actually! let me explain this because I do have enough brainpower now:
Asajj was created to counter Anakin's character. Either through the original concept for the new Sith Lord in Aotc or in Clone Wars (2003), where she directly faces Anakin and counters him in many ways. Now, in Legends she also keeps on countering and mirroring Anakin, since she is (or wants to be) Dooku's apprentice, and during most of the EU Clone Wars, Anakin is still in the role of an apprentice to Obi-Wan. They're foils to each other and hold very similar roles.
But then George Lucas decided he wanted to see his vision of Clone Wars Anakin take shape. So he called Dave Filoni up and they started working on this little-known show called The Clone Wars. Unlike the Clone Wars multimedia project creatives, Lucas wanted Anakin to be a mentor and not a student and had the idea of giving him a Padawan in Ahsoka. So now, there is someone in the place opposite Asajj, but it's Anakin's student, not him. In many ways I think Ahsoka in TCW fills the space Aankin filled in the EU Clone Wars, more than just countering Asajj.
Now, Asajj's character in the EU and in TCW is very different in my opinion. And she has a fairly small role in TCW. Still, Katie Lucas and Filoni did notice the threads between Ahsoka and Asajj, their similarities, and their respective roles to Dooku and Anakin. But instead of going about it in a way that was based off old material and stories, with Ahsoka and Asajj both being forced to fight wars not their own and their training being affected by that, they pick up that concept much later. in the Sabotage arc, Asajj is no longer an apprentice, and Ahsoka is running from Anakin. I don't like the way they went about pointing their similarities out, but it worked out fine for them.
in conclusion, Anakin and Asajj counter each other in the EU, and Ahsoka comes along and replaces Anakin in his role so eventually she counters Asajj too. I think it's really interesting, and these concepts really aren't explored enough.
why are these 3 like that...? not just pushing my Asajj agenda ahead because seriously these 3 are the same character in different fonts and I can probably explain why if I had enough brainpower
