Wow...easily the most inspiring yet most heartbreakingly simple yet complicated picture I've ever seen! To me, this picture symbolizes how some parents can do things they say are to "protect" their children, yet they really just give their children a prison...a prison from life. It also symbolizes how the children wait for so long to be finally freed from said prison, the whole "I can't wait till I'm grown and move out" thing that a lot of people in my generation can relate to. This picture at the same time emits the ambition and desire the imprisoned child shows to be freed into a world they where they can live their dreams of being free. One may notice the many footsteps headed away from the prison but never any going back...you may not notice the finally freed child in question either, but you will notice that they are no where to be found, neither parent nor child is found in this picture because the family that once was has been torn apart due to the overbearing and unnecessary containment of the child who is no longer with us because the parent was too selfish to realize that their methods weren't working. All the child wanted to do was learn about life, but "you're not ready for life" says the parent "you don't know any better"...well if that's how you feel about the child you raised, why don't you think about what you could do as a parent to get your child "ready for life" so that they do know better. Instead of keeping the world from them give them pieces of the world and watch and #listen to what they do with this knew knowledge. Teach your children, instead of withdrawing information from them. Don't forget that you were a child once too, think about how you would feel if you were in their shoes. If you don't well prepare yourself to lose a piece of you because once they've had enough of not enough and are fed up with too much, they will leave whether eiher of you are ready or not. THIS is where the drug addicts, the strippers, the protitutes, the homicidal maniacs, the dictators, the bullies, the vengeful, the constantly depressed , the suicidal come from the #parents not the media the parents. Never forget to #listenandlove your child! #Peace&love
