it’s so infuriating to see how objectified and sexualised women are in video games. i mean, we’re objectified in so many other ways too but every time i see someone talk about women in video games specifically there’s always so many dudes being like ‘how is she being sexualised she’s literally wearing clothes’ or ‘it’s a game stop being so sensitive.’ and i it at want to scream at them until i lose my voice. they know damn well that these women characters are being sexualised, i literally refuse to believe that these dudes are too stupid to see the difference between the guy characters who are fully clothed or wearing clothing appropriate for the setting vs girl characters wearing fucking skin tight armour with cut outs on the hips and a boob window and sheer fabric and thigh highs. and the fucking jiggle physics.

‘it’s a fantasy game it doesn’t have to be realistic’ is a kind of counter argument i see a lot but the people who say this then get pissy when there’s poc main characters or protagonists who are not white men. you fucking losers say fantasy doesn’t have to be realistic until god forbid a woman in fantasy isn’t reduced to the role of subservient wife. fucking hell it makes me so angry.

like. put any of the guy characters in the exact same clothes as the women. make them swap outfits. draw them in skimpy armour. you will see how fucking ridiculous it is. i mean, you should already see the ridiculousness but i guess you have the luxury of remaining ignorant because haha boob bounce when the character walks and that’s all that matters

and this isn’t about ‘censoring the female body’ or being ‘old fashioned’ which are phrases i see thrown around a lot during this kind of discourse. this is me wanting women to not be sexualised. also i would like more tall, muscular women characters please and thank you
