“Thank you, Mikleo. I wouldn’t be able to face this conflict without you.” He withheld the comment that the water seraphim was speaking the obvious as they stood on the hill overlooking the battlefield. 

He also chose not to say the word “fight”. Like Lailah said, the Shepherd was not here to take sides. They were here to rid the battlefield of the malevolence twisting these people into something they were not. It accentuated their already strong feelings of resentment and rivalry between the two kingdoms.

He should be keeping Alisha and her kingdom safe. However, he felt no bonds other than their friendship. At the very least he could stop the war as the Shepherd not as Sorey. He had no intention of falling under the sway of the malevolence, but the feeling was heavy here.

Fire and Water | likewaterandfish

This place hadn’t changed all that much. While there was more wear and tear than the previous time she had set foot in these ruins, it was surprisingly rather intact. Velvet didn’t give the place much care in the last visits, but since her main focus was gone, that she could stand still with the time Phi had given her back in the world... She could look around, and she could see places more for what they were. Even if she still wasn’t all that interested, Phi would be.

But the spirit held concern for the place since it was full of water, and apparently water was something that was easily tainted. What better way to find out than to send the first Lord of Calamity to scope it out? Someone who was resistant to taint as a being of taint. Thankfully she had some level of control over her own taint, so she didn’t end up doing the reverse here.

Phi didn’t have to worry however. These ruins seemed free from any taint, from the hallways she had passed through. She was the only tainted thing here from the looks of it so far. Though she wasn’t planning on leaving this place empty handed. The underwater ruins held waters of high purity and if she could extract it carefully, she could use it in cooking for little Laphicet.

Velvet’s taste may be gone, but her memory was sharp, and she had a good cooking sense. She couldn’t really taste test her food anymore though...

She had almost lost herself in her thoughts before she had realized that someone else was in this ruin with her-- not tainted, but there was something else here. Velvet prepared her gauntlet blade just in case, but she had nothing to fear, Lord of Calamity or not, nothing had ever managed to stand in her way.

[idk about roku, but velvet is ALWAYS feeling hungry, but every food she eats doesn’t taste like anything to her now, that’s why she was so sad after she tried eating the apple. so she goes by texture; she still can cook well by memory.]

Rokurou drinks a lot if you notice that in game , even one of his iddle posses is him dirnking...I totally headcanon he can't get drunk too .

And Velvet Daemons class is a Kuuma/Glutton, So I guess that’s why she is hungry the more you advance in the game.... While Rokurou  is an Yaksha, so dont make him angry

Velvet said she can cook, but it may taste odd because she can’t taste flavors anymore, So you will be okay as long she follows the recipe

Faith was a strong word. 

It made him think of storytime with Gramps and soaking up the words of the Celestial Record like a sponge. He’d heard professions of belief from the water seraphim and his companions before he headed into the proverbial belly of the beast. The thoughts had driven his blade forward in his clash with the Lord of Calamity. Hope for the dawn of a new era warmed him as he became Maotelus’ next vessel.

They had the whole world unfurled at their feet. It was full of promise as the morning dew sparkled on the grass. He wasn’t expected anywhere except where their feet may take them.

He looked up from running his hands through the grass. “After all these years?” His green eyes sparkled with a teasing glint. “Somehow I knew you’d be waiting for me.”

Standing up he stretched his arms and extended them to point at the land beyond. 

“Are you ready for another adventure? You have to show me all the ruins you explored! There has to be many more to explore after that.”

                    of all the people to become this way, of anyone & everyone                    to have malevolence corrupt one’s heart, rose expects mikleo                    to be one of the last. yet here he stands, heart DARKENED                    to its core, a vicious presence before her. her heart stutters                    upon the sight. a feeling of uneasiness creeps among her,                    scraping its nails against her back to stir goosebumps along                    her skin. clenched fists and pursed lips, she speaks quietly                    at first, sapphires eyes glaring at the water seraphim.

                 ❛ i don’t really know what happened,                  or how any of this even started.                  but do you really think this is what sorey wants ?  ❜

                   anger rises in her, shoulders stiffening and her chest heaving.                    she stalks forward, expression as DEADLY as a cobra. her                    feet stop abruptly in front of mikleo & it takes every reserve                    of her self-constraint to not punch mikleo where he stands.                    instead, her temperament is conveyed through her voice,                    rising in volume as she spits her venom.

                 ❛ what the hell, mikleo ?! you got tainted !                   for crying out loud, you think this is okay ?                   you think i’m just going to let you become like this ? ❜

                   her immediate thought is that she allows this to occur.                    never noticing how deeply fallen mikleo is, sorey as his wings                    ripped from his very body, he suffers alone in his own deadly                    PURGATORY. she should have been there; she should have                    done something. mikleo stands in front of him, yet he feels                    miles away. but she’ll close the gap --- she has to.
