i am literally speachless. honestly like idk what to say. i’m mostly just absolutely LIVID tho bcs i’ve been trying to get around to reading this for a while but then work and uni anihalated me and i dipped from tumblr so oop. but last night i couldn’t sleep and was just thinking and then all of the sudden i was like wAIT so i used the last of my data (it was 2 am so my wifi was shot😭) to search up the duke and i and sat in to read, which is why i’m so PISSED because it took me MONTHS to pick up this absolutely astounding masterpiece. i kid you not it was 3:30 when i finished and i just sat back and laughed because i have not been so engrossed in a fic in AGES. and i swear on my life no one can write historical fiction like you. and it wasn’t just the dialogue that was perfectly time appropriate, it was the word choices in the paras and the way you described everything and the feelings and the scenes and just EVERYTHING was so time-era-esque that i rly thought my phone had sucked me into another realm. and SPEAKING of the dialogue that shit wasn’t dry in the slightest like the banter was PERFECT and even THAT was time-appropriate and just such a mind fuck because?? who uses the word shan’t?? and who the fuck can make the use of the word shan’t sexy?? and it was funny too like mayhaps i exhaled through my nose a little hard at this line

and SPEAKING of dialogue jesus FUCKING CHRISTS ALMIGHTY I JAYE YOU FOR MAKING HYUNJIN SO?? HOT?? AND RESPECTFUL?? AND SWEET?? I know it has been a wild ride for you and writer’s block has made it difficult for you to write stuff, but whenever you finish stuff you give us such incredible content. I will forever and always be in awe of your talent, you know that, and I’d honestly go through fire and water to prove that to you. Sometimes I wish you could see how crazy talented you are, but I know that can be tough. This man never fails to make me laugh, I know this is the only remark I have of him in my reblog but all of them were honestly so in character. His entire personality is top tier here and his comments made this angst more bearable lmao. Shoutout to my guy Tobias🥂

The small, private smile these two old lovers share is charged with sentiment and trepidation neither of them tries to conceal. 

What can I say other that I was absolutely stunned when I read this sentence. The emotion was radiating off my screen and I could perfectly picture this moment in my head. Beautiful.

And can I talk about Ethan purposely mistake Brian’s name for something else? This cheeky mans. It made me laugh a little because that is such a thing he would do, very capricorn of him. Even Tiffany could sense he did it on purpose, he isn’t slick lol!

“I’m doing my best.” Ethan’s weak, stilted smile offers no reassurance as the silent horrors of his struggle gnaw at Tiffany. “It has to suffice.”

I am really not trying to exaggerate here, but I had to stop reading for a bit and screamed in my pillow bc I was feeling all kinds of emotions. The way I truly felt for him here. I know what he did in this AU was not right but this man literally went to rehab twice AND therapy? That pained me, esp the fact that he admits that he is doing his best and that has to do. This truly did tear me up.

That sadness was short lived, because I said YES out loud when I read miss T saying she and Brian separated. You know I am a cautious witch when it comes to angst, but this gave me some hope.

Like a sinner seeking repentance, he drops to his knees, resting his forehead against her belly with hungry, penitent lips planting fervent kisses wherever they reach.

HOWEVER, you see, when I read stuff like this I am happy bc you are providing us with some smutty stuff but then I remember it is an angst AU and I am still traumatised from the first fic of the HWY AU where we had the exact same thing but I found myself sobbing uncontrollably at the end🤡 Gladly you chose to grant me some happiness and I got that happy ending here skdkdkdk.

Maybe moving on is accepting that some things are meant to be broken, and some other are worth fighting for until the very last breath. Maybe it’s learning to differentiate between the two.  

Lastly, an honourable mention to this part because it really stuck with me. Not only the way you worded it, but the way the message comes across is so important here. You played that out so well. You can clearly see this throughout your fic and that is what makes it so fitting to the story.

Hilde, you genius woman. It’s the end of an era for this AU and it was a wild ride, but we made it. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this with me and many others. I’ll cherish your talent forevermore.
