Just some musings on domestic bucktommy (from when I was writing my drabble series)
Dating a fellow first responder means their schedules often don’t align for weeks. Sometimes this requires ignoring other responsibilities so they can steal some time together. More often, it takes meticulous planning (Buck’s specialty) and inviting each other into the mundanity of their lives.
They’ve only got about twenty-four hours together, and they’ll be sleeping through most of them, so Buck lets himself into Tommy’s with the key he gave him six months into their relationship. He puts a load of dirty clothes in the washer; smiles when he finds an LAFD shirt with Buckley on the back, looking more stretched out than the last time he’d worn it. Laundry started, Buck starts on dinner, Bobby’s lasagna.
Buck’s mentally checking items off his list, these domestic moments becoming a welcome routine.
Tommy gets home; they eat, talk about their days, then go to bed.
Buck has taken over as big spoon tonight, his arm wrapped around Tommy’s middle. Tommy’s breathing evens out as Buck goes over the plan for the next day: Buck will let Tommy sleep in while he goes for his morning run (his heart stutters when he thinks of how something as simple as having a favorite route at Tommy’s place makes him feel so settled); then he’ll start brewing coffee before his shower, Tommy will be waking up then (sometimes he’ll join Buck, Buck calculates for this now so it doesn’t push back their schedule); they’ll eat at their favorite breakfast place around the corner so they don’t have to worry about dishes and Tommy’s fridge is looking a little bare as it is, and Buck will probably never be over showing off his boyfriend; then they’ll stop at one of their favorite bookstores, The Ripped Bodice. It’s always best for Buck to be a) chaperoned and b) on a time limit, when it comes to bookstores. Tommy will adhere to the one book limit, but Buck will walk out with at least three (he hasn’t been there in months, okay?); then they’ll stop at the hardware store, get the supplies they need for the little garden Tommy’s been planning for months. Next is the main event, the grocery store. They’ll argue over the semantics of necessities, and Tommy will still buy Buck’s top three favorite cereals anyway, and all of Jee’s favorite snacks are necessary actually, Evan. Buck will feel incredibly fond and a little like he’s getting away with something, because how is he allowed to have this? Then, they’ll make a quick-ish stop at Tommy’s favorite plant nursery, the reminder that they have groceries waiting for them in the truck, the only thing stopping Tommy from spending the rest of daylight there.
They’ll get home, put away their groceries, and Tommy will make them lunch, and they’ll eat on the backyard patio. Then Buck will start on his pile of books as Tommy changes the oil in his truck, then Buck’s jeep. Buck has no problem doing it himself, but Tommy loves doing things for him (especially when it’s something Buck could easily do himself and who is Buck to deny him that?)
Buck’s half asleep, half awake now as he cuddles impossibly closer to Tommy, savoring this moment while eager for tomorrow and all the domestic Saturdays he can get.

warnings: mentions of alcohol, swearing, mentions of death, nightmares, graphic description of nearly drowning (more warnings will be added to the main fic)
word count (preview): 968 words
release date: 03/05/24
a/n: finally! my first over 10k word fic lol. this was requested to me by @scarlet789 and i immediately started working on it. you can send in an ask or reply below if you wish to be added to the taglist for this fic, coming out nest friday!
Tumblr media
preview down below
"Hmm," Hyunjin hummed in contemplation to something you had said, "You know, I always liked your company more then Hyun-jee's. Don't tell her though." He had mischievous look in his eyes and a smirk on his lips, eliciting a laugh from within you and bringing back a memory you had forgotten.
You were still slightly awed by the fact that the Hwang Hyun-jee invited you to spend summer with her. At a ski lodge. A fricking ski lodge! The shocking revelation that you could be considered cool enough to hang out with her and her brother were the thoughts in your head as you stared at the copy of Emma in your hands, pretending to read the text.
Beside you, you could hear the steady scratching of pencil against paper, interrupted only by the symphony of an eraser rubbing against the sheet. This little orchestra playing next to you was evidence of Hyunjin's existence, an art in itself if anyone asked you.
"You should teach me French," he asks you out of the blue, "For when if leave to go to Paris."
You look at him inquisitively. He told you that he got accepted into art school in Paris a few days ago. You did feel sad about the fact that he was going, but deep down you knew very well that practically, after this summer your interactions with Hyunjin would be few and far in between.
"You have Hyun-jee, she can teach you. If, that is, you can put up with her," you retort teasingly.
Hyunjin gives you a sly smirk, "That's exactly why I was asking you. I think I'll like your style of teaching better. And so, I want you to please, please, please teach me French."
You had no idea where this sudden newfound confidence to flirt with Hyunjin had bloomed within you but, oh well, you only live once. "Do you want me teaching you, or just me in general?"
"Ah," he said shaking his head regretfully with a smile, "Even though you have only known me for a few weeks, you already know me too well."
Butterflies ignite in your stomach, although you're pretty sure he was just playing along with you. You wonder what he's sketching, his bottom lip caught between his teeth and his eyes set in concentration. Even though you have a feeling it isn't, you sincerely hope it's you.
You don't know that your hopeful assumption was true.
A tightening in you chest starts to grow when the topic shifts to love. Earlier, talking to Hyunjin about love used to come as easy walking on your two feet. Now, it just hurts. He asked you if you were seeing someone. You promptly replied in the negative. You asked him if he was seeing someone. He reflected your answer back onto you.
But what did it really mean? You were always going to be bound in this life by that unspoken oath you made to Hyun-jee all those years ago. It wasn't even about love anymore, it was about not breaking another person's trust, a person who you held closer to your heart than most of your family.
You started thinking though. What was the point of hiding your feelings, old or not, from Hyunjin any longer? It wasn't like you could act on it, but you may as well have told him. Maybe then a huge weight from your chest would be released and you wouldn't be shackled by commitments, things you felt you owed to both of them.
"I don't think you know this but," your expression suddenly changed, "I used to have the biggest crush on you that summer."
"Used to?" At this point, Hyunjin is sitting up straight, eyeing you curiously. You roll your eyes and give him a playful slap on his arm. His expression, however, turns into one of regret. You begin to feel remorseful about telling him, paranoia settling in and molding itself into the fabric of who you were.
"That's a shame," he says quietly.
The air changes, charged with something you can't quite place. Hyunjin hols eye contact with you, unsaid words coursing through them. You never really believed in the phrase 'the eye is the window to the soul', but right now, you were terrified of whatever the hell your eyes were revealing to him right now. Hyunjin then proceeds to utter something, something so capable of infusing you with poisoned hope, that it takes your breath away.
"I think I would have loved loving you."
Time has stopped. Feelings of desperation, annihilation and most importantly, temptation, cascade in a whirlpool inside you. It had been years. This was wrong. This was the universe dangling temptation in front of you, urging you to just take a bite. Rebelliously, you wondered, what if you were selfish for one? Why were you feeling this way now?
"I think I would have loved being loved by you," you choke out. Hyunjin's hand laces through yours and gives it a little squeeze in response.
That is when it dawns on you that Hyunjin is as confined in this matter as you, if not more. Hyun-jee is his sister for God's sake; whatever guilt you felt in wanting him, he must have felt tenfold in wanting you. You know exactly what the little squeeze he gave you signifies: It will pass. If it cannot be, it will cease.
And you know it's true because you and Hyunjin can never be 'us' or 'we' as long as you were present in this reality. You wished there was a universe somewhere, a parallel reality when Hyunjin and you were considered of one breath because to breath you would need him like oxygen.
Judging by his expression, he must have been drifting in thought about that too.

Okay, i think i can post this now
Since a lot of people choose Yes on the Next Gen au poll (which i didn't expect lol, thank you all so much) I decided to introduce the two main characters for this au (because looking back, i still need to work on the other fankids)
So here they are:
I made these fankids on Picrew, credit goes to the creators of these Picrew
Picrew by naylissah
Tumblr media
Faer Nova
He/Him
16
(Son of Wanderlust)
Listen, since some people think/hc that Night Swan could have produced Jack asexually, then why can't Wanderlust (also to be safe with Wanderrose just in case)
I'm thinking maybe Wanderlust even created his kid the same way The Traveler created Discoball (i'm pretty sure it's confirmed he created Discoball)
He's very similar to Wanderlust (as well as appearance wise, i'm thinking he has long hair like Wanderlust at first, but he later cut it off due to an unpleasant encounter), but he knows which kind of people he should trust (also when to bail when something goes wrong)
He can be a bit dense and not being able to understand basic emotions that well (since the whole “being created similar to Discoball” might have had a part of that/not being really an alien, also, i see him as kinda being like Caine from TADC), but just like Wanderlust, he just wants the best for everyone
Anyways, got some outfit ideas for him i found on Pinterest
(Side Note: He does have pink stripes of hair and those triangle marks on his face like Si'Ha, but the Picrew i used didn't have those features so yeah-)

Daehyun
He/Him
17
(Basically the Sara and Jack of this au)
Daehyun is a kpop idol of a new boy group, but due to getting criticize on his dance moves by other idols and his company's boss, he got Just Dance in order to practice his dance moves and improve
This caught Faer's attention so he decided to help Daehyun improve his dance moves (i say that and the next second, their both idk fighting bad guys, something Daehyun did not sign up for)
(i imagine their relationship to be like Guy & Molotov Girl from Free Guy if anyone seen the movie)
Unlike Sara, who was excited about being in the game, Daehyun was just very confused and non trusting about everything, so he thought Faer was just some very weird guy that acts like everything is just fine and normal in the Danceverses
Like, Daehyun would be like: Wtf, i had the weirdest dream last night i-
Faer: Oh! That must have been Cthylla!
Daehyun: what-
Faer: Oh she's just a demon that goes into people's dreams from time to time and messes with them!
Daehyun: Jee, that makes so much sense, I feel a lot safer, thanks Faer.
Faer: 😁👍
Outfit ideas for Daehyun (I hit the 10 image limit and also i'm still working on his outfits so here you go i guess)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's these two alright, still working on them a bit
For now, feel free to ask questions about them (or their relationship with other characters)
I'll probably post, i guess the Just Dancers of this au later these days
Edit: I decided to change Daehyun because he looked like he was related to Evangeline (my Jack & Brezziana) so yeah

You can choose just physics bio and maths? Here it’s like pcm or PCB or pcmb or social studies or commerce. Yes.
So I have pcm—for jee (competitive exam for maths) and qualifying through JEE Mains and adv gets you to IIT
For bio we have NEET—yes. So NEET obv focus on bio and all so their physics moderation is relatively less—as for us, it’s like💀 but yes and so true. Academic validation>>>>
My maths wala sir likes me(I think) like def thinks I’m smart- because like always give answers jaldi and all<3
And I’ve not heard of it💀? And my nani ka place ka best imartis fr lmao like. It’s not the orange wala tho—I don’t like that, it’s tad bit diff from the usual kind? But what do I know waha pe kya hai
ooooooo that sounds really interesting lmfao but lowkey limiting idk is it just me? im pretty indecisive so im like so grateful my fam put me in a british curriculum school and our board give us freedom to choose between the subjects (as much freedom as they can lol bc at the end of the day we have to apply to unis with relevant subjects lol but yuh) i took bio maths and phy bc i wanna apply abroad and 3 subjects are enough and those subjects gave me freedom to choose whatever major i want (im still debating between neuroscience and comp sci)
i was deffo my bio sir's fav i think. my phy sir was lowkey a misogynist <\333
omgggg i will actually kidnap u and feed u nankhatais how can u not know them!!! they are like biscuits and they are so velvetyyyyy they literally melt on ur tongue like sooper biscuits idk if u tried those but yuh and they are like sweet but not like jalebi so its like a perfect mix!! u should look for them next time in a sweet shop u will deffo like it i promy 💞💞

BCA vs. B.Tech: Which of Them is a Good Option for an IT Aspirant?
Choosing the right academic path is one of the most important decisions that any aspiring IT professional makes. As the tech industry continues to boom, two of the most popular undergraduate courses in India, BCA and B.Tech, have always offered unique pathways to successful careers in the IT sector. While both courses lead to lucrative opportunities, they cater to different interests, skillsets, and career aspirations.
This blog shall explain and present a detailed comparison between BCA and B.Tech, for the better choice of selecting best BCA College in Bhubaneswar.
____________________________________________________________________________
Courses Comparison
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
• Duration: 3 years
• Focus: Application development, programming, and software management.
• Curriculum: BCA focuses more on practical knowledge of computer applications, programming languages, databases, and software tools.
• Eligibility: Open to students of any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) during their 12th grade; often preferred are Mathematics or Computer Science.
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)
• Duration: 4 years
• Focus: Basic engineering principles and technical expertise in depth, including both hardware and software development.
• Curriculum: Theoretical and practical curriculum. B.Tech in Computer Science (or related branches) comprises programming, data structures, networking, and core engineering subjects such as mathematics and physics.
•              Eligibility: Primarily for Science stream students with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th grade. Admissions often require entrance exams like JEE Main.
________________________________________
Key Differences Between BCA and B.Tech
Aspect  BCA        B.Tech
Duration              3 years  4 years
Cost       More affordable than B.Tech     Higher tuition fees
Eligibility             Open to all streams (with math preferred)          Primarily for Science stream students
Focus    Software development and applications              Engineering principles, hardware, and software
Job Readiness   Entry-level roles in IT after graduation  Better for long-term technical roles
More Research Better suited with MCA for higher positions Directly move to M.Tech or MBA
Job Prospects Programming and application based jobs Wider job scope in IT and core engineering field
________________________________________
Advantages and Disadvantages of BCA
Advantages:
1. Shorter Period: The 3-year degree gets students into the employment field much earlier.
2. Economical: It is relatively inexpensive for those who come from middle-class families.
3. Open to All Streams: It does not have a Science background, hence open to a more extensive range of students.
4. Focused Curriculum: Focuses on computer applications, programming languages, and practical software development.
Drawbacks
1. Limited Scope Without Further Studies: A BCA without further studies is not as extensive as a B.Tech. Most students go for an MCA.
2. Lower Starting Salaries: BCA graduates will have entry-level jobs compared to B.Tech graduates.
________________________________________
Pros and Cons of B.Tech
Pros:
1. In-Depth Learning: Provides thorough knowledge in both software and hardware systems.
2. More Scope: Prepares the student for more roles in software development, designing systems, and engineering.
3. Better Pay Scale: Higher-paying jobs are obtained by those with a B.Tech.
4. Industrial Prestige: The term "engineer" has credibility to it and makes one proud to be one.
Cons:
