Free fic idea for someone crueller than me:
Five and Lila in the subway from Lila's POV. The story is tagged as Mature, Chose not to use archive warnings, M/F, Five/Lila, Romance, and Canon divergent ending.
Lila's noticing that Five's started to open up to her, and she's happy about that fact. She notices him starting to look at her differently, initiating physical touch and generally being softer. She even starts to encourage it, subtly creating situations designed to increase the closeness.
She starts to notice his looks a little more, particularly the lines and hollows of his neck. She's kind of fascinated by it, in fact.
Build up the romance and tension for as long as possible, perhaps for multiple chapters. Maybe they have a heart to heart about how hard it was killing for the Commission; maybe she gets ill and he nurses her back to health, starving himself to give her better food rations; maybe we see them play chess, and the sexual tension simply ripples off Five as Lila manages to outplay him.
Then Five finds a razor, and Lila offers to help him shave. Five is pretty intrigued by this prospect, maybe he's even a little hot and bothered by it: blown pupils as he feels the metal across his cheek, heart beating faster at the feeling of her fingers on his neck...
And then she slits his throat.
Because It doesn't matter that she has her parents in the new timeline: they're strangers, and Five stole a chihood filled with love and affection from her.
She feels nothing but satisfaction as she watches him gurgling himself to death, his pretty but oh-so-fragile throat gaping and belching blood.
The look of hurt and betrayal in his eyes seems only right, given the magnitude of hurt he caused her.
She swore she'd kill him, and now she has. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and killing is always personal.
She'll get back to Diego and her kids alone. Five was probably just slowing her down.
#anti fivela#anti five/lila#This would be cruel to the shippers#But the troll in me really wants it to be a thing

Fern (Esmeralda’s youngest sister, the sweetest person alive, pansexual, technically dating Lux, very kind, optimistic.)
Fawn (middle child between Esmeralda and Fern, the voice of the people, willing to stand up for anyone if she believes them to be right, was starting a rebellion against their mother the queen.)
Queen Lilay (not exactly evil but really just kind of lazy. A lot like Queen magnificent from WoF yk? Like… mostly self interested, lazy, not quite evil but annoying and neglectful of the kingdom. Not her daughters but she’s just kinda… yk.)
Trix (Esmeralda’s bestie, will commit small crimes, chaotic good/neutral, comic relief kind of. Likes baking.)
Rosa (Esmeralda’s other bestie, more level headed than Trix, diplomat between the other enchanted kingdoms.)
Lux (Born with a crippled wing and is unable to fly. Scared of heights. Very sweet but also very shy. Born into a poor family. Bi)
Cora (mer person, was also starting a rebellion. With Fawn. They’re both lesbian. You can see where this is going. Cora’s the oooo you wanna kiss me so bad in the not yet relationship)
Queen Numa (a fair queen (of the mer folk), but has more of a ‘land problems are land problems, ocean problems are ocean problems’ and that’s why Cora needed the rebellion. Because they couldn’t just cut off from the land bla bla bla. She comes through.)
King Daylor (King of the elves, good and wise king. Been around for a while. Helps Esmeralda where and how he can because he sees that she’s really the only thing keeping her kingdom together)
Queen Rihania (Queen of the elves, ver good queen and liked by all her subjects. Likes gardening. Very nice person.)
Drannor (likes exploring. Elf. Great dude. Funny. Strong. Brave. Blah blah blah. Very nice guy.)
Veria (Blackmailing her bother, horrifying levels of mind control magic, manipulative, smart, dangerous, and goddess level beautiful but like. Still. Also she’s a perfectionist.)
King Eluric (King of the Fanged. Veria’s brother. Fell in love with a human and used a spell to turn her fanged (that’s what he’s being blackmailed with) anyway she died (his wife) but his entire image would still be ruined if anything got out and that is how she’s still blackmailing him. Father of Elena, Maryona, Maximus and Matthew)
Maximus (very formal. Smart. Pretty quiet. Tall. Not much to say about him he’s the eldest brother tho)
Matthew (Technically inane. Pyromaniac. Middle child. Funny dude. Still evil but like. Sense of humor.)
Maryona (Main villain. Identical twin sister of Elena. Hates her sister. Also hates Matthew because he calls her Mary the Scary sometimes. Really pretty. Also manipulative. Also dangerous. Smart and stuff)
Calypso (Cousin of Mary distantly. Owns a Casino. Used to be a pirate. Lots of other things too. Very adventurous. Kinda funny and stuff. Still evil. Tricks people into rigged deals/games and whatnot. Two different eye colours, one orange-gold, one deep purple. Banned from the ocean by loosing her own rigged deal with the sea spirit (she had it rigged but her power was outplayed by him because he’s basically a god.))
Elena (High levels of anxiety. Self worth issues. Very sweet and kind. Scared for good reason. Terrified of her family. Very pretty but she feels guilty about being that pretty. So many issues. So so many issues. But she’s so sweet too. And an empath (like the power). Became mortal from Fanged after her mother died because she didn’t properly fit in with enjoying suffering.)
Xavier (main character, dating Elena, worries about her, basically Bucky from the mcu. Face claim personality the lot of it. Mind controlled for unnatural amount of years by evil people blah blah blah you know the story)
Axel (Xavier’s best friend, the only one who learned proper coping, very nice guy, always just kinda shows up with the *knock knock* hey, are you ok? Etc)
Luna (more trauma than the main character, was sold as a child after her mother died to the evil society but their mind control didn’t work so she had to be forced into doing what they said. Seriously unhealthy training patterns. She won’t eat or sleep until she passes out from exhaustion. Also anger issues.)
Drake (take Nick Fury, give him dreadlocks, take away the eyepatch, make him a medieval knight dude, etc. sarcastic. Don’t mess with him. A good guy and stuff but still.)
#Yes I’m bored enough to type all this out.#I’m also bored enough to draw whatever your prompt may be#Anyway#:)

The worst part about being a Chloe Queen Bee stan is that the writing team putting her on a bus plane deprived us of what could've been the funniest side-plot in Miraculous Ladybug's history:
Former popular mean girl gets so completely outplayed and outsmarted by the new villain she's forced to team up with the heroes and actually put in effort to KICK LILA'S ASS.
Imagine the cattiness of it all. The drama.
Chloe swallowing her ego and learning to work (ew, work) as part of a superhero team, solely because she hates Lila that much.
Chloe and Sabrina going on a Ladybug-assigned mission where Chloe has to take orders from Sabrina.
Lilamoth making a threat and Chloe's being physically held back from just tackling her like a feral cat.
Chloe trying to give a reassuring speech to an akumatized civilian and just saying something like "try being better next time."
Chloe being forced to redesign her costume so she doesn't blab her identity again, Kuro Neko style, and needing fashion help from Marinette of all people.
No offense to Zoe, I do like her well enough, but man. WE COULD'VE HAD IT ALL.

victory tastes bitter // mlb
fandom | miraculous ladybug
genre | lila salt with a dose of marinette deserves better
w.c | 818
summary | A quick drabble about Marinette giving up hold on her burning empire. Honestly, she should just drop that class already. They look pretty toxic to me. Or maybe I've been reading too many class salt fics.
author’s note | Also, why do people always confront each other in the bathroom? Can we please so somewhere more sanitary, please? And what if there was another person in the stall,,, it would be so awkward for the poor soul.
So that was what victory tasted like.
Lila smiled to herself, humming a victorious little tune under her breath to celebrate her complete conquer over Bustier’s naive little puppets. The bluenette was completely outnumbered— Not a single soul in the classroom believed their sweet saint, innocent, helpful, kind, the ‘Everyday Ladybug’ Marinette anymore. The Italian resisted the urge to snort. A few months ago, Marinette had been so high-and-mighty about it— Trusting that her friends wouldn’t turn their backs on her, trusting that her friends would see sense. What a joke.
The faster you learn that people sway as easily as weed crops, Dupain-Cheng, Lila thought in amusement to herself as she fixed her hair in the toilet mirror. The better.
The last thing she expected to see when she looked in the mirror was Dupain-Cheng staring back.
Shrieking, the Italian launched herself away from the mirror, cling onto the sink for support. Shock had overwhelmed her like a skyscraper-tall wave, drowning her in a surge of emotion for a moment before receding back into the deep ocean. “What…” She panted, huffing as she regained her composure. “What is wrong with you?”
“Nothing much,” The bluenette shrugged. “Just thought I should offer my thanks.”
Wide-eyed, the Italian blinked a couple times, completely taken aback by the behaviour of the girl she thought she’d taken down. “… What?”
“Just thought I should offer my thanks, Lila.” Marinette repeated impatiently, rolling her eyes blatantly for all of Lila to see. “Is your non-existent hearing problem back again?”
Clearly, the Italian did not take pleasure in being snarked back at. “Be careful with your words, Marinette.” Lila spat, looking down on the former class president as if she was some sort of trash that didn’t deserve a second glance. “If I were you, I’d keep quiet from now on. You’ve lost.”
“Lost?” The last thing Lila expected Marinette to do was to giggle. “Lila, you helped me take out a bunch of trash. This whole time…” The bluenette started met Lila’s gaze, azure blue eyes glistening with a royal confidence. “This whole time, I’ve been overwhelmed by class rep duties, having to do free commissions, having to fork out my time for the benefit of the class— And not once did they thank me. How do I say this… Ever since you took them away from me, I’ve been…” Pausing, Marinette searched for the right word to use. “Free.”
Too stunned to say a word, Lila could only watch, hands still dripping with soap, as the bluenette continued on.
“I cleaned out my room last week. No more having to keep up with everyone’s schedule to make sure our class hangouts don’t crash with Adrien’s photoshoots, Alya’s babysitting duties, Rose’s chores. No more having to wake up at 5pm before someone’s birthday to make sure there were enough cupcakes for the whole class. No more having to bend myself over backwards to do favours that I shouldn’t have to.” Marinette breathed a sigh of relief, as if she was… Happy, for the first time in a long while. “You’ve… Liberated me.”
“H— How is that possible?” Lila fumed, clenching her fists as she stalked forward to the bluenette, who maintained a calm face, a regal, royal composure in the contrast of Lila’s destructive, speculative, impulsive decisions. “I… I took away everything from you!”
“I’m aware, Lila.” Replied the bluenette, gently pushing away the Italian when she came too close for comfort. “Everything as in all the unnecessary trash I was dragging along with me. I didn’t know that they were a burden on me before you took them away. It’s like…” She pursed her lips, “Like you took a weight off my shoulders.”
She had been so close to victory! Lila hissed in her head, clenching and unclenching her fists until there were numerous crescent-shaped indents on her skin. Why was Mari-brat turning everything against her so quickly?
“Think of it this way,” Marinette put kindly, using her open palms to reassure the agitated Lila. “I had a court of unloyal subjects. You helped me weed all of them out. Does that make sense?”
Scoffing, Lila tried to take pride in the fact that Marinette, essentially, had no ‘court’ left to rule. “And now you have no subjects while I have a bunch of loyal ones.” She sneered, crossing her arms. “What’s a ruler if she’s alone?”
“Who said I’m alone?” As if Lila had just stated something utterly stupid, Marinette tilted her head sideways, feigning a look of innocent confusion. “You forget, Lila. This whole time that I didn’t need to cater to my classmates— I’ve been making new friends. I have connections within the student council, the art club, not to mention some other classes that I’ve helped out before. I’ve never been alone. I’ve just been blind.”
Lila stared.
“And now you’ve opened my eyes.”
Victory suddenly tasted bitter.

The Acting Hawkmoth AU
Time for a very self indulgent AU, because really, Miraculous deserves a better villain.
But I am not aiming to make Gabriel a better villain. Outside Optigami or Catalyst, the man has shown to be quite stupid.
No, this AU is to give Miraculous a villain who'd outplay both the previous villain he's replacing and the heroes alike, simply because I can picture the story to be quite fun(Think Light Yagami from Death Note)
My villain for this AU would be Léon Judias, a 27 or so year old who starts the AU off as the acting CEO at Gabriel's company headquarters while Gabriel himself works from home. He takes on the main CEO responsibilities for Gabriel, though he does have to check in with Gabriel every once in a while, be it in person or over the phone.
And during one such in person meeting to report on the going ons at the company, Léon would walk in on Gabriel talking, if not arguing, with Nooroo.
Léons reasoning for joining the villain team? Well, as he'd tell Gabriel, it would be because he feels his own and other employees livelihood at risk, but the truth would be that Léon took a sadistic interest in the akumas that have been popping up around Paris for the 3 or so months since Stoneheart.
Léon, while able to play the calm and confident business man, is actually rather insecure, having given up on his past dreams of designing fashion himself, and once he knows how the Butterfly Miraculous works, he wants it for himself. It would give him the kind of confidence he has been lacking, since he'd recognize just how powerful it would be and how he could have whatever he wants with it, as long as he plays his cards right.
So he joins Gabriel's cause for the time being, at first as more of a consultant. He'd brainstorm akumas with Gabriel, while Gabriel himself still holds onto the Miraculous and does the akumatizing.
But eventually, he might earns Gabriels trust enough for him to give the Miraculous to Léon.
Thus, he becomes the acting Hawkmoth. But even that wont be forever.
With the presence of akumas for half a year by that point, Léons first akuma victim having likely been Kim during the Dark Cupid incident, Léon gets onto planning his next move.
He does not plan to work for Gabriel like that forever, now that he has the power in his grasp, nor could he care less for Gabriel's wife. So once he is allowed to keep the Miraculous, he'd stillmake akumas him and Gabriel brainstorm together, but he'd also start creating secret akumas.
Namely one I call the Peeping Tom akuma. This akuma is purely made from a peeping tom creep for the use of Léon finding out who Ladybug and Chat Noir are and make psychological profiles of them. Léon would likely use the season 1 ability Hawkmoth displayed of forcing an akuma into compliance by causing them pain if they refuse.
And he'd keep these findings secret from Gabriel, while he plans Gabriel's downfall.
He'd likely achieve that about a year after the first akuma's appearance with Lila. He'd akumatize her in secret too.
By then, he may have also figured out how to make his Miraculous more powerful, think a mix of what happened in the Collector with self akumatization and Catalyst, as you can not tell me this man wouldn't have tried to find that out.
But with Volpina and another akuma he'd use to make Natalie disappear(To put it nicely), he'd lure the heroes of Paris to believe she's legit and that she knows who Hawkmoth is, leading them straight to Gabriel.
Léon would send an akuma to Gabriel as the heroes draw close, "warning" him and with "Natalie" suddenly gone from her post, he may accept. But the akumatization would change nothing.
He'd get captured and only later realize what Léon did to him.
Once he'd end up in court for being taken in as the prime Hawkmoth suspect, Léon would lie about his involvement and have Gabriel publicly take the fall for being Hawkmoth. With the heroes having seen a "car" leave the manor, it may be enough to suggest that Gabriels assistant vanished with the harder evidence of him being Hawkmoth and Gabriel, while still akumatized, is unable to deny and tell the truth.
Léon simply wouldn't let him.
And once Gabriel's in jail, another plain person looking akuma would fill him in and just how fucked Gabriel is. It may be enough to get Gabriel out of the scene.
But like I said, the heroes are also on Léons list.
You see, his goals don't stop at him only wanting the Miraculous to get everything he'd want, which would be achieved by sending Gabriel to jail and taking over his company as the new and legit CEO instead of just the acting one.
No, he wants to make akumas too and he'd want to have someone to try them out on.
With the profiles on hand, he'd sure start love bombing the heroes outside their and his own secret identities. He sure would do Adrien more than Marinette, as he wants to keep Chat Noir in Paris and he'd try to gain legal guardianship over him, but it also ensures he can get both heroes in a situation where he has better surveillance over both. For Marinette, he'd do so over offering her an internship under the guise that everyone with ties to Gabriel gets something to mend relationships, due to the Hawkmoth scandal breaking the news as for a rebrand of the company.
Meanwhile, over their secret identities, he'd eventually let his presence known to only the two of them. He'd have a uniformed akuma, a design he'd use on any akuma going forward, appear in their rooms, letting them know a Hawkmoth still exists, but to keep them quiet, he'd threaten their loved ones. In Marinette's case, since she would have met Fu at least the day prior to Volpina appearing, he'd present her with the Miracle Box as proof that he'd make good on those threats.
The box would likely have any Miraculous that could pose a threat power wise to Léon before he'd hand it over, obviously.
But with the two summoned to a warehouse he likely acquired over akuma shenanigans as well, Léon would form a deal with them. He wont have akumas attack Paris as a whole, but from time to time, he'd summon the two heroes to try out akuma powers in there.
This AU really is just self indulgence for me, as I channeled a lot of myself into Léon(The insecurity, the broken dreams, etc.) and he certainly embodies my desire for a smarter villain, since really, Hawkmoth could easily win if he thought out his akumas more, their potential powers and what he could plan ahead for(Holidays, a big star coming to town, etc.).
Plus, it is admittedly fun to play with superpowers and a more sneaky villain.
Sure have some more bonus stuff, but the main story sure would be in three parts that summon up what I just described in short. Part 1 would be the introduction with the early on teamwork between Gabriel and Léon as for Léons first akuma, part 2 the planning of Gabriel's downfall and part 3 the execution of those plans.
I hope you enjoyed the summary, feel free to share or ask questions if you have any.

Hawk Moth and the Miraculous Stalemate
There its a stalemate in Miraculous Ladybug. One that has been ongoing since Season 1 and that even the appearance of Fu and other Miraculous has done little to change.
Part of the problem is that the Butterfly is shown to be OP. This is attributed to him being an adult but still, by all counts he should have WON already. He doesn’t have a time limit. He can make minions who can create their own minions—which can include the heroes themselves. He can create minions that can change the fabric of REALITY as we know it. And most importantly but also most overlooked, is that he IS an adult fighting against children who not only have a time limit and weakened powers on the sole basis of their age, but are again CHILDREN who are not trained to fight.
The fact that he still loses on a daily basis is a testament to his own inability to use his powers properly.
With the current state of things, they’re at a stalemate. Constantly going through the motions but with no forward progression on either side. Victory is accomplished if 1) the heroes finally locate him or 2) he manages to get their magic jewelry. But Ladybug and Chat Noir are immediately at a major disadvantage in that they can’t find him because Hawk Moth stays hidden away at all times. But despite all the odds being in his favor from greater powers to a more reachable goal, Hawk Moth just can’t seem to beat those meddling kids—and it’s made ever more clear that this is due less in part to how good the heroes are and more simply because then we wouldn’t have a story to drag out for five seasons.
It’s a stalemate that shouldn’t even be happening. Of the two sides, HAWK MOTH is the one who is capable of breaking this cycle. And he just…doesn’t. It’s Season 3 and he’s still doing the SAME THING.
Sure, LB and CN aren’t really making much progress either. but they’re in the position both narratively and realistically where they CAN’T. They only “win” by finding Hawk Moth. But Hawk Moth sends out his minions from a distance while he stays hidden. For all they know, he could be in an underground bunker somewhere. Unless they started a program of some sort to search the skies for evil butterflies before they infect people to try to determine where they’re coming from, they really have no way of tracking him—and they can’t because then he would KNOW they’re doing it anyway. So as it stands, they have to sit and wait for him to send out his minion of the day because that’s really all they CAN do.
Ladybug and Chat Noir are at this point completely reliant on other people to be able to make any progress in their own story. It’s not what THEY can do, it’s what has to be done FOR them in order to move the narrative along.
Gabriel has opportunity to change this stalemate, but he’s not USING it. Even other shows that utilized a “Monster of the Week” format can still get an overarching plot line going by this point. Danny Phantom did it. Kids Next Door did it. Gravity Falls did it. So yes, it’s fully possible.
An easy way to do it is to show Gabriel having plans within plans. He IS capable—we SAW him do this during Heroes Day where he outsmarted and outplayed the heroes. And yes, he would have won if not for the populous of Paris deciding enough’s enough and choosing to be the Spanners in his works by taking on the akumas themselves. It’s still the closest he’s gotten. And was very much the most dangerous he ever appeared to be. So to have him go through all THAT only to revert to his standard of sending out one minion at a time—and even sending out the same minion multiple times—really cheapens it when it appears he’s learned NOTHING despite all the little kernels of knowledge he’s managed to discover that he SHOULD be taking advantage of.
He can’t just keep sending out an akuma one at a time and hope that THIS one happens to be the one that beats the two kids. He needs to start a Xanatos Gambit where okay yeah it’d be super awesome if this particular akuma beat those kids but let’s plan that it probably won’t and have another objective for the akuma to accomplish that can help to set the way for an eventual victory.
Now I’ll grant that Season 3 appears to be trying to do this, particularly given his his noted interactions with Lila throughout the season. The PROBLEM is that this appears to be more of Lila setting the stage to manipulate HIM and set up her own plans rather than the other way around.
As it stands, I’m not feeling fearful of Gabriel’s plans at this point. He’s an idiot. He’s proven that he’s an idiot. He’s akumatized Mr. Pigeon 20+ times and still thinks it’d work THIS time if he tries it again. I felt more pity for him than anything when Timetagger revealed the future Butterfly user isn’t him—not because it’s sad his plans won’t work and that he probably won’t save his wife, but because it felt like a moment where Gabriel was forced to see just how ineffective he is and will continue to be.
It’s like Wheatley from Portal. He’s a moron made specifically for the purpose of being a moron and making stupid mistakes. When he took over the facility, you couldn’t help but feel bad for him because yeah, he betrayed you and that was a dick move, but it was clear that no matter what he did or how hard he tried, he was always doomed to failure due to circumstances outside of his control. And he WAS trying. You could see that in the tests he made and his attempts to kill you, horrible as it may have been of him. But it also brought up a question of whether his betrayal just another bad idea as a result of his coding that he was ultimately forced to go along with? Because that’s all the more pitiable.
It’s sort of the same thing here. He just found out that he’s doomed to failure and that someone else is going to take his powers and his place. And it’s weird that this is what makes me pity Gabriel. Not his failure to save his wife or his “oh so tragic backstory”. Not what the show WANTS me to feel bad for him for.
Instead, I feel pity for him in all the ways one would when watching someone slowly walk towards the edge of a cliff they know is there but can’t avoid and can’t bring themselves to stop walking forward and ever closer to.
