and feelings, but she has been with us since the beginning. So when we see her steal the cure for herself and get on the back of a sexy motorcycle, I cheered out loud. Cue the Lucille Bluth “Good for her!” gif! Although it sets our heroes back, yet again ending an episode cure-less, I can’t help but feel like out of all the people to get one of the rare original cures, Candy deserves it the most. Be free, Candy!
Darcy agrees to speak to Don E, and she tells him that she was angry at his reaction to Bunny because his chief concern was finding a replacement for her. Darcy doesn’t have much time left, so she was worried that would be Don E’s reaction to her death as well. Don E has matured the most out of any character on this show, and so when he tells Darcy that he’s hardened by all the death in his life, but still loves her, it feels like a hard won, vulnerable moment from him. He asks Darcy to marry him, which was the perfect mix of corny and sweet. At first I was sure that we would see Darcy die by the end of the season, but I’m beginning to wonder if the show has a future for these two after all. If there’s any zombies standing after Liv and Martin’s showdown, that is.
Ravi wastes no time telling Liv the truth about her father, that he also, in fact, is Father of all Zombie-kind. In turn, she wastes no time confronting him about it. Not only is she angry that he withheld something so major, it also means he holds the key to the cure. He created the recipe for utopium that could be the solution to all their problems. He quickly tells her that he was high all the time in those days, so there’s no way he remembers the recipe. The audience knows this isn’t true, and it’s only a matter of time before Liv and the group find out. But not before Ravi lapses judgement a little and tells Martin he was testing rats with Max Rager, the energy drink that gives extreme psychological effects. When it’s paired with utopium, it turns people into zombies. Ravi explains that it stimulants the frontal cortex. Martin seems incredibly interested at this piece of information, and we found out later that Max Rager is the last piece of the puzzle that he needs to control his army.
At Fillmore Graves, Major is begging for a distraction from the negotiations with the government. His second gives him a note that the keycard system needs to be replaced. While she mentions that it’s “just boring stuff,” it turns disturbing fast. Major catches a janitor with a huge carton of Max Rager with two keycards. When Major tells him that he wants to ask him some questions, the janitor runs into a shower hook, impaling his brain rather than talk. When Ravi hears what the janitor was trying to steal, he brings up to Liv the conversation he had with Martin. Liv proposes sneaking into Martin’s house while he’s in an AA meeting, and boy do they hit the motherlode. Not only do they find the exact recipe from the night of the yacht party that created the first zombie outbreak, but they find the army too. Ravi pulls aside the curtain, hoping for an escape route, and finds a pack of Romeros staring back at him behind a cage.
Meanwhile, two of the weakest plots of the show finally meet each other and seem to resolve. As a little recap, Hi Zombie is the webseries that Peyton got fired for funding. The premise is two families move in next door to each other — one human, one zombie — and they root out all the stereotypes they have against each other. Every clip or scene we’ve seen of this show has been didactic and a little forced, but surely it was a plot device to build some kind of crucial bridge. The threat of nuclear warfare has been looming over New Seattle for quite some time now, and I mean a long time now. I understand this is a big decision, but it’s been stretched to the point of taking the wind out of the story’s sails a bit. I never actually believed that New Seattle would get nuked, and now we know it’s probably not going to. Why? All because of Hi Zombie! The chairman walks in on her grandson watching the show, and leans over to watch it with him for a while. Over the course of the evening, she has a change of heart about the zombie community. When it comes down to a vote on whether or not to nuke the town, she breaks the tie by voting no. “They have the capacity to become monsters” she says, but she can’t base her vote on “for fear for what they might become.” All of this is certainly not good enough for General Mills, who pays a phone call to our favorite local criminal, Dolly. These two make a toxic team up, for sure, but how will they factor in to the grand finale?
Final thoughts:
Ravi does an amazing noir detective monologue that I can only assume is based off Harrison Ford’s Bladerunner voiceover
Was it just me, or was there extra alcohol in this episode?
“I’ll sleep when I’m dead” “You’re already dead.” It seems unbelievable to me this joke hasn’t been played yet
“We’re not talking about your book. By the book. My book.” I’m going to miss Malcolm Goodwin rolling with every brain swing. He’s exasperated by a brain nearly every week, but this one particularly got under his skin. He tells Liv she’s off the case until she eats a brain tube, but that certainly doesn’t stop her.
“That was just a love tap!”
I always feel frustrated when this show uses terribly dated language, like “hooker” and “junkie.” It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
“The classic lamp reveal.” Finally, a brain that matches Blaine for his dramatics.
Don E’s laugh when Peyton starts singing is pure iZombie
“We’re going to Don E Be Good’s.” “Good’s enough!” Again — so obvious but brilliant.
Haley’s episode rating: 🐝🐝🐝🐝
iZombie airs Thursdays at 9/8c on the CW.

Top 18 posts of 2018 (+ survey help!)
Hi friends! How are you? I hope you’re having a wonderful day. The girls and I are finishing up our San Diego and Anaheim trip – I’ll have a recap up soon with all of the adventures! – and work-wise, I’ve been spending time planning my editorial calendar for 2019. This year has been a bit of a transitional year for me, and we have some changes headed our way in 2019. I’m really looking forward to having a more solid work schedule, and getting some awesome content produced for you. I’d love to hear about any of your requests for the upcoming year, so if you wouldn’t mind helping me out with a short survey, I’d really appreciate your help! Link to the survey is here and it takes less than 2 minutes.
It’s always been my goal to create a blog that you love to read: one that shares valuable and inspiring content, and also real life as a mom and fitness professional. I’m so thankful for you for reading, whether you’ve been here for the entire 10 years (thank you!) or if this is your first time stopping by (HI!). I feel like I know so many of you and look forward to your comments and interacting with you each day.
Some of the things I’m considering or already working on for 2019:
– A Home Workout Warrior workout series (probably a 5-video combo with a month fitness plan; dumbbells and bodyweight only)
– The podcast! I’ll be back in January with some incredible guests. It’s been so much fun to explore this new avenue for sharing health-related content with you guys. I feel like I get to chill in my pajamas and chat with inspiring people, so it’s been an awesome addition to the blog.
– More videos! I’ll be sharing more this winter, but we’re going to be staying in Tucson. This means we’ll be here with the fam (YAY) and I’ll also have the opportunity to create more videos with Grant and Katie. I love creating pinnable workouts for you guys (like this one and this one!) but I fee like video is helpful to have too, especially if you prefer to follow along and get form cues.
– More recipes! I haven’t felt super inspired on the recipe front lately, but feel like it’s been coming back. Some of my top posts here on the blog have been recipes, and I usually love creating and sharing them. I haven’t had a ton of time to create in the kitchen lately, but will be focusing on it again in the new year.
When I plan out my content for the upcoming year, it’s helpful to go back and explore the posts that were the most popular.
Here are my top 18 posts of 2018:
1. PiYo Review Month 1
This continues to be my #1 post, which is hilarious because it’s kind of old and the photos aren’t great. PiYo is an amazing workout if you’re looking for something low impact, but challenging. In the new year, I would love to try out and review a couple of the new Beachbody workouts.
2. How to combine baby led weaning with purees
This was an unexpectedly controversial post, but it’s what we did with both of our kids. They both loved purees, but they also loved tiny soft bites of real food. These are some of the strategies we used, but it’s worth mentioning again that you should always discuss feeding techniques with your pediatrician and do what works best for your family.
3. Homemade Sous Vide Egg Bites
These are SO good and an inexpensive copycat version of the Starbucks classic. You don’t need a fancypants sous vide to make them.
4. Potty training tips from two nanas
Aka that one time my mom and my nana potty trained Liv in 24 hours.
5. 1 month of baby food, 1 hour, $20 (round 2)
These were some of my favorite posts to create. I LOVED making baby food and had so much fun sharing new tastes and textures with the girls.
6. Morning detox drink
I still drink this on a regular basis, especially in the fall/winter.
7. Working out with diastasis recti
There isn’t a ton of info about working out with DR out there, so I really wanted to create a space with all of my favorite exercises and tips in one spot. I’m so happy that this one has done well because I feel like it’s important info for new mamas, and a topic I’m truly passionate about.
8. My breast implant removal story
I can’t believe that this was almost 2 years ago. I feel like a different person now, and while yes, I sometimes miss my boobs (like when I wear a swimsuit), I feel a thousand times better with them out.
9. Chocolate protein oatmeal bake
This is a delicious (and healthy!!) make-ahead breakfast recipe if you haven’t tried it!
10. Baked breakfast cookie
This is such a convenient breakfast treat that kiddos love, too.
11. 1 month of baby food, 1 hour, $20
This was one of the many posts that I created for the blog that I spent hours putting together, and LOVED every second. I couldn’t wait to share it with you! I’m so so happy so many mamas out there have found these recipes to be helpful.
12. Review of the Peloton app
I’m a huge fan of all things Peloton – check out my full non-sponsored review of the Peloton bike here!– and used the app for over a year before switching to the bike. Even if you’re not into spin, the treadmill, bootcamp, yoga, and stretching classes make it worth the investment.
13. 30-20-10 workout
Number games make workouts go by much more quickly, and this one is no exception.
14. The fitness page
This is the collection of all of the workouts I’ve created for you guys. It makes my heart happy to see ya using it! I love sharing free, effective workouts with you all, and this is a page where you can find whatever you’re looking for, whether it’s barre, kettlebell, video workouts, or ab blasts.
15. The best pasta salad ever
If you’re going to a potluck type event, just make this. It’s SO, so insanely good (and if there are leftovers, they’re even better).
16. The about page
Maybe I should update this. heh.
17. Apple Watch vs. Fitbit Alta
It took a while for me to switch over to an Apple Watch from a Fitbit and now I feel like I couldn’t live without it!
18. Homemade nibble bars
Another baby food recipe! I wonder if the girls would be cool with being taste testers for some baby/toddler food style blog recipes. At least we all know they’d give very honest feedback.
Is there a particular post that you loved this year? Anything you want to see on the blog in 2019? Please leave a comment below, or hit me up in the survey here!

New Post has been published on https://fitnesshealthyoga.com/holiday-weekend-in-sd-and-anaheim/
Holiday weekend in SD and Anaheim
Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a wonderful week. I can’t believe that we’re fully into holiday mode – I feel like it snuck up on us this year – and that there are so many things going on in the next couple of weeks. Liv’s class has their holiday party, we have Nutcracker and Zoo Lights with friends, and before we know it, we’ll be eating enchiladas at my dad’s house on Christmas Eve. We’re going to do all of our holiday baking this weekend, so if you have any standout recipes, please let me know! (I definitely have these, these, and these on the agenda so far.)
We’re back from an incredible trip to Anaheim and San Diego. Usually when we get back from a vacation, I’m a little bummed, but pretty ready to get back into *real life.* This particular trip felt really different. I literally felt a weight of sadness when the plane landed in Tucson yesterday. It’s probably because this was one of my very favorite trips with the girls. They seem like they’re at an ideal age for travel – I feel like we finally made it!!!- and nothing about the trip felt like work. It was pure joy. Traveling when they were babies was awesome, but there’s something really freeing about zero pack n’ plays, diapers, wipes, multiple outfit changes, or fear they’ll be shrieking and crying on the flight, ya know? (Parents with newborns: hang in there. There is a light at the end of the travel tunnel!) The whole weekend was filled with so much fun and magic; I wasn’t read for it to be over.
MY OTHER VIDEOS
We flew into San Diego on Friday, and we headed straight to pick up on our rental car. Last time, they upgraded me to a van and the girls acted like they won the lottery. I got a van again to surprise them and P cried after our trip and “her vam” was gone. She was equally devastated and disgusted to see my real car when this whole thing was over.
After we got the famous van, we grabbed a quick snack at beloved Tiki Port
and hit the road to Anaheim.
Usually we drive up to Anaheim on Saturday morning. I had a feeling traffic might be a little bad on a Friday afternoon, but we went for it anyway. It was horrible, and took 4 hours to get there instead of 1.5. The girls were extremely patient despite the long delays, and when we finally checked into the hotel, we ordered room service for dinner (which was delicious) and called it a night.
Saturday morning, we were ready to hit the parks!
We spent two days moving between California Adventure and Disneyland. The first day we rode a ton of rides, and the second day, we focused more on parades and shows.
Some of the highlights:
wearing ugly Christmas sweaters together
the girls meeting Gaston
(P was unimpressed and the guy who portrayed him was HILARIOUS)
the holiday parade,
the girls’ face painting,
(Livi got a mermaid mask and P thought her face paint transformed her into a real tiger)
watching the girls interact with all of the characters
riding Indiana Jones by myself and screaming the entire time,
all of the incredible holiday decor,
and this macaron the size of my face.
You guys. The holiday food at California Adventure is insane right now. As we walked by each food cart, the scene was usually something like this,
“Ohmygod, did you see that? Stuffing mac n’ cheese?”
“I’m looking at that channa masala.”
“No wait, I think I want to try the shrimp and grits.”
“We’re sharing a sangria, right?”
And it went on and on and on. While Disneyland food can be hit or miss
(we did find a new fave in Adventureland: Bengal Barbecue!),
I feel like California Adventure has really stepped up their snack and beverage game. I feel like it’s almost turned into a mini Epcot with all of the food and cocktail destinations. We were wondering what took the place of Coco land, and were stoked to see that it’s an Elena-devoted area with live music, an Elena parade, character meetings, and Mexican food. It’s like a mini Epcot-esque Mexican pavilion. I really hope it stays this way! We listened to a Cuban band and ate chili rellenos and burritos one night, and it was awesome.
We were so lucky that madre was able to join us for another trip! We all have the best time with her, so we were thrilled when she took the weekend off work to come play with us. It was also really helpful at the parks because P is a little daredevil and wants to ride ALL THE RIDES, while Liv is a bit more apprehensive. This way, I could take P on some of the more intense rides and madre and Liv could hang out in the gift shop or people-watch. We still did 90% of the activities together, but this way they were each able to have the experience they wanted.
(Livi’s dress is here and P’s shirt is here)
After two full days at Disney, we drove back down to San Diego and made a stop at Kid Ventures in Liberty Station for the girls to play. They ran around playing for a couple of hours until we were all ready for lunch at the Public Market. All of the classics were there, and of course I got my favorite poke bowl.
We also shared deserts from Crafted,
(the remnants of a brookie: brownie on the bottom, cookie on top)
and drove over to Coronado to spend the night.
We got there just in time to watch the Grinch and chill in the hotel for a bit, then bundled up to play on the beach for a couple of hours and watch the sunset.
I’m pretty sure I’ll never forget the girls chasing each other up to where the ocean meets the sand, then running back, giggling to themselves.
They really are the best little friends.
After we “got our feet wet” (which always equals completely drenched legs and pants), they played on the hotel playground, and we headed over to the Del to walk around and shop. (Check out my holiday review of the Hotel del Coronado here!) I remembered that they had ice skating, and the girls were both so excited to try it. At first, I took turns taking each girl around the loop while the other one stayed back with madre. They were both like little noodle legs and it was a serious core workout trying to keep everyone upright.
By the end of our hour of skating, both girls could make it around the entire loop and didn’t want me to hold their hand or touch them in any way. P held onto the wall and took little steps while I skated next to her, and Liv was ahead of us, away from the wall, doing her thing. Madre took pictures and videos of us skating around, but somehow missed my triple salchow and toe loop. Oh well. Next time.
We were ready for hot drinks (cocoas for the girls, a hot toddy for meeeeeee) and went to their pizza restaurant, ENO for cheese board, salad, and margherita pizza. Of course, the girls had ice cream from the parlor next door because vacation mode. (This weekend was the most delicious avalanche of sugar.) The next morning came a little too quickly and we were packed up and heading to the airport!
(P’s sweater is here and Livi is wearing these cute Mickey leggings)
While we were at the Del, I was thinking this definitely needs to become a tradition. A couple of weeks before Christmas, I think we should head to Disney and Coronado for a bit. It added so much to the magic of the season and it was such a welcomed bit of downtime and bliss during an otherwise hectic (but wonderful!) time of year.
I hope you’re having a lovely week, too. Do you have any vacation traditions each year? Are you traveling in the next couple of months??
I’ll be back in the morning with the last gift guide for the year + one more giveaway! xo

Pumpkin Pie Protein Bowl (gluten-free, vegan)
Hi friends! How are you? I hope your morning is going well.
Yesterday was a weird day. The Pilot was out of town, and when my alarm went off, I thought I heard the beep that the door makes when it’s opened. I went out to check and see what was going on, and didn’t see Liv in her bed. I rushed around trying to find her and immediately started trying to figure out where she was. When I went to the door, it was unlocked, which really freaked me out. I thought I’d look one more time in her room, and sure enough, she was under her covers. It scared me to death, and we had a talk about not randomly opening the door. (I guess it was payback for that one time I was in elementary school and my dad came into my room to wake me up for school and I was hiding in my closet. UGH.)
I spent school drop-off in a bit of a fog until I came home and checked the news. I was absolutely shocked to hear about the incident in Las Vegas, and I’ve been constantly thinking about the victims and affected families. A few of my friends were at the concert, and thankfully they’re ok. The rest of the day I felt heavy with sadness, but still did all of the usual things that bring me joy, like hanging out with the girls and teaching two barre classes.
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Bowl
I also had an awesome pumpkin protein bowl, and thought I’d share the recipe with ya, since it’s perfect for the fall season. (Or any season when you’re someone like me and stock up on canned pumpkin before it’s gone. Pumpkin bread in July? YAS.)
This little protein bowl is not only packed with protein, it tastes like pumpkin pie in a bowl. The granola on top gives it an awesome crunch, and it’s even better with a spoonful of coconut whip.
This smoothie also has not one, but TWO vegetables in it: pumpkin (obvs),
and frozen cauliflower.
Smoothie with Frozen Cauliflower
If you’ve been scared to try cauliflower in your smoothie, I totally get it. I was, too.
Finally I gave it a whirl a couple of months ago, and now almost all of my smoothies have frozen cauliflower or peeled zucchini inside. It’s such an easy way to add in bonus nutrients, plus it gives it a creamy texture without dramatically affecting the sweetness or flavor.
I used 1/3 cup frozen cauliflower in this recipe, but feel free to use less if it’s your first time! I don’t think you’ll even notice it’s there.
Here’s the recipe if you’d like to give it a try!

Ingredients
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/3 cup (or less!) frozen cauliflower
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon maple syrup (more if you want it sweeter)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (this is the one I used)
Pinch of sea salt
1/3 cup ice
1 tablespoon almond butter
3/4 cup - 1 cup almond milk (depending on how thick you want it)
Optional Toppings
Granola
Dried Cranberries
Coconut Whip
Instructions
Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
Pour into a bowl, and top with your favorite granola and/or dried cranberries + coconut whip.

I used the cranberry Purely Elizabeth granola, and it was the perfect complement to the pumpkin pie flavor of the smoothie.
Enjoy!!
xoxo

Ps. Who’s watching This Is Us tonight? I CAN’T WAIT (to probably cry).

Top posts of 2019 (and survey help!)
Hi friends! Hope you’re enjoying the morning! I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for 2020 to begin. The end of 2019 can pretty much go in the trash can lol. Even though I’ve been feeling way better, I’m still a bit tired and achy. I haven’t worked out since Xmas eve, and I just feel ready to feel like myself again, get back into a routine, and not feel like I could nap at any second.
As I set my intentions for the upcoming year, I always like to go back and check out my blog posts to see which ones performed well. Some of these are usually expected, and some are complete surprises! It gives me a little glimpse into the type of content that you’re looking for and I like to use some of these ideas to plan future posts.
When I’m planning my content for the next year, I also use your survey suggestions and topic requests. If you haven’t done this year’s survey yet, please take 2 minutes here! Your feedback is invaluable to me (and yes I’ll have a sneaky giveaway to celebrate this week!).
Here are my 19 top blog posts for 2019:
1) PiYo review month 1. This is one of those posts that continues to do well every single day and I’m afraid to mess with it even though the photos are a total nightmare. Carry on, old post.
2) Potty training tips from two nanas. This is from that one time that my mom and nana potty-trained Liv in 24 hours. She was a little over two years old and it was a game changer. I was really excited to use their strategies for P, but she ended up potty-training herself around 18 months. She screamed at me, “NO DIAPERS” every time I went to put a diaper on her, so finally I stopped… and turns out she didn’t need them any more. These kids are a mystery in the best way, I tell ya.
3) How to combine baby led weaning with purees. This one was unexpectedly controversial. Turns out people get fired up about how other people feed their babies, despite epic disclaimers and “talk with your pediatrician and do what works best for your family.” Both of our kids had purees in addition to baby led weaning for convenience and it worked out well for our family. They’re both awesome and adventurous little eaters now.
4) When I got my breast implants removed and my experience with explant. This was an important post for me and one where I really put it all out there. I was so thankful for all of the support I’ve received about this and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health.
5) My full review of the Peloton App. Even if you don’t want to invest in the Peloton bike or treadmill, you can absolutely still get an awesome workout using the app. They have so many workouts available, including bootcamp, meditation, and yoga, plus you can use the app on a spin bike or treadmill at home or the gym. I use the app on my old spin bike for about a year before purchasing a Peloton bike.
6) Top 5 easy healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These are some of our go-to staples that we still enjoy all the time!
7) Baked breakfast cookie. This is a convenient and portable breakfast treat. I haven’t made it in a while, but I have a feeling that it will be making a comeback. Liv is changing schools next semester and it starts earlier and is a bit farther, so as much as I’d love to have time for them to eat at home, we’ll probably have a lot of car breakfasts.
8) Full Peloton bike review and is the Peloton bike worth it? The Peloton bike is one of my favorite purchases EVER and I still use it at least 2-3 times a week. The Pilot is into it now, too! I’m obsessed with my bike and if you’re considering gifting yourself one for New Years, my code gets you $100 off accessories: XXKJQU.
9) Morning detox drink. This is one of my classic drinks and I especially love it during the winter months. According to Liv, it smells like death, but I look forward to it.
10) Homemade nibble bars. These are the perfect little bars for toddlers and tiny hands! I need to make some for Augs.
Tumblr media
  11) How to keep your guinea pig cage clean. This was an important post to write because I did SO much research before we got guinea pigs to make sure our house wouldn’t smell like a barn. The strategy really works and visitors are usually impressed by how clean the cage is and the fact that Livi’s room doesn’t smell.
12) Fitness categories page. This is where I keep all of my workouts and they’re organized by muscle group and type of workout!
13) Orangetheory vs. Barry’s Bootcamp. This one is a comparison between Orangetheory and Barry’s Bootcamp with what makes them difference. I feel like it could use an update since I feel like the Orangetheory workouts and technology have changed quite a bit.
14) 1 month of baby food, 1 hour, $20 – round 2. Baby food posts are always on my top lists. Since we’re done on the babies front, I think I should make food for a baby friend of ours so I can take some new pics.
Tumblr media
  15) Healing timeline for breast explant and diastasis recti repair. In this post, I broke down my healing journey and what it looked like. It was a ROUGH recovery, but I’d do it again tomorrow if I needed to. I wanted to write this post because when I was first researching getting my implants out and having my diastasis recti repaired, I couldn’t find anything like this. I wanted to know how I could build up my movement, exactly how I’d be feeling, and any tips for a better recovery.
16) My review of the book Thinner, Leaner, Stronger. While this isn’t my favorite strength training or healthy living resource, I liked it way more than I expected.
17) Exciting cable machine exercises. This post is if you’re sick of doing the same ol’ cable exercises. It includes some of my favorite ways to switch it up!
18) DIY shower steamers. I love these little beauties! They’re like a bath bomb for your shower and made with natural ingredients.
19) 1 month of baby food, 1 hour, $20. The OG baby food post. This one absolutely needs new photos but I’m really proud of the recipes. It’s been fun to see mamas make this food for their babies over the years.
Tumblr media
So tell me friends: is there a post on the blog that stuck out to you that you really loved? Any topic requests for 2020?
See ya soon with some tips for New Years resolution mindset.
xoxo

Please leave a comment below, or hit me up in the survey here!
xo
