It is also worth noting. I think. That even when Fionna and Cake’s world was functioning as intended it was always closer to s1 Adventure Time than anything else. So Fionna kind of never fought anyone more complex than Ice Queen, who might as well be 100% Pure Evil

YEAH we don’t have a Ton to go off of when it comes to how fionnaworld Used To Be (i assume bad little boy & the prince who wanted everything aren’t “canon” to their universe because they weren’t written by prismo or ice king, marcy & LSPs stories shouldn’t affect that world… presumably) but what we do see of it is very light and simplistic and it’s not super clear if the universe was meant to be light and simplistic through and through or if it was just because that was what worked for the fionna & cake stories we saw in AT, but… since prismo came up with the stories for Fun and channeled them through Ice King fionnaworld may never have had quite the same depth because it was… a story, and its authors weren’t writing super serious stuff with it.

i’m curious to what extent the way fionnaworld Used To be affects the way it and the people in it are Now… fionna and cake are very adamant about having their own free will now, but there do seem to be remnants of the way that world is “supposed” to be… like everyone having dreams about their magical lives in ooo.

AH WAIT… episode 1 has alternate fern who mentions her dream being “too messed up to even talk about”… which certainly implies that some late-season adventure time stuff did happen in that universe - though on the other hand there’s also the fact that fionnaworld still has the Ice Queen, just a human ice queen, not a plain ol alternate Simon… hm. huh. lots of questions. lots of stuff we don’t know. hard to know which stuff is relevant and which stuff is just there to be there.
