1. What kinds of genres of music do you listen to? >> It’d be easier to name the genres I don’t listen to...
2. Are there any types of music that you don’t listen to at all? >> ...which would be bluegrass, polka, uh... noise... K-pop... yeah, that’s all I got right now. Honestly, K-pop is probably only here because I just haven’t gone to check out any songs, not because I actively don’t like the genre.
3. Do you own any band tees? >> Yeah, most of my t-shirts are band shirts.
4. Name some of your favorite male solo artists. >> Eddie Vedder, David Bowie, Steve Vai, Orville Peck, Sam Cooke.
5. Name some of your favorite female solo artists. >> Elle King, Sia, Beyoncé, Anita Baker, Céline Dion.
6. Name some of your favorite boy-bands. >> Okay, so are we talking boy bands, like Backstreet Boys and One Direction, or just bands with dudes in them? Because I don’t really listen to boy bands anymore (aside from songs that I remember from childhood), so.
7. Name some of your favorite all-girl bands. >> Hmm... I’m not sure I listen to any all-female bands. There’s some female-fronted bands in my library, but the rest of the members are dudes.
8. Name some of your favorite bands/groups in general. >> Oof. Here’s five: Zeal & Ardor, Coheed & Cambria, Pearl Jam, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Volbeat.
9. Do you sing in the shower? >> Sometimes, if a song I know the lyrics to is playing. I listen to music every time I shower, it helps distract my hell brain.
10. Do you sing along with the radio in the car? >> I don’t sing along in the car because Sparrow has a thing about people singing.
11. Do you listen to music while you are cooking, filling out surveys, or cleaning the house? >> Sometimes I listen to music while taking surveys, but I don’t do it often because I find it too distracting. I do listen to music while cleaning, or taking walks, or doing any other task that mostly involves my body more than my brain.
12. What’s the name of the song that you’re listening to right now, if any? What’s the name of the band/singer? >> I’m not listening to music.
13. What kinds of music do your parents listen to? Do you think that their music taste differs greatly? Whose music taste is better, in your opinion? >> I grew up listening to soul, R&B, gospel, that sort of thing. I still listen to that stuff because I enjoy it.
14. Do you ever listen to music without any words? >> Sure.
15. Are there any famous musicians that you’ve met? Are there any that you would like to meet? >> Yeah, I’ve met uhh... Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed & Cambria, and Sevendust multiple times, as well as Halestorm, Steve Vai, three-quarters of Volbeat (lead singer wasn’t feeling great so he left the venue early)... yeah, I think that’s it. I used to be really into that kind of thing, but I’m largely over it now; I actually think it would be cool to see Sparrow meet Hozier, because she’s not had that experience.
16. What was the first concert you’ve been to, if any? How about the last/most recent? Which, out of all of the concerts you’ve attended, was the best? >> First concert was Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed & Cambria (co-headliner tour), in Asbury Park, New Jersey, in April 2006. The last concert I went to was Hozier here in Grand Rapids, last year sometime. I think it was last year. :x My time sense is all fucked up. Anyway, I’ve been to way too many concerts to start naming one as the best one ever, that’s crazy. Most of the shows I’ve been to were awesome as fuck (there were a couple ehhhh... ones, and then there was one I was way too high to enjoy lmao, but usually I have a great time).
17. Do you have a favorite movie soundtrack? What is it? >> I have a favourite movie soundtrack composer, actually, and that’s Clint Mansell. Everything he does is just... AAAAAAAAA for me. I can always tell when he’s done a score because I can just feel the music in my bones, and then I look at the credits and I’m like “OH OF COURSE IT WAS YOU.”
18. Would you want to be a band groupie? Why or why not? >> I had a phase way back when where I was obsessed with groupie culture (from like the late sixties through the eighties) and if you’d asked me then, I’d have said yes. I’ve wised up by now and I definitely would not want that.
19. What is a band/singer you would like to see but haven’t gotten a chance to yet? >> Yeah, there’s a lot of bands and singers like that. But I’d have to be really picky nowadays about who I went to see, because I just can’t deal with most concert environments as well as I used to anymore.
20. Do you care more about the beat of the music you listen to, or the lyrics? >> I mean, when it comes to the first listen, it’s going to be the melody that catches me. If that doesn’t happen, then I’m not even going to bother looking at the lyrics, so...
21. Does anyone in one of your favorite bands play an unusual instrument? >> I listen to some prog bands, so there’s definitely some unusual instruments happening in at least some songs.
22. What are some of the songs that you listen to the most frequently? >> I don’t know, probably Master Boot Record and Zeal & Ardor tracks. I’m a bit obsessed right now.
23. Could you make a playlist of songs that describes your life? What kinds of playlists do you have made? >> I don’t think so. I’ve definitely tried in the past, but when you really start thinking about the vast array of experiences and feelings that make up a life, it becomes fuckin impossible.
24. Do you remember listening to music on CDs and cassettes, not just on the internet? >> Yeah. Definitely don’t miss it, gotta say.
25. What kind of music device do you use in order to listen to music? (iPod, MP3 Player, etc.) >> I use my phone or computer, with Spotify.
26. Is there anyone in your family who is a musician? >> ---
27. Would you ever consider a career in music? >> No. I love music, but as a consumer.
28. What is a song that would describe your current mood? Who is it by? >> I’m not really in any kind of mood. If you know a song about being vaguely tired, then that’s it.
29. Are there any musicians of the past that you really admire? >> Well, sure...
30. Do you listen to Top 40 type music? >> I don’t even know what’s on the Top 40, so... maybe? Probably not, though, I haven’t really gotten into any mainstream-popular artists recently that I can think of.
31. What musical instrument would you like to learn how to play? Have you ever played an instrument before/taken lessons? What was it? >> I don’t really care to learn any instruments. It’s not something I feel passionate about, not like how I feel about listening to music. I’ve taken bass guitar lessons before, in like... 2008 or so? IDK. Years are fake.
32. Do you enjoy watching musicals on DVD or sitting through them as plays? Which method do you prefer, and which is your favorite? >> I would love to watch musicals live, but I definitely cannot afford it. I’m fine watching recordings of them (or movie adaptations, in some cases). My favourite stage musical is Phantom of the Opera (I say “stage musical” because I also have a favourite movie musical, and that’s Repo! the Genetic Opera).
33. What was the worst concert you’ve ever attended before, and what made it the worst? >> Taste of Chaos at Nassau Coliseum. It was the worst because arena shows are just the worst, period. I was right up in front (my friends and I camped out overnight) and I just got repeatedly slammed against the barricade and crowd-surfers landed on my head multiple times, et cetera. I’m surprised I didn’t leave with actual injuries (was wondering if I was gonna need a neck brace by the end), but I did feel pretty damn shitty the next day.
34. Have you ever crowd-surfed during a show or been a part of a mosh pit? >> Nope.
35. Have you ever gotten into an altercation with a drunken concert fan before? What happened? >> Nah, everyone I’ve met at shows have been pretty cool, if not downright awesome. That’s one thing I always loved about going to concerts, I seemed to make new friends every time.
36. Have you ever dated someone who was a musician? >> No, but I’ve fucked a few.
37. What are some of your favorite music videos to watch? >> Oh, man, it’s getting late and while I could go ham on this question, I don’t have the time right now lol. I’ll just say that I love nineties-era music videos, and some from the aughts as well. I feel like those were the best years for music videos, but that might just be nostalgia (and the fact that I haven’t really seen as many videos from the 2010s). As far as recent artists are concerned, I think Orville Peck makes really evocative and moody (not necessarily moody like pensive or depressive. mood-y. mood-evoking) videos that I appreciate.
38. Have you ever made a lyric video on YouTube? >> No.
39. Have you ever recorded a cover song and posted it? What kind of feedback did you receive? >> No.
40. Is there an album cover design that you really admire? >> I’ve seen so many excellent album covers, I couldn’t even begin to address this.
41. What are some of the most overplayed songs right now, in your opinion? >> I wouldn’t know, I don’t listen to radio or anything.
42. Do you watch music awards shows on television? >> No.
43. Have you ever competed in any sort of singing contest before? >> No.
44. Have you ever tried to start your own band before? >> No.
45. What’s the name of a band/singer that you recently have discovered? >> Dreamcar (yet another Davey Havok side project, because he just can’t be tamed, apparently).
46. What are some annoying/weird/funny songs that have gotten stuck in your head before? >> Barbara Ann gets stuck in my head all the time, but that’s okay because it’s fun and I love it.
47. Are there any songs that actually make you cry? What are they, and who are they by? >> There are many songs that make me cry. We ain’t got time for a list like that.
48. Do you listen to any music in another language? >> Sure. Off the top of my head, I can think of fave songs in German, Swedish, Japanese, Indian, and Italian. [a-zebra-is-a-striped-horse]

Thanks to the lovely @bitsandbobsandstuff for taking the time to answer these! Get to know more about lovely Kris, go give her a follow and then show her some love!
These questions are from this list. You should check it out, there’s 50 questions all together and they’d be great to ask your favorite fic writer!
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fan-fiction?
Looking back, my first attempt at fanfic was probably when I was 11-years-old and I couldn’t wait for the next ‘Babysitters Club’ book to come out, so I wrote my own story. I think it featured Stacey McGill and horses. I really fucking wish I could find it… But honestly, I didn’t really understand the world of fanfiction until I joined Tumblr. So outside of those little forays when I was younger, I’d say it was last year when I realised it was a thing I could do and people might be interested, so let’s say my 30s.
2) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
When it comes to fanfic, I prefer Reader inserts. They feel more inclusive and frankly, even as a writer it can be easier to imagine myself in the shoes of the reader character (so I can understand their thoughts and feelings and motivations), if I don’t have a specific name attached to them.
5) When is your preferred time to write?
Either first thing in the morning (coffee and morning air are excellent inspiration) or Saturday afternoons.
6) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Constant reading. I’m that nerd at the bus stop or waiting at the movie theatre or walking down the street with my nose in a book. I also try to draw on real life experiences/ situations when I can, it gives stories more texture.
7) In your Safe With Me fic, what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?
I’m going to be cheeky and say it’s a tie – the dance scene in Chapter 8 and the trigger scene in Chapter 15. The realisations they both had within the few minutes of their dance together felt like such a great payoff for everything up until that point, and I loved imagining Bucky in that black suit (and I just love that song ‘Run to you’). The trigger scene was so much fun just to resurface and/ or create all Bucky’s memories, especially the ones with the Soldier…they were like mini-stories of their own.
8) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Nope. Everyone has a different vision and every story is unique for a reason.
9) Who is your favorite character to write for? Why?
Clearly, I’m such a sucker for Bucky Barnes. 😊 His character has been through so many things over his lifetime, you can take him in a hundred directions and they can still feel true to source material (both MCU and comics). He can be a battle-weary soldier or a sassy little shit, and it all links back to some iteration of his personality at some point in his life – whether pre-WW2, Winter Soldier days, or now. I’d like to branch out and try others (or maybe other fandoms) at some point, but I’m content with him for now.
11) How did you come up with the title for the Safe With Me?
I knew I wanted the title to be a line of dialogue, because I like the symmetry of finding titles inserted in a story, and I knew I wanted it to be something ‘safety’ related, since that was the theme of the story. In Chapter 3, Bucky gives the reader a little speech at the end, telling her he’ll do anything he needs to protect her, and after re-working that a little, I came up with the ‘you’re safe with me’ line, and that became the title!
12) How did you come up with the idea for Safe With Me?
I wanted to try a series for a long time, but was always so intimidated by the idea - I’m blown away by the writers on here who do so many series, the time it takes is nuts. For SWM, there were certain themes I personally wanted to find in a story - what it means to be safe, how sometimes evil people can live right next to you, the importance of mental health...all those concepts were used as foundations to the story and the colour was created around them. Sometimes things went in the direction I wanted, sometimes they took unexpected left turns as I was writing - I think you really have to be okay being led by your gut sometimes. Things like lemon drug or Tony’s tech or changing the purpose of the trigger words were random ideas that fell into place. My brain is a weird place to be sometimes.
14) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
I’ve thought about doing something else with ‘Bless me father’ (still the strangest, weirdest, dirtiest story I’ve written) maybe a prequel or sequel, but still mulling over ideas.
16) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
There are so many on Tumblr I love, but three in particular I would point out.
@a-splash-of-stucky: Elsa is a literal poet. The way she writes, the images she conjures and phrases she uses, are beyond gorgeous.
@justreadingfics: Ally can set up a scene like you wouldn’t believe. I am also in continual awe of someone who can write so beautifully when it’s not their first language.
@4luvofall: Cristina nails the dialogue every single time. Her characters are always a little sassy and a little funny, and I want to go drinking with them (and her). Outside of Tumblr, my favourite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and I would be happy to read Harry Potter every day for the rest of my life.
17) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
No stories, although sometimes I’ll read old dialogue or descriptions and roll my eyes a little! I think it’s important to read your old stuff and recognise how far you’ve come or how your style has changed.
18) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
I have a writing playlist that is mostly Sigur Ros and Sleeping at Last, with a heavy dose of movie soundtracks like Lord of the Rings. But sometimes, I put headphones in and just listen to silence.
19) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
I’ve gotten a little emotional at points, but never full on cried. I have sobbed like a baby while reading though, good lord.
20) Which part of your Safe With Me fic was the hardest to write?
I think the club scene in Chapter 12 was the hardest. The idea was to use the scenery and secondary characters and music to build the tension through the course of the night, until everything collapsed. Finding the right flow and making sure it didn’t feel too rushed was really hard, it took me a long time to work through.
21) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I tend to make an outline. For one-shots, it’s never long – just listing out the key points and scenes I want to hit. For SWM it was long – the outline was more than 15,000 words. Admittedly, I’m somewhat Type A, so I need structure to function. 😊
23) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Probably my first Stucky story, ‘The language of a kiss’. I was hesitant to post it – it wasn’t long after I read ‘Not easily conquered’ which was one of the most mind-blowing literary experiences of my life. I love the story and have gotten lovely comments on it, but I think AO3 tends to be a better place for Stucky stories, Tumblr leans more toward Reader insert.
25) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Yes! The reader for ‘Safe with me’ was based heavily on yours truly! Most of her dialogue came very easy because it’s how I speak in real life (full of F-bombs and insults that rarely make sense). Some of Bucky’s dialogue and sass was based on my husband, the way those two bickered in the story was pretty close to real life.
26) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
Some of the compliments I’ve received for ‘Safe with me’ have been genuinely unbelievable. Several people have said the story inspired them to write again, which I’m so excited to hear. The biggest compliment though, was probably someone telling me the story helped ease them through a depressive episode in their life. That hit particularly close to home and I can’t express how happy I was to hear that.
29) Do people know you write fan-fiction?
My husband and a few close friends. The first time I told my best friend, who is not remotely into fandom, I gave her ‘Safe with me’ at chapter 12 and she read the entire thing overnight and by 8a the next morning I was getting texts saying “are you awake and if so are you writing because you can’t do this to me.” Hearing someone with no interest in Marvel say that was pretty fun.
30) What’s you favorite minor character you’ve written?
Definitely Riz in ‘Safe with me’. I picture him hanging out in his little kiosk in downtown Manhattan, playing Candy Crush and watching the world go by. He has to have some great stories.
31) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Deadlines! I work so much better under pressure. If I ever had to write a thesis, I would wait until two days before it’s due.
33) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
I think it was the ‘Worth Fighting For’ series by @serzhantkris. The plot was based on Mulan, and followed the reader who took her brother’s place in the army during WW2 - she went though basic and got deployed and captured as part of the 107th. She was a feisty and amazing character, and I’m always a sucker for 1940s Bucky. The story is broken out across the three Captain America movies and it is seriously breathtaking – sweet, cheeky, full of action, and completely heartbreaking.
34) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
I think I’m going with angst. I like being able to dig into something and maybe cause a little pain in the process. 😉

How Could You ...
Klaus/ Liz
A/N: 2 out of 3 fanfics done this week! I’m so proud of myself and I hope you enjoyed the last one. This fic was inspired by a certain song which I will not say for a particular reason :) *Answer is at the bottom* Enjoy!!!
WARNING: This has mentions of cheating in here so if you have personal experience or this subject bother’s you I’d advise you not to read.
Summary: Klaus cancels yet another date to which Liz finds out the dirty truth. Can he fix what’s now broken?
Unhappy Ending
It was a beautiful day in Gedolune. Classes weren’t being held today in due of the nice weather. Students sat in the courtyard enjoying the beautiful weather. Couples cuddled close together by the lake opting for a date.
Everyone was enjoying the weather all but Liz. She stayed inside looking at her magical creature’s textbook reading the same sentence for 15 minutes. Klaus and her were supposed to go out into town today for a date. But only moments ago she received a magic note from him saying he was going to have to cancel due to prefect work. This was the eleventh date he’s canceled in a row.
Liz sat up in bed and closed the book. She gripped the pendant Klaus had given her during her trial to protect her. “Klaus …” She whispered and tears began to fall down her ivory cheeks. At the same time Amelia came into the room with their friend Chloe.
“Liz what’s wrong.” Liz quickly whipped her tears away and shot her a smile.
“Nothing why do you ask.” Liz said trying to sound cheery as normal.
“You expect me to believe that? Your eyes are red and swollen, and your cheeks are stained with tears?” Amelia then took a seat on the bed next to her. “Now talk.”
“Well … Klaus canceled our date again so he could do his work.” She pressed her lips hard together.
“Wait isn’t this the fourth dates he’s canceled?”
“Eleventh … actually.”
Chole who had been looking around came over to her and looked at her. “Are you sure he isn’t cheating you?”
Klaus would never be unfaithful to me, would he? She continued to cry while Amelia and Chole comforted her.
“Well we don’t have any proof that he’s cheating on her.” Amelia started out when suddenly something inside Liz snapped. She was so sick and tired of everyone treating her like and idiotic child, she was tired of making mistakes. Liz had watched so many people walk out of her life before? What was stopping him now? Maybe he found someone else. Someone prettier, smarter, and better at magic than she was.
“I honestly don’t know what to think anymore.” Liz sighed she realized there was no use sitting around acting all depressed. It was a day off from classes. A day of relaxation.
Liz suddenly stood up and went over to her closet to grab her flats. When she turned to look back at the two her tears were long gone.
“How about we go into town for a little girl’s day then? Klaus is busy and I don’t want to waste a perfect day on what could have been.” Liz said with smile
“I like your way of thinking.” Amelia said and with that the three girls headed to town.
They went to multiple clothing and jewelry stores. They all even found dresses for the upcoming dance taking place next month.
“All this walking around is making me hungry wanna grab a bite to eat?” Amelia suggested to the group
“I couldn’t agree more.” Liz replied with a smile
“The two of you always think of nothing but your stomachs.” Chole said and suddenly they all burst out into laughter. They decided to hit the beautiful French themed café at the end of the block when Amelia stopped in her tracks.
“Amelia what’s the matter?” Liz asked. She didn’t respond but only pointed towards the café in utter disbelief.
Liz followed her finger and her heart dropped in her chest. There she saw Klaus on the outdoor patio of the café sitting next to a beautiful girl with dark brown hair and mesmerizing blue eyes and sharp jaw line. She looked as though she belonged on the cover of a magazine.
While Liz and her friends watched them across the street. Liz could see his arm wrapped around her and he was feeding her a piece of chocolate mousse. She giggled at the gestor and after accepting the dessert and swallowing. She did the same to him.
Klaus had a gentle smile on his face and suddenly the two of them kissed discreetly. That’s all it took for all the sweetness and kindness to drain from her body. Her heart shattered on the spot. Tears overflowed down her cheeks. She collapsed on the ground sobbing.
Amelia turned and knelled down to comfort her best friend in her time of need.
The girl Klaus was with her name was Emma Silverstone. She came to the academy two weeks ago and Klaus had been the one to show her around. She found she adored his personality. Once she gets her mind on something she takes it for hers. And nobody ever says no to her.
“Klaus is so dead! When I get my hands on him so help me god!” Amelia said with a threatening look on her face as she prepared to go punch some sense into him.
“Trust me Amelia you don’t want to go over there.” Chloe said
“Why shouldn’t I, he deserves everything he gets from here on out!”
“Oh, trust me I have better way of doing this.” She smiled wickedly
“How so?”
“Now I have a plan and I want the two of you to play along.”
After the two listened closely to every word and detail Chloe spoke a dark expression appeared on Liz’s face. Klaus was going to pay for crushing her heart, and she was going to make sure of it. She put on her brave face and agreed with everything Chloe said. Right when Liz turned to walk away she could have sworn up and down that Emma looked at her with a nasty look plastered on her face.
Liz woke up the next day and attended her classes as normal and then made her usual run by Klaus’ office. She looked at the door and took a deep breath. She couldn’t screw this up no matter what.
She stood out the door for a few minutes before finding the courage to face her boyfriend. She then lightly tapped her knuckles on the door.
“Come in.” Klaus called, Liz then opened the door and stepped in. She set her bag in the nearby chair. Klaus glanced up briefly from his papers.
“Sorry I couldn’t keep our date yesterday Randy I had a lot to get done.” Klaus said.
She couldn’t believe he was going to sit here and lie to her face. Fine then she thought if he was going to lie then she might as well do the same but only better.
“Oh no its fine I understand how busy you are.” Liz said walking over to his chair. She pulled his chair out from under the desk. She came around in front of him and sat on his lap with both legs on either side of him. She then wrapped her arms around his neck. She felt him tense up.
“Well aren’t you a little bold today?” Klaus said smirking at her trying to hide his shame.
“No, I just missed you.” Liz said then kissed him passionately. Taking Klaus by surprise she noticed his mouth open slightly and used the opportunity to slip her tongue in. Chloe was a genius.
She told Liz to torcher him and make him feel guilty for everything on his own. Teasing him, flirting, and kissing him like no tomorrow to make him realize the mistake he made.
She pulled away and looked into his eyes but in the corner if her eye she noticed a slightly pink stain on his collar.
“What’s this?” She felt Klaus tense up more than he had before. “This looks like lipstick and if it is.” She paused and traced his jawline with her figure. “It’s certainly not my shade of pink.”
“N-no it’s from a potion I made earlier in one of my classes today that’s all.”
“Ah, I see.” Liz giggled she watched as he squirmed slightly under her. “Well do be more cautious next time, I have to go meet up with Amelia. I promised I would help her study for her next test.” She got off Klaus and kissed him deeply again. “Bye.”
With that she collected her bag and left out of the room. Klaus let out a huge sigh of relief that she hadn’t know. He didn’t know what to do if she found out he was seeing Emma as well. Klaus chuckled and shook the thought from his head thinking she never would. But little did he know how wrong he truly was.
As Liz turned the corner down the hall. She was furious. He lied right to her face. She knew imminently that it was lipstick she saw Emma wearing it on campus today. Did she mean nothing to him anymore? A single tear slipped from her eye as she continued to her dorm.
Chloe came to our room later on that night and told us how she saw Emma and Klaus’ rendezvouses while class was still in session before Liz showed up to his office. Chloe had been following Klaus around all day so she could get as much dirt on him as she could.
Amelia and Liz listened to Chloe as she told them about all the things she saw them doing. She told them Emma had him pressed flat against the desk in the library while she aggressively kissed his neck. Then she saw them kissing and cuddling in the courtyard.
“Klaus will pay if it’s the last thing I do.” Chloe spoke. “Liz, I’m so sorry.”
“I’m sorry I ever loved him.” Liz said and she walked over to her bed and buried herself in the safe cocoon of her sheets. Let the pain of heartbreak take over.
The next day after Liz came to his office she leaned down to kiss his neck just as he done to Emma. She then smelled cheap perfume that lingered on his clothes.
“Why do you smell like a grandma?” Liz said commentating on the perfume.
“Oh um … I was helping a student today.” Klaus said a little uncomfortable
“I see.” Liz smiled and pressed a tender kiss to his neck. “Your so kind Klaus that’s one of the things I loved about you.”
Klaus didn’t understand how Liz became so bold overnight but something about the sentence she spoke seemed off to him. But all he could think of were her kisses along his neck.
After she left. The guilt was starting to slowly seep in. He was conflicted in that one moment and Klaus ran his hands across his face and Emma soon came in. Emma draped herself across him and softly spoke in his ear. “You, don’t need a nobody like her. “He took one look at her and knew this wasn’t what he wanted. He got up and stormed out of the office leaving Emma by herself.
When Liz arrived near the prefect’s office Liz heard the sound of glass break followed by shouting. The door opened and Liz hid behind a nearby pillar. Emma then came out with tears streaming down her face. She waited awhile before slowly entering the room.
“What happened here?” Liz asked she saw a broken wine glass on the floor. She walked over to him and ran her hand down his chest noticing the stain from red wine.
“Well I’m not quite sure to be honest.” Klaus said and pushed his hands through his hair.
“Are you okay?” Liz could see the trouble in his eyes. Even if he didn’t love her anymore she still loved him with all her heart.
“No, listen could you go ack to the dorm I have a lot on my mind and I need to sort some things out.”
“Oh of course.” Liz said and looked down. She couldn’t understand what they were arguing about but she didn’t dare ask. She didn’t want Klaus to know she knew that he was cheating so she left it alone.
She turned to leave and suddenly Klaus grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him. He grabbed her chin and kissed her gently. Liz had mixed feelings about it. She pulled away and grabbed her bag and left.
She tomorrow she had to end it. Did he not understand he was slowly killing her heart bit by bit? No matter how bad she wanted to keep him she knew he was no longer hers.
Klaus sat in the chair in his room. The fight Emma and he had didn’t not end well. Klaus had called it off. She was furious and said some nasty things about Liz. That set him on edge. Before he could say anything, back Emma threw the wine glass she was drinking from to the floor with all her might causing wine to end up on his shirt.
Klaus knew he was doing the right thing. But hoped with all his heart Liz would never find out.
Finally, the day arrived. Liz could barely manage to get herself out of bed. She slowly but surely walked towards the prefect’s office Chloe and Amelia came up to her.
“Are you sure you can do this?” Amelia said with concern.
“No, but I can’t live my life with him pretending I don’t know. I’m going to do it quickly. In and out.” Liz said then Chloe handed her the envelop, Liz opened it and put her pendant into it along with the letter she poured her heart into.
She couldn’t sleep last night with all the thoughts of Klaus running through her mind. She decided to write them down to help calm her thoughts to help her sleep. What was supposed to be a stress reliver turned into a goodbye note to her lover.
Liz walked up to the door and placed her head on the surface. She had some amazing memorize with Klaus that she would cherish forever.
She knocked on the door for the last time. She heard the man she loved so dearly respond from the other side.
“Come in.”
As soon as Liz walked in she went right over to him and looked in his eyes as tears started to fall. He imminently noticed her pendant was missing. He was the only one to ever notice the smallest of details about her even the changes.
“Liz why aren’t you wearing your pendant? Why are you crying?” He reached out whip her tears away but she stepped away before he could.
“I love you Klaus with all my heart. But seeing you deceive and lie to me breaks my heart. I hope your happier with her then you were with me.” She saw Klaus face take on a look of surprise. He knew that she knew he cheated on her. “This is goodbye.” She kissed him one last time and threw the envelope on his desk and stormed out.
“Liz wait…!” His words were cut off by the door slamming shut.
Even after all that happened she still loved him and she realized no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t forget him in a million years.
Klaus stared at the envelope on his desk he hesitated about opening it. He didn’t know what he would find. But he reached forward and opened it. He pulled everything out. The first thing that captured his eye was the pendant he gave her. He held it in his hand and he grazed his thumb over the design.
He remembered the day he gave this to her. He wanted to protect her with all his heart and he still did. A strange feeling was building in his chest.
He then noticed a neatly folded note and he instantly recognized Liz’s hand writing. It read:
Dear Klaus,
I know. I know everything. Your kisses your affection and love where all beautiful lies. Its over I can’t be with you knowing all of this. I gave you several chances to tell me the truth and you didn’t. I love you Klaus. I love you more than you realized. The moment we meet was the best day of my life and making you happy was all I could think about. If that’s with Emma then I will let you go. Your smile is engraved permanently in my mind along with your touch and taste. I won’t ever love anyone the way I loved you. Please be happy Klaus. I love you.
-Liz Hart
At this point Klaus was in tears. He didn’t mean to hurt Liz. She was the only girl for him. Emma meant nothing to him. If it meant losing Liz forever he was better off about her. He then grabbed his cloak and ran out of the prefect’s office as fast as he could go.
He happened to run into Amelia and Chloe talking while he was on his search for Liz. He ran up to them and watched as their faces turn to disgust.
“Have the two of you seen Liz?”
“You have some nerve…!” Chole snapped
“Look I don’t have time for this!!!”
“You already ripped her heart out Klaus and shattered it I don’t think she wants to see you right now! WHY DON’T YOU RUN BACK TO EMMA AND JUST FORGET ABOUT LIZ!
“NO! DAMMIT!” After he shouted the three of them became silent until Amelia spoke up softly.
“You really hurt her Klaus.”
“I know but after getting that note and seeing the hurt look on her face … I messed up big time and I regret everything. Liz doesn’t deserve this.
“So that means?”
“I left Emma, I love Liz more than I released I made a mistake. If anyone should feel hurt it’s me. Please tell me where she is. I know I don’t deserve her after everything but let me try to be the man she needs me to be for her.”
Chloe and Amelia exchanged brief glances. They could tell how serious Klaus was.
“She’s at the spring in the northern woods.” Chloe said
“Thank you, you won’t regret it.” With those words Klaus took off at a full-on sprint through the woods.
Klaus still loved her and she still loved him. But was it enough to get her back?
* I’m sorry for the cliff hanger but there’s a good reason for it! So, I want to make 2 endings to this a happy ending and an unhappy ending. I quoted a song 3 times and whoever can figure out the name of the song is and who sings it I will be letting that person pick which ending comes out first. This is a little difficult so you’re going to have to really look I’m not so sure about how this turned out I would appreciate some feedback. Thank you for reading! *

Productivity, Vegetarianism, Thrift Stores | March Goals Update
Hey People of Earth!
(So if you haven’t noticed, in my Doing the Write Thing/Outlannis updates, I don’t say ‘hey people of earth’ because it’s kind of a theme I don’t know why anyway, so typing that out felt real nice, also look at my best friend mocking me:)
(I have these conversations all the time with her where I ask her to write a first sentence to me, then explain in detail what’s happening in the scene, and while doing that come up with the first sentence and end with a giant OH THANKS I GOT IT even though she’s only like uh and yeah and sure and okay. Honestly, I don’t know how she finds the patience to deal with me sometimes...)
Today I wanted to write up my March goals update, so here we are!
I know the month isn’t technically over, buuuuut I wanted to get this up earlier rather than much later since the end of the week is looking to be a bit busy for me.
March was a great month, honestly. January and February to date were the worst months of my life (sighhhh), so March was really sweet to not be shitty. I really appreciated March this year. Thanks March. (January and February are always shitty for me because of the mental health, and last year March was pretty bad too, so this was a really great change.)
So let’s get onto the goals, shall we?
1. Hit 20k words in FOSTERED #5
You know, not only did I hit 20k, I hit 38k, and by the end of the night, I will for sure have gotten to 40k so that’s just incredible.
I started my Doing the Write Thing writing updates, which in short, document my small daily goal of writing 250 words a day. Clearly, I wrote way more than 250 words a day, and I can’t even begin to express how insane that is.
After leaving such a terrible period of my life (throwing major shade at Jan+Feb), I knew I wanted to change something in my writing habits. And I don’t really know what happened... Something switched on in my brain and gave me the motivation I was lacking for a straight year. This feels so good. I haven’t been this proud of myself in a looooong time...
Okay, angsty ball of angst.
2. Read another book yo
YAY! I did this! So technically, I haven’t been reading, I’ve been listening, but I still 100% count this as reading. I picked up Alexandra Bracken’s The Darkest Minds on Audible last month, and enjoyed it SO much this time around. I’ve read the book on two other occasions, so this was my third time in, and the experience was just so amazing because of the actual audiobook. If you have a favourite book that you haven’t listened to, I would highly recommend doing so.
The Darkest Minds series inspired me to write the FOSTERED series (*cough* duh *cough* *starts hacking*), so getting back into the story was such an amazing, amazing experience.
Also, every time I get a new monthly Audible credit, I flip my shit and start dancing. Received mine in the middle of watching Bates Motel last night and my life was made.
This month, I bought Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken (TDM #2), and YES JUDE IS IN THIS BOOK YESSSSS.
I’m no longer really interested in YA dystopian or anything other than contemporary (doesn’t mean I’m not open to reading them if you guys have recs), but this series will pretty much always have a huge place in my heart.
So. Good.
(AND THE SHORT STORIES ARE EVEN BLOODY BETTER.)
3. Enjoy the hell out of Ed’s new album, and Dylan in 13 Reasons Why (AKA Dylan Minnette from The Narwhals, my favourite band ever, thanks for letting me have that fangirl moment you’re the best moving on.)
You know I enjoyed the hell out of Ed’s new album. Seriously. And I’m still enjoying the hell out of Ed’s new album. I even scored tickets to his show in July, and I’m out of my mind stoked to see his ginger hair in person again. lol that sounded so creepy Rachel, why.
And 13 Reasons Why actually has not come out yet which is why I’ve been debating doing this update later, but I’ll update you on the show once I get there. Just to put it out there, I actually am not a fan of the book, but still think it’s really important to support Dylan (who plays the main character). Hence, why I’m watching the show even though I’m not keen on the way it portrays suicide. Just want to get that out there. Obviously no hate, just want to be honest with you guys!
4. Map out more of THE WORDS THAT BIND US
I almost didn’t complete this. Honestly this is a bit of a half win because I really didn’t do much besides name a couple characters and come up with a small plot point. Not too concerned with this book as of now, and it’s just hangin’ out in the planning stages. I’m actually seriously considering writing SIXTEEN CENTS before this book which is insane since that book and I have a love-hate relationship...
5. Finish ALANNIS’ (the spinoff) scene list
Murdered this goal.
6. Learn a new song on the guitar.
Not only did I learn one song, I learned three, and perfected The Woods by Daughter (to the actual recording), perfected the chorus of Shallows by Daughter, and FINALLY figured out the correct fingering for a chord in Smother by Daughter (which is probably my biggest accomplishment of the month, lol). On top of that, I learned the beginning of Albert’s Vision Of Division solo (The Strokes), second guitar in Misguided Ghosts by Paramore, and all of How Would You Feel (Paean) by Ed Sheeran.
7. Start an outline for ALANNIS.
Not only did I start the outline, I almost completed the outline. I got a LOT of this done which is so important since it’s my next writing project... I’m really happy with myself over this! So stoked to write this story.
Okay so that’s it! I hope you enjoyed! I completed all of my goals, which is amazing!
Here are my goals for April:
1. Hit 60k in FOSTERED #5
2. Read a book yo.
3. Finish ALANNIS’ outline
4. Upload a YouTube video or at least make the music dude bro fam
5. Figure out more stuff for TWTBU
6. Eat a fuckton of vegetables
So this is a personal goal of mine... I kind of really want to make the switch to vegetarianism (and maybe at one point veganism, which might not be all that complicated since the brother is vegan) because of a lot of reasons. I don’t actually think I can make the switch this year because I take a cooking class at school and I really don’t know how that’d work (though I will probably ask). For now, I want to cut back on meat products, and then switch over in the summer. (Cooking class isn’t a problem next year since I’m not taking it.) Obviously, this is a long-term goal that can’t happen overnight, but for now I’m going to do what I can! Not entirely sure when I can do this, but it’s something I’d like to do. All tips are seriously welcome, lol.
In terms of actual conservation in life, I’ve done a great job at cutting out fast fashion products. I don’t actually buy new clothes anymore. I always try to get my stuff at Value Village. The last new thing I bought was a band tee, but other than that, most of the clothes I actually wear are second-hand.
(ALSO: you save so much money when you shop at thrift stores. I always get the best shoes there... Seriously, got a GREAT pair of Converse for eight bucks... I made my patch jacket entirely out of stuff I got from Value Village, including the fabric for the patches. HIGHLY recommend checking out your thrift store before going out to the mall. Basically, if you see me in real life, almost all of the things I wear are from second-hand stores, and if they aren't, they’ve either been bought in the past, or gifted to me. I also try to buy second-hand books there, or at other indie bookstores.)
7. Start mapping out ALANNIS #2, which as of now might be called Bird Strike.
Okay, I think that’s it... I hope you enjoyed this post! Super excited to see how next month goes... We’ll see...
See you in the next one. ;)
