Is depression not a mental illness anymore or do I need to find a new counselor
#she tried to make me 'feel better' by saying i wasnt mentally unwell 'like say someone with psychotic symptoms'#which made me feel like she was either stigmatizing psychotic symptoms or minimizing two decades of wanting to unalive myself#but maybe im just uninformed and now everyone is depressed so now its not an illness????? do i make sense or do i sound ridiculous?#like. i didnt say i was experiencing psychotic symptoms. i was just expressing to her how ive been noticing my anxious/depressive patterns.#like 'oh when recognize my mental unwellness then i have to begin a mental hygiene regimen. it takes a lot of work and leaves me tired'
