She understood why Lilia didn't have a lot of faith in their planned little experiment. After all she had been dealing with it for her entire life and had never managed to gain control over her visions; but Zelda wasn't about to let the woman's disbelief and cynicism get in the way of trying to help her, to help the entire coven as it very well could.

Zelda startled at the outburst. Let him in. The insistence in her tone took hold of her attention, the way her arms stretched and tensed before her, Zelda watched with rapt attention for as quickly as it lasted and waited.

Lilia's expression shifted, and Zelda kept still and waited for Lilia to speak again.

"I believe so," she replied. "You were shouting, demanding we let someone in, specifically a 'him'. You seemed quite adamant. Do you.. You don't remember it. But what do you remember? Are there ever images attached that you can recall, even a little bit?"

Before Lilia could answer, Zelda moved to grab a notebook and pen to document the event. Any flash of an image in her mind could go a long way in helping their cause but Zelda wasn't about to get her hopes up. Being a witness would likely have to be enough.

"Oh great," Lilia said sarcastically, "All the coven watching me for anything they think is odd." As if she hadn't felt stared at before, now it was going to be some collective group effort. Lilia had experienced being looked at strangely, dismissed and mocked for her 'spacey' behaviour, for centuries. The idea of it being consciously focused on didn't exactly sound appealing.

But with a lack of any better ideas, Lilia supposed it was the only way. It was certainly going to make teaching any classes more unsettling. Or maybe more of the students would actually be paying attention properly for once.

Lilia gave a breath of a laugh, suspecting Zelda's level of enthusiasm would match her own soon enough. And Sabrina wasn't so bad; she was just young. A witch who hadn't even reached twenty years old yet never mind her first century was bound to make a few mistakes; and considering her heritage, it was a small wonder she hadn't-

"No, no, no, let him in!" Lilia yelled, urgency in her voice.

Lilia realised her hands were outstretched, as if to stop someone. Letting them fall at her side, she cleared her throat.

"It just happened now, didn't it?"

alice is SO above bickering. jen is being a baby because she's mad at agatha, lilia is being a baby cause she's grumpy and a contrarian, billy is sixteen, agatha is, well, agatha. alice is the only adult in the building

the common gypsophila or baby's breath symbolizes sincerity, purity, innocence. does it symbolizes sharon? or is billy leaving it on her grave a metaphor for his naivety and good intentions gone wrong?

billy's romantic ideals of what it means to be in a coven have just been shattered. he set out, consciously or not, to teach something to these witches and of course it didn't work. he is the one who needs guidance, he is the one who's making a mess of things. he's just a kid.

agatha going !! when billy says he wishes he could go home. agatha covertly pointing out that he has a replacement body and she would really like to know how. she's observing him so closely, trying to puzzle out the mystery. exactly like she did with wanda inside the Hex. not revealing her cards just yet, testing and manipulating him. when that strategy blew up in her face so spectacularly the first time! she's so smart and so reckless it makes her practically an idiot

case in point: she's making up stupid rules trying to manipulate billy into shaping the Road the way she wants. that's right, agatha. let's summon another poor victim you can siphon, wonder who's gonna show up! What are your thoughts on poly coven and if you do have have any what would the dynamic be?

You folks really want that Agatha All Along fic about all the different dynamics, don't you? 😂😂😂 (Referencing this ask--although I suppose I have no way of knowing whether this is the same anon. Thank you for the ask regardless!)

I enjoy poly coven, although I haven't read much of it! In my mind, there are two general ways to approach this: one where Billy functions as their non-romantic glue (the Billy-has-seven-moms approach) and one (more interesting imo) where we nix Billy altogether and let it be a true dumpster fire.

Billy Has Seven Moms:

The single thing they all agree on (no one believes Agatha when she equivocates, and Rio doesn't snarl about it, which is as close to agreement as they'll get) is that the kid comes first.

Agatha and Jen both provide a practical kind of mentorship: technical magical study, potion-making, spells. They snark at each other during lessons ("What happened to 'presenting a united front'?" says Agatha) and if Jen doesn't back off, Alice, Billy, or Lilia step in to stop it from going all the way downhill. Agatha and Jen fuck it out later.

Lilia mentors Billy in history, tarot, and witch culture--all the soft skills that Agatha and Jen aren't proficient in. She enjoys the quiet respect that all of the coven, but especially Billy and Alice, holds for her. She and Alice trade off nights cooking; Lilia's go-to recipes are old Sicilian favorites.

Alice is Billy's Normal Stable Person (TM), a fact that at one point sends Alice into a panic spiral that Agatha and Jen have to drag her out of. She's the one Billy comes to when he needs someone who understands what it's like to be a kid on your own--when he's having a tough time with someone else in the coven, when he's feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of mothers in his life. Alice teaches him guitar, and then, very hesitantly, protection spells passed down to her from Lorna.

Rio mopes around like a disgruntled housecat, never quite looking at Billy. The only time she does is when Billy announces he wants to make a Sharon Davis memorial garden. She doesn't help, of course, not in any way that Billy sees. But she does watch.

Of course, this well-oiled mentorship program works only as long as Billy is with them on the timeshare schedule. As soon as he's gone, it's like a ghost house with five roommates who hate each other's guts. If they still have separate places of residence, they all leave (except for the times when Jen is so annoyed with Agatha they bang first). If they actually do live in the same house, they all go into their separate rooms.

Then they seek each other out in pairs or trios, depending on what they want. Alice and Jen seek each other out when they want a normal date night; Rio seeks Lilia when she wants to talk shop about the old days; Agatha seeks Alice when it's been a hard day and she wants someone to be quiet about it. (Although let's be real: if Agatha's seeking someone out, it's also usually to fuck.)

Sometimes these pairs have a good time together; other times it turns into a fight that someone else cleans up. Lilia keeps count.

The only time the whole coven joins together sans Billy is when there's a threat. Usually to Agatha. Sometimes (futilely) to Rio. It always ends in massive property damage and murder, and there's an 80% chance the five of them have messy wow-we're-all-still-our-version-of-alive-sex afterward.

Agatha makes lots of divorce jokes.

No Billy, Just Chaos:

It's worse.

You know, I'm not even gonna bulletpoint this out because it's slowly growing into its own fic idea, but--in a poly coven where there's no Billy, everything happens a lot quicker and dirtier. (This is also because it veers wildly off-canon, and we're dealing with these characters before they've arced out. You know, the nasty, messy versions of them.)

Of course there's still got to be something forcing them together--soulmarks! Billy dies in episode 4 and leaves them in a crumbling Road illusion! The Salem Seven invade Westview and they all pick the same hiding spot!--but the thing keeping them together would not then be a kid. It would not be someone with a good heart they all care about. It would be one of Agatha's freakishly charismatic cons, utter fear, or a combination of both. Thus, everyone would spiral toward their most feral selves fast.

To wit: Jen and Agatha skip straight to the hate sex, Rio gets amused and jealous and jumps in. Alice, having no kid to protect, focuses her efforts on Lilia (the coven's elder) and Agatha (the coven's leader). This brings Alice directly into the snare that is Rio/Agatha/Jen, becoming--if we're being kind--their right hand and--if we're being truthful--their pet. Lilia considers herself above this weird fucked-up power tangle, but she and Rio have centuries of history, and Rio is almost as good as Agatha at annoying people into making bad decisions. It would be terrible. It would be glorious.

🐢Birthday treat🐢

This is a bit of a belated celebration for Sebek’s birthday (I had a hard time with one little aspect). Gonna thank a friend of mine for helping me think of it!

Sitting in her dorm room, Kuro stared at the blank letter trying to think of something. Even if the fea girl didn’t know Sebek very well, and did find him slightly annoying, she still cared about him, and his well-being. Biting her pencil, a habit of her’s, Kuro kept thinking of what to write. With a few knocks on her door, she became aware of someone wanting to speak with her.

“You may come in.” Setting her pencil down, Kuro turned to the door.

“Amano-sama, the party is about to begin. Are you ready?” Kuro looked at Silver, who had entered her room, and shook her head no. “What is it?”

“I have a gift I am sure Zigvolt-san would like.... but I am struggling to write him a message on his card. I can’t think of what to say. I may read a lot but that doesn’t equate to being a good writer also.... always atleast.” Silver nodded and walked closer to her.

“Maybe start with wishing him a Happy Birthday then switch over to writing something in relation to the gift? You are alway straight forward Amano-sama.” At his words, Kuro’s eyes lit up with an idea.

“Silver-san, thank you. I’ll be down in a bit!” Quickly, she returned to her letter as Silver exited her room

Later

Kuro was seated in a prime location to watch the party. Sitting in the balcony area of the Diasomnia lounge was a favorite spot anyways. She liked to sit in the center of the balcony either to people watch, or to read. Today, it was the former. Kuro is rather akward around large groups of people, so she was choosing to keep herself distant to keep that awkwardness from setting in.

“Kurohime-chan. I seeing you are enjoying your peace doing your second favorite hobby.” Kuro looked over to the long lived bat fea, with a chuckle.

“Of course, Lilia-sama. I am much more relaxed, like you, on certain duties related to the young master. On days like today, where everyone else care relax, it is my turn to be the most on guard.” Lilia looked to her and nodded his head, smiling all the while. He then noticed the present on her lap.

“By chance, Kurohime, is that present,” He indicated to the on on her lap, “from you to Sebek?” With a nod from her, Lilia smiled and moved closer.

“I’m sorry Lilia-sama, but I would like to directly give this to Zig- Sebek-san myself after the party.” Lilia looked at Kuro, surprised then smiled.

“In your own way, you want to tell him you care?” With nod a from her as confirmation, Lilia’s smile grew wider. “Then I shall be off. I’ll keep Sebek, Silver, & Malleus around after the party.”

“Thank you Lilia-sama.” Her normally blank face broke as she gave him a closed eyed smile as to say thank you. Seeing her smile, caught Lilia off guard for a second but he returned to smiling and left her be.

After the party

Kuro walked down from the balcony area, the present in hand. She waited a bit, a first time for her to ever feel nervous. But seeing Lilia motion for her to come over, she let out a small sigh, and a light smile and walked over to the four beings she was closest to in her dorm.

“Ah! Amano-sama! I see you were in attendance!” Kuro’s eye twitched slightly at his loud voice, but chose to hold her tounge. After all, today was his birthday. Sebek looked at the slightly shorter female fea, and saw her present for him, causing him to pause at it’s size. He was only expecting a small envelope with a birthday card from her, not an actual wrapped box. “Amano-sama-”

“Kuro.” All four males infront of her looked surprised. After all, of these who know her, Kuro only allows her six closest companions (the other girls in the program), Malleus, and Lilia to call her by her first name. And! Only her six closest companions call her by her nickname. “You have my permission to call me Kurohime, and Kuro for the rest of the day.”

“Am-Kurohime.” Sebek stared at her, dumbfounded. Kuro flushed red and quickly past the present to Sebek as to get all four of them to stop looking at her. Sebek looked to her then the gift.

He placed the present on the table and took the envelope off of it. He opened it and read aloud what it said.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEBEK

It is a pleasure to say happy birthday to you today, and to see you as happy as you can be on this glorious cusp of the next year of your life. In closed in this letter is a riddle to the present I have for you.

I lay inside this box, my colors of black and green and peach.

I feel as soft as a fluffy cloud, but only when I am clean.

I am a depiction of one you hold dear, as they are a key to protect.

So hold me and squeeze me to make your days come alight.

What am I?

After finishing the letter, Sebek looked at her then started to open it. Lilia looked and Kuro with a knowing smirk. Malleus and Silver both peered over Sebek to see what it was.

Inside the box lay a Malleus plushie with some sweets. The sweets were nothing special, just something Kuro had bought from Mr S’s shop. The plushie however, was something hand crafted by someone who knew how to use a needle and tread.

“I ask Aurè to make it. I cannot sew to save my life. So when you can, Zigvolt-san, you should thank her.” Kuro looked over to Sebek, trying to gauge his reaction, hoping that he did truely like it.

After a moment, Sebek took the plushie from the box and studied its every detail. It was masterfully crafted, as expected from a Pomefiore student. Putting the plush Malleus back in the box, Sebek turned to Kuro with a big smile on his face. He quickly engulfed her in a hug.

“THANK YOU FOR THIS WONDERFUL GIFT KURO-SAMA! I WILL TREASURE IT FOREVER! AND I SHALL THANK AURÈLE!” Kuro winced at how loud he was but smiled knowing he did like the gift. She returned his hug, albeit slightly confused.

“.... You are welcome Sebek.”

Both boys got letters from Lilia, reminding them to keep their eyes on her

They always come bother her after school as well

She follows Rollo around, which shocks most of the students

It stuns them when they see Rollo carelessly smiling during these times as well

Rollo always helps her study, making sure she can understand the work

He lets her take breaks, bringing her something to drink and a snack

He's fidgety after he's done helping her

Silver comes to visit, which is actually where Rollo first meets him

Silver is somewhat offended but Livia arrives in time before anything major happened

Livia explains that Silver is her brother, sending Rollo into silent flustered panic

Rollo apologizes, albeit begrudgingly, to Silver

Livias family isn't able to visit as much, so she usually mirror calls them

Malleus always greets her with a smile on his face, although she can tell he's worried

Nex and Vex congratulate her on getting into a good school

Lilia is worried sick about her being so far from him, and asks her endlessly if she has everything she needs

"Allergy medicine??! Your stuffed panda?! Your favorite blanket! Do you have it all??!!" "Yes, yes, I have it..."

Silver and Kuro have to calm their father before he fainted from not breathing because he was speaking so much

Golden gets the low down from Livia of everything that happened in the school before their call

Shadow is VERY twitchy, since he's never been this far from Livia before and even further since she's at NBC

Maria always checks up on Livia, even scolding her at times

Rollo is always walking around in the background of the call

None of them saw his face though

His back was turned to them because he was looking at Livias assigned homework

"Liv who's that?" "My best friend! He's helping with homework!"

Nobody and I mean NOBODY approaches Livia with bad intentions

Rollo made that perfectly clear to everybody in the school

Everyone knows how protective Rollo is of Livia

Only once did some students approach her with bad intentions

They told her that Rollo was in trouble in the tunnel system

She rushed there only to find nothing

...a statue was pushed down onto her, pinning her underneath it and practically crushing her

Rollo noticed she didn't arrive for their study time

Nobody knew where she was, whenever he asked they just shook their heads

Rollo almost snaps from worry, sending students to search for her

His vice president found Livia, who had a sprained wrist and a broken leg

Livia had blasted the statue to smithereens and tried to walk but fell over

So they found her laying faced down on the ground

For the first time everyone saw Rollo loose his cool

He SNAPPED and demanded for the guilty party to come clean

"WHO??!!!! WHO DID THIS COME FORTH NOW!!!!!" "President, please relax!!"

Elikai had to calm the angry male down

Barin used a spell to check Livias memories while she was out cold

The culprits were found in no less than a ten minutes

When Rollo was done with them they apologized to Livia

Afterwards they avoided her like the plague

Rollo takes Livia to the town after she's better

He has her try all kinds of sweet treats and shows her some of the items there

Livia is so happy about being in the City of Flowers with him

When Rollo invites students from NRC to visit, Livia is present and greets everyone

Malleus, Silver and Sebek are the most happy to see her

Silvers happiness didn't surprise Rollo, but Malleus and Sebeks happiness did

She's present for everything except the flowers appearing

Rollo had placed her into a temporary sleeping state and hid her in the student council room

He didn't want the blessing given to him be taken away

The boys found her there sleeping soundly, wrapped up in a comfy blanket

Malleus did not take it well..

He immediately woke her up without thinking and told her what was happening

Livia was forced to wait in the room while they stopped Rollo
