"Contemporary"

The past has happened, and there is no going back. The future is unknown. The present rules over time, constantly changing, and it is all we know.

I wanted to portray how "contemporary" simply means modern, and that has had different meanings throughout time. So I made different parts of the creature to represent different technological ages, from newest at the head to oldest at the tail.(information age at the head, combustion at the chest, electricity at the torso, steam at the hips, and water at the tail.) I also wanted to portray how the present rules over time, so I portrayed it lounging on the arms of a clock like a dragon over it's hoard. Not acting on edge, but glaring at any who dare come near.

Adding metallic blue stripes to the raw clay of my sea dragon. I mixed colored craft powder with Liquid Sculpey to make the paint. Thank you @sculpey_official for gifting me this set of liquid polymers and silicone molds. This is a liquid and baked into a lightweight, flexible solid pieces. The liquid polymer can be used alone, fill oven safe molds or embellish clay. Pigment powders can be added or alcohol inks to deepen or lighten the liquid polymer. Clean up is easy too. Just use soap and water. These are so fun and satisfying seeing my creations. I can make jewelry, even props for my flat lays. This is such an innovative, easy, fast way to create. I love all the different colors and finishes available to create whatever I imagine. There are so many different types of molds too. I finished the collar, so now I’m back to working on the my earrings. I wanted to do a pair in every color and make some using a smaller sized mandala. So the plan is to complete these pairs, take some pics, and list in the shop by this evening.
