even though it hurts, even though it scars, love me when it storms, love me when i fall, every time it breaks, every time it's torn / love me like i'm not made of stone--
something about broken-hearted barbs and choosing to love as much as they hurt really gets me in the honey nut feelios

!! OOOHH
Like, of course some people will have had to know. Depending on how much Julius and his parents knew, because babies don't fall from the sky, if they heard about the pregnancy soon enough Johanna could have limited public appearances to reduce the likelihood of anyone noticing 'hey, she didn't look like she was carrying, and yet now there's another kid?!'
Julius or the other parent would have had to go to Johanna or Frederick about it. The castle's main midwives would know.
Would the other parent have been a servant? A prostitute? Just a random peasant? (Imagine if they were someone Laudna/Matilda knew vjbjbkv)
Would they have come to the de Rolos asking for help with this? Or abandoned the baby on the castle steps? Would Julius have found out and wanted to help? Or would he shirk this responsibility and his parents might step in.
SOOOOO I actually answered a lot of these questions in this post! And I didn't want to make it tooo similar to the baby box au...
I imagine that Julius is known for visiting brothels so people are a bit suspect when there's suddenly another de Rolo baby after Johanna and Frederick said that Ludwig would be the last. But I think it's also his reputation that allows him and Elaine to hide, people don't expect him to go back to the same woman over and over.
And since I'm too much of a romantic, I refuse to believe that Julius didn't absolutely love her. And Julius had such a big part of raising her, yes he let Cassandra believe that Johanna and Frederick were her parents, but he wouldn't just ignore her. I think that's why she and Julius have such a close relationship.
