1) no, Beelzebub and Gabriel are not a straight couple. Nor is Crowley and Aziraphale a gay couple. 2) "it's Gabriel's and Beelz's fault that ineffable husbands didn't get their happy ending": no. It's their own damn fault for not communicating and Aziraphale's inability to accept Crowley as he is. Gabriel and Beelzebub put each other first. Y'all sound salty as hell cuz two people managed to work their relationship out and yours didn't work out. "But if they didn't get together---" y'all really saying shit like this??? Do you hear yourself? That's so sad. Wishing for the doom of one LGBTQ+ ship cuz the other fucked themselves over. THEY CAN BOTH CO-EXIST. And you know what? They will. Cuz Ineffable husbands is clearly canon, the story just wants time with them cuz they're the main characters, not like Beelz and Gabriel who were side characters so had their story summarized.

3) "that should have been ineffable husbands" no, cuz Crowley and Aziraphale aren't Gabriel and Beelzebub. They're different characters with different backgrounds, personalities, relationship structure, and different relationship dynamic in general. They'll get together in a way that fits THEM. And that way requires ups and downs that makes them finally understand that they're perfect for each other without the need for either of them to change.

4) Gabriel was such an asshole wish Crowley got his revenge and--- bla bla BLA : Crowley was happy for them. You hold a grudge over Gabriel that Crowley himself doesn't. Y'all worse than a literal demon. Smh.

Be happy for what we got and look forward to the future where ineffable husbands will certainly become canon and it'll be worth the wait. Don't tear down the LGBTQ+ presentation we got just cuz the main ship didn't get the limelight THIS TIME.

This is like…almost too literal for Selora tbh. It’s mostly speaking to the disconnect between her and most people around her. And, at the same time, her version of running away usually involves finding the highest place to climb to (roofs, rafters, attics, etc.) because up is the last place anyone looks 👀

Okay, I’m a very visual person and I pretty much make a Pinterest board for everything. So I’ll share some pics that I think would be most useful to help you visualize him! 💙🪼

^^ This is AI art so I’m not crediting the person who generated it lol. But a lot of the color inspiration and the “dark tide” title came from this pic. It was one of the first I saved to my board. I love the alien-esque aspect to him! And the fin ears hehe.

Okay, now these two photos are very dear to me. The first one is done by @ wizzylee on Insta. The second is by @ hel_7_7_7 also on Insta.

But these pics are from a novel by Emma Hamm’s “Whispers of the Deep” depicting Arges and Mira. I started reading this book after I started writing my fic because I had absolutely no clue how to write a merman romance. But let me tell you…I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK. There’s 3 more stand alone novels in the series and I already ordered the second book as soon as I finished the first. If you ever get the chance to read it you’ll probably notice similarities between my merman Arthur and Arges. He was wildly inspiring to me!! And he’s so fucking hot I mean just look at him🤭

Arges is more alien and serpent-like than Arthur because he’s not half human. But I still drew a lot of inspiration from the colors, his gills/fins, the hair, and the glowing bioluminescence!

These were some tail inspo pics! On the left by MerChrissi Tails and on the right I couldn’t find the artist/shop. But tbh I still can’t find a picture that exactly captures the colors/shape of his tail. But the one on the left is pretty much what I picture in my head :) 💙💜🩵

And of course, his eyes play a major part in the story. It was very hard to find pictures that captured what I had in mind. The pic on the left is technically a dragon eye, and the pic on the right is a siren eye. So I guess combining the two it would be the color and pupil shape!

Do you make your bed?: a vague attempt at flapping my sheets is made most days, but it's never neatly made.

Favorite number?: 7! I can't tell you why it just has always been that way. when I found out my sun sign is in my 7th house I had an "of course 😌" moment even though I don't really even know what that means but it feels right.

What's your job?: books! and data!

If you could go back to school, would you?: there was a time I seriously considered a masters so I could go more ham with using corpora to study trends in language, but I didn't. now I literally work with data and databases and analysis of that data, and books have words in them so 🤷‍♀️

Can you parallel park?: I don't know what I'm capable of (I got my full license a little over a decade ago and can legally go buy a car and drive it all by myself even though honestly I have no clue if I can even drive any more and I'd probably be a major hazard. I've never driven a car with a full license, not as a learner)

Do you think aliens are real?: with how impossibly massive the universe is? duh. as long as they stay away though pls and thank you.

So, I've been debating if I should make this post for a while. And I guess with the uptick in Joker out activity, here I am.

First, I don't feel like I have to but I want to just give a little bit of context to where I'm at. Second, this is probably going to sound like a lot of bullshit "it's not you, it's me" but that's because that's the truth, please 😅

Honestly it's not that deep. I got a little bit fed up with some common fandom takes because I changed. I realised I needed a break so I focused on other things and created some distance. Now I don't really feel a huge need to come back and participate in the public online part of the fandom. All this might change again at any time.

So, I want to clarify; "I got fed up with some fandom takes" does not mean I think whatever they are are wrong or problematic or that I hate people that agree with them. They're just not for me you know? at least not right now so I'll not engage with them. Easy. Y'all do and think whatever makes you happy! I've never seen any takes in this fandom that are actually a problem but I have seen a lot I don't agree with. Those are two very different things and I don't have a problem with anyone just because I don't agree with everything they say.

Anyway, I'm still here. I'm around. I lurk sometimes. I keep updated. I see the photos and the videos and I still die. I heard the Bluza snippet and tbh didn't really feel much but that's ok too, I still can't wait for the full version. I'm VERY excited for tour dates next week.

How many times would you guess you watched the first back to the future movie?

Since I only hopped on this time train towards the final third of the year lol: fully all the way through, at least 4! Did you create any bttf fanart or fanfic? If you did, what one(s) are you proudest of?

Yes I did !!! It is actually the most fan content I've ever made for a fandom since I was in... maybe junior high? So like YUH. Tbh, it's very difficult for me to find what you would call 'pride' in my art so ehh >_>; that being said, I do think that I had a lot of good IDEAS for Doctober (esp days 19 and 28), but my execution wasnt really the best. I would have liked to draw days 17 and 24 (+ time travel day) a little more properly too; like, I'm not as disappointed at how they turned out, but I still wish they were better and/or I could have given them more time. The ones I most actually-tried-and-dont-mind are days 7, 9, and 21 + under the sea dance day. (So many links was probably cheating but tbf I've kinda bent the rules for the past few questions so... whatevs lol). I've ALSOOO still been working on my godforsaken essay, it is 40 pages rn but even tho it's not done, I'm INSANELY proud of it Q_Q

How many times were you late for school this year?

None! B) For one thing I'm graduated lol, but also I'm typically early gang. I'm that person who'd sit in the classroom by myself for like 5 minutes before everyone else would show up LMBO ^^;

Star Wars/The Mandalorian; The Addams Family (1991); The Tale of Desperaux (2008); Cyberchase; & Clue (1985) -- Christopher Lloyd, havent rewatched the latter 3 since I was a kid and literally went :0 to learn he apparently was in them. Also Kings Quest (2015) which isn't a movie/show but I think it counts uwu

Stuart Little (1999) -- Michael J. Fox, which also rocked my world to discover O_O like hearing it now I'm like "yeah thats him alright" but as a kid I would never have been able to tell you that was the same guy from that time travel movie, despite watching both way too much LMBO

I binged both the entirety of Law and Order: SVU as well as Seinfeld this year w my sister; apparently Mary Steenburgen, Lea Thompson, & Casey Siemaszko (3-D) are in at least one episode of the former, while Elsa Raven (Clocktower Lady) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data) are apparently in a random episode of Seinfeld each. So like, technically I saw them, tho I don't distinctly remember it :'D Also, I have been making my way through Little House on the Prairie recently, which has Matt Clark (Chester the Bartender) in a few episodes !

Finally finally finally, I watched I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017), as well as the LOTR trilogy like. Twice? And they all have Elijah Wood of course >:3c

The year in general is definitely "Oh great, the atrocity channel!" LMBO (but when hasn't it been since like... 2020? 2016???). For me personally, I think it's either "I don't know if I could take that kind of rejection." or "Don't talk to anyone, don't touch anything, don't do anything, don't interact with anyone, and try not to look at anything." ^^;

hey there! i want you to know that i’ve never watched an episode of riverdale ever, the only thing i ever knew about it before tonight was that someone throws babies over a fire or something?? (saw it in one of those ‘whcih of these didn’t happen’ things)

i followed you for tsc stuff, but your posts about today’s finale made my head spin. i thought riverdale was a mainstream typical heterosexual show w/ bad scriptwriting tbh, based on the look of it? i’m ace so i’d seen ppl complain about jughead’s ace erasure, but i did not know literally anything else about this show? so your blog tonight deeply confused me, but in a fun way, so i decided to go to the tag and try and figure it out.

and, oh my word. never seen an ep of this thing but i’m sitting here with tears rolling down my face, i can’t stop laughing, i cannot believe they ended it like this, this is absolutely hilarious and iconic and what the hell levels of finale….. i feel for y’all and i’m happy for y’all and i kinda wish i’d watched this show before it ended.

also…… i must ask how it feels to be a part of two fandoms in whcih two ‘finales’ have both been extremely unbelievably chaotic and ended w/ a polycule to avoid ship wars in which the polycule breaks up at some point in said finale (if i’m understanding riverdale’s finale right?)……. as someone who loved qoaad but had no clue what was happening i cannot help but wonder what y’all must be thinking of this episode, it seems even crazier than thule and sebastian and janus and annabel from the edgar allen poe poem and your boyfriend literally selling his soul to his job but telling you two to be happy and😭😭

welcome to riverdale insanity. i hope your adventure has made you want to watch this show. i can try to explain it to you but i physically can't put this show into words (i can actually, they're "camp" and "metanarrative")

basically: riverdale is an intentionally batshit insane show which started out as a somewhat normal teen drama. most people, however, stopped watching after the crazy got turned up a notch and because of that most people still think it's a teen drama and the writing's just bad. but it's not bad writing! it's very very good writing! because every insane storyline is purpose!!!!! and that's why people love it. because they love their insane and gay show. somehow this is very hard for the average person to wrap their heads around.

i love riverdale to death. it is truly, genuinely, the only show of it's kind. it's outlandish and crazy and hilarious and beautiful. there's literally no other show willing to be as insane as riverdale was and it's definitely one of my favourite shows ever made because of that. this quote from a recent interview with some of the actors says it best:

as for the comparison quoaad: i will say that i enjoyed this finale... about the same amount as queen? i didn't like some parts of it but more for general storytelling reasons (i don't want to know the exact fates of every single character at any cost and that's literally all this finale was lol).

the main difference here is that the dark artifices is a serious (wel.. serious-adjacent) ya fantasy series but riverdale is a show that's centered around outlandish, comedic and dramatic storylines. a crazy finale didn't really fit TDA, while obviously, a crazy-ish finale did fit riverdale for the aforementioned reasons (i say "crazy-ish" because i would say this episode is like. maybe #70 on the most insane riverdale episodes list? believe it or not this was very normal by riverdale standards).

and yes the polyamory ending is always ICONIC. they really kierarktina'd us and i'm delighted. more of this please!

also, can i just say, the fact that you thought riverdale was a straight show is unbelievably funny and i KNOW most people think of it that way but you have to know that genuinely, without lying, 80-90% of the characters are canonically bisexual. and virtually all the other ones are gay. all of the main characters are gay/bi (except jughead, though that one's still a little debatable?). most of the main characters' parents are gay/bi. homophobic villains all end up being gay in the end. random background will make one on-screen appearance just to say they're gay and then leave. every single one of cheryls ancestors was a lesbian. i don't have the time to count but think riverdale has somewhere around 30-50 confirmed queer characters. and yes i do wish that they had given is a crumb of ace or trans rep but this is not my story this is one insane gay person's 20 year revenge plan and who am i to judge.

3. what work are you the most proud of?

this one is super hard, because i wouldn't consider myself 'proud' of a lot of my work. im not happy with my writing a lot of the time, so i hardly ever go back and reread my own works and such, sometimes i don't even like looking at comments when they come through lmao, it's definitely something i need to work on. idk if we're only doing 2023 for this question, but if not, an all time pride of mine is brother in the river. something about it makes me really happy, i'm so proud of the interactions and raph's internal monologue. as for 2023, i love deaf words on unwilling ears, it's such a niche book and a tiny fandom but the emotion in that fic is so OUGH

17. your favourite character to write this year?

this is also super tricky as i've written soo many characters lol. i really enjoy characters with lots of depth - i like writing them from outsider perspectives to try and clue in what makes their brain tick. hobie from atsv is like this, as well as yelena from black widow, link, and jason todd!

28. favourite work i wrote this year?

its definitely not one i'd consider myself the most PROUD of, but it's very self indulgent and as a result one i really like double cross, which is the most funny/traumatic thing you'll ever read, depending if you know the beefleaf spoiler. i also really enjoyed writing kindergarten crush, even if i wouldn't consider it particularly good writing, it was sweet and happy and tbh i think the trigun fandom needed that

29. favourite passage i wrote this year?

i've written SO MANY words this year so trying to pick my favourite is so hard. i'm looking at my more recent stuff... from what i've sorted through it might have to be from the memory hurts (but does me no harm):

The fawn rises from himself on unsteady legs, as unsure as a newborn, and blinks at his surroundings. His glistening little nose twitches, but he does not need to breathe anymore. He stares at Qingxuan for a moment, black eyes incomprehensible.  He Xuan moves a little towards him, where the animal can see the calamity, and his neck snaps forward at the motion. Most animals are wary of the calamities on an instinctual, base level. The unconscious knowledge that they are wrong to exist the way they do. The fawn doesn’t shrink back or run, though. He just stares. He recognises his kin, in the cold and the unbreathing and the painless.

idk something about it is so ahhh and i think i matched the visuals to the vibes that this fic is loosely based off, which is abstract (psychopomp) by hozier. i think it just captures the overall tone of the fic very well, in a way that i'm super happy with!

And the last member of Team Basmati is here! Smoosh is kinda deadpan most of the time, usually no-nonsense with a lot of things and delivers potential jokes in the same tone as anything else. She's got a good heart tho, and even though she's not as dutiful as her younger brother Lian, she does what's right when she needs to.

Figured including a satchel would make for a good equivalent to a Goodra's shell without making it a backpack, as you can tell a backpack would probably not be the best idea for Smoosh here given my other design decisions, plus River's already got one as a result of being part of the Ginkgo Guild. And I guess it's time to stop beating around the bush, yes, Smoosh is an amputee. I don't know why that is tbh, like I know the Watsonian in-universe reason (let's just say relations between her and the equivalent of the Noble Kleavor are shaky, no malice between either of them but he's pretty unavoidably tied to the incident), but no clue as to the Doylist irl reasoning. Maybe because Goomy has no arms? I know I made a similar decision with the human version of Lucah's Wooper back in the day (of course his nickname was literally Mr. No Arms so it would be weird to give him some). And yet Sliggoo and Goodra get arms, and I can't actually remember if I caught her in-game counterpart as a Goomy or a Sliggoo... Also I did not realize this pic and the art of Cinna (the similarly disarmed filmmaker and Gym Leader for a future Fakemon region) would be made so close together in my initial planning, hehe, just a random happenstance of my art queue being silly.

pq posting before i go to bed! a shorter session (3 hours) but it was nice and i'm happy to say that i finished you in wonderland!

THIS WAS SO FUNNY... honestly i don't think i give enough credit to akihiko and mitsuru's dynamic they're literally so good i really enjoy how well they know each other but also they're like.. a constant in each other's life and i do enjoy their interactions a lot even if i never vocalize it...

wow yosuke, who would've thought that you two are partners, this guy literally introduced himself as your wife /s (i kinda regret naming souji yosuke wifey but im glad i wrote the y in lowercase bc otherwise i wouldn't be able to tell their dialogue apart 💀

ok unfortunately i can't say that im going to go AS INSANE as i did last time when i was spitballing in the tags for the second pq posting just because i feel like i aired out most of my "AAAA WHO IS ZEN AND REI??" there but.

i do have to say that i'm very glad i'm at the point where p3 and p4's casts are able to interact! i can't tell if it's because the writing feels like it shines a little bit better here rather than the solo casts (sometimes i roll my eyes at how junpei and akihiko are with some of the traits the writers play up), or if it's because i'm a guy who's very endeared by crossovers and interactions from characters who didn't exist in the original source material.

i had a lot of times where i was writing things down in my notes software during the crossover segments and im just?? really endeared and creatively inspired by it, to be honest. i really like this aspect of pq.

i think something that catches my interest with zen and rei at the moment is the difference in how they're.. regaining their memories. like... it's interesting to me that zen is able to get some of his memories back from the stuffed rabbit marked with "niko," but rei doesn't. i don't really know how much i can speculate off of this atm (i feel like this is something i'd get more info on when i progress through the second labyrinth, or it's something i'm missing out on because i can't use intertextuality to piece things together. i dont know shit about alice in wonderland.)

like it does make me think that maybe these two are like.. separate entities in that respect (rather than a shared one? but i could be wrong, and i welcome that!). but also there's something that makes my brain go "AAA" about how adamant zen is about wanting to protect rei despite not having any memories, because my brains like "WELL WHAT IF ZEN'S TRUE IDENTITIES AND MEMORIES ARE ACTUALLY THE OPPOSITE, AND DON'T WANT GOOD THINGS FOR REI." poorly phrased but like, it's about the irony, y'know.

i have no fucking clue what rei is supposed to be if we're going under the notion that they're two different things that have lost their memory (she is so head empty only food and its precious tbh). but like my brain just thinks that zen is just... going to end up being some awful incarnation or something like idk. there's something about persona characters with amnesia that make me raise my eyebrow... like just look at ryoji and marie and teddie...

and i guess as another thought on the matter, the way zen and rei work mechanically speaking does make me ponder a bit because like.. obviously, yeah, they can't equip a subpersona because they're... GESTURES. not persona users but FUCK, the way zen and rei have very distinct skillsets just make me wonder if those can allude to what they symbolize. like zen's skills are much more.. destructive and im just like (AIGIS VOICE) "YOU ARE DANGEROUS."

anyways. i am very much invested in the identities of zen and rei but i am also glad that the crossover stuff is here too because i think the sillies will keep me inspired... and also im just happy to see yosuke... i really like yosuke even if i forget that i do a lot of the time..

last thought, after seeing souji talk and move, i think i'd definitely want to look into p4 side... because um. 🥴 i'm really simple guy. i need more minato in my life. (everyone rolls their eyes. i'm predictable!) i want to see minato move and talk. i want to think about him. he's my boyfriend. he's my wife. he's my universe. im being so cringe about him but I DONT THINK THIS IS A SURPRISE TO ANYONE... i like him a lot (NO SHIT, LIZZ). but!!! idk if this'll be something that i watch or play, it depends on what the NG+ functionality in this game is like...

today tumblr recommended me a post by a radfem blog. i still have no clue what radfems have to do with the content of that post (i mean, i do have a clue now that i finished writing and thought about this, unrelated to trans people tho i think any feminist could've posted that tbh but idk much about feminism anyway). but that content made me feel actually sick??? i wish i had could forget what i read. i can't blame it tho bc it was sort of a response (an excerpt of an academic text) of a question i had made myself (mentally) earlier bc i saw the tags of another post (unrelated). and now i kinda don't want to even bring it up because i don't want to think about it because it makes me wanna vomit (literally) but i wanna think about it at the same time and i wanna share but gosh i could never. give me 2 hours to think before i sleep and i'll get over the content. things are not black and white like that but argh it makes me sick the except it did have a valid point. the only time i felt as sick was when i stopped reading lolita on the library and never opened it up again bc it also made me super sick (and i never feel sick). i haven't felt like this in a loong time.
