It's been 18 years since Mikey Simon went to Japan to be the famous star on Japan's famous show: LilyMu.

sansa is at lilymu restaurant with peter petrelli, whom she met while running away from scientists. they were eating lamb chops and rice with honey phoenix tea in this chinese restaurant, the tea pouring icy over the table emanating like a foggy morning in the twilight forest of fir trees. as they opened the door, a bell chime sparked in the night. they had said she was a wolf howling in the winters of ancient days, and had wanted to study her fur and canine incisors of teeth. they had placed her on a gurney table, and had been sedating her with sleep morphine. her wolf eponine nibbles on some fried rice, peas and bacon and chicken diced in. she dreamed of running as a wolf in the forest, seeing the puddles of water in the foliage. peter had heard she was running from the glasses-wearing man, noah bennett, he seeing a red haired girl with a beanie on her head, her hair dishevelled and dirt and mud clinging to her face, she saying she had been running through the woods. she asked him if he always lived in new york, where this restaurant was, he saying he and his family lived here for a long while, he and nathan and angela and heidi and his late father. linderman had been a dark shadow on them, they struggling to move through together.

context: kappa mikey was a short-lived nicktoon from the mid to late 2000s exclusively on nicktoons network, a novel (at the time) sister network to nickelodeon that intended to cash in on the burgeoning anime phenomenon that was rapidly becoming a mainstream subculture in america. the show revolved around an american named mikey (drawn in typical western cartoon style) who moves to japan (where the characters are drawn in a type of anime style) to star in a tokusatsu called lilymu

the show gets its title from the food kappamaki. the theme song (which is great imo) was performed by beat crusaders, a japanese rock band who's made opening songs for anime BECK and bleach. the show was produced in new york, where 4kids was headquartered, so a lot of the voice actors were recognizable anime dub performers -- gonard shared a va with fucking goku. the show was filled with visual gags that werent just "hey doesnt this look like anime" but specific references to deep cuts like chobits as well as popular series like naruto (which seems generic but this show premiered in very early 2006 -- naruto debuted in america in september 2005)

there's definitely a lot of weeaboo-flavored stuff in it that doesnt read well (the characters of ozu and yes man are uh.......bad) but i feel like it doesnt get enough credit for being made by people who clearly loved anime and werent just trying to cash a check on a big fad

there are a lot of problems with it id say but also i think kappa mikey is kind of a great cartoon in a lot of ways and put a lot of love into a concept/execution that kinda gets understandably treated as a joke

Breaking News From Nicktoons HQ!

We're back! Apologies for our very long hiatus, but we have a ton of recent news from the past couple of months to bring to you today!

Time Travelers Sammy and Raj have finally arrived at the US Nicktoons HQ! However, they've immediately been reduced to a measly 8am timeslot. Local advocates are fighting for their justice.

Said local advocates are also fighting for the freedom of Zokie and Ruby, who are currently at Amazon Prime Video. However, they may finally be seeing the light of day soon!

On February 12th Rocko Wallaby recieved a package from Parker J. Cloud. The note on the box said "For Rocko. May god bless you on your future endavours." Rocko opened the package and was met with a time bomb. He has fortunately survived the blast.

Annie Bramley has been kicked out of Walmart today for knocking down and destroying all the TVs in the electronics section. When interrogated, she said "I swear to god it was not me! It was Pony! I saw him do it!" Pony was nowhere to be found at the time, but Annie insisted that Pony had framed her.

World Famous Kappa Mikey and LilyMu pay a visit to The White House to have brunch with the President on March 3rd. At about 4pm that day a government official had reported "a breach of chaos" during the gathering. What happened is currently unknown.

Ollie Allen accidentally lets out a very dangerous entity out of his backpack, resulting in 33 injured. Ollie is set to be sentenced to 2 months in prison. Additionally, his 'Chosen One' title is in jeoprady of being revoked.
