"I'm going through the dew, through a glassy midnight wine. A rainbow of sadness blooms on my head. My shadow flies into the night, so fiery and real, Like a shadow of a star, a shadow of a dead star." – from "Pilnatis" by Henrikas Radauskas.

New super chill video from Liūdni Slibinai!  It's for one of my favorite songs by them too!  And look how ludicrously fashionable Aistė is!

"Jeigu Aš Bučiau Vyras" ("If I were a man"), a rather feminist song by Liūdni Slibinai . . . in particular Aistė Lasytė. <3

Someone translated the text from the Liūdni Slibinai website, and it's all the more beautiful now that I understand every bit of it.  Like, no one in the world could possibly have described them better than this.
"This, by no means holy trinity has a sacred purpose - with their sad songs and bare hearts to urge each Lithuanian to renounce frivolity and joie de vivre. Texts for these hooligans-actors-musicians-dancers-comedians-singers are written by poets  . . ."
Hooligans-actors-musicians-dancers-comedians-singers is exactly what they are.  Hooligans first.
Also, Dominykas is "evidence that tiny body can accommodate a vast soul," Aiste "doesn't care about anyone or anything" (read: no fucks given), and Vaidas "is unrewarded with any sense of humour, therefore always funny."
Basically the description of the band is just 100% accurate, also funny.  I mean, I don't know what I expected, but I was so happy to find this.

HOLY CRAP SO MUCH AWESOME HOW TO DESCRIBE IT
1. Google Translate x Wikipedia tells me this song is indeed a parody of folk songs (I knew it wasn't serious but that's a good tip) and here it's turned to 11
2. Then halfway through they switch into English and make fun of America and Lady Gaga?!  (And artists who translate their songs into English maybe!?)
3. Oh and that intro is a perfect example of code switching code switching code switching
4. The guys' hair
5. Dominykas (short guy) can work it
6. AND IN CASE YOU DIDN'T NOTICE, THAT'S "COWS & COWS & COWS" IN THE BACKGROUND
asdf asdf asdf I can't even
I'm dead Aš mirusi I can't take this
